personal fandom pet peeve is when people read really hard into jokes, but specifically only to make bad faith arguments or paint a character as the worst person ever. Character people don’t like for arbitrary reasons, who is generally characterized as being a sarcastic, dry person, will make one joke/the show will include them in a single comedy beat and suddenly no one knows how to laugh anymore

#Yes this is sooo so specific about one character specifically why do you ask #And it’s so crazy to me bc the character I’m talking abt is played by an actor I think is generally really good at the comedic delivery #He kills it every time he’s so funny #And it’s often like a read the scene moment to because listen to the music playing look at everyone else’s face #There are typically cues when something is meant to be taken as “social misstep” vs “joke”#And I’m not saying you can’t find jokes in poor taste #But the jokes in question are so tame #And also it’s literally every other fucking word out of this characters mouth #Anyways unrelated happy s7 finale day that I haven’t watched yet for all who celebrate
