Seeing the American husbandry of ferrets is always wild to me as a northern Brit like

What do you mean they’re neutered? What do you mean they’re kept indoors? WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU KEEP THEM IN THE HOUSE FULL TIME?? WHY ARE YOU SCRUFFING THEM???

Second only to skunks???#I love ferrets btw i once amused one of my lecturers by being baffled that people don’t know they’re working animals??#He was all ‘you’ll rarely meet working ferrets anymore’ and I was like ‘??? My neighbours have working ferrets???’#‘Everyone knows ferrets are working animals right???’#My love of ferrets is helped by my anosmia. Once again a super power in my life #Btw I do understand the why of American ferret husbandry but it’s so antithetical to British husbandry #Except the scruffing. That’s just wrong leave them alone they’re babies.
