I don't think I wanna involve Madison in the Melony and Serana thing but I'll give it one potentially interesting thing, which is the idea that Madison has completely misinterpreted her and Melony's relationship.
Madison and Mel are friends. Close friends, but that's all. They like to hug, and cuddle, and say "I love you" to each other, and all of that kind of thing but there's never an indication, from Melony's side, that they're anything else. But Madison has taken it to mean they're in a more queer platonic relationship, despite Melony saying he doesn't want anything like that. Madison just assumed he doesn't like the label, but it's always been something different than "just friends" to her.
And then Melony goes off and comes back with this vampire woman, and they ARE queer platonic, and Melony is happy and willing to call them as such, and it upsets Madison. So she confronts Melony about it, because "I thought what we had was special." and all of that and Mel is honestly just... taken back by it.
Because this is the exact thing he never wanted. He was so scared of having a friend that he could cuddle and say that he loved because he didn't want it interpreted the wrong way. He thought he found someone that understood that. He did consider their friendship special. He valued Madison and Serana equally. Was being friends not special enough?
Of course he feels bad. He doesn't like upsetting anybody, but the whole thing is just so fucking frustrating for him. It just drive back the idea that friends can't act a certain way without something else going on. He wants to know why she didn't just tell him that sooner, or ask him about it, or bring it up any other way before now.
So now they're both upset with each other, because Madison feels like Melony cheated on her, basically, and didn't tell her, and Melony feels like their entire friendship is invalidated.
