Teen Wolf Motel California
So many thoughts about Teen Wolf Motel California
#So like I’m well and truly stoned#But like Boyd#This is like a crazy thing to be the third thing we learn about Vernon Boyd#We know he’s lonely. We know he was/is in ROTC. We know that as a child a CHILD his sister went missing#And they don’t even give us all the information about that! That makes me so mad#And Scott#We’ve been fed hints that Scott feels like a failure for three episodes now#And the kind of vision he get is SO INTERESTING. This vision hasn’t happened yet and while it is something we know he worries about#It’s such a specific situation. Why not Matt? Or Gerard? Why Duecalion? The first two have actually threatened Melissa’s life before#The goal was totally for him to want to kill Deucalion#And there were only 3 more deaths predicted not 4#How much of that was Scott and much of it was the Darach?#And then they put that thought in my head and have Scott consistently throw himself at dangerous situations without further addressing this#Ever again#And Issac#Every other time we see him a panic response#it’s like fight or flight (I can’t remember if those are real or not but for the purpose of language and I’m high I’m using them?)#But this time he freezes#Why#and like the whole thing with Ethan too#Like that just makes really neat implications about whatever the fuck the twin wolf mega wolf thing means#Like who has control? Is it equal? Do they know where Ethan starts and Aidan begins?#But like also I’m high and I don’t think the writers thought this much about this shit before writing this episode#It just gives me so many worms in my brain they are eating my brain oh my god#Teen Wolf

It can be argued that it had it's problems, but I loved season 3a. Jennifer is one of my favorite villains and overall characters. Her backstory, her motivations, her choices and actions. One thing I've kinda returned to is her interesting choice in words regarding her sacrificial murders. She says the victims "lended" their power, which we know isn't true. Is it her trying to intentionally make her cruel actions more palpable or does she truly believe these people offered themselves up in a way. And what her thoughts must've been when she reached the Nemeton and sensed a spark of power inside it. She must have known like Deaton that it was a place that hadn't had power in a long time.
Scott: You see this symbol? It's a symbol of revenge. You talk about balance, about saving people. We know what you really want. And now you know where to find us.
I would argue that there's no such thing as perfect media, and while we should never shy away from confronting the flaws in the media we consume, it's missing the point to dwell exclusively on them. We wouldn't love the show so much if it was all bad. So, while there are many things to scorn in Season 3A -- the endless pity party for Killer Derek because he was a sad white man; the way Peter got to swan about as if his serial murders were old news; Cora's egregious misuse; Boyd being murdered in order to pave the way for Derek's redemption when no one was holding him responsible in the first place; the fact that Melissa McCall wasn't given a speech in the root cellar nor a reunion scene with her own son -- there is a lot to praise, and one of the biggest is the way the story of Julia Baccari/Jennifer Blake totally demolishes counter-arguments to Teen Wolf's themes that "revenge is not the same as accountability" and "pain caused by others doesn't give a person the right to inflict pain on other people."
One of the major criticisms of Scott McCall and his role as heroic protagonist is that "he won't get his hands dirty" or "he won't do what's necessary." I would argue, and I have elsewhere, that Scott absolutely did get his hands dirty, he just never crossed the line into deliberately hurting innocent people in order to accomplish his goals. While Peter nattered on about "only responsible ones" and Derek shouted "I can't let her live!" and Deucalion threatened to kill any living thing that got in his way, Jennifer argued that the only way to stop the Alpha Pack and its "piles of bodies" is to kill even more innocent people.
Isn't that what "doing what's necessary" means? It wasn't Derek who stopped the Alpha Pack by his pointless willingness to fight battles he couldn't win. It wasn't Peter's ruthless scheming which mainly consisted on skipping out on battles and scavenging power when he could. Scott didn't stop them either, no matter what Garrett said. It was Jennifer and the power she harvested by murdering innocents. She's the one who killed Kali. She's the one who broke the twins. She would have beat Deucalion's head to a bloody pulp if Derek hadn't interfered.
Isn't this what they say they want? Isn't this Left Hand Bullshit? Doing the unthinkable to protect what's important?
But for all of her protestations that she was doing it for "everyone they'll ever hurt again," she never managed to trust people enough to even consider alternatives. She had an emotional connection to Derek through his sacrifice of Paige. She was in synch with the Nemeton. She obviously had inner knowledge of the workings of the Alpha Pack. If she was solely interested in stopping them, wouldn't it have made more sense to work with Derek?
A possible counter is that to get the power she needed, she had to kill people! And? That didn't seem to be a deal breaker for Derek or Peter, considering their behavior during that season, i.e. "Maybe it would be best to just kill them" or "You can always make more werewolves." And if she could mesmerize Derek as people like to claim, couldn't she use that ability to get him to accept her "necessary evil?"
In other words, while Jennifer had told her self she was doing it for the greater good, as Scott divined, it was ultimately about revenge. She justified -- even to herself -- the murder of innocent people as an act only she had the courage to do, ignoring that this means she had the courage to try another way. In the end, her actions weren't about the stopping the Alpha Pack or even punishing them, it was about her punishing them. "That's right, Kali, look at my face." That's what Derek figured out and how he was able to trick her. If all she did was for the purpose of stopping Deucalion, she wouldn't care about him seeing what his actions had done to her.
And that's the point. Jennifer wasn't a monster. She was extraordinarily sympathetic and I feel she had real feelings for Derek. No one can deny that Jennifer was cruelly used and savagely injured, but in the end, no one can also deny that her pain didn't justify her hurting others, since there was another way. And that's where Scott's optimism makes him the True Alpha, because he doesn't allow the pain of what was done to him confuse issues of right and wrong. It's why he didn't simply switch out Gerard's medication for cyanide or some other lethal poison, because the mountain ash would never have come into play if he could have figured out another way to stop Gerard from making Derek bite hm.
That's how a villain helps develop the heroic protagonist's journey.

Been seeing you getting hate mail and while I absolutely can't understand why anyone would go to all the trouble to make some one else feel bad... I also kinda really love the discourse on Scott? Like YOUR RANTS oh man. On point. Always. Tbh I tried giving Scott a chance... He is the main char after all... But I was like??? Wtf? That dude does nothing but refute others and does whatever he wants. And this was when I didn't particularly like Stiles either (first time watching Teen Wolf). But then I got to know more of him and like Tony he went asshole to lovable asshole—seriously, Stiles might not be the ‘nicest’ but he tries and his heart is in good place—while Scott is just... self-righteous. Someone pointed out that he sees people as possessions and that irks me too that I can actually see it being true. The dude has literally nothing going on except for being the one that gets bitten. And the Romeo-and-Juliet-esque romance he has.
Okay, okay, where was I going with this?? Right. LOVE YOUR RANTS. People need to understand that Scott not being liked isn't because of his race or anything trivial like it—he just happens to be—but because of his actions. Or inactions, as it were. *remembers the pool scene and Scott saying he's busy and resists the urge to chuck a shoe at him*
Basically, love you, love your work, and love your words! ❤️
I've talked with some friends about it, and our number one issue sort of...boiled down to the hypocrisy of the show? I....sort of rant a lot here, and I would add a Read More, but I can't find the option anymore?? I fucking hate Tumblr. EDIT: I found a post that told me how to do it!
So, since he's the character I focus on the most, let's talk about Stiles' morality. Because, you're right. Stiles is an asshole. He does some fucking awful shit in the first season, and even if he had a Reason to do it, it was still bad. And I still don't like it. But I understand it.
Stiles' lack of shits about what is 'lawful' is literally established in the first ten seconds of the show. He's a sheriff's son who sneaks onto people's roofs in the middle of the night bc they aren't answering his calls, who listens in on his dad's work conversations and is willing to fuck up a crime scene because he's so excited about getting to see a dead body. He doesn't care about laws. He doesn't even care about most basic manners (invasion of privacy much, with having Scott sniff Lydia to see if she liked him?). He's a dickhead, even to the people he cares about sometimes. But personality and morality aren't the same. Stiles' entire actual morality system is based around whatever he needs to do to keep the people he loves safe and happy. Lying to his dad so he doesn't get murdered by hunters? Totally fine. Telling Scott that it was "Jackson's own fault" that Scott attacked him with superstrength and dislocated his shoulder, so Scott doesn't feel like an asshole? That's just best friend duties! He will lie, steal, cheat, and he will kill to keep his loved ones safe (let's not forget this boy threw molotovs at Peter, knowing damn well what they would do to him). We can headcanon all we want about all the different people who are in this group of loved ones, but the list is canonically very short: Scott, his dad, and Lydia. Later on, like, past s3B? It includes Derek. Canonically. Stiles puts his life and the lives of others he cares about on the line while he lies to the matriarch of the Calavera hunter clan, to save Derek Hale. Derek is just canonically a part of that group now, and he fucking knows it bc Stiles is his anchor (that's canon too bb). End of Story, Sterek or no Sterek. It's why we get that insane number of lookbacks when Derek is dying before his evolution. Because Stiles is being forced to choose between two people who are BOTH in his ride-or-die group. He Cannot Pick between Scott and Derek, until Derek begs him to leave.
SO, yes, Stiles does fuckface things, and I don't always agree with what he does, but it is ACCURATE TO HIS CHARACTER. He is morally grey. He NEVER CLAIMS to be pure or good or just or righteous. Stiles knows who he is, and he stays true to himself. And I love him for that.
The same goes for a bunch of other characters! For Peter, who is strikingly similar to Stiles, in that family goes above literally everything. Screw the idea that he was following Derek around waiting for the chance to steal back the Alpha spark. That man put his life on the line (his second life, no less) to get the shit beaten out of him until Derek let him help save Derek's life Again and Again. Family Comes First.
Scott's morality is...confusing as fuck. I thought at first he was similar to Stiles, in that family came first, but...while he's protective of his mother, he also does a lot of stuff that puts her at risk without seeming to care/worry (like leaving Peter alone with her once Stiles hits their car, so he can chase Jackson) (or asking her to come to the high school when he's convinced there's a bomber in it)? Seriously, he's more protective over Allison, than his mother. It's very black and white the rest of the time. Very "this bad" "this good." And if you do "bad" then you are bad forever, while if you do "good" you are only good until you do "bad." The Betas were "good" until they asked for the bite, and then they were "Bad." Derek was "bad" when Scott met him and scared him, so after that, no matter how much "good" he did, he remained "bad." But only when it suits him. Allison is good even when she does bad, because he wants her to be good. Chris is good even though he's done mountains of bad, because of the minuscule amount of good that Scott has seen him do, because Scott wants him to be good. Even DEUCALION is good, despite the crazy CRAZY amount of bad he's done and despite having seen him do NO GOOD, just because Scott wants him to be good. Lying to those closest to you is bad, unless Scott is doing it, and then it's good, because he knows HE is good. Killing people is bad, unless Scott is doing it. Letting villains go is bad, unless Scott is doing it. Biting people is bad, unless Scott is doing it. Protecting family is good even if it requires killing or lying, unless it's not Scott doing it. Revenge for past slights is good, unless it's not SCOTT doing it. And you try to understand it! You try to say, okay, then he's morally grey, got it. He plays with the rules to suit his own morality, whatever. Except that Scott, the other characters, and THE SHOW ITSELF, are all telling you otherwise! They all say that Scott is morally pure. That he is good and righteous and lawful. That he always does the "right" thing, and that when he does "bad" things, it's justified and he had to. THE HEAVENS THEMSELVES say Scott is somehow better or more righteous than the other characters by MAKING HIM AN ALPHA OUT OF NOWHERE. (I'm talking abt canon here, not going into deaton conspiracy theories) It's like....Like in the hate mail response I did, where I pointed out that Every Single Thing people get angry at Derek for doing, Scott did too. Lying, killing (or at least attempting it), attacking innocents, losing his temper, keeping secrets, refusing to work with someone who could help, etc etc etc. Everything Derek has done that is morally "wrong," Scott has also done. And that's okay! Doing a bad thing doesn't make you a bad person, and even if it did, Scott is ALLOWED to be bad! GO FOR IT.
Except that he is sinless. It isn't that he learns from the bad things he does, it's that they aren't treated like bad things in the first place. Because Scott did it, and Scott always does the right thing.
Derek's behavior is reprehensible at times, but the show ADMITS that and frames it as bad. Frames it as him doing a bad thing when he scares Isaac or throws Peter or tells Erica who to date. And that's fine, because Derek is established as not being morally pure.
But SCOTT IS. And because they were so desperate to make him continue being "Pure" they didn't frame the things he did as wrong, or if they did, they absolved him of it immediately, using the exact same reasoning that works for Derek's situations, but this time Actually Accepting it.
He scares Stiles, well it's because he's scared. He throws Isaac, it's because he's upset. He attacks Jackson well it's because Jackson was being a dick. He orders Allison to date Matt, well he had a goal to accomplish. Every reason is treated like a fucking doctor's note that erases the bad things he does.
Being scared, or angry, or retaliating to someone being an asshole, or trying to protect himself, was NEVER a good enough reason for Derek to do ANYTHING "Bad." It was never an acceptable excuse.
IF IT WERE: If the show were making a statement about how fallable people are, how they do bad things, but they do them for a REASON. How people will do wild and terrible things out of fear, and how that doesn't make it less bad, but it makes it understandable, so don't demonize them out of nowhere. If that were the case, I would HAVE BEEN FINE WITH IT.
Scott is held to COMPLETELY different standards than everyone else in the show! And I DON'T mean that people held him to higher ones. They dropped that bar so fucking low. Anything was allowed, and any excuse was good enough.
He made out with a girl who was dating someone else, who his best friend was in love with? It's just the full moon, he's angsty about losing Allison. He ducttapes Liam to a bathtub and starts throwing random phrases at him that he hated Derek for saying to him? He's freaked out! He doesn't know what to do with a bitten wolf! It was an accident! He works with a mass murderer behind people's backs without telling them the whole story? Am I talking about Gerard or Deucalion? Who fucking knows. Either way, it's okay, because he was protecting his family. He plots to murder a cancer patient slowly and painfully by replacing meds that likely included painkillers with mountain ash, and the uses someone else's body to deliver the killing blow, and it's okay because he was just being smart! He was just working ten steps ahead! He was saving his mom and the whole town! Who cares if it DIDN"T WORK?
He walks into his ex-girlfriend's hotel room and scares the SHIT out of her while she's naked and alone in the shower? It was the wolfsbane. It doesn't matter that no one else's impulses included HARASSING someone. He lies to his girlfriend's face about her own life because he doesn't think it's important enough for her to know (who am I talking about, come on, take a guess, which one is it? Allison or Kira? Trick question: it's both). He was just being kind! He didn't want to worry her! He didn't want to make her feel bad! She didn't need to know!
I'm so far off track it's not even funny. My point was that Everything the other characters in the show are demonized for or framed as evil or bad or wrong for doing, Scott is shown to do and it's treated like at minimum a comedy, if not a Perfect Brilliant Strategic Move.
God, fucking hell. I mean, the PARALLELS you see in this show, between Scott and others. The scene of Alexander Argent going to the hotel after being bit? That bit where he pulls his shirt up in the mirror? It's a near PERFECT replica of Scott looking at his bite at Deaton's. They paralleled SCOTT MCCALL with AN ARGENT. Deaton has this whole line in S2 where he's bitching at Derek about "the person you should trust the most doesn't trust you at all" And then seasons later, we have Scott look his best friend in the eye and refuse to trust him, only to get upset later because Stiles doesn't want to work with him anymore and he "lost them." Scott goes running into Derek's house in S1 to accuse him of killing the bus driver, and when he can't get a real response, he EGGS HIM ON by accusing him of Murdering his SISTER, just to get Derek to react. Which is the EXACT same thing Kate did when she showed up and wanted Derek to lose his temper. Scott is CONSTANTLY paralleled with villains and assholes, and constantly does the things that others are persecuted for. But instead of feeling regret or learning something from it, instead of growing AT ALL. Those actions are treated as good. We are told they are righteous. And clever. That they are what heroes do. AND YES: There are parallels between Derek and Stiles' behaviors and villains/morally grey characters! Of course there are!
BUT THEY AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THE TRUE ALPHA MAIN CHARACTER. SCOTT IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE GOOD GUY. HE'S NOT SUPPOSED TO MIMIC/EMULATE THE VILLAINS, AND HE'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE REWARDED WHEN HE DOES IT ANYWAY.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again; I understand the urge to think that the Teen Wolf writers did all of this on purpose. That they built Scott up as an unreliable narrator, so that we're forced to come to terms with a protagonist who isn't good, and we watch them fall into a villainous role while thinking all the while they are a hero. That all these parallels are intentional and the writers just couldn't Tell us what was going on bc they didn't have enough power.
And sometimes I play into it. I will lie to myself about Scott being the 'narrator' of the entire show, and that we're seeing it all through his eyes so of course things are biased and conflicting, just so I can actually Enjoy watching it.
But I think it's absolute bullshit that this was done on purpose. It wasn't. The parallels appeared because they Wanted Scott to do the badass things that they had all the villains doing, throwing people and being sneaky and clever, and stopping the bad guy, and they didn't want to deal with the fact that they were having him do bad things. So they just pretended he wasn't and refused to acknowledge that they'd already punished other people for doing the same exact shit, but somehow Scott was getting rewarded. They wanted Scott to be the hero, so they made him the hero, and screw everybody else.

1/2 What fanon "refusal to kill" & "indiscriminate concern for every human life" crap are you even talking about? Scott 'They Had A Reason' McCall conspired with Gerard behind everyone's back and then tried (but failed) to kill him, using Derek's body against his will to achieve his goal; he conspired with Deucalion behind everyone's back to kill Josh and Tracy, and patted Deucalion on the back for manipulating Theo into killing his own pack, because Josh and Tracy's deaths benefitted Scott.
2/2 Scott's also totally okay with Derek and Braeden killing the hunters on his behalf during the Dead Pool (because they went after him) and threw a temper tantrum because he wanted to assassinate Peter to cure himself but Derek beat him to it. So yeah. Scott draws the line alright: he draws it at what benefits him and only him. A true hypocrite indeed
I mean, that's one way to reveal your huge hate boner for Scott.
Flattered though, that you cared enough to send me two paragraphs of your unwanted takes.
#asks#get a life#idk what post/tag this is referring to but can't be bothered to figure it out lmfao#i debated taking this seriously but like no <3

Saw that you are currently suffering writer's block (which is the actual worst). Could you tell me more about Daphne McCall? Like her personality or background or role in the series? She already looks awesome and I want to know more.
THANKS FOR ASKING, REI!! Daphne is actually my first oc ever and I just love her so much?? (and yeah, writer’s block is a bitch haha) I’ll put under the cut because it’s hella long.
So, Daphne is Scott’s twin and daughter to Rafael and Melissa. She’s very close to her mom which she considers as her role model, her best friend and can’t imagine a second without her mom in her life. Both of them have a great relationship where Melissa is one of the few who can make Daphne open up. On the other hand Daphne has zero contact with her dad and doesn’t try to be honest. She’s v v v harsh and resentful to him but instead of confronting him and telling her how she feels, she just act like she didn’t care (which spoiler alter, dont, she cares about it v v much but she’s hella stubborn). Her relationship with Scott is pretty great too. He’s her best friend and both of them have honestly the sweetest relationship ever. They just love each other so much and so fiercely protective of each other. But their relationship is put at risk when both of them have a secrets. Scott, to protect Daphne bc he doesn’t want her to be involved in all the supernatural bullshit and her because she doesn’t even understant what happen to her. Her other big relationship is with Stiles. He’s simply her best friend and whereas it’s sweet with Scott, Stiles and Daphne bickers all the time. With the boys, Daphne’s pretty much a more laid-back/warmer/funnier person and is sarcastic as hell. She and Stiles always sass each other, argues a lot but at the same time, they just love each other so much??
For her personality, Daphne is someone very kind and nice but she doesn’t seems like it. Daphne is a very isolated person who doesn’t socialize. All she cares are her family (which include Stiles for her) and her grades, that’s it. She doesn’t try to make new friends cause she’s got a lot of abondment issue and a lack of confidence. She pretty much thinks that people won’t like her becaus she’s not your average teenager or that they’ll end up to leave like her dad. Daphne is a nerd who loves series and books and is hella smart. Like, she’s the second smarter person in school after Lydia but she doesn’t trust it. Daphne is someone caring and with an undying loyalty, she will always be by your side no matter what. She’s very calm and composed, like, she won’t be pissed as easily as Stiles for exemple. But it’s her main problem: Daphne internalize everything. She pretends that everything is okay, will reassure and rather focus on you than her own problem which leave her with a lot of struggles. In fact, Daphne (like pretty much all of my ocs tbh) hates to feel vunerable so speaking of her feeling, open hersel fup ? #h e l l n o. With Stiles and Scott, Daphne is someone who bites back because she trust them Over the course of the serie, Daphne gains confidence and is more open to new people. Like, she won’t act like a asshole like she used to (like, trust me, Daphne was a asshole to new people tbh), but it doesn’t mean she won’t trust the person right away. Daphne became more warm, isn’t afraid to speak her mind and even less to take risks anymore. She still struggles a lot, and the supernatural life still hard for her (like, Daphne’s going throught a lot of angst tbh). But she still manage to be kind and supportive, she tries to be her best altought a lot of time, she’ll think of herself as a monster.
For the background, Daphne was raised by her mom mostly, and her dad sudden departure as well his alcholism marked her tbh. She’s got a lot of fear and issues. (like; she’s always afraid to being abandoned or to loose control and end up like her dad). She immediatly repressed her anger and pain because her mom struggled a lot and Daphne didn’t want to be a burden for her. Instead, she just pretended that everything was okay and become responsible soon enough. She helped her mother at home, and found a work early to help paying the bills.
As for her role in the serie, Daphne was at first and still be a guilty pleasure. Her first goal in the season is to understand what happen to her. Like; the night of the pilot, something happen to her and Daphne has no memories, the only thing she has is nightmares and yet, it doesn’t help. Daphne became a kind of hybrid and is without knowing bounded to Peter which gonna be a big problem in s1 and useful in s2. It’s gonna be very hard for especially since it’s gonna cause troubles in the brotp between the boys and Daphne (but everything honna be okay at the end). At the same time, I’m gonna devellop the relationship between Isaac and Daphne (i just love them) as well her meeting and alliance with Derek. But tbh, most of the time, Daphne will be manipulated by Derek, I think. Like he doesn’t have his interest in heart and doesn’t really care about her at first. Lbr, Daphne will feel like a crazy for a lot of time. The second season is more complicated for her because she’s torn between Scott and Derek. Like, Daphne knows that Derek’s idea are shitty as hell (and there’s gonna be some angst between Isaac and Daphne), especially turning teenagers into werewolf and involving them in their problems. But Derek learns control to Daphne (something she’s struggle with since she’s got a lot of repressed anger/sensible nature) and she can’t give up on this (she’s way to scared for it). But Scott still her twin best friend and she trust him more than anyone in the whole world. The revelation of supernatural to her mother is also something important to Daphne as well with the Argents. Especially Gerard who’s fascinated by Daphne’s hybrid nature and her closeness with Derek. He tried to manipulate her like he did with Allison tbh. The third season is a road for hell to Daphne. Althought she left Derek’s pack, she plays the role of a messenger most of time and still concerned about the Pack’s member. Isaac and her are dating and finally happy (at first haha) and everything is great except that she’s worried as hell for Boyd and Erica. The Alpha Pack is no good news and Deucalion has plans for the McCalls twins. Like, he knows how special Daphne is and how powerful she could be as an Alpha. While the other members of the pack aren’t happy with her because lbr, Daphne hasn’t the bone to be like them for the Alphas and it will be a waste of time. The Darach is also a shitty thing but Daphne’s main focus will be the Alpha. The Nogitsune is also a struggle for D. Like, her Siren nature is very similar to the Nogitsune and she will kinda lost control, I think. Like, Siren’s power are stronger when the person feels anger, hate, revenge which complete with the Nogistune. So I kinda have an idea where darkness and Nogistune attrack Daphne who will shift in her behavior or even being totally under the controls of her Siren side. (a lot fo angst here tbh and suffering). The season 4 is mainly about how Daphne handles grieving and her lost of control/bloodlust after the s3′s disaster. Plus, being heartbroken doesn’t help at all. I think that I might have an ideas where the Benefactor’s list is either a way for Daphne to get revenge on the supernatural creatures, especially the ones who killed people (Oliver’s inspiration over here) to feels less guilty or Daphne trying to attract the hunter’s attention to her because of guilt of everything she dones. (tbh, Daphne will be bad in this season haha). Season Five is I think the lightest season for Daphne?? Like, she’ll get better, especially since it’s her last year meaning that she’ll graduate and going to college and have a break. But the Dread Doctors are also fascinated with Daphne since she’s a natural “Chimera” and they’ll sent Theo to her. (hence, when she was younger, she kinda had a crush on him). To get information but also appealing her to his side. He knows that Daphne might be strong mentally but that she’s got a dark side and want to use it. But also that since if Daphne come to his side, it means that he’ll have a powerful shapeshifter but also that he can have whoever he want in his pack since D and Scott are inseparable. But jokes on him, he starts to develops feelings for Daphne althought their story started as nothing serious. At the end, Daphne stays by Scott althought she felt guilty and is more than ready to kill Scott. The last season is pretty much hell for her because just when she thinks that everything will be okay, shit happens again haha.
As for her relationships, I already talked about Scott and Stiles and her mom and dad. Daphne became bff with Allison but with a very bad start. D is kinda jealous of Allison because she’s afraid to loose Scott to her but at the end, Daphne is just happy for them. Lydia and her also start with the wrong foot but they soon became this strong brotp?? Like she and Daphne connect over what Peter’s done to them and Daphne is totally understand Lydia’s behavior. Instead of thinking of her as the Kanima, she protects her and soon became sister-like. There’s nothing Daphne wouldn’t do for Lydia and Lydia would do anything for Daphne. Also, one of my fave brotp for Daphne is a bit au and is crossover is Kaphne with @madipetsch. Karla and Daphne are cousins and bff and I just love them so much??

🔪 * TAMORA VS. OTHER TW VILLAINS. don’t reblog.
disclaimer: as always, i am not justifying tamora’s actions. she was going about everything WRONG. she was hurting people who didn’t deserve to be hurt. what i am doing is defending her viewpoint because it’s one that should be acknowledged. her viewpoint was wildly SKEWED, and it’s the very reason she was doing everything she was doing. she thought she was doing the right thing; we know she wasn’t. unfortunately, nine total episodes is not enough time for a villain to be introduced and to be redeemed ( we wouldn’t want that. villains are so much better when developed over a long length of time. ) tamora never got the clarity she needed in order to change her viewpoint, therefore she never had the opportunity to redeem herself. to just stop what she was doing with nothing to go off of, it would have been out of character for her if she didn’t physically see proof that not all supernatural creatures were bad.
for starters ----- tamora did not redeem herself, but she is not irredeemable. just as most villains need, she needed some kind of clarity to really change her mind, to show her that what she was doing and the way she was living wasn’t the way she needed to go about it all.
i’ve seen a lot of posts that are comparing tamora to the other villains on the show, most of them saying that she’s the worst person of all of them and posts insisting that if monroe didn’t get redemption and even people like theo, peter, and deucalion did, then that easily makes her so much worse than they ever were. and ——- to even compare these villains is really such a disservice on both sides? they’re not the same, at all. most of the villains’ intentions were evil. tamora, even though it doesn’t feel like it because of all that we know, had GOOD intentions that were poorly executed. it wasn’t simply her goal just to destroy all supernatural creatures because she hated them for no reason ——- think about WHY she was doing this. her main purpose was to save this town, because she was convinced that the supernatural being there would ruin everyone in this town.
she was a victim of the supernatural, traumatized by it, and then was LIED TO by people protecting the supernatural over her. she didn’t have to lie to get her stance across —— she told the truth, always, that the police had lied to the citizens of beacon hills, that scott didn’t save her that night ( even if WE know he would have if he knew she was there, she doesn’t have reason to know that. ) and that things have been happening to this town for years that have been covered up to protect this secret, ultimately hurting the innocent humans of beacon hills. she has every right to be upset.
i will repeat this again and again, BUT SHE NEVER HAD REASON TO BELIEVE SCOTT WAS GOOD. and that’s heartbreaking, because we know he is. and if she saw him the way we saw him, this wouldn’t be a problem at all. tamora has made it obvious time and time again that she just wants to protect people, and she wants people to be able to defend themselves. if she understood who scott was as a person, she would be on his side ——- she would be trying to work with him to protect this town, because she could do it more efficiently. she didn’t know that building her army was getting in the way of scott trying to protect this town. she thinks that scott was on the SAME SIDE as the beast because from her eyes, that’s exactly what it looked like. if she knew he was the one who was trying to DESTROY the beast for the safety of this town, do you really think she would still be standing where she is? yes, sheriff stilinski tried to show her that, BUT HE HAD ALREADY LIED TO HER, OVER AND OVER AGAIN. of course she’s not going to comprehend anything he’s saying to her because she doesn’t know how to trust someone who has made her out to feel like she is INSANE just for thinking something more than a bear attacked her. that’s why this is so important: she doesn’t see the humanity in scott. that humanity in scott, what other villains DESPISED HIM FOR, is what tamora is MISSING, and that’s exactly why she came out of this show still being the villain that she is. she saw no humanity in these supernatural creatures because her mind was so set on the fact that she had been hurt, she saw other people hurting, she had been lied to, and was so convinced that all supernatural creatures were the SAME as the beast: made to be killers.
the other villains in question have been on the show for multiple seasons. we saw some of them grow to become villains, we saw some start as villains, and we saw them go through so many arcs where again and again, they always chose the side of a villain. even after seeing that scott was a good person, they continued to go against him, or they wanted him dead. right here is a major difference between a majority of the tw villains and tamora. these other villains HATED that scott was a good person; they hated that he was always trying to do the right thing. they hated his humanity. gerard saw his humanity, saw that he was being a good person, and still wanted him dead. TAMORA DIDN’T EVEN KNOW HE HAD HUMANITY. she didn’t know he was a good person. she didn’t know that everything he did was for the best of this town. while she might have saw glimpses of it, she never saw something that was solid proof that her view on him was completely skewed. all she saw was proof against him; she saw the boy who walked away from a pile of dead bodies without checking on them. she saw a guy working to defend two werewolves who had KILLED innocent people ( obviously, he changed his mind on that when he saw their eyes, but werewolves killing innocent people is exactly the kind of thing that only further proved her point. ) she saw someone who she was so sure was HELPING the thing that attacked her. SHE WAS WRONG IN WHAT SHE SAW, but she was never shown that. sheriff stilinski told her that they needed to start understanding each other, but they never did. scott understood monroe’s point of view, he’s said that himself, because he trusted her side of the story and believed it. monroe needed to physically see scott’s side of the story to be able to change. she needed to see him as a human, not as a threat. she didn’t get to. scott didn’t get a chance to prove himself to her.
yes, tamora was an extremely powerful villain all because of the hold she had on the people of this town. she was willing to protect them, to keep them safe, and to tell them the TRUTH, and she exposed the supernatural as a threat as she was certain they were. the way she built up an army THAT BIG is exactly why she is one of the most powerful villains on this show in terms of how much destruction she has caused. but it is incredibly insulting to these other villains to insist that she’s a worse villain than them —— because these other villains’ characters were built on their evilness, while the writers themselves have made it very clear that tamora was an accidental villain who had lost her way. most villains know they’re villains, and they use that against people. they’re not afraid to hurt anyone in their way. tamora doesn’t know she is a villain. she sees herself as a protector. she sees herself as someone who is fighting for what’s right and eliminating threat that will only keep hurting humans. SHE NEVER GOT HER CLARITY. like i said before, she did not get redeemed in the show because she was never given the opportunity. she needed proof; she needed something to change in her viewpoint in order for her to be redeemed, but she wasn’t given enough time. other villains have multiple seasons to find their clarity and change if they want to. given that tamora’s main goal is to protect people, she would have no reason to keep hunting those that are saving this town if she knew that was what they were doing. i don’t believe in redemption for a lot of villains, but this is a character who is lacking exactly what she would need to be redeemed.
she wouldn’t come around suddenly unless she saw reason to do so, and that’s important to any villain. theo saw reason to come around. so did deucalion. so did so many villains in this show. not to mention, they saw this current war from both sides, and they knew that the hunters weren’t all doing this because they simply just hated them ( that’s why theo took gabe’s pain. he knew that gabe didn’t belong on that side of the war. tamora doesn’t know both sides. ) tamora wasn’t given proof, she wasn’t given enough time. don’t discredit who she is as a character and a villain just because she wasn’t redeemed in the end —— that doesn’t mean she would never come around. we’ve seen hunters transition from being hunters of all supernatural creatures to hunters that work WITH supernatural creatures ( we watched chris shoot scott in one of the very first episodes just because he was a werewolf, and now he’s a father figure to him. we watched allison shoot arrows ruthlessly as boyd and erica because she was made to believe they were evil, and we know she wasn’t a bad person. ) if tamora had the information she needed, if she saw them the way we saw them, if she had more time to truly comprehend who they were as people, things would have turned out so much differently for her ——- but there was so much work to be done and so much understanding that she was lacking.
tamora was a villain, but it was accidental. she was so desperate to protect this town that she ended up nearly destroying it and the people she was trying to save without realizing what had unfolded. it would have been interesting to see her die because of the mess she had gotten herself into, but the fact that she didn’t leaves room for her to finally come to terms with the truth.
i understand that she’s easy to hate. we WANT to hate her because she hurt our faves. she killed and hurt so many people. she almost killed scott. but to ignore the fact that she didn’t see him as a human is completely invalidating who she is as a character, and to compare her to the villains who were inherently evil and were aware they were hurting good people is a disservice to the kind of villains they were and the characters they were. no villain on this show is comparable. their intentions are different. we can’t say someone is a better or worse person other villains had more time to grow, or when we literally have not seen how tamora would have acted if she knew, for a fact ( not just a ‘ take their word for it ‘ way ) that these supernatural creatures still had humanity.
she is a villain, but she is not the same kind of villain or at all comparable to the other villains in this series. she is still convinced that what she’s doing is the right thing for the world; she hasn’t been shown that what she’s doing isn’t good. i stand by the fact that she would eventually change her motives if she saw firsthand that these creatures weren’t all monsters.
#tamora is a fucking incredible villain. but she is not the same kind of villain as the others we’ve seen. at all. even SCOTT KNOWS THAT.#you can hate a character without invalidating the fact that they are a WELL WRITTEN CHARACTER#i can handle ppl not liking her as a person w/e but the moment this char gets disrespected i get ANGRY.#and to disrespect other chars in the process like…. those villains worked to be villains. thats who they are. don't discredit them yikes#my whole blog is just me repeating myself constantly ik im SRY !!!!!#me: doesnt have anon on. still gets harassed in my inbox.#‹ ❱ °. ⁽ ᵒᵒᶜ ⁾ ▬ RAW TALENT.*
