I had the most excruciating stomach pain and thought I was dying and was rocking back and worth in the bed. I broke out in sweats. I was screaming. It felt like I was getting stabbed in the stomach repeatedly.

After I took some Tums and Gas X, I went into the livingroom so it would be easier for my family to find my corpse. I welcomed death. Then I scream/burped so violently and I woke up my grandma. Then I continued to burp some more. I burped about 8 times.

Anyway, I feel much better and am thankful I don't live in the 16th century. They would've probably tried to exercise a demon in me, blood let, then burn me for being possessed by a demon that made me scream in pain for hours.

I am thankful for modern science

Hey. Your brain needs to de-frag. Literally it needs you to sit there and space out.

If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff.

Literally this will make you smarter. Our brains HAVE TO HAVE this zone out time to do important stuff behind the scenes. This does not happen during sleep, it's something else.

That weird pressurized feeling you get sometimes might be your brain on no defrag.

Do you ever sing to the frogs when you're out in the field?

My mom & I moved to the TX coast from the high (& very, very dry) plains and there's so many frogs here! They like to hide from the sun under our porch and sing all evening, they go CHEEP TRRREEP, PEEP PREEEP. Sometimes I'll mimic them and we cheep at each other for an hour, and I think of tumblr's resident Frog Man every time.

So, maybe Danny should have been more specific when he said he wanted to get reincarnated, because this? Is not an ideal situation. 

See he’s fine with being a clone, really, but uh, apparently the scientists want to terminate him- which, like dude, he’s not even melting or actively dying! So what if he failed at their tests, his body is three, give him a break! 

Well, at least it’s given him certainty in getting out, because these are Not good people. He wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and- hold up, another clone? Brother? Two brothers? One aged up, one in the middle of it- since his own aging-up failed past three? 

Oh hell no, they can’t experiment on his brothers, those are his brothers and living people just as much as he is! Time to break out- and he’s taking those papers thank you- and gonna’ grab his… he’s gonna’ call them his triplets because they’re the same age, just aged differently. 

Now hold his hand, they’re runnin’ to the mountai- oh thank fuck, the physically-oldest of them can fly. To the mountains while they have the cover of night and they can figure things out. At least his life isn’t boring yet…

hi, i work at the sanger institute, helping make reference genomes across the whole tree of life! the stated purpose of this is to help conservation efforts by improving our knowledge of the biology (especially for under-loved things like wee moths!). i keep seeing our genomes pop up in your posts, and now i understand they have a bigger purpose - to help a tumblr gimmick blog make silly posts. so i’m going to continue making genomes with a renewed fervour.

ps perhaps part of the reason you get so many moth results is that moth genomes are really easy to assemble, so we’ve done an awful lot of them…
