According to a release issued by the organization, the two monks from the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) were arrested on what are believed to be false charges. The organization claimed the arrests were retaliatory actions as the monks had led protests demanding the protection of the lives and properties of minority communities, including Hindus. The statement further noted that the ongoing persecution appeared to be aimed at instilling fear among religious minorities, pushing them to leave the country.
