The time is running out and the travel fares are peaking now. There is estimated 38% increase in fuel costs compared to 2010 Thanksgiving. There will be estimated 2 percent drop in the number of travelers taking to the skies this Thanksgiving holiday period as a result of slower economy and low consumer confidence. The airlines consolidation and mergers happened (Delta merged with North West Airlines) more than ever and that is causing less competition and more ticket prices. The year ago compared prices are hard to match 2011 holiday ticket prices. Watch out but there are still some avenues to look for the last minute deals that airlines wants to leave no seat go vacant during the rush holiday season and may take a cut in the ticket price.
