sukone tei (aka scottei) is a japanese synth who was first introduced in 2010. she is a vipperloid (this means she was developed by users of the japanese imageboard called 2chan (aka 2channel, 2ch, futaba channel, and futaba) with the express purpose of trolling and tricking people into thinking she was a new vocaloid). unlike teto, who is also vipperloid, tei had a voice bank developed right from the beginning. she was designed by and originally drawn by uramiti, then in 2012 she recived a redraw/ redesign from Shouyu. she is voiced by Kako Futaba. she is currently managed by ミナツキトーカ (minatsukitōka, i cant find a translation for this though). tei is 19yo and 171.2cm tall. 

 on 19 jun 2014 an official apology was sent to cfm from the scottei team, saying they are sorry for presenting sukone tei as a cryptonloid. this apologly was accepted (i think ??) and they stated that there will be no issues with tei in the future. also !!! very important !!!!!!! they apologised for and removed any reference to tei: being attracted to kagamine len (!!!!!!), wanting to kill hatsune miku, hating vocaloids, and a variety of other things. tei has been free from these things for 9 years now !

I feel like a lot of people end up sanitizing Sukone Tei to an uncomfortable degree when they rewrite her or just feed into negative stereotypes and reduce her to being a yandere.

While there are definitely aspects that need changing, a lot of interpretations, whether intentional or not, send the message of "if you're mentally ill in the wrong way then you need to quietly ignore that part of yourself. We don't want to acknowledge people like you."

I know she was originally made as a joke and not in good faith, but I don't think the answer is just ignoring things that were originally portrayed that way. I want to see more people embracing the more uncomfortable parts of her character and writing genuine good faith portrayals instead.
