Viral stars Big Shaq, Hurt Bae, Backpack Kid, Niana, and Tatiana Subbotina also featured, alongside celebrities including Stephen Colbert, Les Twins, Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Ozuna. International YouTubers who featured last year included Lilly Singh, Philip DeFranco, Casey Neistat, Ethan and Grayson Dolan, and Liza Koshy. UK creators featured last year included Dan Howell, Phil Lester, Emma Blackery, Caspar Lee, Joe Sugg, SORTEDfood, Saffron Barker, Daniel ‘TDM’ Middleton, Olajide ‘KSI’ Olatunji, Tom Ridgewell, Connie Glynn, Oli White, and Josh Pieters. In 2017, YouTube Rewind: The Shape of 2017 featured 300 creators and celebrities from nearly 20 countries. Other trends thought to be included this year include Baby Shark and dabbing, according to the official YouTube Rewind Instagram. The teaser shows a Fortnite Battle Bus and giant tin foil ball among other references. “It’s almost time to hit Rewind”, the teaser description on YouTube reads. YouTubers already confirmed for the 2018 video include Caspar Lee, Elle Mills, Emma Chamberlain, Liza Koshy, Merrell Twins, The Try Guys, Rosanna Pansino, LaurDIY, Gabbie Hanna, Nikkie Tutorials, Molly Burke, Marques Brownlee, Lachlan, ASAP Science, Luzugames and Collins Key. It will feature references to videos, people, music and moments that were popular on the platform in the year. The eighth YouTube Rewind video will debut on Thursday 6 December at 6pm GMT. YouTube has shared a teaser video ahead of the release of YouTube Rewind 2018, its annual year in review. YouTube Rewind 2018 will be released on Thursday 6 December.

VidCon US will be holding its 10th annual event from 10-13 July in Anaheim, California, and will feature meet and greets, concerts, panels, an expo hall with booths and activities, and much more. Numerous online creators have already been announced as attending the event, including many UK YouTubers. Those attending thus far include Charlie McDonnell, Sean McLoughlin, Phil Lester, Daniel Howell, LDShadowLady, Joel SmallishBeans and Saffron Barker. This year’s VidCon will see the filming of the new original series, VidCon Now, with Dan and Phil being the first Featured Creators to take part. The series, which will be filmed throughout the duration of the event, will be uploaded across VidCon’s social channels, including Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram. Organisers have also announced the extension of the 2019 Meet & Greet Lottery, meaning those wishing to enter for a chance to meet their favourite creators can send in their submissions until 9 June. Winners will receive their confirmations, as well as instructions, on 14 June. Dan & Phil will be hosting a Meet & Greet at #VidConUS and the Meet & Greet Lottery has been extended until Sunday, 6/9! If you already entered, you can modify your selections now to include them in your top 15. The lottery results will be made available on Friday, 6/14. Those wishing to attend VidCon 2019 can choose from three different tracks: Community, Creator and Industry. Details regarding each track, as well as ticket information, can be found via the event’s official website.
