yes the power of positive thinking is so key, everything we say has magical weight, for someone to say "if we don't do X Y or Z the bad guys will always win," the brain has already forgotten what X Y or Z meant, and is now on a core level feeling beaten down by what is positively being said. Rephrasing such as, if we CAN DO a b or c, the bad guys will NEVER win" would be the positive way to say that.
