You had been sitting around and thinking for a while now, trying to figure out how to confront Richie. You had been trying not to think about it but at the same time, it’s all you could think about. It was like a game of ping-pong going back and forth in your brain from idea to the next.

Eventually you came to the conclusion that there wasn’t going to be an easy way to confront him, so you decided on just going to his house and confronting him.

Except you hadn’t gathered the courage to actually go over to his house just yet.

You spent hours pacing, running through the different scenarios from ‘the best thing that can happen’ to the ‘this is literally the worst fucking thing possible’.

You stopped pacing and agreed with yourself that the best thing to do is to rip the band-aid off and just get it over with.

Which is how you found yourself on his front porch about to knock on his door. Your breathing felt erratic, from biking there or the situation, who knows. You hold your hand up in a fist, getting ready to knock, but hesitating to do so, just letting it hang in the air for god knows how long.

You were back in your pacing set of mind, deciding whether this was actually a good idea, deciding if you should just turn around and forget this all together.

Knock Knock Knock.

You had blacked out. You knocked on his door.

Welp, there’s no backing out now. You were bathing in your anxiety waiting for him to answer. It felt like forever when he finally opened the door, and when he did you felt your heart break. He looked almost ill. His eyes were darker than normal, his bags were huge, his dark circles made his eyes look sunken in, his usually curly hair looked flat and messy, almost like he had been pushing it back with his hands. Overall, he did not look like himself. He didn’t look like the Richie you’ve known.

You both looked at each other, but didn’t say a thing until you finally spoke up. “Riche, can we talk?” Your voice didn’t feel like yours, it felt alien. You could see panic cross through his features, but he nodded and let you in anyways. Opening the door wider, he lets you in and closes the door behind you when you enter. He turns around and immediately heads to his room, not saying anything as he passes by you. You feel a lump in your throat, dreading going into his room because of what had happened last time you were in his room.

Your legs felt like sticks of lead. Heavy. You didn’t want to go to his room, but you sucked it up and went anyway. You were going to do this whether you liked it or not.

Entering his room, you notice Richie sitting at his desk chair, facing away from you. You take a deep breath and internally pray to God, hoping this doesn’t go wrong.

“Richie?” nothing.

“Richie.” he turns his face towards you. Not enough to be fully looking at you, but enough that you knew he was listening. You take a deep breath, and exhale, “Do you…Are we still together?” Silence. You could only hear your’s and his breathing. Your heart was breaking, you could hear the cracking the more the silence was prolonged. All of sudden the idea of confronting him wasn’t so good anymore. You prepared yourself for the worst but it still hurt. You bite your lip, begging yourself not to burst into tears, fearing that he would see you as a ‘crybaby’ again. You nod your head and slowly start turning to make your exit.

“Yes.”

“Huh?”

“I said yes. We are still together.” You start to turn around, and this time Richie was standing and facing you. He looked so sad, so heart broken, you didn’t know what to do. You stood there, trying to figure out what to say to him, only coming up short. He walked toward you, holding eye contact as he did, “Did you hear me? We are. Still. Together.” He enunciated each word as he stalked toward you.

“Then why haven't you talked to me?” You whispered, but by the time he was close enough to hear you.

“You haven’t said anything to me for weeks Richie. What am I supposed to think???” You felt the tears, you felt the bottled up anger starting to boil.

“Why did you fight me? Why were you so upset?? Why did you lash out and call me one of the things you know I’m insecure about!?!?” You felt the tears, you felt the sting of it. You were laying it all out in front of him, not caring anymore. You just needed the answers.

He didn’t say anything, he walked to you and hugged you to his chest. You froze, not expecting this, you wanted to fight it, not give in so easily.

“Why Richie, Why why why why why why!” you were sobbing, body racking sobs. Richie held your waist with one hand, used his other to gently hold your head all while gently shushing you and rocking.

“I’m so sorry. There is no good excuse for me lashing out at you. I’m so sorry baby.” He continues rocking you, he even kisses your forehead, leaving his lips on it longer than usual.

“Why? That is all I’m asking.” You’ve pulled away by now and look him in the eyes, waiting for an answer. He looks at you and sighs.

“Henry Bowers was being an ass, more than usual.” You scoff. Richie sends you a quick glare, but continues on anyway.

“He was such an asshole. He was saying these horrible things about me, about our friends, about you. It made my skin crawl.” He looked down at you searching for a sign for him to stop, but he found none so he kept going.

“On top of that I was already having a bad day. I tripped when getting up to go to the bathroom which earned a lot of unwanted attention. I got a bad grade on that math test in Mr. Moran’s class that I thought I did well on.” He kept listing things and as it happened it just got worse. You felt bad for him, so bad, but you weren’t going to let what he said and did to you slide.

“And on top of th-”

“Baby, I get what you mean. But you still haven’t apologized to me yet.” He stops mid way to acknowledge what you were saying.

“I get that you were having a horrible day, we all do. But instead of lashing out at me, just tell me.” You look at his eyes for any response, waiting for him to apologize to you.

“I’m so sorry.” He looks so sincere.

“I’m so sorry, love. You trusted me with a very big thing and I threw it back at ya. On top of that I yelled at you. I’m so sorry, can you forgive me?” He brings your hand up to his mouth and he slowly starts kissing each knuckle while giving you puppy dog eyes.

God you can’t resist them and he knows it

You roll your eyes and stall the situation. You enjoy seeing Richie grovel for you.

“Fine, I guess I can accept your apology.” at the end of your sentence you start smiling, no longer being able to keep it in anymore. Richie smiles so wide it almost looks painful. He grabs you and holds you again while profusely thanking you.

“You’re welcome my love.” you say while kissing his head. You grab his face making him level with you, “Promise me if anything happens, you tell me instead of letting your emotions control you, yeah?”

“I promise.” He says it in a whisper, almost too quiet, but you caught it. You smile, pulling his face closer towards him and kiss him.

God did it feel good to do that again, it had been too long.

Port Explosion in Beirut,

A few minutes after 6pm on August 4, 2020, a massive explosion shook Beirut, obliterating its port and destroying swathes of the city. 

At least 200 people were killed and more than 6,000 injured when 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate detonated. The material had been stored in a warehouse in Beirut’s port since being seized by custom authorities in 2014, despite repeated warnings of the danger from port officials and its proximity to a densely populated area of the city.

With that being said if your favourite non-American public person is "flaming" Americans right now, and are acting insensitive, I want you know that we're holding tf back because oh my goodness no one in Europe and/or UK thought he'd win

If your favourite American public person is annoyed, that could be for many reasons:

They're a woman

They're part of the LGBTQIA+ community

They're a doctor

They're a person of colour

They want healthcare and access to medical support

They don't want their money spend even more on the military despite it being strong enough

They don't want taxes to raise

They are upset that people like Elon Musk will be getting away with the health and safety violation that he put onto his worker leading to 10,000 people world wide feeling unsafe in the work environment and even resulting in deaths; because he support Trump in which he fully acknowledged this in an interview saying "if he doesn't win then I'm so f*cked"

All the other millionaires and/or billionaire that have broke the law, but broke the bank for Trump and now don't have to worry; leaving thier victims without

Victims of violence regard the political state REGARDLESS of sides will no longer be helped

People seeking education

People with student loans that need to be repaid

Or just people who aren't idiots

Women who don't want to go through the pain of miscarriage

And all the people who just think women should have rights who aren't women

You will all be effected by this, and (other countries) have predicted it will set you back 50 years

New York has already aimed to pass a bill to protect the rights of the LGBTQIA+ and abortions laws and many aim to do the same so stay watching

This will probably be my only update on the matter because I'm a UK college student, way invested into worldwide fuck ups and don't have the time to be the middle man

I'd recommend youtube channel TheWashingtonPost for any/the major of political news because they tend to have unbiased explanations and simple breakdowns
