If I had a nickel for every movie I watched this week where a guy who is strongly implied but never explicitly stated to be autistic visits violence upon rich people in an ironic inversion of the normalized violence they inflict on him in their day to day, where the guy in question is meant to be a complex figure, equal parts cathartic and disquieting to the audience, I'd have two nickels

god forgive me for being a freak on the freak site, but I wish my first girlfriend had left me a mark. not a love bite but a scar, taken her hunting knife to my gut. I wish I could press my fingers to it and still feel an ache. show it to future partners and ask if they would leave me one too, a measure of time and love.

Okay slayed. Can we also talk about how much Steve would kill Kurt if he tried to hurt you during his #thelesson antics
yes omg, modern day steve moment where he gets a call from you where you sound just so incoherent and scared. he flips out, trying to get you to say what happened but all you do is scream at him for help.
he finds your location through find my iphone and tracks you down to a gas station where you are bloody and so worn out.
turns out kurt gave you a ride and tried to have sex with you on stream after he had killed bobby. you freaked out and told him that you just needed a ride home and he turned to you in the passenger seat and stabbed you, his hope that it would be the best kill so far. you freak out and unbuckle yourself before he can put his hands on you again, opening the door and rolling out of the car.
you were lucky you found yourself on the sidewalk. kurt stopped but you ran as fast as you could, hand pressed against your wound that sat in your stomach. the adrenaline running through your body made you fast, able to get away and hide. kurt had to eventually run back to his car when he heard cop sirens in the distance.
that’s when you call steve to come get you.
and once you both get to a hospital, he paces around your bed and keeps going on and on about how he wants to kill kurt. he called the police and told them everything about the killings. he kept reporting kurt’s stream as well, trying to get it taken down.

Have you seen Spree starring Joe Keery? If so, what are your thoughts on it? (I'm not trying to start discourse btw in case that's a concern I'm just genuinely curious to hear your opinion lel)
Okay this ask has been in my box forever and I just literally got through watching it in the Boiler Lounge with my friends! I adored this movie. Like this is probably the most real and accurate look at social media and influencer and streamer culture. It was bloody and hilarious.
And as for Kurt! Well. I shall not lie. His rancid energy and his girlfailure, sopping wet vibe got me. I find myself bewitched by his awful content and his horrible internet presence and yes, by #TheLesson and his pussy too.

15. Favorite movie?
I am incredibly bad at favorite questions so I'll just tell you three really good movies I've watched recently. I watched But I'm a Cheerleader a couple months ago and it really was pretty great, I also got around to Everything Everywhere All at Once and that's also amazing, and recently I was in a discord call and made to watch Spree with a couple other folks and I absolutely fucking loved that film #thelesson. So ya know there are three favorites I guess 👍

Manically energetic, Eugene Kotlyarenko’s SPREE (2020, Hulu but not for long) covers up its flaws with some exciting filmmaking and a charismatic performance by Joe Keery. He stars as Kurt, a would be social-media titan stuck in a job as a rideshare driver. To go viral, he decides to launch “#thelesson,” a livestream tutorial on how to use his job to kill people. Kotlyarenko and co-writer Gene McHugh wisely make the victims utterly obnoxious. They’re hardly deserving of death, but it’s still fun to see Keery take out racists, misogynists and wannabe fashion mavens. And the writers keep the one sympathetic character, an aspiring comic played very well by Sasheer Zamata, as a background figure until she’s needed at the end to generate suspense. Kotlyarenko is committed to being as outrageous as possible, which makes for some funny, slapstick murder scenes. But the film also goes off the rails at times and even tips the scales into ugliness before bouncing back for an energetic, funny finale. The real horror, of course is in the comments urging Keery to kill more and the rising viewer numbers as his spree escalates. David Arquette is on-hand briefly as Keery’s father, with Jessalyn Gilsig, John DeLuca, Mischa Barton and Frankie Grande among the victims. It may be too much for some — and social media is rather an easy target — but I had a lot of fun watching the film take potshots at our hyper-connected, fame-obsessed culture.
