Anyway, here's a fun question for you whenever you feel up to answering it: what's Lily Holland's favourite book?

(hang on can five year olds read??.... you know what she's smart i bet she can at least a bit. or maybe her mom or mr. marshmallow reads to her. the question still stands.)

Lmaooooo thanks for reminding me that is a setting I have to enable (also literally no worries at all have followed and unfollowed and followed again multiple ppl because I am as ancient as the wind and have the technological skills of a blind bat; many thanks for tumblr being very patient and kind with me); so it should work now (feel free to test at some point).

Hmmmmm, I'd argue that Lily isn't really much of a big reader (she can read, but she struggles with it because none of the books her reading level are interesting to her). She's more of a hands-on imaginative arts-n-crafts (she's just gotten into sewing because she loves people's pretty dresses; this will be a hobby she will keep forever), baking (for tea parties), cosplay (as a result of sewing and fashion), etc.

She is, however, very fond of making Mr. Marshmallow read her stories (this is another reason why people are convinced Mr. Marshmallow and isn't real because what kind of dog can read? they are also convinced that Lily is faking not being able to read as well as she can because how is this child so knowledgeable but still struggles with words? *Cries in my baby is not a homeschooled bean.*)

Mr. M often finds himself in a quandary every once in awhile because Lily's propensity of finding things she really shouldn't be allowed to is very strong (how in the infernal did she get her hands on a real Necronomicon, and why does she have "The Monster Hunter's Almanac") and Mr. M now has to either redirect her attention (he is really not paid enough for this) or "read" (aka lie his way through the pages and dread the day that her reading skills get good enough to catch on).

Their current favorite compromise between fantasy/fairytale and creepy is reading some Grimm's fairytales. Also Mr. Marshmallow will tell a lot of his own stories as a working hellhound (the toned-down PG version, ofc).

Also I think I would die for Stella: she reminds me a lot of one of my real life friends especially the "How much I love them. Which is really more about me, I think, but still, that's significant" and the rollerskating, and the cats.

Meet Lily Holland from The Princess and the Hellhound, a tale I've only talked about on here once and fidget with the world every once in awhile. She is a small lil bean who becomes princess of hell after befriending a hellhound.

Were you named after anyone?

My brother Jimmy says it's short for lilywort but I don't believe him because he has a history of not telling the truth. I've asked Mom but she hasn't really said much yet and as far as I know I've got no relatives named after me so I guess I am the first one! Which means I have got a lot of work to do to make sure that I am the Best Lily in our family.

When was the last time you cried?

Lily: I was running with Mr. Marshmallow at recess thsi morning and I fell and I hit my knee. See??? *Lily lifts up her skirt to reveal a knee that is barely scratched and is covered by three disney princess bandages.* I know Mr. Marshmallow told me to be careful but like it's fun to go fast and it doesn't hurt that much anymore.

Mr Marshmallow: maybe listen to me next time please before you get even more hurt.

Do you have any kids?

Lily: Not bio-biol-biologickally

*Mr Marshmallow: Biologically*

Lily: (I am six) but I love and care for all of my adopted children as if they were my borned children. she is referring to her large collection of dolls and stuffed animals.

Lily: Mr Marshmallow, what's sarcasm?

Lily: No, his name's Jimmy.

What is the first thing you notice about people?

Mr. Marshmallow: Whether or not they're still alive

Lily: PINK AND PURPLE!

Mr. Marshmallow: Eye color, not favorite color. Your eyes are blue.

Lily: oh.

Lily: Does Mr. Marshmallow count even if my parents say he doesn't exist?

Mr. Marshmallow: If you're counting me as a pet dog, I'm counting you as a pet human baby.

What sort of sports do you play?

Lily: FETCH

What was your favorite subject in school?

Lily: i like story time! we get to talk about many different things and meet many different people and see lots of cool pictures and Mrs. K lets us pick out different books Every Day. Isn't that so cool??

Mr. Marshmallow: I like naptime. Naptime is fun.

What is your dream job?

Lily: I wanna be a fashion designer princess fairy detective librarian queen tea party inspector girlboss when I grow up. I know its going to be a lot of hard work but I think I can do it.

Mr. Marshmallow: Retired.

For HCY, I’d like to think Queen!Reader starts an educational program of sorts where Charlie learns her ABCs and such with other little Hellborn children, specifically Imps and Hellhounds. The Queen sees the caste system in Hell and of course disapproves, so decides that shifting things into a more balanced, less discriminatory state by having the future leader of Hell in league with so called “lower class” kids is a huge benefit to society in Hell, on top of allowing Charlie to grow up with and make friends with children her own age.

But!!!! What if!!!! The Princess’ entire kingdom is a werewolf kingdom. And!!! And maybe the Princess is a vampire from her mother’s side. Then the Princess’ escape options are even fewer because she can’t go out in the sun. Maybe she even gets addicted to Simon’s blood because of how good it is but hates Johnny’s (says it tastes like a dog’s) - 🕸

vampire king and queen who keep the werewolf population oppressed in their kingdom, and their daughter the princess promises her werewolf guard she'll make changes when she gets into power - but vampires are immortal, so she's stuck waiting for some outside for to kill her parents so she can make real change

but then here comes ghost (wraith? dragon? demon? idk!) who does kill her parents, but he doesn't put princess in power, for obvious reasons.

but... he is making changes. even if johnny's loyalty is to the princess, she never could make real change and ghost definitely is. and he keeps asking johnny for advice on how to best help werewolves, so he really feels like he's actually helping

and princess fucking hates ghost. yes it's good that he's making things better for the wolves, of course, but also... everything gets worse for her. suddenly the entire kingdom is on a day schedule, so princess always feels like she's missing everything.

and ghost does this horribly annoying thing where he always acts like he's doing her a favor. yes she's missing all sorts of meeting with diplomats, but she needs her sleep and he can't restructure everything in the kingdom for one little vampire, can he? no, no, that wouldn't be fair! she'll just have to talk to ghost when she wakes up to catch up on everything she missed <3 johnny can even be there, to make her more comfortable if she'd like

and it would make it so easy for ghost to bring johnny to his side, because he can show him real tangible evidence of what good he's doing. things are getting better, and the proof is right in front of his face everyday that he sees his people freed from their leashes

also princess needing blood but hating johnny's :( johnny hates being fed off of because it goes against every animal instinct he has, but it also hurts his feelings that he apparently tastes like dog and that his favorite person in the world hates the way he tastes. ghost just sees an opportunity, though, and totally forces princess to drink exclusively from him

i like in the vampire diaries how when vampires don't drink enough blood they just slow down a lot and eventually become statues. let's imagine something like that here - princess trudging around all slow and sleepy and ghost just smirking, says oh? did i forget to give you breakfast, princess? i'm so sorry, why dont we fix that. c'mere, on my lap. and holds her real close, keeps a hand on the back of her neck to hold her in place

pulls her off when she tries to take too much :( grabs her by the hair and tugs her right off, smiles a little when she whines and tries to go for more. swipes his fingers over the blood, holds them in front of her mouth and nearly laughs when she licks desperately at each of his fingers to get every little drop
