“Yay, si ate Neko! Ate Neko!” said these children as we were about to take this photo. My heart fluttered. I signed up to volunteer for The Storytelling Project (TSP) out of personal interest and the goal to make a difference – in this world, in others’ lives, to myself. What I did not expect was the empowerment I would experience and also impart as I spend my days being a volunteer. Oral storytelling is one of my waterloos, to be honest. I stutter when I have to speak out to a big crowd and my nervousness would be undeniable. Also, truth be told, I am not as fond of children as I am with babies. However, my experience with the TSP family and these TSP kids of Pagsawitan Elementary School has broaden my perspective and has instilled in me a love for telling stories that even when I get home after a session, I’d call out my little neighbours and have our own storytelling session at home. Kuya Rey and Ate Grace’s advocacy to educate and impart the love of reading is just so contagious and inspiring. I guess I was hooked as it brought its brand of “happy learning” to the people of Pagsawitan Elementary School, the TSP volunteers, and (indirectly) to my life. Moreover, these TSP kids of the school won a special place in my heart. I thought when I volunteered I’d impart more of myself and my skills when in fact, it was which thought me a lot of things. When you work with passion and put your heart in it, it’ll return to you three-folds.☺️💖📖✨ Posted this as a promise that this won't be my last time to volunteer, so much so to story-tell. There's still so much to IMAGINE, CREATE and SHARE. Ako ay isang kwentista. Kwentista ako! #WeAreTSP #TheStorytellingProject #Volunteerism #VolunteerAtHeart #ArtOfEducation #artsmonthph2017 (at Pagsawitan, Sta. Cruz Laguna)

11 Questions
I was tagged by @sonador-reveur and @mcubed35 on my main (thewarlordscontract).
1) How many works in progress to do you currently have? The Warlord’s Contract, the first book in a new adult fantasy trilogy. ( 95% finished with the third draft.) The Pearl’s Refrain, a short stand alone steampunk-fantasy. (65% finished with the first draft.)
2) Do you/would you write fan fiction? I like fanfiction but I can’t seem to get into the heads of character who aren’t my own, so I’m going to leave it to the people who do it better then me ;)
3) Do you prefer real books or e-books? I love real books, but ebooks are just so much cheaper and more practical so I have a lot more of them then real books.
4) When did you start writing? I started role playing when I was 11, and then a year of two after that I started my first “novel.” I didn’t finish anything but short stories until I turned 23 though.
5) Do you have someone you trust that you share your work with? My awesome critical partners, and my beta readers.
6) Where is your favourite place to write? I prefer to write in the living room with the windows open to the backyard, but since my laptop broke I have to leave it in my room.
7) Favourite childhood book? The pony pals. I was that kid who read early elementary grade books about horses at the same time as things like Eragon. (If it didn’t have horses or dragons or cats I didn’t want anything to do with it.)
8) Writing for fun or writing for publication? Writing because it’s fun but hoping to publish because if I can support myself off something I enjoy I’ll be ecstatic.
9) Pen and paper or computer? Always computer.
10) Have you ever taken any writing classes? Went to a conference once, and I’ve taken classes that help with writing aspects of certain characters, but otherwise I learn by practice and accepting critique.
11) What inspires you to write? Being able to share my work with others. If I wasn’t so excited for the rest of the world to experience the stories in my head, I would just keep making them up and never writing them down.

I know there’s a lot of tag games going around right now, so don’t feel obligated to do this ;)
