I Don't Need Heroics, I Just Need My Dad

Summary: All Might crushed Izuku dreams and all his hero worship along with them. Regardless, Izuku accepts his offer to train him and give him a quirk since it's apparently the only way for him to be a hero. Problems arrive fast as All Might somehow manages to make heroics sound less and less appealing as time passes, especially with that successor talk Izuku never agreed to, culminating in the UA entrance exam when Izuku's finally had enough.

He isn't sure what he wants but he knows he's not ready to be a hero when the quirk he was given vaporizes his bones. He needs time to sort himself out, something he can do now that his dad has won full custody of him. He may not go to UA but his family and the friends he's made over the past 10 months will support him anyway.

Unfortunately no one thought to explain that to All Might, who somehow never figured out Izuku very obviously didn't intend to be the next Symbol of Peace, leaving the man to jump to wild conclusions. This wasn't helped by Inko being dead set on getting Izuku back before all her lies get found out and her reptuaion tanks.

A perfect storm is brewing and honestly? Izuku would really just like a nap.

Izuku is tired. He's tired of his friends treating him like trash except to leach off his ranking, of the HPSC working him to the bone without a single day off, and of everyone and their dog watching him like he's public entertainment without a care for his privacy.

Izuku just wants it all to stop. It's even reached the point where he doesn't even want to do hero work. He needs a long extended break but the commission would never allow it. They want him to be All Might 2.0 but he's not. All he is now is tired. Unsure how much more he can take and seeing no end in sight, he decides to just disappear for a while. With a little help from Hitoshi he assumes a new civilian identity and focuses on himself for a change.

The freedom to just be is everything he needed and more. He's finally feeling like a person again for the first time in years. It doesn't hurt he gets to spend so much time with Hitoshi now. Between self care, self discovery, and the budding feelings for Hitoshi, Izuku hardly has in him to care that he's still considered a missing person. With the nation wide man hunt for the missing number one ongoing will Japan get their symbol back or will Izuku find happiness in a different role all together?

Shouta and Izuku might have worked out their misunderstanding but now what happens next isn't up to them. Judgment Day is here and within the next few hour Izuku's fate will be decided.

Will Ms. Hina approve of Shouta's home and the care he's provided for Izuku? Or will Izuku have to leave the den he loves so much?

Hopefully the verdict is in their favor because Shouta's not above starting a fight if it comes down to that. Izuku is his kid now, and no case worker is going to change that.

Izuku Midoriya never really had a chance to have a normal life. First he was born quirkless then he was adopted by the Hero Commissions so he never had time for a social life.

Now with three jobs he really doesn't have time for a social life, not that his adopted brother Pro Hero Hawks seems to understand that as he continues to try to push him into situations with other teens. Between being the underground half of Birds of a Feather agency, a secretary with a gift for paperwork, and a skilled analyst, though he's rather good at avoiding his brother's attempts to get him to socialize. After all, he has responsibilities to fulfill and expectations to meet to keep the commission happy, to make them proud of him and prove he was worth their time.

Socializing becomes unavoidable however when he's hired by Nezu after the USJ incident to do analysis of his students & staff. To do that he must pose as a hero student temporarily transferring to UA, allowing everyone to act naturally while he observes. While he's normally a rather good actor, he has no idea what normal teens are like. It doesn't help that his classmates seem to be mainly overly friendly extroverts.

He's not sure he'll survive this.

Izuku Midoriya never really had a chance to have a normal life. First he was born quirkless then he was adopted by the Hero Commissions so he never had time for a social life.

Now with three jobs he really doesn't have time for a social life, not that his adopted brother Pro Hero Hawks seems to understand that as he continues to try to push him into situations with other teens. Between being the underground half of Birds of a Feather agency, a secretary with a gift for paperwork, and a skilled analyst, though he's rather good at avoiding his brother's attempts to get him to socialize. After all, he has responsibilities to fulfill and expectations to meet to keep the commission happy, to make them proud of him and prove he was worth their time.

Socializing becomes unavoidable however when he's hired by Nezu after the USJ incident to do analysis of his students & staff. To do that he must pose as a hero student temporarily transferring to UA, allowing everyone to act naturally while he observes. While he's normally a rather good actor, he has no idea what normal teens are like. It doesn't help that his classmates seem to be mainly overly friendly extroverts.

He's not sure he'll survive this.

MHA fanfic recommendation

Hi! So I kind of want to preface this by saying, I don’t like MHA all that much (which seems kinda weird since I’m writing a fanfic recommendation for the fandom ( ・∇・)) but! This fic needs to be talked about more as I never see anyone talk about it!

The book is titled Black Rabbit by TheFoggyLondonView. This is one of my absolute favorite fics and I do believe that it needs more love! First I’ll explain some of the story behind it and then talk about why I love it so much!

(I’m gonna try really hard to not spoil anything really important!) So, this fanfic is a Vigilante!Izuku au where Izuku’s vigilante name is Black Rabbit. I would also note that it’s a TodoDeku fic incase you don’t like the ship. They also go to UA in this so you still get to see all of your favorite cast! Also there is a side plot of Aizawa trying to adopt Black Rabbit (who he doesn’t know the identity of)!

So now I’ll explain why I like this so much! First of all I love vigilante and adoption aus (very evident from my bookmarks in the DSMP fandom lol) so to see one for MHA definitely made me really excited! Another thing is that I really adore how Izuku is personalized in this story as it’s kinda a spin on his normal personality! The last reason I like this would have to be that this is one of the fics that made me want to write my own fanfiction and I also really like the authors writing style!

Shouta and Izuku might have worked out their misunderstanding but now what happens next isn't up to them. Judgment Day is here and within the next few hour Izuku's fate will be decided.

Will Ms. Hina approve of Shouta's home and the care he's provided for Izuku? Or will Izuku have to leave the den he loves so much?

Hopefully the verdict is in their favor because Shouta's not above starting a fight if it comes down to that. Izuku is his kid now, and no case worker is going to change that.
