Today's Survivor fic is for the anon who requested 'The last of us'.
Cal wakes early, the others still asleep in their cabins. With BD still charging and sleep already a distant memory, Cal decides he needs some air, and some space. He’s not in the headspace to meditate (even if Cere and Master Tapal always insisted that was exactly the time to meditate). He leaves a note on the galley table (‘Out for a walk. Have comm. Call if you need me’) and heads out. They’ve landed near a beach on Tanalorr this time, Greez and BD having undertaken a survey of the planet and sought out alternative landing spaces. The Jedi of the High Republic did most of the hard work for them by establishing their temple in a perfect spot, geographically speaking, and yet they need to know what the rest of the planet is like, seeing how it’s untouched by the Empire – or the Republic. Greez wanted a beach cookout, so he’d landed them here. Yesterday, Cal patiently gave Kata a few swimming lessons. She’s still a little nervous and learning in a pool or a pond would be better, but she gets the basics and is happy to stay in the shallows for now.
It didn’t take her long to discover the joys of splashing her teacher right in the face, either.
This morning, however, it’s just him. The tide lulls Cal, the Force calm on the beach. The faint undercurrent of darkness lingering on Tanalorr fades away. Cal isn’t sure what that feeling is yet. The time to explore it will come later. Much later unless the Force compels him to investigate sooner. Right now, the Force seems to be determined to make him rest.
Rest. Right. Every time he closes his eyes, he sees people dying. Sometimes he thinks he should go away, far away, from everyone he loves. Their odds of survival will surely increase in his absence.
Cal kicks off his boots, tugs off his socks, shrugs out of his jacket, yanks his shirt over his head, and wades into the ocean. Sand swallows his feet. The chill fades as his body adjusts, and he ducks under the surface, kicking his way into deeper water. He doesn’t stop until the seabed is so far away, he’d need his rebreather to reach the depths. Rolling onto his back, Cal faces the sun and closes his eyes, the water and the Force carrying him.
He is alone. Adrift. A Jedi without an Order. He wants to believe so badly that there are others out there, and yet…
Malicos.
Dagan.
Bode.
He too succumbed to darkness, fell into its thrall, wielded its intoxicating power. Strong, unyielding, he had conquered many enemies, the echo of Cere’s power guiding his every vengeful move.
Never again. Never. If he falls, if he gives in again, if he fails to fight, what remains of the Jedi falls with him. He’s never found any signs of other survivors, not until they jab a lightsaber in his face. Cere said there were ‘very few of us left now’. Did she mean others besides herself and Cal? If she did, what if those others are just as broken as he is? As broken as Malicos, Dagan and Bode were? Twisted like the Inquisitors? Maybe it would be safer for what’s left of his family for him to never seek out other Jedi, to remain the last of the Order, to protect Force-sensitives without turning them into soldiers. The Force belongs to everyone, not just the Jedi. Merrin, the Zeffo, Kashyyyk’s Origin Tree, the Anchorites… All of them, and so many more, with their own perceptions of what the Force is – what it can be.
With or without the Jedi, Tanalorr will be a haven, and it will house all the remains of Cere’s Archive, become her living, breathing legacy. Cal swears he will do better, and if he is the last of the Jedi, he will ensure their ideals live on.
For now though, he should return to shore, go back to the others, and contact The Hidden Path. The galaxy could use some hope, and Cal finally has a little to share.
He returns to the beach. Merrin waits on the shore, fresh caf in her hands. “Did you find what you are looking for?” she asks, blunt as ever.
He takes the drink. “I hope so.”

I will tell you all a famous song by Bruno Mars
“Oh, her eyes, her eyes Make the stars look like they're not shinin' Her hair, her hair Falls perfectly without her tryin' She's so beautiful and I tell her every day”
so it makes you think that this is not about Travelogue in Pangasinan, but it is. When a person goes to a place and in his house where he is staying, he can see the huge mountains in the distance. And when the sun goes down that person can see the lights that come from the houses. The lights represent the eyes of the mountains and the trees will serve as hair that waves every time the wind is strong. And the line "She's so beautiful and I tell her every day" represents the whole mountain. What if I tell you that climbing the mountain and courting women are the same. “The best view comes after the hardest climb.” The love, appreciation, and care men give to women. These qualities should also be used in the mountains not only by us men but by all of us.
A land of wonders and beauty may be found on the northwest coast of the Philippines, where the sea meets the mountains and the breeze delivers the lovely aroma of ripe mangoes and saltwater. This region is known as Pangasinan, a province that is endowed with a wealth of natural riches and a vibrant cultural history. One can enjoy the beautiful scenery in Pangasinan, from the gently rolling hills of Malico and the stunning beaches of Lingayen to the thick Manaoag forests and the calm waves of the Hundred Islands. Many different crops, including rice, corn, and tobacco, are cultivated in its lush soil, and its oceans are alive with fish and other marine life. But it's the people of Pangasinan that set it apart. They are friendly, warm, and fiercely protective of their culture. Their traditions and practices have been passed down from one generation to the next, weaving a very distinctive tapestry of culture. Pangasinan's celebrations, from the vibrant Pista'y Dayat (Feast of the Sea) to the solemn devotion to Our Lady of Manaoag, are a witness to the people's faith, tenacity, and passion for life.
For me, Pangasinan is a gem of the Philippines that shines with pristine natural beauty, rich cultural diversity, and friendly people. It is a magical place that welcomes travelers to discover, savor, and make lifelong memories. Whether you visit Pangasinan for the breathtaking scenery, mouthwatering cuisine, or lively traditions, you'll discover that it has a way of capturing your heart and soul. So come and discover the wonders of Pangasinan for yourself, and discover

OMG I love this!! Considering I write Malicos weekly, and have given him a short crop and styled beard as his usual grooming, seeing this is very satisfying. Really love it.
I gave him a little bit of a different backstory. Made him a Shadow, someone apprenticed to a very Force focused master, who is stronger in the force than in straight combat as a result. Made him quite the fashion focused man, careful with how he dress and how he speaks as he's extremely used to undercover work. He'd have hunted Sith artifacts and cults most of his Jedi life, making him a little esoteric and a bit of a bookworm.
I can definitely see him as a hardliner, though I opted to make him a maverick, often gone for long periods of time.
The betrayal is real and I bet it didn't help with the madness of Dathomir. Sensing the echos of him crying in a bad episode was harsh.
Anyway, he's a big fav, and fanart of him is CRUELLY lacking. So thanks for doing this.
In my mind, this man was a hardliner - standing behind every decision the council made.
He was controversial among his peers. No Jedi was ever trained to lead armies in a galactic war, yet when this glove was forced on all of their hands, it seemingly fit way better on his.
He took on this role, carrying the burden with grim composure, seeing a necessity in it.
When Order 66 came around, his trust in the council and the order collapsed. Because apparently all he had done and endured had been doomed from the start. And none of them had seen it coming.

The Hidden paradise of Nueva Vizcaya
One of the benefits of joining a photography club is the numerous invitations that you’ll receive to visit different places. Last December 2012, I was invited to spend a weekend like no other at Barangay Malico, Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya. It was a 3 days, 2 nights vacation to a fabulous place that resembles La Trinidad, Benguet in terms of climate. It also resembles Baguio before it became crowded with buildings and people. I left Manila via Victoria Liner en route to Tugeugarao, Cagayan. I dropped off at Sta. Fe town proper and it took me around 6 hours to reach this part of Nueva Vizcaya. From the town proper, it took me another 30 minutes (via motorbike) to reach Barangay Malico. It was the most exhilarating ride I’ve ever experienced since we’re trekking the mountainside. My heart is pounding with every turn on our way up the mountain. The place, where my photographer friend’s rest house is located, is being transformed to a vegetable field similar to La Trinidad, Benguet. Several rest houses where set-up near their rest house. Upon reaching this part of Barangay Malico, I immediately felt the cold climate which is at par with Baguio City. Another thing that I liked about the place is the absence of several houses. Barangay Malico is definitely a nature lover’s haven. I also saw one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen. We saw the province of Pangasinan from the top of the mountain. There are so many pine trees in the vicinity as well. It’s also good nice to see the fog coming down from the heavens. It’s definitely a wonderful sight. The next day, we hiked to an area full of pine trees with magnificent view of the mountainside. This is probably how Baguio City looked like in the 1900s before the Americans discovered it. There was even a tank on top of the mountain which was there since World War II. We also reached the boundary of Nueva Vizcaya and Pangasinan. After the morning hike, we attended the major event of the community. It’s a Christmas Party combined with Barrio Fiesta. There were cultural dances from the local grade school and high school students. Kids and adults also enjoyed the parlor games including the classic Trip to Jerusalem among others. After the games and dances, the locals shared the simplest meal I’ve ever seen – boiled native pig (without spices or salt). In spite the simplicity of their food, you’ll see how grateful they are for the meal of the day. The kids are also delighted by the toys that were given to them. In the afternoon of Day 2, we visited the Imugan Falls. It was the first falls that I saw and I took the opportunity to take a bath in it. The water is very cold and the feeling of taking a bath in it is one of the best things that I’ve ever experienced. The hike towards Imugan Falls is also quite an adventure. There were plenty of ferns and flora along the way. The 3rd day, Sunday, is spend preparing to go back to Manila. We visited a local shrine to fallen soldiers of World War II. It’s quite intriguing to think that Barangay Malico in Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya was a venue of fighting between the retreating Japanese forces (on their way to Baguio City) and the Filipino-American army. The Shrine also gives a great view of the rest house and the greenhouses. It was a beautiful place. After lunch, we departed Barangay Malico and I promised to return this year on their annual Christmas Party. I sure hope you can also visit the place. By the way, the people of Barangay Malico belong to the Kalahan-Kalanguya tribe. Kalahan is the local word for “forest” while Kalanguya is the language. Read the full article

4 Play approached us so quick and with hella vigor. We reached out to several sensual, progressive artist who celebrates and embodies non - binary sexual oriented culture.
Within a weeks time this wonderful soiree came together. It was shocking to us to have such a healthy turn out. First reason being the name change. For two years straight The House of Malico has thrown a Valentines day party, but it was always called The Mating Dance. However, we switched gears a bit to facilitate a more free flowing space that would provide a deeper sensual experience for lovers across the POC spectrum while also fundraising for Mother Health International a Ugandan Birthing Center. Enough of the background though, lets get to the meat shall we? So, Urban Stitch hosted us in their beautiful glass venue. Alana, the owner helped us feel immediate comfort with her angelic nature as we hung up art work by Sage Stargate and Moxie, as well as a long silver stripping pole that we will talk about later. Jetia Deity came through and started us off with very body roll worthy jams. As the glass palace began to fill with the most divine people Oakland has to offer, we couldn’t help but to increasingly get more excited, maybe it was the G-Spot Jello Shots, but things got hot and heavy swiftly. Soon after a league of Trans - Goddess swarmed the spot along with Jasmine Infinity. She literally had the whole party jumping like a Destiny Child video. From tuting, twerking to voguing every -bo-dy was moving. Just as we planned. Even though we promoted it as a QTPOC party, it was evident that some cis and non - POC folks came through which was cool to see we have so many allies supporting the movement. The night got even thicker and more steamier than imagined, our good friend India came all way through to give the children a lesson in strength and beauty with her euphoric pole dance. If not for a stranger clinching my back to see the goddess twirl with no hands, I would be convinced that I was in a dreamy magic city fantasy. The entire performance was really artistic and engaging. Every eye was on India for 5 solid minutes straight, not to mention you could barely hear the music with all the crowds rants of encouragement for her to continue going in. Just when I thought I could not possibly elevate any further Namaste Shawty got to the DJ booth. She slayed with a fun hour of bay area hits and ATL booty shaking theme songs. I’d like to her set “1996 Yay Area Freaknic” or something of that nature. All in all the night was a total success; we raised a good amount of money by raffling off a beautiful Sage Stargate piece and collective carried in the name of love; what more could a Sistah ask for on Valentines day?
