I’ve just had the idea it would be hilarious if Sokka randomly asks about a bald spot on Zuko’s head. And he’s like yeah that’s where my helmet cut me when you tried to kill me with a boomerang. And things ensue from there.
I’ve probably read it in a fic before but the idea is just so funny to me with liab, I would rather die than hurt you, Sokka.
I also think it’s funny how liab Sokka jabbed Zuko off his own ship into freezing polar waters lol. (Canon events haha) It’s really weird to think back on how much they despised each other before becoming prison pals lol.
liab sokka would probably deny those events ever happened. Knocked zuko from where into what? On a ship together??? Nahhh never. Not his fire bender <3
thanks for the ask anon <3

Greenery passed by in a blur as you looked out the window of the train. It was your first trip outside the city, but more importantly, it was your first trip with your boyfriend. You were nearing a year since the two of you started dating, this being your first long-term relationship. Things were getting pretty serious, you could say, considering he invited you on a week-long overnight trip with him and his other friends. When you first met them, you thought they might not like you because you tended to keep to yourself. You weren’t exactly a social butterfly, and your whole life had been quiet and uneventful. They were a rowdy bunch, the boys, full of energy and chaos — the exact opposite of who you were.Up until this point, no one really bothered you or asked you what you were doing, but you didn’t mind. In fact, you preferred it that way. But these boys gave you a reason to try new things and branch out of your comfort zone. Sure, sometimes it was awkward and uncomfortable, but that was the fun of it.
“Hey,” Chan’s voice filled the small cabin you were in. “Sorry that took so long, the guys kept bugging me to get them stuff. Something about how I’m the youngest and I need to practice taking care of them for when they’re old or whatever.”
You giggled and shook your head. He sat down across from you and pulled out some snacks.
“Hungry?”
“Maybe just a little,” you replied. Grabbing some fruit snacks from his hand, you plopped them into your mouth, smiling at him happily.
“How are you feeling?”
“Not too bad.”
“You’re not motion sick are you?” His face wrinkled with concern at the sudden realization.
“You’re lucky I’m not,” you laughed.
“Oh, thank goodness,” he responded, placing his hand over his heart. “I’d have to take care of you if you were.”
For some reason, hearing these words come from his mouth made your body burn like a thousand suns. To top it all off, he winked at you like the cheeky boy he was. You weren’t used to this at all; prior to Chan, few people bothered to look at you, much less wink at you. It made you melt internally, though you weren’t sure if it was a good kind of melt, or a please-don't-ever-perceive-me-ever-again kind of melt. But he found it funny. In fact, he loved messing with you. There was something endearing about the way you scrunched your nose whenever he said something to make you feel shy. Whatever it was, he absolutely loved it.
“Stop,” you whined in a hushed tone.
“Never,” he proclaimed. He leaned forward so your faces were mere centimeters apart. “I do it because I think you’re cute.”
Fire raged through your body and you wanted to hide, but being inside a moving train, there was no place you could go. You pushed him away from you, opting to stare out the window instead. Chan just chuckled with satisfaction, taking your hand to squeeze it before leaning back against the upholstered seat. You chatted with your boyfriend for a while; he told you about how Soonyoung had gone overboard and ordered champagne for a three hour trip and now Seungkwan was probably dealing with the mess since Jeonghan and Seungcheol were too lazy to.
“One bottle isn’t too bad, right?” you asked.
“He gets drunk after a couple of sips of makgeolli,” Chan replied.
“Is he sharing it with the others?”
“Oh, did I not mention that he already drank half of it by himself?”
You both buckled over with laughter at the idea of Soonyoung wreaking havoc and Seungkwan panicking about what to do, but trying to come off cool, calm, and collected about it all.
Before you knew it, a comfortable silence fell over you. You decided to read a book, though with all the movement of the car on the rails, it was hard for you to keep your eyes focused. You looked up from your book to see your boyfriend fast asleep. His head bobbed with the train, failing to find support. It was hard to contain your giggles as you watched him, his mouth agape with drool dribbling down the side.
This was your chance. You pulled out your phone and opened the camera. When your hands were steady enough, your finger pressed down on the shutter button. To your horror, you didn’t realize the flash was on until the light on the backside of your phone was shining brightly on Chan’s face. His eyes burst open, though he was discombobulated from his nap. You opened the camera roll and looked at the photo, laughter pouring out of your mouth as Chan came to his senses. It was better than anything you could have ever imagined — the light perfectly emphasized the glistening drool on his face, and the lighting made his skin look horrifically pale in the most amusing way. It was perfect.
“Did you take a photo of me?” he asked, though he knew the answer the moment you began to giggle.
“No,” you lied.
“You did. Let me see.”
“I didn’t!”
Chan quickly shifted to the other seat so he was next to you. “Let me see!”
He tried to snatch it, but you were faster. “You look cute! I promise.”
“Delete it,” he whined. His ears turned red from embarrassment. He always had a chic demeanor, and you found him incredibly attractive for it, but this side of him was something new, something you would cherish for the rest of your days.
“No, it’s cute!”
Another attempt to grab your phone from you ended when he slipped and somehow your back found the seat. You could feel his small breaths as he hovered over you, your noses barely touching.
A voice boomed from the door. “Chan, can I borrow your—”
“Oh,” said a second voice.
“What’s going on… oh. Oh!” added a third.
You looked to the door to find Joshua, Jeonghan, and Jun staring at the two of you in your provocative position.
“I didn’t realize you guys were into this kind of stuff,” Jeonghan said with a smirk.
“Very bold of you,” Joshua added.
“Wait, guys. It’s not—” Chan tried to interject.
“What it looks like?” Jun put the words right in his mouth.
Never had you wanted to crawl into a hole and never be seen again. It was hard to miss the mischievous glint in all three boys’ eyes as their gaze went back and forth between you and Chan.
“Sorry, we didn’t mean to interrupt you guys,” Joshua continued.
“Wait, it’s really not what it looks like,” you tried to tell them, but your voice proved to be too timid because Jun was already running down the hall of the train and telling Seungkwan and Seungcheol what happened.
“Well, we better give you your privacy,” Jeonghan said. He put his arm around Joshua, guiding him out of your cabin to give you that privacy.
“They’re never going to let us live that down, are they?” you asked.
“No,” Chan responded, immediately bursting into small fits of giggles. “But we can worry about that when the time comes.”
