And here it is, the La Brea piece! All three groups of animals I'm not confident with (horses, cats, dogs), in one place! But I think it turned out all right in the end.

After some last touch ups I also added 2 more birds and flowers in the foreground. Big thank you to the devs of the game Ecos: La Brea, of which many joined to give feedback and to talk about their game that will let you play as an animal in and around the tar pits.

Speaking of the tar pits: I avoided them here very much on purpose. With the exception of the petroleum fly these animals did not LIVE in the tar pits and Pleistocene California wasn't always as dry as it is today or as it is often time portrayed. Especially after extensive rain, the hills and plains must have been full of herbs and flowers, attracting all sorts of megafauna. Building on the favourite animal ask, another Very Important Question: favourite PREHISTORIC animal? And why? (I've always loved gorgonopsids and pterosaurs like anurognathus, but a new favourite is aquilolamma the eagle shark. They're just very cute).

I feel like my top favorites are pretty pedestrian, but I like prehistoric deer a lot!

Restaurant Phantom

Danny as a restaurant owner in Gotham or something similar The thing is that, as Danny's customers are mostly villains, they are immortal beings. From Ra's al-Ghul, Vandal Savage, and even Queen Hippolyta and few others. For Vandal and Ra's, it was to taste things they had not eaten for hundreds of years and to taste the original flavor that doesn't exist anymore.

And Hippolyta saw the restaurant as she visited her daughter in man's land and didn't know why but ate in it in the end. It had been a long time since she ate those good old traditional ancient Greek dishes.

So Danny's restaurant with his assistant Dani became a pretty famous place for people who are older than you think. And with them, other people joined: Ra's group, Vandal Light, Hippolyta Amazons, a few Greek gods, and even Dr. Fate and Klarion with others.

It was more or less a neutral zone for them to just eat and maybe chat. until JL found out about it.

Danny just had fun to cook the food for them, it was fun to cook things he learned in the Ghost Zone, he was surprised people even knew the names of it.

He had no idea how Mr Savage knew it was Mammoth Meat.

Fun fact, I was gonna have Pounce stalking a giant pleistocene Pika but literally cannot find any reference to how big they were.

And then i realised pika are just,,, insanely tiny,,, so i used a marmot instead. I like marmots now, they're so chunky!

I drew Pounce with proper sabers by accident, big cats have milk teeth until they're 1yr old, whoops! Let's say it's uh... an effect... from baring them... being stressed out... yup
