“If we want this to go smoothly, you should get rid of your weapons.” He points out, nodding to the bow on your back. Your brows furrow at the thought of listening to his stupidity. What, does he take you for an imbecile?

The alarmed look that crosses your face at the suggestion is enough to get your silent answer across to the simian, who chuckles a bit under his breath. “What? It’s not like that old geezer from the monastery would send a messenger with all of your little stabby-sticks. Besides, you’re a good enough actor. We both know that.”

At the mention, he taps on the circlet around his head, and you look away. “If we want to get Master’s clothes back, you will have to be convincing. That means no pointy objects of any kind. Besides, it isn’t as though you can shoot anything at the moment.” He lifts up your injured wrist before you have the chance to snap it out of his grasp.

“I am not walking into the lair of a demon defenceless.” You glare daggers into his head, and the sage scoffs a little dramatically.

“You forget, you will be walking in with Ol’ Monkey in your hands. I’m the greatest weapon you will ever encounter!” He grins, gesturing to himself with a hand over his chest.

You look the demon up and down, unamused by his showboating. “…Right.”
