Rewatched The Rum Tum Tugger (1998) one (1) time and was violently reminded that this is in fact the best musical ever written and it’s actually extremely homophobic that I can’t be in it

I realized I never posted these here on tumblr! 2020 did unspeakable things to my mind and body…I staggered away from lockdown with a whole pitch of how I would make an animated Cats adaptation. I got the whole thing up here *taps skull*—it would be Very Good. I can’t think about it too much lest I awaken my sleeping obsession…still want to finish Old Deut and Macavity one of these days.

Fun fact: The term "Jellicle Cat" is actually the cats’ mishearing of the term "Dear Little Cat" (this gives me much joy)

CATS!! I can't stop thinking about this musical and these characters! I keep trying to figure out how Id personally translate their designs for things like animation and/or comics. plenty of these I'm not 100% satisfied with and I'm sure they'll change but here's at least my first attempt for posterity. I feel like I drew SO many cats and yet there are SO many I have YET to draw OTL

I think Tugger showered Mistoffelees in compliments and snuggles after the Jellicle ball and Misto was doing his best to not combust due to sheer happiness.

Fun fact

Did you know that Maine Coons wag their tails much more often than other breeds? They wag their tails quite a bit not only when they are angry, but also when they are happy, excited or just calm.

I just know that when Old Deuteronomy arrives, both munkustrap and tugger are a mess of wagging tails.
