Further ideas for Marvelous Bats AU (Freddy and Black Adam centric)
I said before how I like the idea of the magic putting them in their physical primes but there’s an obvious limit, like to regrowing limbs isn’t possible and scars linger on their older bodies. I mean that’s how it works in other DC medias, Captain Thunder from the Flashpoint timeline had scars that stayed from a battle with Diana and Apokolips War had Marvel with a blinded and scared eye and missing leg with a lightning construct to replace it. The magic doesn’t fix everything with their champions bodies. Sure those injuries might not translate right back to them detransformed, it’s a hypothetical older them sustained by magic, but anything from the real body should always stick to the magic one right?
Touching on Freddy, he shouldn’t be able to walk on his bad leg. The invulnerability and flight sure make the hero gig with it easier but any pain or discomfort that would come internally should still occur. The magic Shazam’s him up but he’s ultimately trading one crutch for another.
Same with Black Adam since in the current idea of him he was a slave almost his entire life up until he became Khem-Adam and never turned back he should have his own issues too. Poor guy may age a few thousand years the minute he turns back but until then he still has the pains he left his mortal body with, which is probably something akin to a lot of chronic pain from years of hard labor and a ton of back pain from the business end of a whip. If there is some way to help him through some sort of pain medicine powerful enough to affect someone whose basically a god he’s taking it, if not then he’s in constant pain and incapable of getting help for his situation by being too late by thousands of years for some sort of magical/medical treatment.
I’ve never been a fan of disability’s being swept under the rug or retconned into oblivion, I don’t want Freddy’s to be forgettable half the time and I wish people would acknowledge how much Theos newer backstory would affect him as an antagonist to the family, man, and leader of Khandaq.
