Note
How are you handling the transactions in Mumbai and Goa? When I visited, there were so many shops that went cashless and used the UPI system instead. Confused me at first 😵💫
In Mumbai I didn't have a problem with cash or foreign card being accepted (actually at the Airtel shop that finally sold me a SIM card the guy only wanted cash, but perhaps because he was overcharging me), so far in Goa my friend was doing the UPI thing everywhere and I'd just give him cash later. But we parted ways today, and when going into a cafe in Panaji just now I was surprised they didn't even have ₹200 in change and had to go fetch it, so maybe it'll become an issue as I go along. And then I'm not sure what I'll do!

Located forty one kilometres from Panaji, this place is laced by greenery as much as it is by the Arabian Sea. As per Hindu mythology, an arrow shot by Lord Vishnu landed here. Hence the original name of this beach was Banavli (arrow). But the Portuguese who settled here changed it to its present name. Benaulim beach is the beach to be, when you just want to relax. One can just laze away day off soaking in the sun. It gives you the pleasure and satisfaction of being in Goa. A candle light dinner amidst the setting is an excellent add-on to the perfect vacation.

WATERFALLS
The moment people land in Goa, they are exited about the parties and beaches. It’s justifiable since these are the primary highlights of Goa, but the state has a lot more. We are talking about something that is known to only a select few, those who know the state beyond its usual tourist attraction "The waterfalls". Hidden away in the lush Western Ghats, there are several of these cascades of cool water in the state that would refresh any worn out soul. So go ahead reading list of the must-visit waterfalls in Goa:
Hivre Waterfalls

Hivre is a village positioned seventy-five km from Panaji in Sattari Taluka. From Hivre you can see the Sahyadris mountains whose peak just blend into the sky, while its feet appear to float on a sea of green fields. And somewhere in between this, a patch of white catches the eye – the distant Hivrem waterfall.
Yes one can go right up into but only after a brisk walk of about 45 minutes, including some tough climbing. After panting and puffing, the Hivrem waterfall finally stands right before your eyes ! Its cooling nature make one gasp with pleasure as the pains of the workout just get washed away in the crystal waters .Hivrem is a picturesque part of Goa that is little known and less explored. Hivrem is a village that plays hard to get – it is situated 15 kms from Valpoi.
The trek is about 7- 8 km through dense tropical vegetation. You may come across the Indian giant squirrel or catch a glimpse of deer or the wild Indian Gaur. Birdwatchers can feast their eyes on a variety of rare species also present here.
Tambdi Surla

This waterfall is 90 minutes away from the temple. If you are visiting the temple, a trek to the waterfalls should be a must in your to-do list. The falls is located amidst thick forest, so it is recommended to take a local guide along. The trek might take a little more than 90 minutes depending on the steep ascent.
Once you reach the waterfalls, you will find your painful trek a worthy adventure. The breathtaking nature, cascading falls and the drizzle on your face, it is the best thing you will ever experience.
The trail from the temple to the Tambdi Surla waterfalls is quite simple and easy to follow. While on your route, you will also find a few streams flowing down the hills. The fresh air and pristine water will definitely make you fall in love with the place. Initially, the path of trekking is quite wide but gradually the path narrows.
Though you won’t come across animals like leopards on your way yes, be prepared as it is home to a large number of reptiles, small and big. You may find a few snakes or some other small animals. The best thing about the trek is spotting colorful birds which can’t be seen in the crowded cities.
Dudhsagar Waterfalls

At a distance of 71 km from Panjim Kadamba Bus Stand, 50 km from Margao Railway Station and 10 km from Kulem, Dudhsagar Falls is the largest and highest fall of Goa. It is one of the must visit Goa tourist places and is often represented in promotion of Goa Tourism. Dudhsagar Falls is another popular attraction not to miss in a Goa tour packages. This falls is a four tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River in Goa. This waterfall is amongst India's tallest waterfalls with a height of 310 m (1017 feet) and an average width of 30 m (100 feet) at it's peak. This falls is located inside the Bhagwan Mahavir Sanctuary, at the border between Karnataka and Goa states.
Dudhsagar literally means a Sea of Milk in the local Konkani language and gets its name as it appears like an overflowing sea of milk. It is a four tiered waterfall with different ways to reach each level.
