When The Big 8 Still Served Detroit - Scott Miller, 800 CKLW Windsor | April, 1980
Billing itself as “The Great Entertainer”, here’s a bit more subdued CKLW in the cold Spring of 1980. This is quite fascinating, as between the CanCon songs (they stick out like a sore thumb) and the tempo, it sounds pretty clearly as if the station had already moved to a more Adult-Contemporary sound. Or, perhaps its just the time of day in which this was recorded. It does sound good, however,…

Charlie Van Dyke, CKLW The Big 8 Detroit (Winsor) | 1969
If you have ever watched TV news, you’ve probably heard Charlie Van Dyke’s voice. He is the “voice” of many newscasts & TV stations around the country. He is also the voice of EMF’s K-Love radio network, which is on over 500 radio stations. Before doing TV voiceovers & IDs, he jocked around the country at some legendary stations, including WLS Chicago, WRKO Boston, KHJ Los Angeles, KRTH…

Meep meep meepity meep
LOL OKAY I SWEAR ON MY BLOODY HAIR this is the 2nd to last college post I will ever make. I PROMISE!!! LOL I'm getting so anxious about all the big school decisions; it's like slowly dawning on my how badly I want it :P
BUT even if I don't get into any of those schools, I still love myself and those who have supported me throughout this whole process.  I owe so much to my family and friends for caring so much and helping me out through tough times.
Anyways, here are my choices so far:
1. UC BERKELEY
2. UCLA REGENT SCHOLAR ($2000merit/yr, research, guaranteed housing, and priority class selection)
3. VANDERBILT (tempting and it's a really good school but it costs basically 60K/yr)
4. UCSD REGENT SCHOLAR (same as UCLA)
5. UCI.... uhhhh.... idk what they gave me
AND I'm waiting on Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, Harvard, and UPENN (Puck Fenn though lol).  I'm ready to get rejected 6 times.... maybe I'll get one wait-list for being extraordinarily Asian and badass.  We'll see.  Best case scenario? I get into Columbia, UPENN, or Harvard by some fucking miracle descended from the heavens (however, this is highly unlikely considering how unlucky I am when it comes to these things).  Then after those three, I've got to say Duke and Cornell look very promising.  As for Dartmouth, let's just say I'm not sure if I'm ready to lose my soul to the bitter cold that is Hanover.
I've got to say that I'm about 99% confident I'm either going to end up at CAL or UCLA though because those schools are just way too tough to get into. If I were a major other than business, I would pick UCLA in a heartbeat, but Cal is just too good and has one of the best (if not, the best) undergraduate business programs in the U.S. Clearly, the only solution to all of this is to get into Harvard...... LOLLLLLLLL okay I'm done ranting about my college problems.  I'm so blessed to have so many options already.
----Good luck to everyone this Wednesday <3
