CE JOUR OÙ… 6IX9INE S’EST FAIT DÉCOUVRIR PAR UN LABEL SLOVAQUE

Retour sur ce jour où faute de pouvoir passer par la porte, Daniel Hernandez est passé par la fenêtre...

6ix9ine est-il en passe de réussir son comeback ? S’il est encore un peu tôt pour répondre de manière définitive, le simple fait que ces dernières semaines il fasse mentir à répétition tous ceux qui prédisaient la fin de sa carrière suite à son grand déballage devant les tribunaux un an plus tôt relève déjà de l’exploit.

Porte-étendard d’une génération biberonnée à l’internet n’en ayant absolument rien à carrer des codes du rap d’antan, plus encore que son look, sa musique ou ses dérapages, ce qui caractérise le plus son personnage c’est très certainement sa capacité à s’aventurer sur des terrains où jamais personne n’avait osé s’aventurer avant lui, et ce depuis le départ.

Depuis ce jour de 2014 où, aspirant rappeur comme il en existe à tous les coins de rue à New-York, il a effectué un détour de près de 7 000 kilomètres pour atteindre les sommets.

Direction Bratislava

Bien avant d’affoler compteurs de vues et de tenir les médias en haleine au moindre post sur les réseaux sociaux, Tekashi69, 18 ans à peine, subvient à ses besoins en bossant comme caissier dans un restaurant Stay Fresh Grill & Deli, tandis qu’il refourgue des sachets d’herbe et d’héroïne pour arrondir ses fins de mois.

Pas forcément emballé par les perspectives de cette vie-là, à ses heures perdues il télécharge ses sons sur Youtube.

Si les scores sont à l’époque confidentiels, une chose l'intrigue lorsqu’il examine les chiffres : bon nombre de ceux qui cliquent sont originaires de Slovaquie, un petit pays d’Europe centrale peuplé d'à peine plus de 5 millions d’habitants.

Après enquête, il s’avère qu’un certain Dalyb, un rappeur membre du groupe local Haha Crew, partage ses liens sur sa page Facebook.

Ni une, ni deux, 6ix9ine demande sur Instagram à ses fans s’ils connaissent « des rappeurs slovaques avec qui il pourrait faire de la musique ? », ce à quoi ces derniers lui répondent majoritairement en mentionnant ledit Haha Crew.

Précurseur de ce que les slovaques appellent la « New Wave » (un synonyme du rap Souncloud), le groupe est aussi critiqué qu’acclamé depuis leur hit Rap & Móda qui en 2013 faisait sur un ton proche de la parodie l’apologie des marques de luxe dans un pays qui traditionnellement porte aux nues le rap east coast des années 90.

Mis au parfum des velléités du newyorkais, Michal Novotný alias Yaksha, le fondateur du label F*CK THEM sur lequel ils sont signés, s’empresse alors de lui envoyer un DM pour lui proposer un duo.

De là nait en décembre 2014 Rollin Stones, un morceau enregistré par correspondance présent sur Vlna, le premier album du Haha Crew, où 6ix9ine peut être entendu en intro hurler à pleins poumons « Slovakia! What’s good! We out here! » et qui se conclut par des « Tekashi je so mnou » (« Tekashi est avec moi ») du groupe.

[Accessoirement, Rollin Stones est également la première fois que Tekashi référence le Scumgang, « Scum » étant ici l’acronyme de « Society Can’t Understand Me ».]

« From Europe Back to America »

Cette belle histoire manque toutefois de finir aussi vite qu’elle a commencé quand lorsqu’en février 2015, 6ix9ine est accusé d’agression sexuelle sur mineure après avoir été filmé en train de simuler une pénétration et de mettre des claques sur les fesses d’une fille de 13 ans.

Arrêté dans la foulée, il plaide sa cause auprès de Yaksha qui lui accorde le bénéfice du doute.

« Quand je lui ai demandé ce qu’il en était, il m’a soutenu ne pas avoir eu de rapport sexuel avec cette fille, qu’il s’agissait juste d’une vidéo dans laquelle elle portait un soutien-gorge. »

La relation entre le label et le rappeur prend ensuite une nouvelle tournure quand en 2016 Yaksha se rend aux États-Unis pour visiter la Grosse Pomme.

« Daniel m’envoyait des messages tous les jours pour qu'on se rencontre. J’ai donc fini par prendre la ligne L direction Bushwick, son quartier. »

Une fois sur place, Hernandez qui l’attendait à la sortie de la station de métro l’emmène manger du poulet frit, avant de lui lâcher tout de go qu’il compte devenir « le plus gros artiste de la ville ».

69 & Yaksha

De prime abord plutôt sceptique face à ce genre de fanfaronnade, et ce, d’autant plus qu’à cet instant T il compte plus d’abonnés sur Instagram que l’autoproclamé futur roi de New-York, le patron de F*CK THEM finit néanmoins par se laisser convaincre par son enthousiasme.

De là, les deux hommes élaborent un plan marketing de conquête du monde intitulé From Europe Back to America.

Le concept ? Populariser 69 en Europe centrale, générer des fonds en donnant des concerts, puis se servir de ce capital pour percer au pays de l’Oncle Sam.

Et tant pis si le rappeur arc-en-ciel a besoin de demander la permission pour sortir du territoire en raison d’une précédente condamnation pour trafic de stupéfiant, Yaksha se charge d’écrire une lettre à son officier de parole pour plaider sa cause.

C’est ainsi que dans les mois qui suivent, 6ix9ine, qui auparavant n’avait jamais quitté New-York, est vu une toute première sur une scène praguoise aux côtes du rappeur russe Pharaoh avant partir à la rencontre du public slovaque.

De nouveau, « Danny » comme il est désormais appelé dans les couloirs du label joue la carte du featuring aux côtés de pitchounets du cru (Dalyb, Zayo et Lvcas Dope pour les connaisseurs) avec le morceau Jaguare.

Le monde chico

En 2017, F*CK THEM passe à la vitesse supérieure en prenant en charge la promotion des clips de Tekashi en les diffusant directement sur sa propre chaîne Youtube et sur un compte VK (le Facebook russe) créé pour l’occasion.

Ou pour citer William Asher qui a coréalisé bon nombre d'entre eux (Keke, Kooda, Fefe...) : « Nous téléchargions tout sur leur chaîne afin de bâtir sa base fan sur place. C’est vraiment à partir de là qu’il a commencé à devenir ce qu’il allait devenir. »

Ainsi s’explique pourquoi deux des plus gros hits de sa carrière que son Poles1469 (son duo avec l’ancien poto Trippie Red) et l’incontournable GUMMO, respectivement plus de 169 et 372 millions de vues au moment où sont écrites ces ligne, sont répertoriés sur la chaîne Youtube d’un obscur label indé d’Europe centrale et non sur sa chaîne Youtube officielle.

Reste que malgré cette célébrité nouvelle qui lui ouvre grand les portes du marché mondial, 6ix9ine continue de marcher main dans la main avec F*CK THEM avec qui il organise en 2018 le World Domination Tour qui passe par 13 villes d’Europe (Londres, Amsterdam, Lièges...).

Filmé au même moment, un documentaire en trois parties du même nom est diffusé quelques semaines plus tard.

Intéressant à plus d’un titre, il offre plusieurs séquences mémorables pour qui s’intéresse de près à 6ix9ine, qu’il s’agisse de cette scène où Yaksha tente vainement de le dissuader de se tatouer le visage uniquement pour le buzz ou toutes celles où le tristement célèbre Kifano ‘Shotti’ Jordan (l’homme qui l’a introduit entretemps à la culture de gang) est aperçu en arrière-plan.

Retour aux US et dégringolade

La suite malheureusement tout le monde la connaît.

Décrit par ceux qui le fréquentaient à cette période comme quelqu’un « de discret, de poli et de respectueux », 6ix9ine se laisse progressivement happer par son personnage public.

« Quand il a commencé à faire beaucoup d’argent et à poster des photos de lui avec des liasses je lui ai suggéré de se calmer. J’ai essayé de lui faire comprendre que les gens l’aimaient pour son mélange d’humilité et de talent, qu’il s’était transformé en un rappeur lambda » raconte Yaksha.

« Je pense que cela venait de ces nouvelles personnes qui gravitaient autour de lui en raison de son succès parce qu’en Europe il se comportait de manière différente. Clairement nous avions une influence positive sur lui. »

Guère fan de Shotti et de ses goons, Yaksha admet volontiers que son ancien poulain s’est toutefois pris les pieds dans le tapis tout seul.

« Sa plus grosse erreur était de vouloir plaire aux mecs du gang. Il aimait attirer l’attention de ces types qui vendaient de l’héroïne et marchaient avec des flingues. Sauf qu’à trop jouer au troll, il a fini en prison. »

Bien que Yaksha et 6ix9ine se soient vus face-à-face la toute dernière fois à l’automne 2018 lors d’un concert à Vienne, quelques jours seulement avant que le Dummy Boy ne soit envoyé en cellule pour association de malfaiteurs, extorsion, trafic de drogue et port d’armes, les deux hommes s’entendent toujours bien si l’on en croit les réseaux sociaux de F*CK THEM.

Régulièrement promu sur le compte Instagram du label depuis sa libération, le rappeur fera en sus faire l’objet d’un documentaire dédié qui devrait sortir prochainement.

They spend 4 tireless days searching for someone who couldn't possibly stand out more, in their own city no less, and they fail. When they finally do catch him, it's two niggas hopping out of a beater to lose to a crew of what, 6? At the airport right before departure?? And niggas didn't look too expert level out there either. Tekashi 6ix9ine Is BACK & Making Everyone BIG MAD, Including Billboard & Snoop Dogg! + Gets Help From Known Clout Chaser Celina Powell

Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is causing controversy on social media just like he used to do before he was released from prison on racketeering charges last month. He was released on April 2nd and kept a pretty low profile on social media…until now.

On Monday, Billboard released the Hot 100 chart and Tekashi’s new single “GOOBA” debuted at the No. 3 spot, falling behind Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber’s new “Stuck With U,” which nabbed the No. 1 spot. Doja Cat’s “Say So Remix” featuring Nicki Minaj fell to No. 2.

Now, the “FEFE” rapper is taking aim at Billboard, calling them a fraud.

”You can buy No. 1’s on Billboard,” Tekashi said in an IG Video posted to his official account.

The 23-year-old rapper claims he and his crew have an “ongoing investigation” and they found out that Ariana supposedly purchased thousands of units with “six credit cards.” Well, it certainly wouldn't be the first time an artist did that.

”Explain how you buy 30,000 [units] with six credit cards,” he said in the video.

"@billboard CAUGHT CHEATING. @billboard YOU’RE A LIE AND CORRUPT. YOU GOT CAUGHT CHEATING AND THE WORLD WILL KNOW," he wrote in the caption of the video.

He also named dropped Jay-Z and Nicki Minaj in the video. Peep the clip below:

So, here's the thing.  If you've publicly trashed and discredited Billboard and labeled it as a fraud, why on earth would you still care about being on it, let alone spend your own money to be on it?

After accusing Ariana of purchasing units, she went on Instagram to respond to Tekashi's claims.

She wrote:

Tekashi then responded to her, saying he wasn't coming for her. His beef is with Billboard.

LIFE is REAL when you’re on welfare LIFE is REAL when you grow up with out a father. You don’t know what that is like. You say for me to be humble .... I don’t think you know what humble is.......... Now, Billboard is addressing Tekashi's allegations. In a new article, they explained how this week's numbers were calculated, breaking down how they calculate streams and airplay. Billboard also responded to Tekashi's claims that Ariana's team purchased unites with "six credit cards."

"Billboard and Nielsen Music/MRC Data conducts audits on all sales reported with access to purchase-level detail, and works with data partners to recognize excessive bulk purchases and remove those units from the final sales total. All titles this week, as in every week, were put under the same scrutiny. (Billboard has reached out to Fame House/Bravado, retailer and reporter of director-to-consumer sales, for further comment about the sales data provided for 'Stuck With U.')"

It started when Snoop continued to call Tekashi a rat and encouraged others to NOT support a "snitch" like him. That's when Tekashi got petty and decided to post a video of Snoop cheating on his wife, Shante Broadus, with famed clout chaser, Celina Powell.

  Before Snoop deleted the post, Tekashi hopped in his comments, pointing out that Snoop never denied there's paperwork that would confirm he cooperated with law enforcement. "Still hasn't even denied the paperwork. lEaVe Me AlOnE 'you're blowing my cover,'" he wrote.

A pair of Nine Trey Bloods gangster were found guilty Thursday of drug dealing and other mayhem around the city — thanks in large part of their former friend, Tekashi69. -born rapper stole the show. The self-proclaimed troll testified under a cooperation agreement with the government for three days. He betrayed the gang that made him a commercial success through a mix of street cred, viral trash talk on social media and rowdy music videos filled with Nine Trey members. Meek Mill Says He’s Going To “Crush” Tekashi 6ix9ine “For The Culture”

Much to the dismay of OG’s, YG’s, and BG’s, Tekashi Snitch9ine made a pretty triumphant return to the rap game last Friday when he made his long awaited return to social media and had his latest music video rack up over 7 million views in just a few hours. But it wasn’t long before the dime dropping troll found himself in familiar territory as Meek Mill got on social media to let off more than a few shots and properly called out Hip-Hop’s “Henry Hill.” Continuing to beef with the government’s rainbow haired star witness, Meek took to Twitter to reference Tekashi by stating that real heads “control the culture” and he was ready to “set a example.”

But he didn’t stop there, in a now deleted tweet Meek took it upon himself to declare that he’s made it his mission to “crush” Tekashi 6ix9ine’s career “for the culture” while pointing out that the “Gummo” rapper is talking all that ish while living in witness protection at an undisclosed location.

Though Meek has since removed that tweet, he let off another scribe in which he referenced the late-great Nipsey Hussle (R.I.P.) and how he was killed by a clown himself.

How this will eventually end remains to be seen. Though we doubt Meek will ever get close enough to Tekashi to settle this like men (especially since Tekashi no longer has his Trey Way crew to be his muscle), we feel like Tekashi will try to turn this into an “lets see who sells more records” situation and unfortunately, Meek might have to take an L on that one.

That 6ix9ine Cult is as dedicated to their rainbow haired leader as the MAGA crowd is to their orange hued overlord. Just look at Kanye West.
