The Black Veils have said addio to the dastardly deeds of spring and ciao to summer with the celluloid version of their single “The Comforting Taste of Another Springtime Torture.”
The Bologna based group, Gregor Samsa (Vocals), Mario d’Anelli (Guitars/Synth/Drum Machine/Drums), Filippo Scalzo (Bass) mine the briskly paced sound of guitar based post-punk on their latest single. Dreamy at its core, but bristling with anxiety, “The Comforting Taste of Another Springtime Torture” is loaded with ringing guitars, impassioned vocals, and a driving bass that refuses to exit your feeble mind.
The Black Veils skim just enough from the post-punks groups of yore while maintaining their modern presence amongst like-minded guitar goths like Father Sculptor & Future Faces (and kudos to singer Gregor Samsa for having the gusto to let loose some legit screams).
