Home: Chapter I

Premise: Viraj x fem!OC Ramya [Hi! Nanna] -> A comment from Viraj drives a crack through Ramya's fragile soul. Best friends to lovers trope, she fell first he fell harder trope. A bit of melodrama / quick escalation. Angsty(?) Beware, not proofread in my eagerness to finally post this.
A/N: I finally wrote!!! This one for my moots @iworshipsappho who commented on my post about this and motivated me to the moon, and @mahi-wayy and @vijayasena and @mellaga-karagani whose zeal and totally cool (hip, trend, movement whatever you wanna call their greatness) fanfics on South-Indian movie characters. @viswa-sakhi -> akkay look at what I've been upto! and @budugu -> yendi, yevanna matladande, yevaina paata padande!

The thing with her was that she did things for others she didn’t have to.
She didn’t have to give Viraj her first ever photoshoot as a costume designer to propel his career. She didn’t have to watch him propose to another woman. She didn’t have to spend all her time tending to his family after his wife left him.
But she did it all, because she was in love with him.
Ramya first met Viraj when they were interning at a magazine. In those days the jobs blended into each other like the days blended into nights, like sunrise did into sunset. But he made it all something memorable. Soon, chats at the office turned into talks on the sidelines, and then into long deep talks all night long.
The moment she saw him, she knew this was the man who was going to break her heart.
It’s okay, maybe that would mean she had a heart in the first place. Ramya couldn’t feel it except when it ached.
While her career as a costume designer grew, her calls with Viraj became few and far in between. Until she visited Viraj in Coonoor.
She hadn’t known about Yashna then.
Hadn’t known about just how infatuated Viraj was with Yashna, and to no fault of his. Something with them just seemed to click, and for the first time in all eternity, Ramya— someone who hadn’t felt pain in her life— ached at the love blooming before her eyes.
Ramya’s life hadn’t been easy by the least, but she refused to cry. She hadn’t cried when her parents admitted they conceived her just to have an organ bank for her ill older sister. Or when her sister collapsed and died of an aneurysm before she could help. Or when her parents disowned her out of grief.
She wasn’t about to cry now either.
Alone in that decorated hotel room, never having felt lonelier in her life, Ramya let the first sunrays of Coonoor pierce her with the warmth she sought in Viraj’s touch. She had come there in hopes of confessing her love to Viraj but it was too late.
He had given his heart to Yashna and there was no turning back from it.
“Hey…” Viraj’s voice came from the other side of the door after a knock. “It’s Viraj. Are you awake?”
Ramya didn’t answer him, all but praying he’d go away.
“I don’t know if you’re listening, you’re probably still asleep. Maybe it’s good that you’re not gonna hear this…” he sounded excited, the sound of his feet pacing echoing on the wooden panels.
She held her breath.
“Nothing…! I feel— God, I haven’t felt like this ever Ramya!”
She felt his fist lightly thump on the door, and she could feel the smile on his face, the happiness and the lightness in his throat. Ramya slid down to the floor, legs pulled to her chest and arms around herself, her back to the door as Viraj spoke on.
“I love Yashna!” he gasped as soon as the confession left his lips. “I love her so much Ramya, I just feel like I can do anything with her by my side. I’ll protect her, I want to marry her.”
Oh to be loved that way by him, she thought.
This eternity to love.
The next to be loved.
« • • • »
Ramya wasn’t married to Viraj or Yashna, but somehow she was always involved in their lives.
Convincing Yashna’s father, protecting them from her mother, arranging the wedding. Ramya did it all. She really couldn’t bear to see Viraj nor Yashna miserable.
She hadn’t realised this until the shock on Justin’s face sunk in.
“Why are you giving away this money amma! If he wants to buy a house he’ll buy it with his own money.”
“C’mon Justin. This is Viraj we’re talking about, you know he’s too proud to ask,”
“But you saved this money for your wedding.”
The money she had handed over to him didn’t matter much when compared to their happiness, she just couldn’t explain it.
“Yes, but this is their marriage. That’s more important.”
He had looked at you then, perhaps deeper than he ever had looked at a person. And after a long pause, he smiled and nodded like he knew the secret to a universal illusion.
« • • • »
Though Yashna had mentally left him long before she had physically left, her disappearance from Viraj’s arms was jarring. She had left their little baby behind, who didn’t understand anything but the fact that she had no mother.
Mahi was the first baby Ramya had picked up.
It was also the first time (in a long time) that Viraj’s daughter stopped crying.
And so a new family was formed, glued together by the needs and dreams of Mahi: just her, Ramya, dad, grandpa, Justin and Pluto. Years passed and the good-night stories grew longer. The birthdays were grander and the smiles less heavy.
In every conference call that Viraj and Ramya attended for Mahi’s cystic fibrosis treatment research, everyone assumed she was Mahi’s mother.
It wasn’t long before Viraj stopped correcting them. However, Ramya remained just a friend, his best friend. She lived in the room across from him, had the password to his accounts, his favourite menu was on her speed-dial, Mahi’s school schedule and medicine timings synched to her calendar. She still didn’t have Viraj’s love.
Not that she loved Mahi for Viraj’s love in return, or practically lived in their house and took care of them to get a love confession from her best friend.
But everytime Mahi asked that one weighted question, it left Ramya questioning her own love.
“When will I hear my mother's story?”
That night, she was worn out by the world and its noise, and Viraj wasn’t home yet. Mahi had grown especially restless with her father’s dismissal of any story with mothers. It made her act out a bit no matter who it was at.
“Sorry kanna, enough stories for tonight. It’s getting la—”
“So you’ll tell me tomorrow?”
“We’ll see Mahi, it’s Nanna’s turn for storytime tomorrow.”
Mahi grew pleading, there was an ache in her eyes. An ache that was never palatable to see in a young girl’s face. Mahi was little, she didn’t understand the concept of losing a mother, or being abandoned. To her, there had always been a mother and she was still here somewhere, but just absent from dinner tables and baking competitions and bedtime stories.
Now that she thought of it, Ramya seemed closest to a mother she’d maybe ever have.
“But he never tells me that story!”
“Mahi…” came Viraj’s stern voice from the threshold of the pink room. “Don’t trouble Ramya.”
“But nanna!”
“No buts, enough bedtime stories for tonight Mahi!”
Ramya left the room to leave father and daughter alone, but when Viraj came out at last after a heated argument, he wasn’t just tired or sad. He was angry.
He stomped up to Ramya at the kitchen platform where she was reheating dinner.
“Did you promise her you’d tell her about her mother?”
Ramya, as usual, was quick to deny. Yashna, however beautiful and ruled by her mother as she was, was the last thing Ramya wanted to broach at storytime.
“No, of course not. Did Mahi say that?”
Viraj visibly shrunk into a chair at her question, his hands twitching on the platform as he shook his head in a no. Ramya placed her own above them, making Viraj to look at her.
“You know… You have to tell her about it all one day.”
He rolls his eyes, “Not you too Ramya.” Tired to the bone, now afraid of mentioning Yashna as much as she was afraid of loud noises.
“What ‘not you too’ ? There’s a reason everybody in this house keeps begging you to rip that band-aid off Viraj. It’s one thing to start this facade, but an entirely different task to keep lying everyday about it!”
She hadn’t realised when her voice had gotten so passionate, when she had forgotten the clicking of the oven and started glaring at her best friend.
He wasn't any more pleasant.
“Oh!” he scoffed, “You think I do this for fun? Huh? You think I like not giving my daughter a mother to even imagine? You think I like being this tired overworked single father whose daughter is being raised by a stranger?”
He said the last word with such venom, a hand recklessly flying to gesture to her, that her prediction of all those years ago came true at a heavy expense.
The thunder tearing from the skies flashed across Ramya’s face, and in that moment, Viraj realised he broke her heart.
“Stranger…” she whispered.
He shook his head, shooting out of his seat to do damage control but perhaps he couldn’t ever repair the wound he caused.
“You think I’m a stranger? Stranger to who? You? Mahi?”
“I’m so sorry Ramya. I didn’t mean it like that…”
“Mahi’s first word—”
“I’m so—”
“—No!”
Viraj froze at the shake in her voice. She was inching away from him, away from years of feeling like a part of this sweet family.
“Mahi. Mahi’s first word was ‘Viraj’ because I kept calling your name whenever I was near her. Her favourite colour changes every week though she denies it every time. This week it’s Falu because she didn’t like the name ‘Maroon’. She scored such good marks in her test today. You know the first thing she asked for, after she showed me her report card? You. Her father. She wished she could ask for her mother but she’s known no one. No one!”
Every word from Ramya felt like it was coming from between the cracks of her soul. It broke something in Viraj.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry!”
Ramya sniffled, but didn’t let anything else betray her. The world was a blur, but all she cared about was getting out of the house before she’d say something she would regret. She loved Viraj, but she didn’t want to become him.
“She doesn’t know you fully because a part of you will always be with her.  She’ll never know me because I’ve given away all parts of me to you. And you call me a stranger!”
It was not everyday he heard the harsh truth from Ramya. Part of her thought Viraj knew she loved him. At the very least, she thought he respected her.
“Everyone around you is chipping away at themselves protecting a reality you created Viraj! Do you realise just how much you’re suffering because of that reality, how much you’re making us suffer?!”
Somewhere in her moisture-framed vision, Ramya knew she was gathering her keys and bag to get out of the house. But it wasn’t until the rain spatter hit her that she realised she was rushing out. Viraj was just a cry behind her, begging her to forgive him, apologising.
She saw a car pull up in the driveway, Justin’s face illuminated by the overhead lights inside before he jumped out with concern.
A pair of arms enveloped her shoulders. It had been too long since he hugged her, more so like this. Like he was afraid of losing her, afraid of her losing it.
The back of her blouse getting wet with Viraj’s warm tears, and the rain kissing the pair from all around, they slid to the ground.
“I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry”
Justin’s shouts became closer and closer until he stood in front of them. He kept asking what happened but she was out of words to describe the sudden pain in her life. Maybe it had always been there.
If she was a stranger to Viraj, who else did she have? Maybe not even herself.
Her first cry tore out of her throat, and it agonised her more than abate her grief. She caved into herself and Viraj bent with her, on her back with his cheeks muttering the same nothings again and again.
“Justin…!” Ramya cried.
“Amma? Tell me, what happened?!”
“Justin! Please take me away.”
“What?”
Against Viraj’s protests, she stretched a hand out for Justin which he took as fast as lightning.
“Please take me away! I want to go… G-Go—”
He pulled her out of Viraj’s desperate grip into his arms. “Let’s go… Where should we go?” He took her purse, supporting her towards his car. Justin dreaded the day he’d find Ramya on Viraj’s doorstep with her heart broken and her life flashing before her eyes. He hated this.
“It’s ok, it’s going to be ok… Easy there…!”
“I want to turn back Justin!” she cried into his shoulder. His brotherly arms around kept her grounded. “I want to turn back so badly. But before I go back to him, take me away.”
“Ramya I’m so sorry!”
Viraj’s cries turned to his father-in-law at his doorstep while Justin got Ramya safely into the car. They were silhouettes marred by the elusive darkness of the night, wracked with guilt.
“Let’s go…” Justin sighed. “It’s going to be ok amma.”
“I want to go home!” she cried.
“Home?”
“Home…! I want to go home! Home! Please take me home… I want to be home!”

so i was watching Fit's stream and he was cleaning up a Federation outpost.... what's up with the outpost names huh? long post warning TL;DR at bottom.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sector A's outpost names are derived from Slavic mythology; specifically special places from the myths. after searching these names online i found this website: https://meettheslavs.com/slavic-mythological-places/ taking from the website; 1. there's a "mystical mountain of Vitor" that's "built in heaven" and "hard to find because it changes its location as soon as the wind blows in a different direction". it's also said to have dragons living on it (this is the one Fit was sent to for repairs, and it also had weird blue draconic-looking creatures around it. it was also an icy mountain...) 2. there's a "Buyan/Bujan Island", described to "appear and disappear with the tides" and be the "dwelling place of three brothers, the Northern, Western and Eastern winds". 3. there's a "Kingdom of Opona", an "imaginary place [that] existed at the edge of the Earth which [ancient Russians] imagined as a flat plane." it was believed "free and happy [peasants]" lived in this country under a "true and just" ruler. 4. there's a "Vyraj/Viraj", a "resting place for the souls and spirits" AKA the equivalent of Heaven in Slavic mythology. it's "a place where birds find their retreat in the winter". (notably this outpost is inactive) 5. lastly there's a "Nav/Nawia", a "mysterious place for the souls of the dead", and "often interpreted as another version of the imaginary place Vyraj", so AKA Hell or the Underworld. (the Hell outpost is active but not the Heaven outpost???) If Outpost Vitor sort of matches the description from the myth, maybe the other outposts do too? so like Bujan is on an island in the sea, Opona is super far out in a village maybe, Viraj and Nawia i have no clue... Sector B's outpost names are derived from Norse mythology; specifically Norse gods. being a nerd i noticed this instantly which was what tipped me off to search up Sector A's names. taking from various sources, but mostly from their Wikipedia articles: 1. "Tyr" is an one-armed god representing justice and fair treaties despite being a god of war, who lost his arm in the process of binding Fenrir the wolf. he dies in Ragnarök. 2. "Odin/Woden/Wodan" is the ruler of Asgard, the All-Father, and the one-eyed god of wisdom war, and death. he presided over Valhalla, a sacred hall that housed dead warriors in preparation for Ragnarok. he dies in Ragnarök. 3. "Thor/Donar" is probably the most popular Norse god, the god of thunder. the embodiment of strength, he is the protector of the Æsir and the humans. he dies in Ragnarök. 4. "Máni" is the god of the Moon and brother of Sol, the goddess of the Sun. they is eternally chased by Skoll and Hati, two wolves who seek to plunge the world into chaos by eating the Sun and Moon. he dies in Ragnarök. 5. Outpost Frïja I believe is "Frigg", the Queen of Asgard and the goddess of marriage, family and motherhood. she lives in Ragnarök. notably, all five gods (and goddess) lend their names to days of the week (Máni -> Monday, Tyr -> Tuesday, Woden -> Wednesday, Thor -> Thursday, and Frigg -> Friday). none of these outposts are active, they are all inactive or under maintenance, so i'm inclined to believe these aren't as important right now as compared to Sector A... still, these outposts are named after Slavic and Norse myths for a reason possibly so these might be significant. Nothing particularly comes to mind but if anyone has any idea feel free to add on... TL;DR: Federation Outpost names from Fit's stream have Slavic/Norse mythology inspired names, possible significance?

Raghav Arora finally felt like he'd reached the peak of melodrama. He was begrudgingly waiting for Gurnaz and Viraj (yuck) to join them so they could "talk it out". He didn't know how far they were going to get with the conversation, but he had promised his loved ones that he'd give the peace talks a shot. His hand was grasping his fiancée's for moral support as his knee bopped up and down anxiously. His eyes glanced up at Vicky and Ria. The couple had somehow defected and offered their support for his sister and her... whatever Viraj was to her. Lover? Good god, he was about to barf. "Are you sure woh aa raha hai? It wouldn't be the first time he went back on his word." He received a warning look from his younger brother who'd joined them from Amritsar for the occasion.
As if on cue, the sound of a car pulling up to Vikram's parents bungalow. A few moments later, Gurnaz and Viraj appeared. Raghav was almost shocked to see his sister looking so... happy? She certainly wasn't looking as drained or forlorn as she did in weeks prior. "Hi bhaiya," she greeted with a smile, the youngest Arora sibling letting go of her boyfriend's hand to greet both her brothers and her soon-to-be bhabi with hugs first before greeting Vikram and Ria. Her eyes shone with joy and hope that this was even happening and a silent thanks to the other couple in question for bringing her big brother around.

watched hi nanna today and it was so good!
the female lead talking about not wanting to get married or have kids AND not being ridiculed for it was not smth i expected to watch in a telugu movie but it gave me exactly that!
my first favourite scene in the movie was the one where yashna breaks down after finding about their daughter's condition and she starts taking it out on viraj and he tries his best to hug her and they end up on the floor with him holding her down. i just loved everything about it! the acting was honestly amazing. mrunal did a fantastic job and even the way it was shot was just,,, beautiful
my second favourite scene was the one where viraj talks about having kids and yashna freaks out and they argue about it and viraj goes out the door saying he wished he never married her but immediately comes back in and hugs her and they make up
ALSO i love that the movie still has that lil bit of silliness that most telugu rom coms do!
i'm really not sure how i feel about the ending tho bc i didn't like it after finishing the movie bc i thought viraj deserved someone better than yashna?? hated that she blamed him for their daughter's condition but now that i think about it.... i feel like viraj should've been more understanding about her stance on kids so he shouldn't have brought up kids so suddenly in the first place and now i've finally come to the conclusion that it kinda makes sense lol
another favourite thing about the movie is yashna's character! she's a woman who's scared of getting married bc of her parents own broken marriage and doesn't want to have kids bc what if her marriage fails too? she doesn't want to put her kids through what she'd experienced and it's such a valid fear for someone like her. and sure, she gets over her fear of marriage bc of viraj but it's not easy for her to change the way she thinks about kids and so she tells viraj that she's worried that if they have kids and their marriage ends up failing, then it's gonna hit the kids the hardest and she doesn't want that which, again, makes so much sense for someone who grew up the way she did but viraj did not grow the way she did and so he hates that she thinks so pessimistically about their marriage and they have a fight about it
and after they end up having a daughter who's diagnosed at birth with a fatal pulmonary condition, yashna freaks out bc her worst fear has come true in a way she did not expect it to. she has to put her daughter through so much trouble but not bc of why she thought it would be that way
and and and the fact that the three of them don't together until after yashna gets better is amazing! might not work for everyone but it worked for them haha

I have my finals going on, so I have been extremely disturbed by this whole scenario, so I had to rant. But I'm better now.
no maan it's not about loosing. A whole lot of people's hope broke (certainly not just Indians).
One shouldn't take humiliation in loosing.
Like ik all of us are heartbroken, but I'm more in pain for the team. After such beautiful performances this happened.
It was so so painful to see Rohit cry.
You can't blame them, can you? Afterall, they have been giving their best all this while.
All I feel rn is that even tho they didn't win the match and the cup which they and only they deserved the most, they won a lot lot more than that, they won all our hearts.
They shattered so so MANY records. Everyone played OUTSTANDING and OMG Rohit, Virat, Viraj, Shubman, Shreyas, Jadeja, Pandya, Shami... YOU ALL WERE BEYOND THAT.
And lets not forget the fact that India still continues to stand on the 1st position in the world cup table despite the loss.
I know for a fact that it was more of fate was more responsible for everything than their play.
The past undefeatable magic of their healed a lot within me, even tho after this, a part of me is in deep ache.
Thanks a ton to the wonderful team India. My heart swells with pride and mind can't help but be further more devoted to you and Cricket.
And congrats to Australian cricket team.

Ok so I found some interesting stuff I think?
I was just watching a clip and Fit was sent on a mission and found this book full of outpost names and I paused and searched them up and...
all of Sector A is named after mythical utopian (except for 1) locations from Slavic folklore and all of Sector B is named after Norse gods I think.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vitor-A name that means champion. Also maybe a mountain in Slavic mythology that was made in heaven and frequently changes locations Bujan-(Buyan) A mythical island paradise that appears and reappears with the tide. Opona-(the kingdom of Opona) A utopia where peasants are no longer oppressed and live happily under the rule of a pure and just tsar Viraj-(Iriy) The place human souls in the form of birds fly to for winter Nawia-(Nav) The underworld. Basically the result of Christianity's influence on Iriy. Also its where souls that died tragic deaths go. They're jealous of the living and become monsters. Tyr-The Norse god of war Wodan-Odin. Donar-Thor Mani-Possibly the Norse god of the moon? Frija-Either Freya or Frigg
-
I really want to talk about Sector A cause it has some really strong connections to Quesadilla Island.
(pretty much all the info I got was from wikipedia, excluding Vitor, which I only found one source for)
Vitor is a mysterious mountain that changes location with the wind. Apparently dragons live on it. And it was created in heaven by the god of thunder and war, Perun.
Bujan is really interesting. It reminds me of Quesadilla Island a lot. It's a paradise and home to three brothers, The West, East, and North Wind. It's also home to The Deathless, who hid his immortality/soul in an egg and then hid that egg in a tree. It's also said the island was made in heaven by Perun. There's also a legend that there's a stone with healing properties guarded by a bird and serpent. (also note that an "strong east wind" was a reason for evacuation of the outpost. (If the two white and one black Curucuhos are brothers that correspond to the wind, did one of them go berserk?))
The Kingdom of Opona is a utopia where all the peasants are no longer oppressed and live happily under a white Tsar.
Vyraj is the place where human souls, in the form of birds, go to for winter, before returning to be reborn (sometimes the returning souls are carried by storks and nightjars)
So yea I just think all this is interesting.
Also this probably is a coincidence but Odin is charge of preparing fallen warriors, the Einherjar, for Ragnarok and for a split second I started wondering if the island was like Valhalla and that's why it's so fucked up and full of things that can one shot you if you aren't wearing armor. Or maybe Etoiles is like an Einherjar. He keeps being told to protect something... Or maybe I need to chill out and read an actual fucking book for a little bit.
Small thing but I spelled Einherjar right on my first try :D am proud of myself.

hi nanna spoilers (cmon watch the movie before reading)
yashna's story in the film makes me so fucking sad bro- she!! never!! wanted!! a divorce!!!!
the dialogues about her "giving up when things get hard" SHE DIDNT, THOUGH!!!!
yes she said those hurtful things to viraj but she didn't even get time to process or see his reaction before the accident happened- she didn't get a chance to repent!!!!!!
she was sad, she was hurting so bad, she didn't know how to cope, (plus. pregnancy/post pregnancy hormones, come on) but she never wanted to leave him!!!!!
they would've definitely worked things out if she hasn't lost her memory/ if her absolute asshole of a mother hadn't lied to take control of her life once again imo
the ending of the film is like. my biggest grievance with them- no one told her!!! no one told HIM that she never wanted a divorce???? they dont show us viraj and yashna working things out!!! they all need family therapy bro please give me more viraj yashna content i am losing my mind over this

All my OC outfits in one place!! let's go.
Pink one: Name: Amrita Pronouns: prefers they/them but ok with any Age: 25 Affiliation: Chatrakam Tea Farm Weapon: Catalyst Vision: Dendro Constellation: Camellia Sinensis
Story: Most people who meet Amrita see a gracious, warm, and charming tea farm owner who is as passionate about their customers as they are about cultivating tea. After all, Amrita graduated from the Amurta darshan of the Sumeru Akademiya, using their knowledge to cultivate tea plants to perfection after inheriting the Chatrakam Tea Farm from their father. Most people don't know that Amrita worked just as hard to cultivate their reputation as they did to cultivate their tea. Amrita is well-experienced in the art of playing to peoples' expectations. After all, telling people what they want to hear is something that comes naturally to skilled business owners. Amrita thought they were pretty good at reading people and gauging their desires. That is, until Viraj showed up at their doorstep.
Purple one: Name: Viraj Pronouns: he/they Age: 25 Affiliation: none Weapon: Sword Vision: none Constellation: Telescopia Story: Viraj's time at the Akademiya wasn't really remarkable. When they graduated from Ksharewar, their classmates barely knew them. However, after coming across research by one Dastur Zandik, Viraj became fascinated with Khaenri'ah and its ruins—particularly its mechanisms surrounding ley lines and abyssal energy. Viraj has always had a desire to become stronger. He trained with a sword until he perfected it. He trained his mind and emotions until he didn't need anyone anymore. He learned everything there was to know about ruin mechanisms until he could conduct explorations on his own. Their desire to become self-sufficient surpassed everything, including their family and friends. They stopped desiring pure self-sufficiency—they wanted omnipotence. He wanted to attain godhood. So, when he heard about a device that could control abyssal energy, he decided to pursue it at all costs. Even if that meant revisiting his childhood friend Amrita.
Yellow one: Name: Surya Pronouns: she/they Age: ??? Affiliation: Spantamad Weapon: none Vision: none Constellation: Firmamentum
Story: Surya is quite the enigma. No one entirely knows where she's from. Nor what she does. All most people know is that she's one of the most prolific figures of the Spantamad darshan. Her research into ley lines and the nuances of elemental energy is extremely detailed and well-documented, meticulous to the extremes. Most people are a bit afraid of her—such a respectable academic figure would surely be aloof and too busy to entertain small talk, right? Not even counting the fact that she radiates an almost godlike aura, commanding respect with even the smallest of gestures. The truth is, she's just a bit of an introvert who gets a bit shy when starting conversations. Those who know her, however, know that she's the most genuine, warm, and supportive person you'll ever meet. As for her godlike aura, well, that's because she is in fact a literal god. She doesn't try to hide it. People just never really ask. Not even her best friend Amrita.
Gray?? Green?? one: Name: Kal [pronounced KUHL] (this is not their real name but they've been going by it for decades. no one knows why) Pronouns: ok with they/them, don't really have a preference Age: 32 Affiliation: Vahumana Weapon: none Vision: none Constellation: Umbra Sectator
Story: Kal has always shied away from the spotlight. They hate taking the lead, they hate making decisions, they hate being noticed. They never lead or co-lead any sort of research during their time in the Vahumana darshan—they managed to scrape together credits to graduate by reviewing and editing a wide variety of different projects. Their dedication the the integrity of research and the scientific method is impressive—they managed to secure a decent amount of Akademiya funding and a modest house due to their dedication to reviewing older research and re-evaluating it by modern standards, bringing previously buried research back into the spotlight and reviewing research that was previously regarded as the unquestionable truth. Unfortunately, this reviewed research just happened to include the works of a particular Ksharewar researcher who happened to be really into Khaenriahn ley line mechanisms. Which led a certain Viraj to drag Kal out of their tranquil existence of all-nighters fueled by Amrita's extra-caffeinated black tea and not leaving their house for days.

Allen is staying with a girl named Vira’s family while some things are getting sorted out. also Allen is a dragon
Tumblr media
So just a few tad bits of info Vira is in the right and Allen is on the left. Allen is a shapeshifting dragon who took on the appearance of a human boy so he could stay with the Viraj residence.
Vira viraj (the one who found him) soon becomes his best friend and only guide in the puzzling human world.
Well hey at least they get Dosa right?

this is the hi nanna anon again, and oml i do agree w you about yashna crossing the lines!! the black saree thing, her acting like she has a right to question viraj's decisions about mahi, etc
but overall it was overshadowed by the number of things i loved in the movie/the emotions
I think Mrunal being drawn to viraj/mahi did make sense in my head, because I felt like- even though she forgot those memories, her body would remember? i'm not fully sure what I meant but something along the lines of recognising the comfort viraj gave her & subconsciously recognising bits of herself/someone she loved in mahi? but all that might just be the romantic in me being delulu lmao
and I get what you mean by not vibing with it/feeling like it was Too Much, (especially after the malayalam movies), that does make sense.
I desperately needed both the lead characters to go to therapy so many times 😭 helping yashna cope w her trauma before conceiving mahi would've helped in so many ways, no? and like. my brain has been full of thoughts of them dealing with their trauma after the end of the movie (if they make a part 2 exploring their dynamics, i'd die of joy. unfortunately it's not likely to happen at all smh)
and yes 65 roses was so cute and genius
anyway, thanks for answering!! (and for dealing with my unprompted essay lol)
YASHNA i could not for the life of me remember their names lmfao -- and yeah like as far as she knows shes a random stranger and she's demanding traumatic memories and answer from literally a guy at a coffeeshop like 😭😭 please he just spent all day frantically searching for his daughter maybe find him a therapist instead
for me her being drawn to him made sense in like a, the dog recognizing the kid and him, the fact that they didnt stray from their life paths after the accident, like if they were married they would be in the same place not just because they were together but because their lives just played out like that. but i can see how you see it (im a hopeless romantic too so i want this more than the analytical way) and especially with how much trauma yashna went through and only found comfort in viraj, so even without conscious memory her subconscious would still find comfort in him..................... anon i am subscribing to your beliefs
I KNOWWWWWW LIKE PLEASE 7CUPS IS FREEEEE!!!!!!!!! if i was in that movie i would be getting my degree in psychiatry specifically for them. on god we are getting your mental health above the ground bro
Tumblr media
yesssssssssssssss, nani has such a Father Face in a way i cannot explain so its for me specifically that he's playing more now that he's older. if i wasnt in love with him i'd ask him to adopt me (and tbh. he's more than old enough to.)
jersey was so sad, i still tear up when i listen to the songs :(((( its a movie i definitely want to watch again when my emotional capacity is more stable lmaoo
no worries at all, i loooooove essay asks like we r having an intellectual conversation in this chilis tonight 🙏🏽🙏🏽 i will literally never be annoyed im like omg friend :]

Welcome!
To everyone who has followed me here from Twitter and new followers alike, I'm glad to see you!
I'm Ravendas, FFXIV-obsessed old lady who enjoys making and sharing poses, screenshots, fics, and various ramblings about my OCs!
My poses can be found mostly on my Carrd (though I'm slowly working on shuffling them all onto Gumroad):
For those who don't already know them, my mains are:
Hyperia kir Quinntus
Tumblr media
Half-Garlean, half-Ala Mhigan engineer and badass. She's been through quite a bit of shit in her years, but has managed to claw her way towards happiness, thanks to her partner...
Amasandji "Sanji" Oronir
Tumblr media
The "black sheep" of his clan, due to his gentle, bookish nature, Sanji fled the Steppe and made his way across Eorzea until fate had him saving Hyperia's life. After that day, their friendship slowly bloomed into a love that no one could tear away. While he was ever at odds with the rest of his family, he always adored his little sister....
Ibakha "Jaya" Oronir
Tumblr media
Sassy, classy, and a bit smart-assy is the best way to describe this firecracker of a Xaela. From a young age, she appointed herself as her older brother's guardian from the rest of his family, staying loyally by his side until the day he left the Steppe. As soon as she came of age, she followed in his footsteps, tracking him across the realms with the help of....
Khaishan Iriq
Tumblr media
Broody, sullen, with a mysterious past, this Xaela speaks little of himself, but is always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Fleeing the Steppe for reasons known to none but himself, he became a mercenary, earning his gil as a caravan guard, bodyguard, and general muscle...until the day he took Jaya under his wing and she "adopted" him into her family. He's slowly beginning to loosen up around them, however, he still had little patience for noble fops like...
Viraj Acharya
Tumblr media
Sent to Eorzea as an emissary from The Great Work Thavnair, the youngest son of the Acharya clan sought to prove himself as an accomplished alchemist and diplomat while enjoying the sights and pleasures of the region. Whilst doing so, he encountered the rest of the crew during a night out on the town. Intrigued by the potential merging of alchemy and tech that Hyperia's company offered, he accepted a position in the biotech division.. Since then, they have become fast friends (though perhaps a bit more slowly for Khaishan).

"Remember me" Ruhi and her sister 🥹
Thank you so much for all the fun prompts love! 💖 I know this one was a typo, but you gave me such an amazing idea that I had to write it out, so I hope that’s okay!
Context: Viraj was Ruhi’s arranged husband, but they were both in love with someone else. The day of the wedding, they confessed their love to their childhood friend Avir, but Avir was only in love with Viraj and convinced him to run away. Ruhi’s mother tried to marry her off again immediately, and Ruhi was so distraught that she ran away and accidentally fell into Paradise. Years after recovering from the heartbreak, she finally asks King Gazali to let her see her friends, but she only finds Viraj, dying from illness in a hospital.
The Birth of Paradise - Remembrance
Ruhi couldn't recognize her old friend. Time had worn Viraj’s strong and glowing face down to a dull, wrinkled slab. She half-expected Avir to be sitting beside him, also afflicted by the passing years, but Viraj was all alone in the room. No family, no friends, not even a neighboring patient in the bed next to his own. It was just him and Ruhi.
The view from the window brought a tear to Ruhi’s eye: her town had changed so much. Their old park, where she and Viraj and Avir spent most of their younger years, was completely gone. It was nothing more than a big square of dirt in the moonlight.
Ruhi took a deep breath and approached Viraj. Her gentle hand on his arm roused him from his sleep.
“It’s too early for medication.”
His soft voice broke her heart. When they were due to be married, his voice could have shaken the sea. Now, it was a wisp of wind rushing by on a late afternoon. Ruhi composed herself, knowing that Gazali’s magic wouldn’t last very long. She wanted whatever time she could get from Viraj.
“It’s been a long time,” she said, “and the years have been unkind to you, but I hope somewhere in your mind, you remember me.”
Viraj finally focused on her face, studied her features… and began to cry. His shaky hand came up to her cheek.
“Ruhi,” he whispered, and she cried right beside him.
“Yes, I’m here.”
She pressed her head against his, waiting patiently as he found his words.
“You haven’t aged a day.”
She chuckled. “I know.”
“Ruhi—” he coughed. “Am I dead?”
“No, dear. You’re very much alive.”
“But you’re here. They told us you jumped.”
Ruhi screwed her eyes shut. “They were going to arrange another marriage. I felt hopeless without you and Avir. I’m so sorry, Viraj—”
He coughed again, harder and longer. “No, Ruhi. It wasn’t your fault. We never should have left.”
“Please, don’t blame yourself.”
“I wanted to go back for you. Avir just wanted to run, and— I let him convince me to leave. The next day, we heard you were gone.” Viraj stared out the window at the moon. “Thirty-five years, I’ve had to live with what we did.”
Ruhi hushed him and held his head to her shoulder. He clasped her hand, still mumbling to himself about Avir. His warbled breathing broke her heart.
“Please,” she said, “tell me about your life. What have you seen?”
“Nothing compared to your life, I’m sure.”
“Tell me anyway, please.”
Viraj looked up at her. “We went to France.”
“You did? How was it?”
“Just as beautiful as I imagined. Avir tried to sell his work there, but it never took off.”
Ruhi brushed his brittle gray hair. “So you moved back home?”
“I did… but Avir went to America to sell his art.” He closed his eyes. “He called me his muse, long ago. I must have stopped inspiring him. They let me attend the funeral, at least.”
That explained why Avir was nowhere to be seen. Their love hadn’t lasted, and if Ruhi had still lived on the Mainland, she may have felt even worse about being left that day under the mandap. Now, seeing what Viraj’s life had become compared to hers, she couldn’t help but feel she had dodged a bullet.
“I never did marry,” Viraj said. “Not that I could have, anyway. My reputation crumbled when I left you.”
“Viraj…” Ruhi held him tighter. “I wish I could have brought you with me.”
“Where did you go?”
“You’ll think I’m crazy.”
“You’re not crazy, Ruhi. You were always the smart one.”
She smiled. “Thank you.”
“So where were you?”
“The water took me somewhere far away. I wasn’t entirely appreciative of it, at first, but I’ve come to love it. The people are kind, and you can live your dreams without ridicule.”
Ruhi smiled as she thought about Paradise, of her friends, her life— and her wonderful, beautiful, talented roommate.
“I think I’ve found love.”
Viraj’s eyes brightened up at the sound of her voice. “You have?”
“Her name is Cecilia, she’s a dancer. The most amazing and beautiful dancer I’ve ever seen.”
“A dancer…”
His voice sounded weaker than before. Ruhi tightened her grip on his hand, as though it would keep him with her.
“So please don’t blame yourself, Viraj. I think I’m finally happy.”
“Happy…”
She nodded. “Yes, I’m happy.”
“That’s… wonderful.”
He leaned back against his bed. The noises of the monitor were starting to slow down, to Ruhi’s dismay. She wouldn’t leave him until he was truly gone. He needed her, now more than ever before.
“Viraj, were you ever happy?”
A smile spread across his wrinkled face. “I’m happy now, Ruhi.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ruhi dried her eyes as she returned to Gazali’s Sanctuary. The purple, star-covered sky shimmered through the window, and Ruhi had never felt more at home. She opened the doors and stepped into the pavilion, where Gazali and the others were waiting. The king smiled at her gently.
“Are you okay?”
“Yes, sir. Thank you.”
“Of course. I hope you found what you were looking for.”
Ruhi searched through the crowd until she found Cecilia. Her dark skin glowed in the starlight, and her messy curls were more beautiful than ever.
“I did, your majesty.”
She walked over, stood on her toes, and kissed Cecilia until she couldn’t stand upright anymore. Her lips were so soft, like petals in spring. She held Ruhi closer so she wouldn’t stumble and fall away too early. When they finally parted, Ruhi combed her hand through Cecilia’s hair.
“I couldn’t be any happier than I am with you.”
Cecilia giggled and wiped away a tear. “Neither could I, Rue.”
Ruhi kissed her again, not even caring that their friends were watching and grinning at them. Back home, she had been convinced that her life was over. Now, she had a long and happy life to look forward to, with someone that she could confidently say that she loved more than anything in the world.
