There's such a dynamic there, so much drama, so much banter, so many ways to write them interacting that it drives me crazy. I love them. They're one of the only enemies-to-friends/enemies-to-lovers ships that I like. I'm also very picky about how they're written lol

Happy holidays! Whatever you celebrate, it's a good time of year for fluffy, cuddly romances. We have a particular wealth of holiday fanfic in the rebelcap fandom due to our Rebelcaptain Secret Santa gift exchange (now in its third year, oh my!) Have a look at some of my faves, listed below.

6 chapters, 12k, Modern AU, rated E for some sexytimes in later chapters

Jyn and Cassian's families have known each other forever, but individually, they've never gotten along. Then an elderly relative gets the wrong idea about their relationship. Cassian adores his abuelita and doesn't want to disappoint her, so they agree to fake-date during the family festivities, scheduling their "breakup" for after the holidays. That is certainly the way this will all work out . . . isn't it?

When I decided to do some holiday stories this month, I knew I had to feature this one, which is one of my favorite modern holiday AUs ever. Jyn is entertainingly Grinchy (cut her a break, she's got two retail-related part-time gigs and a recent breakup under her belt). But right from the beginning, you realize she's not nearly as opposed to Cassian's entire existence as she says she is. There's faking it for an audience and Christmassy snark and denial and the aforementioned sexytimes and just good stuff all around. Read it!

Something Better Than Socks (or a blaster) by TheCrowMaiden

One-shot, 2k words, canon-verse

Struggling to find the perfect gift for Cassian, Jyn checks in with all the members of Rogue One, who all have their own ideas about what he would like. But of course, it's K-2 who leads her to a gift that's just right. 

It's hard to find an in-universe holiday fic, mostly because all we have in the way of holidays in Star Wars is Life Day. This one gets extra points with me for its thoughtful inclusion of the whole gang, and the way it shows Jyn's individual relationships with them as well as with Cassian. Also with a touch of ace!Cassian.

One-shot, 3k, modern AU

Jyn is flying to visit her father for Christmas. But her heart yearns for Cassian, whom she hasn't seen in far too long, and who is going to have a miserable, solitary Christmas in Mexico City. There are all sorts of reasons not to change her plans. She always spends Christmas at home, it would be so expensive, she's literally already at the airport waiting to board her plane. But there's one giant reason to get on a plane to Mexico instead, and that's Cassian.

For a fic with such a simple and apparently low-stakes premise like a long-distance relationship, Guineapiggie packs in the angst and makes us feel Jyn's heart tearing with how much she misses Cassian. Later on, from Cassian's POV, we also see how much the separation is wearing on him too. Of course, we all know how this story ends, because it can't end any other way - with Jyn coming home for Christmas.

Most likely to wave at someone who was not waving at them? Most likely to eat pizza with a knife and fork? Aaaaand most likely to listen to the same song multiple times in a row?

Ha ha, these are great! 

 It is a tie between Carson and Robble of who is most likely to wave at someone who was not waving at them, but whoever does do that will be teased mercilessly by the other. Those two act pretty much like twins.

Cy is most likely to eat pizza with a knife and fork. He doesn't like the feeling of grease on his hands. Dirt from the garden- that's totally fine, but not grease. 

Lysses is most likely to listen to the same song multiple times in a row when he's deep into slicing/coding something. It helps him concentrate.

You’re both extremely talented writers, from the way you set the scene to delivering the dialogue so well I can clearly hear it in the characters’ voices. It flowed so naturally I’m absolutely geeking out over it!

Bad Days

MHA fanfiction basically built around the headcannon that Toshinori has chronic pain from his scar. Mentions of blood and general medical stuff because this man is not healthy.

Sometimes Toshinori has bad days.

He doesn’t know for sure what triggers them - maybe twisting strangely, maybe moving too much, maybe just breathing. But eventually, one way or another, worse pain than usual would flare in the gnarled scar tissue in his side and he would be completely out of commission for at least a day.

2: Post a line of dialogue from your OC.

This is a tough one. He’s so quiet, a lot of my favorite Cy moments are his own thoughts rather than anything he says out loud. And much of this fic needs more context than can easily be given. So, this is more than a line of dialogue, but I think it stands well on it’s own.

A memory surfaced, and he let it flow.

He remembered their days together as SeniorPadawans when Raen had begun formal training as a healer. Even as younglingsthey had both been strongly attuned to the Living Force, something Cy suspectedhad been part of what brought them together in the first place. Over timeRaen’s gifts blossomed into one of the rarest talents for a Jedi, healing.Already paired with a Jedi Master for several years, and not wanting to leaveher, they would learn healing arts when they were at the Temple, but were alsostill assigned regular missions on their journey towards knighthood. Trainingto become a healer would start in earnest after they were knighted.

“I think Master Che is trying to kill me,” Raensaid, falling back into the grass. They worked the hair tie out of their sweatycopper hair and let it fan out around their head like the stellar halo of aneclipsing planet.

“Well,” Cy said dryly, “at least if she did, sheif anyone is prepared to bring you back from the brink so she can work you todeath again.”

10: You are conducting a ritual. What 5 items would you need to summon your OC?

A pot of tea, a cup, a plant, a Jedi holocron, and an interesting book. Not only will that summon him, but that will keep him in place for several hours.

15: Your OC is given the chance to go back in time. Where do they go and what do they do?

Hoo boy would he jump at the chance for that one. Provided that this chance is given once things have settled down enough that it is clear that Chancellor/Emperor Palpatine is in fact the other Sith the Jedi were looking for, Cy would want to go back a couple of months before the Battle of Naboo. I am assuming that the general details of that mission are well enough known to your average Knight since that incident led to the discovery of the Sith’s return, Qui-Gon’s death, and a VONC leading to a new Chancellor. Cy would head straight to the Jedi council and convince them to let him speak to the full council. Something like:

“I know this is unbelievable, but please listen to what I am about to say. Somehow, the Force has sent me back here from 15 years in the future. We have one shot to prevent the fall of the Republic and the destruction of the Jedi Order that has occured in the time I am from. The trade disputes around Naboo and the Trade Federation are going to get worse. In two months the Queen of Naboo is going to ask for our help in negotiations of a trade blockade of her planet led by Nute Gunray. This is a trap. There will be a Dathomirian Zabrak Sith apprentice involved in this dispute, and we need to track him back to his Sith Master and kill them both once we have indisputable evidence of their treason against the Republic. The Sith Master is Senator Palpatine of Naboo. I will submit to any questioning or tests to prove that I am telling the truth. Oh, and someone should keep an eye on Master Dooku. He became the Sith Apprentice sometime after the Dathomirian was killed, but I think that’s still preventable at this point.”

Then he would go to the creche with the intention of picking up Khlora and hugging her because he misses being able to pick her up. He would get halfway there before realizing that she hasn’t met him yet and if he were to do that he would probably get bitten, and he wouldn’t blame her. When they did first meet is only a few months ahead of him, and he would be standing in the hallway debating if he should try to replicate their first accidental meeting as it was when it was, when Raen finds him. Raen came looking for him because it must be a bizarre feeling over a Force Bond when the other party in that is suddenly displaced in time.

Khlora

9: Your OC is having a nightmare. What is it?

What isn’t it? She’s lived through a lot of nightmare fodder and I don’t think anyone, Jedi or clone alike, doesn’t have PTSD from the Clone Wars. Likely a nightmare about the Clone Wars that consists of being overrun by droids and everyone dying. If I want to be absolutely horrible I could say that there might be some nightmares induced by being on Coruscant in the days following the 501st’s march on the Temple because all of that death might have some kind of reverberation in the Force, and that might be a Unifying Force type thing which is what she’s more attuned to.

12: What does your OC give another OC for their birthday?

Despite having some very basic interests of tea and plants, Cy is not an easy person to buy for. He definitely does not want a lot of stuff. Khlora typically conspires with Raen to plan a trip for the three of them (or four, sometimes Cy’s former master Arriaddik can join them too) offworld to somewhere with beautiful wilderness to stay for about a week.

17: How does your OC do during the zombie apocalypse?

She’s pretty okay. She has good survival skills, and would likely hole up somewhere remote until she comes up with some kind of plan to put an end to this. She prefers bladed weapons, but would get better with a rifle since that has a greater range so there’s less risk of contamination.

Well, this is it. This is the moment everything was DONE FOR ME...🥺 Two years ago today.

In general, star wars has been an intense hyperfixation and bringer of joy (and pain) in my life, but if I'm being fully honest I wouldn't have become NEARLY as crazy about it if it wasn't for Rex! 👉👈 if I hadn't fallen in love with him and spent a craaazy amount of time developing my self insert and relationship not only to him but to every character in the franchise!

Because I fell in love with REX. The beauty and the tragedy of his story, of his struggle, of his betrayals and his triumphs.

Rex, who's a devoted soldier to the very end. Who takes his position seriously, but still makes jokes and has a sense of humor. Who shoulders all the responsibility of a captain, is a confident and disciplined leader yet still tries to take the fall for his brothers when he can. Who fought for them, and lived for the ones he lost.

Rex, who took a chance on a rogue Jedi to start a new life with her, becoming a husband and father. 🥺💙💙 whose love can reach across the stars. I love you, Rex. And that will never, ever change.

SOMEHOW i didnt see this movie until this year but god i love it. i love it. i really love horror musicals + horror comedies so, obviously i loved it. rick moranis is a TERRIBLE singer and i love it. i love this film also with the knowledge that if it came out this year seymour would be the new tumblr softboy. i actually accidentally watched the scrapped ending before the actual one? so i thought that like seymour and audrey died n all that. watching the actual ending was an accident altho a pleasant one. anyway its a great movie w a good soundtrack and i love seymour obviously
