while I still think Marcus and Claire are really great love interests for them separately with great chemistry, I think the seeds are finally being planted deeper for a meaningful Sydney/Carmy connection that isn't just culinary soulmates.

like Carmy acknowledging to Sydney that he doesn't want to be shitty with how he doesn't prioritize their partnership, or Carmy realizing he doesn't even know something as basic about Sydney like that her mom is dead. Sydney feeling like she might be lashing out because she's jealous, but also frustrated that Carmy didn't even tell her Claire existed. Sydney being awkward with Marcus after turning him down only to almost immediately have the charged tension scene with Carmy. Carmy having a panic attack over his feelings for Claire scaring him out of his mind only to calm down at the thought of Sydney.

I gotta say, I could see them being great down the road??

How do you feel about TedRebecca and/or their shippers?

PERSONALLY (and I know this is very subjective, so I'm not saying this is The Truth, just sharing my own thoughts), I didn't really feel any romantic/sexual chemistry between T&R, and I never got into the pairing for that reason. I don't remember ever seeing them together and thinking they looked like they were going to kiss, or like they were checking each other out, or anything like that. If you compare Rebecca interacting with the Dutch pilot (who she was very obviously attracted to) and Rebecca interacting with Ted, it's like night and day. They were obviously very important to each other and there was a lot of love and affection there, but I see them more as friends because I didn't feel like there was much of a romantic vibe. Friendships can be profound and important, too!!

I used to be annoyed by the shippers but after the finale fakeout I started to really empathize with them, because I was queerbaited by destiel to the point of mental illness and I know that feeling. They don't bother me, I've curated my spaces so well that I've never come into contact with one on accident

I'm kind of permanently baffled that Ted is this fandom's Most Shippable Guy and is one half of 2 of the top 3 TL ships on ao3 (and before r/j took off in s3 the leap in numbers between ted ships and everything else was even more egregious, lol). I simply...do not think about him like that and do not want to, lol.

So... TedRebecca & TedTrent. and pretty much any other Ted ship, though none of the others are very popular. all the love to tedtrenters though who are by and large super lovely people :) glad you guys are having fun

i know we all know in our hearts tedrebecca is going to happen but i also do think the internet will collectively lose its shit when it happens, myself included, because for multiple years despite groundwork being laid i have been going “yes but what if they don’t. they could just not for some reason that i don’t understand because so much television Does That” and as such if my hopes are not unfounded i will jump into the sea

This is kind of a hilarious compliment, I'll take it!

Honestly I didn't have any sort of opinion on TedBecca until I read a fic that melted my heart (I wish I could remember what it was!). And then I wrote some throwaway line about Ted asking Roy about Rebecca and that eventually became the TedBecca bit in Something There!

I'm glad Roy & Bucky are worth having to read a ship you don't enjoy!

I know that there’s been some slight :-( at the lack of TedRebecca moments until one remembers:

Sam and Annie spent most of the time apart. They only had about three moments - first one was in the airport (where Sam briefly sees Annie and tries to follow her), next was Annie seeing the Sam and Jonah with their friends in the docks and the last one was where they finally meet at the top of the Empire State Building.

There’s also that moment when Walter and Annie were having a dinner, and Walter tells Annie “I don’t want to be someone who anyone settles for” and it’s certainly something to think about settling for something just because it’s safe.

It’s not exactly I’VE CONNECTED THE DOTS (you didn’t connect shit), but I choose to believe in Romcommunism till the end.

Just had a mooch around the internet to refresh my memory on SIS and - Somewhere Over The Rainbow isn't just in You've Got Mail. It also briefly features in Sleepless in Seattle. It's the song that's playing when Dr. Fieldstone wraps up her radio show.

This has me thinking that my theory might have some weight to it - Ted may well announce his intention to leave, but he could also end up paying one last visit to Dr. Sharon for some advice before he commits to a decision. Then, and only then, will we get the big rom-com ending.
