Review:

One disastrous kiss, 15 years of heartbreak, and now a successful doctor finds herself running into the biggest flirt that broke her heart all those years ago and he's determined to win her over. Hannah Havens was not a popular teen, she was a nerd but when she kissed Teddy Fraser, a popular ladies man, she really thought it was going to be the best day of her life... until he opened his mouth and ruined it all. One thing lead to another and her dream kiss turned into a nightmare and she told herself to forget about him. Now years later she is a successful doctor and has returned to her small town... crashing right back into Teddy. Hannah would love nothing more than to avoid him at all cost but Teddy is determined to get close to her again.... and if they ever want a chance to make it work they'll have to face the kiss that went wrong all those years ago. I'm going to be honest I did not like Teddy or Hannah one bit at all and didn't really care for their romance. The big misunderstandings and the whole thing between them just felt childish and lackluster in the romance department. I just found myself not caring and skimming until I got to the end of the book and the whole "resolution" just felt bland at best to me. Honestly, this one just was not for me, however I do think that people who love second chance romances and miscommunication tropes will have fun with this one.

For some reason last night i had a rush of energy and produced a bunch of concept sketches for a RPG concept that has been on my head for some time, some of these characters have shown up in my blog before.

It’s mostly my ideas for 7 of the playable characters.

The setting takes place in what appears to be an utopic society resembling the late 90′s and early 00′s, the world is at peace and completely devoid of violence under the constant vigilance of “the judges” a group that tirelessly monitors everything and everyone and whenever tension raises and what would be a fight/battle breaks out the Judges appear to instead resolve the issue through heavily regulated, sports like combat and nobody  really ever gets hurt.

Soon enough 4 kids would learn there is more to the world than they think.

So the characters:

-Ana Marissa: An otherwise ordinary girl that has a reputation for being the toughest kid around, her class mates see her as somewhat of a problem solver which has made her more mature and responsible for her age and develop a instinct for overprotecting her friends and often feels the weight of the world is on her shoulders but she can’t yield, as she has to be strong enough for others.  -June: a sweet trans girl who is full of the harmony vibes of her world, she wants everybody to get along and the idea of conflict of any kind makes her incredibly uncomfortable. Through the course of the story she gains empathic powers that allow her to commute with opponents and heal allies. -Keith: An insecure pushover kid that is that is very troubled about his own worth, lately he’s been down becausehe heard his mom talk about how he used to be best friends with a kid he doesn’t even remember ever existing, with news that June would be moving out of town soon he fears one day he will to forget about her. During the opening act an act of great stress causes the awakening of his fire magic powers. -Aaron: A kind of knuckleheaded but well meaning boy who has problems with communicating his feelings, so he opts for constantly trying to play fight with people he wants to be friends with, however his rowdy ruff attitude have come to Keith as bullying, but Aaron believes when Keith stands up for himself that means they’re friends. He has a crush on June who seems to be the only person who is not annoyed by his antics, as she understand that’s Aaron’s way of socializing. He keeps writing every little thing he experiences in a journal. Over the course of the game he gains access to a “guardian” force called “the golde eagle”. -Azalea: Described as “a boston terrier the size of an english Mastiff”, she is a dog with psychic powers and intelligence equivalent to a 5 year old human. The ribbon collar she wears has a hidden device to broadcast her thoughts and, so to speak, talk to the kids. -KT-18: Referred to as “Katy” by other characters, she is a robot allegedly built to clean up the automated facility she was built in, however she seems to be equipped with unusually violent weapons that are supposed to not even exist. She has a bubbly personality and curious nature that stands out given that not any other robot around seems to have the level of sentience she has. -Tessie: a “Construct”, that is, a sort of Magic Automaton designed to take care of children and to do household chores, designed to resemble a teddy bear, there is still something unsettling about her affable visage. She is able to protect other character within her plush body, which can tank incredible amounts of damage. Eventually she’s assigned as June’s personal bodyguard.

The adventure kicks off the night before June and her mother are supposed to move out, Ana Marissa finds out, that oddly, they seem to be leaving at midnight escorted by strange men, she and Keith sneak out of their homes and find out they weren’t moving out at all, they were taken to a hidden facility in the woods were a strange man intended to feed both of them to a strange machine, and things snowball from there.
