Fandragon Spotlight: Wainwright and Alistair
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two are fandragons of Wainwright Jakobs and Alisatir Hammerlock from the Borderlands series! They are such a well done couple and I love them a lot. They're definetly among my top favorite NPCs.

Felt like ranking the BL3 DLCs since I have now played through the whole game + DLCs twice
4. Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot
While it might be the lowest, I don't hate it at all. I quite like it! The premise is a lot of fun and definitely feels like it fits Handsome Jack's character, and I think it was a clever way of featuring him again without some cop-out twist where he secretly survived. Plus, the whole plot is basically just flipping him the bird and stealing his shit so Moxxi can have the last word, so what's not to love?
The reason that it's the lowest is mostly that I found the other ones way more memorable. While Timothy is a neat character, I've only played a bit of the pre-sequel, and only as Nisha, so I'm not all that invested in him, or at least as much as I could be. I also think the environments were more interesting in the other ones.
3. Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck
I think this one is the weakest in terms of level design; it's veeeery linear, basically a series of hallways. However, I think that the insane environmental designs more than make up for it, from the bizarre meat world to the unnerving Hyperion labs. I also enjoyed the story a lot, and I felt like it did Krieg justice, moreso than can be said for a lot of the returning characters (also getting more Tannis content is always a plus in my book :D). The sidequests were some of my favorites from the whole game! I liked how they were more bite-sized affairs, and either based on philosophical/psychological concepts or just inane, surreal bullshit.
2. Bounty of Blood
Man, it was pretty hard to decide between this one and GLaT, so much so that I considered having them share the top spot, but this is what I ultimately decided on. I LOVED the concept of blending the western and samurai genres together, and I really enjoyed it as a standalone story. The world of Gehenna is really cool, I thought the narrator was very charming, and I enjoyed the drier, more serious tone it had going for it. Butcher Rose was a cool villain with a kickass design, and I really liked the music.
1. Guns, Love, and Tentacles
While I think Bounty of Blood is overall more well made, GLaT has more that appeals to me personally. While I haven't dove too deep into Lovecraftian/cosmic horror fiction, I really like supernatural stories, so this was right up my alley. Xylourgos was my most memorable environment thanks to the unnerving atmosphere and wacky characters, such as Mancubus and the townsfolk (I'm always a sucker for snowy environments, too). I also think it was the most interesting in terms of new enemies, and while Eleanor and Vincent were just kinda meh villains I thought the Bonded as a whole were cool.
Plus, having an entire DLC story centered around an MLM romance was very cool, and I really enjoyed getting to help Alistair and Winny get hitched :'). And GAAAAAIIIIIIGE!!!! MY GIRL RETURNED! She was my main in Borderlands 2, so getting to have her back was a dream come true. While I don't like how they just made her a depressed alcoholic with none of her old friends (grrr), everything else about her appearance here was perfect in my opinion. Having her be the wedding planner was genius, and she was the perfect blend of peppy and eccentric. I loved this dlc a whole lot from start to finish, and while I think BoB is a little higher quality from an objective standpoint this is the one that ticked the most boxes for me!
