Oki I believe I am a very patient person when it come to opinions on that show - the witcher if this is not obvious - but I just wanna cry right now of frustration and mixed feelings.
I had an argument with a long time friend about the show where they were basically telling that they validate the heat around the show because it was lazy and not respectful of the books. They gave me many aspects that were in fact taken from hateful Reddits and half of it was badly related to the book. I spent hours to develop my conter argument and gave explanations from the books to break the false things. To which I was not only not read but given the most shut up answer ever, all the false exemples were taken again to justify their point. And after some heat they said to me that they read just the two books with the short stories, because that was too dark...
I stopped talking about the show, wanted to keep that friendish alive. We had other things to discuss and in common.
Recently they were interested again and I began to give them extracts from my analysis about the meta narration I love about the show. I had to rewrite a full thing to be readable without much of the context and give a clear example (took me like 2h by the way). After 24h they answer me : I had to watch some videos explaining what people don't like about the show to understand better.
The conclusion is they are interested in my analysis of meta narration but it makes no sense to them because it is not what the show puts front while changing things which is bad. This sentence is one magical thing.
"Why don't they put the frame over the picture in this painting ?" makes the same sense... Anyway...
Now they have the head full of hating stuff probably. And I can put my analysis to fire AGAIN.
Why do I believe this kind of things are interesting ? Why do I believe I can share it to anyone ? This is just me getting excited because I love the show and I feel used and stomped over.
This is just a show, I know. But it keeps me mind busy to face the rest of the life.
Ok fucking crying now.... Fuck it !

pls tell us all about your ocs im beGGIN
aHH ok a couple people asked so!!!!! also ive included some of my drawings!! (tIS BELOW THE CUT)
oK SO STARTING OFF WE HAVE commander blanche!
hE’s a bit Cold and Stern but he’s a softy!!! his squadron (sunburst squadron) is a nIGHTMARE to run. it’s like herding cats dhsksn. his eye and his hair are from like a genetic mutation and nO HE DIDNT DYE IT OK?? tbh i still need to flesh him out more but he just wants to bring all his men home safe, will throw himself into battle wiTHOUT hesitation and just rad guy dhdkdn
next we have sgt. blue!
he’s.,.,.sO Tired. boy’s been through it. the scar across his face is from jumping between his general and a dark side force user, HE HAS A HEART OF GOLD AND SOMETIMES DOESNT THINK THINGS THROUGH WHEN IT COMES TO DANGER BUT he baby. again i nEED TO FLESH HIM OUT MORE BUT DHSKSN
ok nEXT we have our lovely sharpshooter, sweets!
he’s Very Shy. he’s the youngest in the squadron but was bumped up into sunburst squadron bc of his skill. he doesn’t like talking much so he’ll pat your arm or grab his brother’s shoulders to get their attention. when he does speak, it’s very soft spoken and gentle. he got in trouble a lot when he was a cadet for trying to befriend the service droids or little animals he would find. if you mention something you like, like a certain type of flower or necklace, WHATEVER he does kinda have....sticky fingers...so he’ll just Snatch the thing you like unprompted and then later he’ll just shove it into your hands and walk away. 1000/10 deserves a kith
oKiE next we have kamikaze (kaze or kami for short) and jaws.
so kamikaze or kami OR kaze for short—he’s the pilot! earned is name for a reason bc this boy is fuckin WILD with piloting. he likes to brag that he’s the best pilot in the GAR which—idk you’re gonna have to judge that yourself. bc yeah he always makes it out alive whethet or not his ship is all but bLOWN UP but—he’s cocky and you might end up loosing your lunch since he tends to do a lot of barrel rolls or made up stunts. he’s a sweetheart tho, after you push aside the cocky and happy go lucky attitude. he’s super hyper most of the time so the squad likes to joke that he has designated nap time dhdjdbd
jaws!!! JAWS MY BOY—he got his name because one time he almost got eaten by a nexu the day after being promoted from cadet. he’s a Flirt, but gets awkward when you flirt with him back. he loVES holodramas or holonovels and therefore a hOpeLESS romantic rvdkdb unfortunately he some how believes that bad pick up lines work,?,,,?! he has some wild scars on his back and will have nO HESITATION to show you the nexu teeth marks. he has a tendancy to “adopt” little creatures or encourage sweets to steal one so That is an Issue
then fuse!
can you....guess..,.what he enjoye? if you guess setting shit on fire/blowing things up then yUh. the reason he has different colored tattoos is because he was originally from another squadron but was reminded too many times and he was sort of Forced out. FORTUNATELY the general transfered him in sunburst squadron and let’s him be the explosives guy. he’s also very hyper and gets ALONG GREAT with kamikaze—a little too well fhdkd the chaos bros for sure. he’s super rambunctious/loud, isnt shy to tell you what he thinks—even those in higher command. he gets in trouble for it but he has a heart of gold and means well!
and then the medic!! void
vOid is Tired....sO TIRED OF DEALING WITH fuse and kamikaze’s cOUNTLESS stupid injuries. he’s the Mom friend and will literally run and tackle you if you aren’t drinking water or taking the meds he’s perscibed. arguably the Smartest one in the bunch—at least with common sense fhdkdb he’s bffs with blue and theyre the Mean Girls of the squad, silently judging you always dhsksn. he definitely overworks himself a LOT just because he cant stand to be alone with his thoughts for long or else he starts to fixate on all the lives he couldnt save. he needs a pHat nap and a cup of caf sO PLEASE give him this, he also always has a massive headache due to the bafoonery he must deal with 25/8 dhsksn
ALSO HERES SOME REALLY ROUGH SKETCHES OF MY 90s plASTIC CUP BABIES RHDKDN
also bonus half sketch/comic of ahsoka that im too lazy to finish rhdkdn
#aHhhhh this is so nervewracking omg#ive never posted aRT AHHH DHDKDN#also i know it’s self indulgent but dhsk#ask#keida answers#my art#clone ocs#the clone wars#tcw#star wars oc

howdy hey , pardnerrrs :> i’m rox ( she / her ) ‘n i’ll be playing yr residential sullen broodin’ boy , nico . i didn’t have the time to write out a whole new intro , given that i have back to back classes again today :-’( , so please forgive me for recycling his old intro akawodkgrsd ; . that being said , i did tweak around some tingz and i updated his wcs for him , so if yr down to clown around just hmu on my discord : 𝔰𝔴𝔢𝔢𝔱 𝔦𝔫𝔰𝔬𝔪𝔫𝔦𝔞#2854 ! okie okie , i’ll shut da eff up now ♡
BASICS.
༉‧₊˚✧ kim taehyung , cis man , he / him / his — did you see that nicholas “nico” yoon was trending last night ? the twenty three year old street artist has been getting a lot of press lately . i think it’s due to them being so + quixotic & + free-spirited , but i always thought they seemed - withdrawn & - sybaritic . their fans always say they remind them of soft smoke rings spun in a dreamy haze , silver-ringed fingers rapping against polished oak , and waning light refracting against broken glass though . i wonder if they’ve found out about REDACTED yet … i guess we’ll have to wait and see . [ rox , 22 , pst , she / her , none ]
PINTEREST & PLAYLIST .
01 and 02 .
PERSONALITY .
at first glance , nico reads as this aloof , arrogant type that doesn’t like to associate w the common public . always keeping the majority of people at a comfortable distance , nico moves almost exclusively within his own social network , and doesn’t like to deviate from what he knows best .
not so much pretentious as he is lazy , making an effort to socialize with complete strangers is simply something that nico would never do . hehe ... he’s kind of shy like that .... ♡ though he’d literally never admit it ♡
despite giving the impression that he’s some intimidating and chronically indifferent kind of guy , nico is genuinely a sweet boy — one who’s in a constant state of confusion as to why people seem to be so scared of him . it always comes as a shock when close friends of his admit that they thought he absolutely hated their guts when they first met him .
b/c tho he’s p smart , nico is very oblivious at times , and he’s 100% the kind of guy who’ll walk away from a conversation thinking he did a rly rly good job trying to make a friend ... when in reality he prob said four words in the span of thirty minutes smh .
overall , nico’s a private person , especially with what he’s thinking ... and it’s really hard to get a clear read on what’s on his mind . sharing his feelings has never been one of nico’s interests b/c he just genuinely doesn’t think whatever he has to say is rly worth mentioning . so he usually just shuts da fuck up n lets other ppl talk so he can mentally gain the strength to continue socializing .
push nico’s buttons enough tho ‘n you’ll catch this mf speaking in full sentences .
lastly , it should b noted that nico is a romantic through n through ... this mf probably d*ed in the victorian era ‘n got reincarnated b/c he’s got that ‘ lets share furtive glances across the room but never say a thing to each other ‘ thing on lock . mr. darcy headass
and while nico might play the role of long-suffering , ever pining lover to a T , he’s more in love w / the idea of love than he is w / any single person . and he literally cannot hold down a relationship w/o fucking it up for himself in some shape or form .
kind of sarcastic ... v much the teasing type ....
can b very impulsive at times , loves to go on solo adventures at night , prefers his own company tbh ...
overview : melancholic , reticent , noncommittal , humble , mild-mannered , romantic .
a mix of : josh from clueless and j.d. from heathers
more here .
MORE AESTHETICS.
the chill of silver jewelry against flushed skin , forgotten graffiti on porcelain sinks , flickering motel lights , kisses sticky with vodka , eyes ringed with lavender , sleepless nights surrendered to the dull buzz of television , obscure art house films , sun-kissed cheeks , the surprise of summer rain , chest aching with lost loves , scattered baby’s breath and rosemary , and a shared smile between perfect strangers .
CHARACTER DISSERTATION.
nico was born on a brisk wintry morning in the fashion district of los angeles ( january 21st , 1997 ) to a family of six .
as the second youngest child , and the only male son to boot , nico grew up with his only inheritance being a generational kind of hunger , one that demanded for more than what his struggling parents could offer
the arts stole nico at an early age ... ushering him into a world of creation and freedom beyond the four bleak walls he daily occupied . from spending lonely summers tucked away in some forgotten corner in the library to practicing on a borrowed violin from dawn to dusk , nico knew that even with nothing at his disposal , there was always something to be made w/ the tools he’d been given
despite not having the money for private tutors to hone their son’s growing artistic talents , his parents did whatever they could to support his dreams , whether that meant working double shifts back to back or scrounging for loose change underneath the sofa cushions to pay for whatever materials nico needed .
it was in this strange way that nico grew up p spoiled . somehow having nothing while also having absolutely everything at the same time .
very much a family man , the first big purchase nico made once he broke out in hollywood was a house in beverly hills for his parents . now that he’s finally at a place where he can take care of his family , nico makes sure that his parents and sisters want for nothing
while he showers everyone else with generous gifts and obscene amounts of money , nico doesn’t particularly feel comfortable doing the same for himself . he’s a simple man through n through . one who’s content to spend his time walking his dog late at night , listening to a podcast on his airpods , instead of going out to a club w/ other well-known socialites .
a true artist at heart , nico refuses to conform to the current trends of hollywood , instead insisting on wearing thrifted clothes to important galas — much to the frustration of his PR team and the chagrin of his stylists . but none of the choices nico makes seems to surprise anyone anymore . driving flashy cars and wearing designer clothes has never really been his style , after all . and it’s important to him that he remain authentically himself despite everything .
WANTED CONNECTS.
pr relationship ( open ) : someone that nico is contractually obligated to date ... i could totally see there being drama ‘n tension from having to pretend to actually like each other ... would b better if they rly did not like each other at all ...
fwb ( open ) : buddies who bump uglies sometimes ... they both agreed they’d never catch feelings for each other but we’ll see ...
frenemies ( open ) : someone that grinds nico’s gears but they’re a friend of his friend ... so they’re forced to keep it civil . i can see them exchanging hateful comments in the back of their friend’s car while simultaneously posting pics of each other on ig to keep up the rouse .
unrequited crush ( open ) : likely nico would not realize if yr muse had a crush on them ... but it’d be fun to play it out like a kdrama anyway heh heh
a close friend group ( open / any ) : i thought it’d b so cute if there was like a small group of friends , maybe 3-4 ppl , that do stupid shit like ditch going to celebrity after-parties to break into abandoned buildings , get real high , ask stupid ‘ would u rather ‘ questions , and do sum main character type shit ... yk what im puttin down ... ‘n nico is def the type to open up in the presence of extroverts so i think having a group of wild outsiders of diff bgs would b v inch resting ..
enemies / rivals ( open / any ) : tbh nico prob rubs ppl the wrong way since he has resting bitch face ‘n never wants to talk to anyone .. so im sure there r ppl who just do not like this mf ... and rest assured that the feeling is mutual ...
bad / good influence ( open / any ) : nico’s known to mount his high horse often ... mr morality over here ... so i just know he prob would butt heads w/ the residential troublemaker . tho nico’s artwork can be controversial and out of the box at times , his art style and his personality are at constant odds , and it’d b interesting to have that bad influence / good influence dynamic w/ someone .
family friend ( open ) : someone who grew up w/ nico in dtla ... couldve gone to the same public school as him ... or their families couldve gone to the same church ...
ok my intro post has become a fucking behemoth so im going to stop here ‘n just say i have so many more wcs in mind so if u wanna plot lets just talk hehe :>

Hingan Life: Alun used to live under the Yabogenki Estate after being homeless for a while, working for the restaurant there - the place was a facade for some criminal business that got her into more of the underworld of Othard, making connections and such. Though she lives there no longer, it’s still fairly easy to find her strolling around Kugane, or recognize the four-horned Xaela from some kind of issues that were brought up recently.
Ex-pirate: Before joining this Hingan life-style, Alun was under the wings of pirates, doing all sorts of jobs that stained her far too much, she has a story and a taste for it, which caused her a certain need for being stronger.
Xaela Runaway: Back home, Alun had to leave her tribe up the mountains and led to her fleeing from the Azim Steppes, which also made her wary of other Xaela. Afraid that might have people looking for her - she not only avoids but scowls at others of your kind, avoiding them if possible but not always.
Curiosity over morals: As she lived reclused for most of her life, her curiosity about the world and land knows no boundaries, willing to see and try all that she can, be it dangerous or not. To exploring and training, or simply meddling with questionable sorts - she won’t hesitate in taking a reckless decision in order to see or try something new.
Aether potential: After suppressing it for many years, Alun has recently found a flair with aether, being earth aspected, she’s still discovering her own ability. Even though it’s raw - having such power without real training or control, it’s bound to take a toll on her… without the proper help.
What I’m Looking For ––– –
Friends
Rivals/Enemies
Teachers
Good/bad™ characters that might influence her.
Heavy/dark themed RP.
Maybe romance/ships but gimme that sweet development juice.

RP HOOKS ––– –
Herectic Advisor: Strange rumors were emerging among the nobles of all city states and the underground, of some audacious magic covert but deliberately occurring at that same place and time. That reckless act was to recover the long gone. A heresy, some would claim ― and yet all of their hearts were claiming to be chosen. There was no specific pattern, except the number of riches you’d carry, and how much you’d offer. (Skadi has a reputation among the rich specifically, though she still keeps a low profile by choosing her clients carefully - anyone that has interest on her skills and can afford her prices are welcome.)
Wanderer: Despite her current life of riches, Skadi doesn’t limit herself to a gilded cage - it’s common to find her wandering in the surroudings of all city states, or wherever her mask might guide her to. She might be interested on the visions of someone seen there, or some kind of long-forgotten artifact. (Skadi seems to be in search of some specific artifacts, she takes the time to stroll around to commune with her god, and to try and find any rumour, or vision of the items she seeks that were scattered across the world, though some are still kept somewhere in Golmore jungle.)
The Ashen Tree: Her homeland, and tribe - though she is considered an exiled, she still keeps her tribe name, and acts on its behalf, for its ancients. Her deeds are all for the sake of her elders, to keep with her ancients’ legacy and belief. Her acts are not welcome or well-seem for her sisters, nor the neighbouring villages - and some of those might be looking for her still. (The Ashen Tree is a tribe of my own making, Skadi damaged it throughly when she left but they still stand and scowl at her, making opportunities to any hunter who might be interested to aid them or be part of them. I’m all willing to let people know about its culture and make characters within it, if discussed first.)
Underground: Her reputation follows her amongst the darker corner of the cities, though she doesn’t seek for much discretion among those - especially when she’s in need of any resource that might come in handy, or anything that might spark her interest. (Skadi is in a constant search for people, vessels that can be used as how she sees fit, and any strange object that has gotten attention. She’ll use all kinds of connections to get what she wants, be it from slavery to simple rumours.)
What I’m Looking For ––– –
Companions to aid her in her goal.
Rivals, anyone that’s not fond of her abilities or hunting her.
Connections, she needs many kinds of resources, be it people or simple ingredients, to information.
Heavy/dark themed RP.
Additional OOC information ––– –
I’m online most of the time(GMT-3), I do both discord and in-game RP, but please have in mind that English is not my main tongue, and I can be slow while RPing in game in order to have a nice post and such, though I’m getting better at that please bear with me or let’s just do Discord instead!
I love dark/mature RP, especially long-term stuff, though I’m very open to a lighter/fluff stuff too, anything goes as long as we get a nice develop. (Regarding heavy injury and other consequences, I think just about anything is oki, if discussed first.)
Contact Information ––– –
You can DM me here on Tumblr, in-game (Balmung), or via discord! (Alun#1949)

SnK 100 Thoughts
“He has the power to wipe out the entire human race, and if we believe there's even a 1% chance that he is our enemy, we have to take it as an absolute certainty. And we have to destroy him.”
Look, if you design a character who agrees with Batman in Batman v Superman, you just sorta have to accept that bad things are going to happen to him.
Though, since we are talking about it...
Now, I’m not making any giant leaps here.
All I’m saying is that technically all Eldians have the name of their mother in common.
Which means Eren’s going to die, Reiner’s Batman, and Wonder Woman is still waiting for her musical cue. Also, War Hammer is Doomsday.
#spoilers
Obviously I missed out on calling Falco Robin, which is even more tragic due to where his life story looks to be taking him, but then we have to get down to assigning a Joker, and I guess Gabi’s a pretty easy Batgirl, but I have a chance here to keep one of these posts short, and I can’t do that if fanfiction is being written in the margin.
Also, I think someone would yell at me if I suggested Zeke for Wonder Woman (heislookingbackatabattlefieldheisdepartingsotheblockingisthereevenifthemoralcenterisn’t) so let’s just stop.
Okay, so the brief summary of this chapter is ding-dong, the witch is dead, only there’s some disagreement over whether it was a good witch or a bad witch. A similar disagreement is ongoing regarding the perpetrator.
Truthfully, the one thing that can be said is that the good or bad witch’s slippers are unlikely to be taken by the good or bad witch who slayed him. They won’t fit, and the good or bad witch murderer already has the most powerful magic in the land.
The briefer summary is that Willy Tybur continues to be terrible, only in such a way that it’s confused for nobility, and I am so very tired of Marley.
He’s willing to die for his belief that his people are irredeemable monsters that should be eradicated--but he’d still rather they not be, because life gives him the warm fuzzies, and maybe the people whose abuse his family’s been profiting off deserve warm fuzzies too.
The idea of a nobleman looking at the life of luxury he has at the cost of his own people, and choosing to make steps to change the world for the better, is not a bad one. Doing that despite a wholehearted belief in their inherent evil is actually very interesting. It’s one more bit of cognitive dissonance that allows Willy to feel guilt over what has been done to his people, even though he thinks the world would be better off without them, and doesn’t mind killing large numbers of them.
At his core, all he is is a man who wants to live in the world he’s been born into, and he’s willing to sacrifice that life for a better world.
Here’s the problem.
His version of a better world is blaming Paradis for everything so that everyone can run off holding hands to murder them all.
He’s willing to die to make that vision a reality.
He’s never met anyone on Paradis. He’s never tried to talk to anyone from Paradis. He’s used diplomacy with nations in the rest of the outside world to ease the horrific damage Marley being Marley has caused itself, but not once with Paradis.
When it comes to the island, murder is always the only solution.
Willy Tybur is the one Eldian with a position in the world that can make a real difference. He can get ambassadors to change their minds. Despite never taking advantage of it, he does have control over Marley. Under his direction, Marley might have avoided the mass series of war crimes that the rest of the world hates them for.
(not that we have any idea why that is)
He doesn’t go that route.
He determines that the best path to world peace is uniting the world to kill his ancestors’ scapegoat.
Martyrdom is not a thing you do because you’re too lazy to put effort into actual change.
It’s easy to look at what Eldians are capable of from birth and call them monsters. It’s easy to say that, obviously, they never should have existed. Even if you have that same blood, and want to be alive, it’s very, very easy to reach that conclusion.
What’s difficult is carving your place into a world that is predisposed to hate you. It takes time, and concentrated effort. It takes giving a damn about treating people decently.
Willy has the means to forge a peaceful, humane coexistence between Eldians and the rest of the world. Or at least the means to make that attempt.
He chooses to forge his peace in the blood of other Eldians. The fact that he’s willing to die for that outcome doesn’t magically turn it into a noble gesture. He’s strong enough to make a decision that will cost countless lives in a war based on nothing but fear and prejudice. And that would be after knowingly sacrificing people he thinks of as less worthy to a terrorist attack.
Ding-dong.
Speaking of, Eren’s response to Willy’s declaration isn’t exactly on the moral highground you’d appreciate from your protagonist, so that’s nice. His lunge is as horizontal as possible, but it would take authorial intervention to keep him from killing civilians when he goes after Willy.
The only way this doesn’t seem like a very bad idea is if Eren agrees with Willy’s decision.
...I want more of a warmup before looking at that too closely.
Elsewhere, Titans in pits.
Or not.
Zeke’s still the only one walking around free. Galliard and Pieck are out of whatever fight’s coming next.
None of that appears to be expected on the Marley side. It looks like they wanted their Warriors gathered when everyone went horribly wrong. Possibly to keep the level of wrongness to a minimum. How thoughtful.
It seems pretty fair to guess that Galliard and Pieck are the work of Eren’s friends, but Zeke and his fancy glasses that hide his eyeballs are a little harder to pin down. We get one shot of him, walking alone.
I’m willing to leave that for another month though, so to the other pit!
Falco being the Eren to Eren’s Reiner is painful. Here he had this thoughtful adult encouraging him all the way into committing treason. He was just being a good person, and Eren takes advantage of that.
And right after all of that hits, he gets to watch Mr. Braun self-destructing, and hears about dead friends and mothers.
Falco’s a good kid. Assuming that Reiner gets him out of this alive, he isn’t only going to take death and betrayals from this. He understands the toll of being a Warrior, and understands enough to hate that people are okay with Gabi selling her life to the role.
Eren looks right at him and says that the people inside the walls are the same as the people outside. I don’t know how well the doubt will stick, but if nothing else, I think there’s a good chance that Reiner won’t be able to keep up the lies about Paradis demons--to Falco, anyway.
Falco’s in this spot because he cares about people no one else sees. I don’t know how much of his path can be changed, given the decisions made this chapter, but I hope that the idea that everyone involved in this war is a person sticks with him.
Even though that will be infinitely more painful than just being a participant fighting off demons.
Oki doki, so.
Eren.
Eren has gone on a very educational journey of learning that people are people. Willy even helps him along by directly quoting something Eren says way back in Trost.
“Because... I was born into this world.”
They’ve all been born into this world, and they all want to live in it, freely.
Time to go attack that island!
Eren spends most of his time in the pit prying everything that went through Reiner’s head out of him. Not for the sake of condemning it. Just to hear the honest words of a man like him, who caused incredible pain in the name of saving the world.
Their whole talk is about their similar intentions and circumstances, and being understood. And finding forgiveness on a road that doesn’t deserve any.
“This whole time... it was painful for you, wasn’t it?”
“I think now... I understand that [...]
I was right. I’m... the same as you.”
So
Yeah, Eren brings down the house.
The final page is his hands extended in Titan form the same way Willy’s are when he makes his declaration.
Reciprocity. Yay.
There are a few concerning things here.
The murder’s pretty low on the list.
These would be the panels that earn Eren the kind of looks Reiner is the recipient of when he’s going through his identity trouble.
Eren, last seen back home speaking as his father and Eren Kruger, has supernaturally granted identity troubles, and not recalling death threats to the point of asking Reiner to ignore that they happened is... weird. Whether or not it means anything, who knows, but Eren’s general stability seems to be mimicking the style of someone who has recently done pot up to his magic handshake. There’s so much personal history involved that it makes sense that Eren’s the one mostly behind the wheel, but... yeah, I’ll stick with weird.
Adding to that is what he says during the magic handshake.
(the magic comes from friendship)
“I just keep moving forward. Until my enemies are destroyed.”
Once upon a time, Kruger explains to Grisha what the Attack Titan is all about.
“No matter the age, this Titan has always moved ahead, seeking freedom. It has fought on for freedom.”
Eren has altered the deal. Pray he doesn’t alter it any further.
No, but I’m not big on speculation. I like waiting to see what the next month brings instead. But I keep waiting for more on the individual Titans having sentience, and it’s hard not to wonder a little if Mr. Attack and Eren are experiencing some unnatural bleed-through.
I don’t know, some things just feel very odd.
Anyway, outside the tempting cracklands of detours, there’s a really uncomfortable prospect presented in this chapter that I would prefer being wrong about, but at the same time, hey, Eren’s causing destruction and murdering people, so clearly happy funtimes are over.
Eren smiles when Willy says he wants his audience to fight with him against Paradis. It is not full of happiness, exactly, but it is not the look you would expect from hearing that kind of statement. Some mix of acceptance and sadness, maybe?
There are a lot of people on Paradis who, if asked, would know the exact best moment to kill Willy that would encourage his message most efficiently.
Eren waits until Willy is done with his speech to kill him.
Willy’s just asked everyone he knows for helps against the island devils, and... Eren gives them one. Whatever destruction does or doesn’t follow, Willy’s message is heard in its entirety, and he’s killed by the enemy he asks for unity in facing.
If you want to limit his support, this is, by far, the worst way to do it.
So even though I can’t imagine why anyone would reach this conclusion, I have to wonder if Paradis agreed with Willy. If they agreed that a unified world could only come about through a common enemy and a martyr.
Thematically, I have all kinds of disagreements with that, but Eren couldn’t have fulfilled Willy’s plan any better if he’d been in the room listening to its design. At the end of a grand speech, a monster rushes out and kills the only one in the world brave enough to call all people to arms against this great threat.
It’s beautiful, and... very on the nose.
You could not pick a better time to attack.
...For Willy’s purposes.
Even if this wipes out a bunch of Marley military personnel, care has been taken to keep all of the Titans out of the way. The main force is secure and breathing. This is not an attack that will devastate; it will invigorate.
And I can’t shake the thought that someone on the Paradis side thought that that was the only hope the rest of the world’s Eldians had. And having said that... it’s hard not to wonder if that someone is Eren.
Staged martyrdom only works this smoothly if both sides have the script.
Or maybe Carla just raised Eren to believe that it’s rude to interrupt people.
I really don’t know how to feel about most of what happens here. This is another chapter that I’d like to think would be benefited by future ones.
Right now there’s just this ominous dread that makes it difficult to appreciate that I don’t have to read Willy talk anymore.
Nothing next month can’t fix, I’m sure.

Elise Cooper interviews Kristin Hannah
The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah will give the famous novel The Grapes of Wrath a run for its money. As with her other books, this one also portrays a woman who overcomes something in her life and turns out stronger in the end. It is a complex, intricate journey where the main protagonist comes into her own, overcoming the large number of obstacles thrown her way.
Set during the Dust Bowl, the Great Depression, and the mid-west migration to California the book emphasizes the crime of inhumanity to one’s fellow citizen. It shows how nature, literally and figuratively, can be so cruel. Elsa’s story really begins after meeting Rafe. She feels unwanted and unloved by her rich family and decides one night to go on the town in a red dress. Unfortunately, she mistakes his lust for love, becomes pregnant, and is disowned by her family. Rafe’s family takes her in and forces him to marry her. These new parents become the family she never really had. But hard times hit this farming family, and instead of stepping up to the plate, Rafe leaves them.
Now 1934, her youngest son Anthony has “dust pneumonia,” a then-common ailment of the Great Plains. Because of this, Elsa decides to leave her home in Lonesome Tree Texas and move to the fresh air of California. Ending up in the San Joaquin Valley, Elsa, her daughter, Loreda, and her son, trade one set of terrible circumstances for another. Work is scarce, and the locals are prejudiced against “Okies,” as migrants were known regardless of where they are from. The family settles into a camp riddled with filth on the banks of an irrigation ditch. Eventually they end up in the town of Welty, named after the owner of a large farm. She meets Jack, an idealist union organizer who wants the migrants to unite for better wages and working conditions. Falling in love with him, Elsa becomes the migrants’ spokesperson, understanding that she has a voice of power.
This novel will tear at the reader’s heart strings. Whether the scenes during the Dust Bowl, the struggle to survive the Depression, or the challenges the migrant workers faced, people will take a journey with this compelling family. The story is about motherhood, resilience, and the strength of the human spirit. Once again Hannah has hit a home run.
Elise Cooper: Were you influenced by the Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck?
Kristin Hannah: Obviously I read it and loved the story. I would not say it particularly influenced me except to open me up to that era and experience. I looked at the Dust Bowl, the Depression, and the Mid-West migration to California through a woman’s eyes. As with Steinbeck’s story so much of what we know about that era is that women many times were not in the picture.
EC: Your books focus on a women’s perspective?
KH: I have been on this journey ever since my books Winter Garden and Home Front. I like telling stories that we think we know and eras we think we know but from the female outlook. So often, what is learned about in history is from the male perspective with women stories lost, marginalized, and deemed less important. I wanted to show how important women are and put in this book quote by Elsa, “It was always about the men. They seem to think it meant nothing to cook and clean and bear children. But we worked from sunup to sundown too, toiled on wheat farms…we came to find a better life, to feed our children. We aren’t lazy or shiftless. We don’t want to live the way we do.”
EC: What about this particular novel?
KH: As I traveled around talking to readers about the book, Nightingale, that dealt with the French resistance during WWII, I began to understand how much that book meant to people and the powerful emotions it invoked. Maybe because it is the story that we should have known all along, but many of us didn’t. I wanted to show female courage, heroism, and bravery in the face of difficult and dangerous odds. As time went on, I knew I wanted to write a novel that was just as powerful, emotional, and as important that was an American story. I wanted to look at our own history and country. For whatever reason it led me to the Dust Bowl, the Great Depression, and the migration to the west. Women throughout history have done a lot of amazing stuff.
EC: Readers can see a lot of comparisons to today, especially with a quote in the prologue?
KH: You must be referring to this one, “My American dream was turned into a nightmare by poverty and hardship and greed. These past few years have been a time of things lost: Jobs. Homes. Food.” I started this book four years ago and had no idea that it would turn out as relevant for today. There is this sense of being a time lost. I think there is a very strong correlation to be made now. I think history can teach us something. It’s a good reminder now. After reading a story like this, people can relate to how the human spirit has strength and durability with the power of family. Looking back, it’s important to recall that we have been through hard times before in America and not only survived but thrived. If we pull together and look towards the future, we can thrive again. The message of America is to be brave, have courage without fear, and to be a survivor. I think it has been this way for all of our history.
EC: There is also a message about divisiveness?
KH: I am certainly well aware how it is in our country now. For me, it helps to look at the history, what it was like in the 30s, late 60s, and 70s. These were all times of great change in America, which does not come easily when we focus on what divides us instead of what unites us. It is important in history to see how some things continually repeat. We should listen to the past and learn from it. There is a discussion in the book where Elsa faces discrimination, being called “your kind.” Elsa responds, “Our kind are hardworking Americans who have hit hard times, which meant poverty, no jobs, and nowhere to turn.” After arriving in California people would not rent to her because anyone from Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas were looked down upon. Nothing is really that simple, cut and dry. It was the depression and people were flooding into California who did not have jobs, money, or a place to live.
EC: The antagonist, Walty, is pure evil?
KH: He is the villain of the novel. He represents big industry that cares more about profits than workers. Ultimately, he never saw how important those workers were to him and to his economic future.
EC: In the movie “Oklahoma” there is a song where a line is relevant to your story: “I don't say I'm no better than anybody else, But I'll be damned if I ain't jist as good!” Farmers versus city folk?
KH: I mostly focused on the idea of how people label other as “the other.” People who live in the city don’t understand the farmers’ plight, which can be seen throughout the novel. The whole book is about farmers, people who make their living from the land. They are at the hands of mother nature. As they feed the whole world, they struggle through difficult times.
EC: Women characters are the essence of your story? Let’s begin by talking about Rose, her mother-in-law.
KH: She represents the idealization of the farm wife who can do it all, working from sunup to sundown. She believes in her land and family, focusing on who she is feeding and loving. She is always there for her family in a pinch.
EC: What about Elsa?
KH: After writing 24 novels, Elsa is my favorite character ever. In the beginning she was an outsider and lonely. She had a journey from an insecure woman who believed she had no self-worth and will never be loved, to gaining enough strength to be a warrior. She finds her independent and powerful voice to help others. For me, this was so moving. No matter how many times she was knocked down she got back up and tried again.
EC: How did her early upbringing affect her personality including having rheumatic fever?
KH: Her illness was the reason her family clipped her wings, keeping her expectations low. She had to let go of it. She never defined herself from her illness. Elsa says in the beginning of the book her real problem was not her illness, but that her family found her lacking because she was not pretty enough. In the end, she decided to take risks to improve her life, instead of sitting back and letting it happen.
EC: What about the daughter, Loreda?
KH: She represented the next generation who saw the world as a different place. In the beginning of the story, she was an ordinary, spoiled adolescent girl going through a difficult time. She was a romantic idealist who was very passionate. I would compare her to the Isabelle character from The Nightingale in the sense it is easier to take big risks when not responsible for anyone else’s life.
EC: What about Elsa’s husband, Rafe, versus her lover, Jack?
KH: After meeting her future husband Rafe it seemed like the worst thing that could happen to Elsa, but it was actually the best thing that happened to her. She became a wife, a mother, and part of a loving family. Her love for Rafe was defined by a lack of love for herself. He was a weak man and a dreamer at a point when the world had no place for someone without the strength to stand up.
Jack became the great love of Elsa’s life. He showed her the power of passion, both physically and ideologically. He helped her to unlock something within herself. With his unfettered idealism he looked through a lens of what he wanted the world to be and lost focus on how dangerous the real world was. Elsa knew this from the moment she chose to be with Jack.
EC: It is a story of motherhood?
KH: Yes, how women find themselves and stand up for each other during really hard times. The strength from Rose allowed Elsa to become the woman she became. Elsa and then Loreda went through what we all go through, leaving behind girlhood and discovering who they were as people. I love this line in the story, “You are the daughter I always wanted. Elsa replied And you are my mother. You saved me.”
EC: The quotes at the beginning of each section?
KH: I chose Wendell Berry because he was a poet I happen to love. He writes about nature and the land, so I thought the quote chosen was a good connection to the Dust Bowl section. The FDR quote was chosen because of what he did during the Great Depression, trying to pull the country together. Cesar Chavez’s quote was perfect about workers in California.
EC: What about your next projects?
KH: The Nightingale might come out on the big screen but is due out in December 2021. Firefly Lane will be out on Netflix on February 3rd. I am very happy with the production of both. The cast of both are wonderful. I did read the scripts and talked to the producers throughout. I love seeing these big women stories on screen.
THANK YOU!!

hi all kellen back again w my lil softie, percy. as always, more about him is under the cut and like this or shoot me a msg to plot !!
Is that [DOUGLAS BOOTH]? No, that’s just [PERCY STANTON] the [25] year old [SCREENWRITER]. In Olympus [HE] was actually [PARIS OF TROY] but they have [SOME] recollection of that.
okie this is gna be bullet points bc im lazy and most of u at least know a lil bit about him
percy was born in the heart of london, england to two parents who didn’t actually want to be parents
his mother, eliza copley, was a socialite and a lawyer for stanton & grey, percy’s father’s (richard stanton) inherited law firm (which is one of the most prestigious in england)
their affair was a quick one after a night of drinking, but of course, it ended up in pregnancy
once eliza learned she was pregnant, her and richard quickly married because they came from the type of world where the image would be tarnished if they weren’t married
eliza & richard didn’t hate each other, but they were like oil and water
along with that fact, they both had busy schedules and not much time to care for a kid
in turn, percy was raised by a nanny by the name of lilia who basically became his mother
even with the mother figure in his life, he vied for the attention of his parents
nothing seemed to be good enough for eliza & richard when they paid attention (which was rare) and most times they just supplied money for percy to spend, thinking that an endless supply of things he wanted would make him happy
along w being absent parents, eliza & richard also fought like cats and dogs. their big estate just outside of london didn’t seem to be big enough as yelling from across the mansion was a common thing
but, even after everything, they wouldn’t get divorced and tarnish their image, so they just stuck to their unhappy marriage
to outsiders, the stanton family was golden but once you looked too close you saw all the cracks and scratches
to cope, percy began writing. he used it as an escape to make new worlds where a mother was never absent and a father was never harsh
he was actually quite good at it, and even excelled in his other classes
his father, although absent, wanted him to be a lawyer (ofc, bc the whole big thing in his fam is being a lawyer)
percy was like nah fam and because his parents were actually shitty, they didn’t care much that he wanted to be a screenwriter bc they didn’t care much in general
so, off to LA he goes after going to the new york film academy and graduating from there
he started off doing some small jobs but now is working his way up
or, was
DEATH TW!!!!
so basically the whole story of when i dropped him as a char for a bit is that his mom got diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and he went back to london to help sort everything out
well, she ended up passing away and although percy was never close to his mother and she seemed very distant, he still loved her ofc and is very torn up
so basically he’s gonna be rly emo
as for personality when he’s not emo, percy is a lil softie
he’s very charismatic and charming but he can be forgiving....well too forgiving
he likes to think people are good at heart and have the best intentions but in reality, some ppl just don’ti
THAT IS ALL I HAVE EVEN THO THAT WAS A LOT

yes please make a tut on your gdragon lyrics gifset!!!!!!
hahahhaha okie dokie nonny, tutorial for this edit under the cut ;)
What you’ll be needing:+ This cute pixel sparkle gif whose owner’s identity is a mystery. Please tell me if you do so I can properly credit!+ Basic giffing knowledge (timeline + frame ani)+ 20 min. of your time
I’ve actually already deleted the psd and the gifs so I’ll try my best to recreate everything but yeah, there’s definitely gonna be a slight difference if I know myself ahahahha.
STEP 1: I wanted 4 gifs at 540px width and 150px height. However to achieve the look I was going for, the consistent, smooth gradient and the overlapping sparkles, I had to place it all in one canvas sooo that’s 150px * 4
STEP 2: Pick up the gradient tool and choose two colors you want to go with. I was actually really going through google images of the vaporwave aesthetic today, so you can say I copied my color choice off of that, haha. I chose #ffa3fa (pink) for my first colour, swapped the swatch and chose #af90cc for the second color
STEP 3: Select the linear type of gradient (pictured below as the selected option) and lay it out on your canvas. I’m going to assume you know how so I won’t elaborate on that :))
STEP 4: Next is the fun part, at least, it’s fun for me cause it’s actually the trick to getting that smooth transition through 4 different gifs. Get your slice tool (pictured below)
and drag it all over your canvas like so
STEP 5: Now right click anywhere on the image and look for ‘Divide Slice’ (pictured below)
When you’ve clicked on it, you’re going to see two options. ‘Divide Horizontally Into’ and ‘Divide Vertically Into’. For the purposes of this tutorial, we’re going to tick the horizontal option. Since we want 4 gifs, input that in the box. It’s going to look like this
STEP 5: It’s time to lay on the text! I clicked on my text tool and picked the font ‘Arial’ with these settings (don’t forget to set the text color to white!)
Apply a simple stroke to our text layer with these settings
STEP 6: Some people like to create a box for their text but I’m too lazy for that so I just set the text tool on the image directly. To ensure our text is centered on it’s little ‘slice’, grab your rectangular marquee tool and select the area of the first slice box.
Now let’s switch to the move tool and take a look at these things on top. I have no idea if this is common knowledge, but it’s really simple anyway so I’ll just speed through it
From left to right, the first option aligns the layer/object at the very top of the selection. The one in the first red circle aligns at its vertical center, and the one after that aligns it with the very bottom. After that, you can probably guess that the next one aligns the layer to the very left, the one in the circle at the horizontal center and the last one to the very right. We want the two red circles, of course, and this is often the case. Click on those two and watch your text bend according to the move tool’s will, lololol.
STEP 7: It’s now time to warp our text! Switch to your text tool again and click on the warp tool I marked with a red circle (pictured below)
This window will pop up
Bend at +50 is a bit much so I adjusted it to +16. Watch the text…warp…lololol.
STEP 8: Now duplicate your text layer by hitting ctrl+j on your keyboard, or do it by mouse right click whatever :)) Make sure the duplicated layer, probably named “______ copy” sits under the original layer, so drag it downwards
Do that two more times so you have “I need somebody copy 2″ and “I need somebody copy 3″. Put them all under the original text layer.
STEP 9: Get your move tool again and click on the “I need somebody copy″ layer and press your down arrow key 3 times–or personal preference really. Now click on your “I need somebody copy 2″ and your down arrow key 6 times–or personal preference again. Now you’ve achieved the look of two of the gifs in the set!!
To get the look of the top and bottom ones, select your “I need somebody copy 3″ layer and tap on the up arrow key 3 times–or personal preference, you know the drill. If you don’t want that blurred, optical illusion looking effect, you can just delete that layer and move on lmao.
Here’s a summary, I renamed all the layers according to what you need to do to that layer to get the effect
Now just do that 3 more times from Step 5 to 9 to fill the 3 boxes left. If you’re lazy like me, you’ll find out a way to make it go faster hahah (hint: duplicate and just retype the text layers, then center)
For the last one that says ‘any goddamn body’ I actually made the text a bit smaller so it doesn’t mess with the symmetry. About size 16 I think. Here’s what you should have after all that:
STEP 10: Let’s step away from this for now and open our sparkle gif. Switch to timeline mode by clicking the option inside the red circle below.
Select all the layers of the gif once in timeline mode and right click, convert to smart object.
STEP 11: We’re almost done!!! Switch back to the graphic’s window and open your timeline. “Create a video timeline” for this graphic so we can place the sparkles on it! Once that’s done, drag the sparkle layer onto the graphic like so
As you can see, I literally dragged the ‘converted smart object layer’ of the pixel sparkles onto the graphic. Sketchy, but it works lololol.
STEP 12: You’re going to see that this sparkle layer is actually pretty big. It can already fit the first two boxes. Having said that, you only need to duplicate sparkle layer again and move it to cover the bottom two boxes, and we’re nearly done!!! omg yaaay
STEP 13: Last step yaaaay!!! Don’t forget to trim the gif only up to the duration of the sparkles!!
Time to save it! You’ll notice the gif has slices itself, just save it normally and photoshop will do the work of saving them as 4 separate gifs for you. Don’t forget to set the looping option to forever!!
okie that’s it!!! we’re good. Congratulations for finishing my amateur tutorial lmao *shakes your virtual hand*
if anything’s unclear, drop me an ask!! I hope I was able to do an ok tutorial ikasjdijasidjiasd thank you for your interest (i feel like a sales person)
#tutorial#Anonymous#ask#I hope I was clear asijdiasjdijasdiasjdiajsidiasdjiajidjiasjd gentle reminder that english is not my first language hahaha#time to sleep i had way too much fun doing this
