And to think. If Teft died in a bridge run before or after the trial by highstorm? Kaladin would be dead. If Teft did not still believe deep DEEP down the teachings of the Envisagers? Kaladin would be dead. If Teft got put into a different bridge crew? Kaladin would be dead. If Teft didn’t give him those spheres? If Teft was not slightly curious? If Teft initially joined a different army? If Teft did not leave things alone? KALADIN WOULD BE DEAD. Teft is probably one of the most important characters in the way of kings solidly for what he knows and he does not get nearly enough credit for it.

And this alone makes his death SO much harder.
