James can hardly hear past the roar of his pulse in his ears as he is the sole focus of Jackie Tyler’s—(Jackie Peters’s? He’ll have to ask Rose what last name her mum has)—ire. Gone is the cheerful grin he’d seen in the photos Rose had sent of herself and her mother on holiday in Barcelona; now that joy is replaced with the sort of rage only a mother is capable of. 

He throws a desperate glance at the other adult in the room, but Tyler Peters is stunned into silence, his eyes locked on James as though he’d never seen a human being before.

Absurdly, this is what unfreezes James, and he throws out a stupid little, “Hello. I’m James Noble. Pleasure.”

“You’ve got a lot of nerve showin’ up here,” Jackie spits, stalking ever-closer. James regrets that he didn’t use the last two seconds to free himself from his position of being backed against the countertop. “Who the hell do you think you are?”

“Mummy! Daddy!”

Jackie whirls around to face the corridor at the sound of a tiny voice and pitter-patter of feet. She automatically crouches, and Tony gallops headlong into his mother’s waiting arms. She scoops him up and peppers kisses across his fair skin.

“Did you have a good night with sissy?” Jacke coos, stroking his hair away from his face. “She didn’t feed you any ice cream, did she?”

“Yeah! An’ made hotdogs and cheesy ‘tatoes, then we played Jus’ Dance, an’ James was there!”

“Oh?” Jackie asks, flashing James a withering glare. “When did he get here?”

“Yeah, he’s so fun!” Tony squeals, pivoting in his mother’s arms to beam at James. “He’s my fav’rite.”

Rose finally emerges from down the hall, her cheeks stained scarlet as she squeaks, “Hi, Mum. I expected you to text when you got here.”

“Oh, so you could hide this one somewhere?” Jackie scowls, gesturing to James.

“I�� I wanted… I was gonna tell you…”

“What, that you let ‘im come weaslin’ back into your life? Did he come up with a sob story? Made it real convincin’, did he?”

“Jacks,” Tyler says quietly, inclining his head slightly towards Tony, who is still ensconced in his mother’s arms and watching the exchange curiously. “Let’s save it, eh?

Jackie purses her lips, then presses them to her son’s temple before handing the child to his father. “Take him outside, yeah? Meet you downstairs.”

“Five minutes,” Tyler warns. “This one needs to get to bed.” To his son, he chirps, “Say bye to sissy!”

“Bye-bye sissy! Gimme hugs and kisses!”

Rose tiptoes around her mother, not sparing her a glance as she scoops her little brother into her arms and gives him a couple of big twirls around the room.

“Spinny hug, spinny hug!” Tony screeches, clinging to Rose for dear life.

The sight makes something hollow ache in the pit of James’s gut. The siblings clearly adore each other, and Rose is so good with him.

“Bye-bye James!” Small hands tap his legs, and he realizes Tony is gesturing for a hug. He hesitates for only a fraction, but he can’t say no to those big brown eyes.

“G’night Tony,” he whispers, kneeling for a brief embrace. “Thanks for playing with me tonight.”

“All right, little man, wanna see who can race down the stairs fastest?” Tyler asks his son, ruffling Tony’s fair blond hair.

“Yeah! Onetwothreego!”

Tony bolts out of the flat, giggling madly, leaving his father to leisurely stroll behind him. Before Tyler closes the door behind him, he spins and says, “Good night, Rosie.”

“Night,” she mumbles, looking increasingly uncomfortable at the prospect of being left alone with her mother.

James nearly fumbles out an excuse to leave, but realizes that would be the most cowardly thing he’d ever done, and Rose deserves better than that. So he pulls on his big boy pants and turns to face the music.

Before he can speak, Jackie turns on Rose and throws her arms up into the air. “What are you thinking?! Have you gone mental?!”

“Mum, please just…”

“Whatever happened to “I deserve better than bein’ the latest in a long line”? I thought you were over bein’ a good time for someone who would drop you in a heartbeat for someone younger and smarter and prettier?”

Rose flinches from her mother, and James takes an automatic step towards her, reaching across the space between them.

“It’s not… it’s not like that,” Rose says weakly. “I got it wrong.”

“Oh, did you? ‘Cos from where I’m sittin’, it’s bloody obvious what’s going on here. Mister Handsome Rich Rockstar has swindled you again, tellin’ you whatever it is you want to hear so he can keep you ‘til he’s done with you.”

“Er, I’m not technically a rockstar,” James blurts, and he can hardly believe what has just come out of his mouth. But he can’t stop. It’s like his brain has ceased all higher function and his mouth has taken over. “More folk-pop. Indy, maybe? Soft pop?”

“Oh, shut up,” Jackie snaps, turning to him with fire in her eyes.

He clacks his teeth together and nods, stuffing his hands into his pockets in an attempt to make himself seem as small as possible, which is quite the impossible feat, considering his height.

“You! You need to get the hell away from my daughter if you know what’s good for you. You men, you’re all the same, taking what you want, thinkin’ you’re entitled to get your way, lyin’ through your bleedin’ teeth to get what you want. Well I won’t stand for it! My Rose deserves better. She isn’t a girl you can shag and drop the moment someone else comes along.”

“I… I know,” James stammers, his mouth impossibly dry and his stomach roiling in discomfort.

“Oh, do you?” Jackie remarks, false surprise lifting her face. “You had no problem tellin’ the entire bloody world you were just havin’ a bit of fun. ‘Cos that’s all you really want, isn’t it? Fun and a place to wet your cock…”

“Mum! Enough!” Rose shouts, red-faced and near-tears. “I was wrong. We’d both misunderstood each other. But we’re together now. Properly.”

“That’s what he told you, didn’t he? Bet he sounded real sorry too. Bet he said all the right words, didn’t he?”

James’s heart falls when he sees Rose flinch and drop her gaze to her feet.

“That’s enough,” he says quietly. “Say whatever you want about me, but Rose is smart enough to make her own decisions about her life, no matter what you believe. Yes, when Rose and I first started seeing each other, we each thought it was something casual. And I was an idiot for what I told the reporters. But things are different now. I want what’s best for her.”

Jackie grunts dismissively. “You say that now, but the moment she gives you a bit of bad press, you’re going to spin whatever little tale you need to tell to get the public on your side, and my Rose is gonna be the one who gets smeared through the muck.”

“I wouldn’t…”

“Mum, please,” Rose whispers. “I know I have an awful track record with boyfriends, but those are my mistakes to make. Maybe James will be a mistake, maybe he won’t be, but you have to let me live my life the way I choose to. And right now, I choose him.”

Jackie softens a fraction as she turns to her daughter. It’s as though with him out of sight, the gentle mother returns. She reaches to Rose and cradles her jaw, stroking her cheeks as she says, “My Rose. I will always want the best for you. It killed me to see you in such a state on holiday. I don’t want to see you be taken advantage of. Is it money? Sweetheart, you know me and your dad will help you out, you don’t need to stay with him for that.”

James is slightly offended that Jackie thinks he’s paying Rose to hang out with him or paying her for sex, but before he can think of a response, Rose covers her mother’s hands and leans into the touch.

“It’s not money,” she assures. “He’s not paying for anything of mine.”

“He bloody well should—he’s rich! You better not be payin’ for your dates!”

Rose lets out a sniffly giggle and throws her arms around her mother, who holds her tightly and rocks her from side to side. James wonders if he should sneak out while they’re distracted, but he finds he’s rooted to the spot, trying to wrap his head around the last few minutes.

“Please be safe, sweetheart,” Jackie whispers. “Please.”

“I am safe, Mum. And I wish you’d believe me when I say I’m happy. Really happy.”

“I believe that you believe it,” Jackie says, pulling back just far enough to kiss Rose’s forehead. “Remember that I’m here for you the moment you need me. Don’t you ever think you can’t come home to your old mum.”

Rose nods wordlessly.

The fight seems to have left Jackie, but she turns to him and says, “Don’t you dare hurt her, or mess her over.”

“I–  I won’t,” he vows.

Jackie narrows her eyes, scanning him up and down, but doesn’t say anything else. She turns away from him and back to Rose. “I gotta go. It’s way past Tony’s bedtime. Thanks for watchin’ him.”

“Of course. I love spending time with him,” Rose says, guiding her mother to the door.

“I love you. More than anything.”

“Love you too. Drive safe.”

Jackie kisses both of Rose’s cheeks and doesn’t even look James’s way as she sweeps out of the flat.

Downstairs in the foyer, Tyler Peters is desperately trying to occupy his definitely-tired-but-pretending-he’s-not-tired four-year-old, and it’s going about as well as one could hope. Tony is racing laps around the room, skillfully dodging the amused (and mercifully tolerant) tenants of the building who are simply trying to enter or exit the building.

“Watch it, mate,” he calls when Tony nearly barrels into the little old lady who has lived in this building for decades. She is one of the few residents who already leased a flat here before Tyler became the owner of the building. “So sorry Mrs. Donovan.”

“Oh, my grandsons have just as much energy,” the old woman says cheerfully, smiling down at Tony. “These bones may be old, but they’re sturdier than they look.”

“Hi!” Tony chirps, flashing a toothy smile. “Bye!”

And so the laps continue.

Tyler sighs and checks his watch. He should’ve known Jackie couldn’t keep it to five minutes. It’s nearing on fifteen, and he’s about to corral his son so they can go fetch her when the lift dings and Jackie steps out, her eyes sparking and her jaw locked.

“Mummy!” Tony sprints over and takes her hand. “Time to go!”

Tyler joins his family and takes his wife’s free hand, rubbing his thumb along the back of hers.

“Chat go all right?” he asks quietly.

“I don’t know what the hell she’s thinking,” Jackie grumbles. “I mean… James bloody Noble?! It was bad enough to hear my daughter was havin’ a lark with that… that… scoundrel in the first place. But now she’s taken him back? Stupid. Irresponsible.”

Tyler bites back a smirk and knocks his elbow into her ribs. “Put yourself in her shoes, eh? When you were her age, you can’t tell me that you wouldn’t have bedded Bono if he’d shown the slightest bit of interest in you?”

“It’s not the same!” she complains. “Bono never would’ve…”

“And Rose likely thought James Noble never would’ve,” he says simply. “You know I love her dearly and that I want the best for her, but Rose seems happy right now. Will it last? Probably not. But let her have this, eh? How many people can say they dated a famous singer in their youth? It’ll be a story for the grandkids and great-grandkids.”

His wife huffs out another impatient breath, but doesn’t argue further. “Yeah. Maybe. But still. James bloody Noble. I just hope Rose knows what she’s doing, datin’ that man…”

Tyler wraps his arm around her waist and gives her a squeeze, but doesn’t say more. Together, they walk out of the foyer of the building, all while being watched by two young women leaning on the wall beside the lifts.

The women exchange stunned, disbelieving looks.

“James Noble? The James Noble?” one of them asks.

“With Rose Tyler?” the other asks. “The girl up in flat 10-2?”

No fucking way…

James stares at the front door for several long seconds after Jackie’s marvelous exit. Rose shifts away from his side to step forward, twisting the lock and fastening the deadbolt chain before she clunks her forehead into the door. She doesn’t move from her position, so he goes to her.

Carefully, he slips his arms around her waist and presses a whisper-soft kiss to the side of her neck. Though she feels limp, she manages to spin in his grasp to instead plonk her head into his chest rather than her front door. She simply stands there, unmoving, as he rubs her back.

“I’m sorry,” she whispers, voice muffled. “I didn’t think… I thought she’d… I’m so sorry.”

He doesn’t know what to say, so he stays quiet, nestling his stubbly cheek into her hair and breathing her in. Never before has a parental introduction gone so poorly. Usually his partners are as famous as him, so the parents are accepting and gracious or simply indifferent. Occasionally they’ll fawn over him.

But the outright hostility and venom that Jackie just spat at him…

“I didn’t realize you’d told your mum about me,” he finally says, matching the volume of his voice with hers.

She groans and says, “During our holiday. I’d been out of sorts, thinkin’ you didn’t care about us at all. Mum caught on to my mood. I didn’t mean to tell her, but I was quite upset, and it all just sorta… came out. And when I saw your red-carpet interview that confirmed I was just a bit of fun for you… I lost it, and she saw my reaction, and it wasn’t good.”

James wishes he could go back in time and wallop his past self across the head for his thoughtless comments. He wishes he’d had the courage to tell the interviewer how he felt about Rose, to tell the world that he was riding the high of falling in love, and that he wanted to keep it private. But he hadn’t. He’d been a prick and a twat, and he’d broken Rose’s heart from five and a half thousand miles away.

“I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be. I’ve forgiven you for it all. But I just… I guess I’d forgotten how much I’d told Mum about you. And I’d forgotten how upset she was on my behalf. I was stupid for thinking that telling her on the spot that you and I were properly together would be enough for her to accept you. I shouldn’t have done it this way… I should have talked to her first, then introduced you. I’m so stupid.”

His stomach churns as he squeezes her tightly, as though that could rid them both of the shock they’re in.

“Should I… should I go?” he asks, mentally pleading with her to say no. The thought of spending his night in his empty house makes him ache with loneliness. 

To his relief, she shakes his head. “I don’t want you to, but I don’t feel like I deserve to have you with me tonight. My mum just… verbally eviscerated you. You must be so angry.”

“Not at all,” he insists. “Well… I’m a bit chastened. And a bit embarrassed that I made such a poor first impression, and that you’d been so upset about my behavior that you told your mum how awful I am. But I still want to be here. With you. If that’s all right.”

In response, Rose finally lifts her face from where it had been pressed into his shirt. Her eyes are a little red but completely dry, though he barely registers that fact before she threads her fingers through his hair, presses up onto her toes, and brushes her mouth to his. His eyes flutter shut at the glorious pressure of her kiss. He melts into her, splaying his palm across her back to hold her close.

“Stay,” she murmurs when she breaks away, though she catches his lips in another kiss a moment later. “Please stay with me.”

“For as long as you wish,” he says, because there is nothing on this planet that could make him leave.

Apart from her kiss of greeting at the door, this is the first that James has had Rose’s hands and lips on him in over a week. He tries to keep it chaste and slow, still unsure whether it’s appropriate for him to stay, while hoping to convey comfort and support through his body. He really shouldn’t let them get carried away; Rose is obviously upset, but he just can’t help it. He’s drawing as much strength from her as she hopefully is from him.

He has the presence of mind to keep his hands in safe places, primarily across the expanse of her back. He grabs onto the fabric to anchor himself as he basks in the heady intoxication of her mouth.

They each know exactly where this kiss is headed but pretend not to, and instead they explore each other’s mouths in lazy, indolent strokes of lips and tongue. James quickly becomes far too hot, his skin flushed and tingling with anticipation of things to come. He tentatively dips his fingers beneath her jumper, shuddering to touch her bare skin. She sighs into his mouth and presses her front flush with his.

He’s steadily getting hard in his jeans, each beat of his heart sending his blood rushing down, down, down, helped along by the rocking of Rose’s hips. He drops a hand to her arse, caressing and squeezing and pulling her more tightly into him. With his other hand, he tangles his fingers into her hair and guides her head back a bit to get better access to her neck. They move even more slowly when Rose remembers that she has hands, then proceeds to use them to cup him and stroke him through his jeans.

“Christ,” he chokes out as a spark of pleasure zips up his spine.

“Rose,” she counters, giving him a playful squeeze that sends a full-body shudder through him.

“Smart-arse. Fuck, do that again.”

A laugh hums up her throat, vibrating against his now-still lips as she grips him tightly and rubs. He’s going to fucking lose it, right here in the doorway of her bedroom, but Christ this feels so good and he never, ever wants her to stop.

The intensity recedes a moment later, and he regains his senses enough to tug her hand away from him to instead guide her all the way into her room. There’s a pile of laundry on her bed that Rose haphazardly shoves to the floor.

“Clothes off,” she orders as she fumbles with the hem of her jumper, tugging until she pulls it over her head.

He doesn’t need telling twice.

Neither of them bothers with trying to sexily disrobe the other. Rather, they go for speed and efficiency, and soon enough, they’re both wonderfully naked. She’s as beautiful as he remembers, even more so, and he drags her down to the mattress with him. She’s laughing with him and turns to face him fully. He mirrors her position so they’re both on their sides, their legs tangled lazily together. He reaches out and brushes a few rogue strands of hair away from her face, then leans in to kiss her softly.

“That was great,” he whispers into the sacred silence of her bedroom.

“Mhm. Very great.”

“The most great,” he says, beaming as she rolls her eyes.

“Did you have a nice trip?” she asks.

He hums in wordless assent, and briefly tells her all about the week he’d spent in east Asia, meeting fans and doing photoshoots while promoting Catalysis.

“How was your week? Are you feeling better?” While her voice is still raspy from the illness she’d contracted, she looks and sounds much better than she had during their video chat on his last night in Japan.

“Much better. Teaching classes while feeling like death is always frustrating, but it’s easier than arranging for a substitute,” she says with a shrug.

He frowns, but they already had this discussion about how shittily schools treat their teachers, so he lets it go.

“I’ve got an upcoming holiday concert at the O2, weekend after next,” he murmurs, remembering the monthly schedule Donna had sent him that morning. “I’d… I’d really like you to come. If you want. It’s not just me. I think Ed Sheeran is on the list too. And Astrid Peth. She’s a good mate of mine. You can bring a few friends with you. There’s a private suite for my guests, so you could stay hidden, mostly, as long as cameras aren’t wandering around. And my mum’ll be there too. I think. Well. I should invite her, shouldn’t I…?”

Rose interrupts his nervous rambling with a soft kiss. He melts into her, but she breaks it far too soon for his liking.

“I’d love to,” she says, cupping his cheek before scraping her nails through his hair.

His eyes flutter shut at the echoes of pleasure that ripple through him, and he grins at her acceptance of his invitation. He’s giddy at the thought of being on stage and looking into his private suite to see Rose. His favorite pieces of his life will be in the same place, melding together perfectly.

He leans forward to kiss her again, and she willingly reciprocates.

They sleep, eventually. Between (and during) bouts of sex, they talk about everything and nothing. It’s like nothing bad can happen to them here, not when they’re twined so intimately, not when they’re making each other laugh so freely.

His eyes are gritty and heavy as he leans over to check the time. It’s barely 8am, but he feels refreshed, even though the drowsiness of lingering sleep tugs at him again. His shuffling has disturbed Rose, who curls close to him and mutters something unintelligible. He kisses her forehead and closes his eyes once more.

He drifts in and out for many long minutes before the gurgling of his stomach is too distracting. Even Rose hears it, and she pokes his belly, mumbling, “Shush.”

“Can’t exactly help it. Mind if I order a breakfast and coffee delivery?”

“Go for it,” Rose says through a yawn.

“Then can I borrow your shower?” he asks, sitting up and letting the sheets pool around his naked waist.

“Go for it,” she repeats, tucking an arm beneath her pillow to glance up at him. Her gaze falls to the morning erection that is somehow poking at the blankets despite their multiple rounds of very satisfying sex the night before. “Well, hello.”

She gently prods it, giggling when it bobs a bit. “Bouncy.”

James stifles a snort. “You’re adorable when you’re sleepy.”

“Should be here in half an hour,” he says, resting his phone on the nightstand, ignoring the handful of missed notifications. It’s the bloody weekend, for God’s sake. It can wait. For good measure, he completely silences everything, not wanting his morning with Rose to be disturbed.

“Hmmm, how can we pass the time?” Rose muses, blinking up at him through her lashes and grinning wickedly.

She shows him just how entertaining thirty minutes can be.

He doesn’t have time for a shower before there’s a knock at the door that has them scrambling for clothes. He tugs on his pants and t-shirt while Rose simply dons a robe overtop her knickers, cinching it tight at the waist to keep her modesty. They emerge from the bedroom, with James going to the kitchen for plates while Rose heads to the door.

There’s an odd commotion in the hallway, but James doesn’t really think much of it, not as he absently wonders what he and Rose could do today. Maybe they can sneak out somewhere and visit a museum or something. Maybe he could take her to the studio—it should be fairly empty on a Saturday morning. Maybe they can take an impromptu road trip to somewhere Rose has never been. Pack their bags and drive to the first place they can think of. Book a hotel and order in a bunch of fancy food and rent some films to watch and get drunk on expensive wine and kiss until their lips are bruised. God, that sounds like a perfect weekend, and he hopes Rose will be agreeable.

Trivia and reference Cuphead Comics season 1:

Against Elder Kettle's warnings, the brothers enter the Devil's Casino and begin playing craps. 

• It is possible to refer to The Cuphead Show season 3 episode 11,, The Devil and Ms. Chalice" when Cuphead mindlessly ran to the casino like it tempted him and Chalice and Mugman chase after him to stop him.

Cuphead seems to be based on Mickey Mouse and Mugman seems to be based on Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

Elder Kettle may based on the character Mr. Coffeepot from the 1935 Van Beuren cartoon Picnic Panic. Both characters even have cup-like children that they care for.

King Dice is heavily based on Cab Calloway, a famous American jazz singer who notably appeared Betty Boop cartoons with his songs.

• he was the Devil's right-hand man in the game, while in The Cuphead Show he was the Devil's number one

The Devil's design is based on the devil from "Hell's Bells", a short from Silly Symphonies.

•  He bears similarities to is Ursula from The Little Mermaid. He strikes deals with people just as Ursula strikes deals with merfolks. (Why do they keep contracts? They probably kicked his ass) Also, he said "Poor unfortunately soul" is referencing to Ursula's song "Poor Unfortunate Souls"

• He is inspired by Hades from Hercules. That's explain his quote "Going once... Going twice.".

• When the Devil is defeated by Cuphead and Mugman, he said "I hate cups" It's referencing to The Cuphead Show.

• In the finale fight, Devil call Henchman is referencing to the Cuphead Show, where starring Henchman, the Devil's assistant.

Legendary Chalice has a habit of being captured by the ghosts in mausoleums everytime. Shan Lee, Werner Werman and Goopy Le Grande telling their about mausoleums and powers named Super Arts.

• Why did they know? Because Goopy has hallucinations when he saw her. Shan Lee was curious about her. And Werner intends to kill her, but misses.

While many believe the names of the Root Pack are "Moe Tato", "Weepy", and "Psycarrot", these are unofficial names created by fans. But now they named their "Sal Spudder", "Ollie Bulb" and "Chauncey Chantenay".

The Root Pack may have been inspired by other anthropomorphic vegetables from cartoons such as The Tears of an Onion (1938) and The Fresh Vegetable Mystery (1939).

• In The Cuphead Show season 1 episode 7 "Root Pack", they are the main antagonists, because they sneak into Elder Kettle's shack, while Cuphead and Mugman have to look after his garden and then they eaten the shack's soil when the two cups catch them.

His name, Goopy Le Grande, means Goopy The Great in Italian.

• "Le Grande" is also a pun on "El Grande" (Spanish for "The Big") and "Le Grand" (French for "The Big").

Goopy Le Grande's design are homages to the Slime, a common enemy and the mascot of Dragon Quest, and cartoons such as Ub Iwer's Balloon Land. 

• Cuphead call him Rocky Balboa is referencing to Rocky Balboa, the main character from Rocky starring Sylvester Stallone.

Hilda Berg is connected to Betty Boop and Pearl from Steven Universe.

Her name is a pun on the Hindenburg, an infamous German zeppelin known for its destruction at New Jersey field in 1937.

• Hilda Berg makes an appearance in The Cuphead show season 2  epidoes 2 , "Charmed & Dangerous", where she as cameo. Whereas in Cuphead (my version), she knows them. Plus she knows astrology.

Cagney Carnation is tribute to famous animated flora from the 1932 Disney Silly Symphony cartoon Flowers and Trees through the 1930s and beyond. His first name came from the famous 1930s film star James Cagney.

• Cagney reminds of Flowey the Flower from game Undertale.

Cagney's idle animation in his first phase is a direct reference to the dancing style of a ghost in the 1930 Talkartoon "Swing You Sinner!"

Ribby and Croaks are based on Ryu and Ken from the Street Fighter series

Their color schemes may also have been inspired by the Frog and Toad children's stories by Arnold Lobel.

Ribby and Croaks may have been inspired by the Battletoads.

• Ribby and Croaks are supporting  and recurring characters in The Cuphead Show!. They were originally boxing champions, but their mother disapproved of it, since she hate to see her sons boxing each other. So that's why they wearing suits.

• They are the main antagonists in The Cuphead Show episode 3 " Ribby and Croaks". The funny thing is that they fight each other.

Djimmi is based off the Genie from the 1992 Disney film, Aladdin. Actually, some scenes (in my version) refer to Aladdin. For example, "I can't believe it. I'm losing to a cups". Also, Cuphead call him Robbie Williams, who voiced Gienie ( RIP Robbie Williams)

• Many also compare Djimmi to Patrick Star from SpongeBob SquarePants due to his facial expressions and shape.

The pipe in Djimmi's mouth is a mixture of the Calabash pipe (used by Sherlock Holmes portrayed by Basil Rathbone) and the Corncob pipe (commonly used by Popeye the Sailor in all of his cartoons).

Djimmi falls in love with Shan Lee. At first they're friends, but later they're couples.

Shan Lee is daughter of sun goddess. That means she is demigoddess. She prayed to the gods in a Chinese words.

She is inspired by fighting woman in fighter games such as Chun Li from Street Fighter or Li Mei from Mortal Kombat

• Her appearance resembles female Monk from Diablo 3.

Cuphead call her " Tigress". It doesn't bother her because:

• It symbolises bravery and strength, the tiger is known as the king of the beasts throughout Chinese culture.

• It's referencing to Tigress from Kung Fu Panda.

Her phase 2 with pose references to disney movie 1998  Mulan, where Mulan fighting Shan Yu.

Beppi's name is a reference to Tito Beppi, a clown portrayed by Lon Chaney in the 1928 film Laugh, Clown, Laugh.

• He reminds of Pennywise, the main antagonists of Stephen King's novel and Horror movie ,,It"

He said ,,Why so serious? " is refence to Dark Knight, when Joker say same.

Beppi is a homage to Fleischer's iconic character Koko the Clown of the Betty Boop cartoons and 1930s animation

Baroness Von Bon Bon seems to be inspired by the French queen Marie Antoinette. This is indicated by her utilization of her cake castle in her final phase, referencing the phrase "Let them eat cake".

Her name, Bon Bon, is used in various languages (like French or many Balkan countries) for candy.

She throws her head at Cuphead and Mugman could be a reference to The Queen Of Hearts in Alice In Wonderland. The Queen's popular quote is "Off with his/her head!"

• In The Cuphead Show season 2 episode 5 "Sweet Temptation" Baroness is main antagonist. Why? Because she is an evil, psychol and murderous individual that turns children who break her rules into candy so she can eat them. But in Cuphead ( my version) she is an sweet, beautiful, loving and a little aggressive and dramatic, who she is Ruler of Sugarland and Cuphead falls in love with her.

Baroness is inspired by Princess Bubblegum from Adventure Time.

• In The Cuphead Show, She very coincidentally resembles Mommy Long Legs from Poppy Playtime, as they both initially claim to help the protagonists but end up trying to kill them in the end.

Grim Matchstick was named after Grim Natwick, a legendary animator notable for his designing of Fleischer's Betty Boop and Disney's Snow White, with his stutter also being a direct reference to Natwick.

Grim's personality matches that of the Dragon from The Reluctant Dragon, as both characters are wanting to prove that they are friendly and yearn to gain acceptance into society among their peers.

• He also bears a resemblance to Taro from The 7th Voyage of Sinbad which is one of the creatures animated via stop-motion by Ray Harryhausen.

• Grim's facial structure, complete with a pointed muzzle, bears a small resemblance to that of Maleficent's dragon form the 1959 Disney film, Sleeping Beauty.

• He also bears a physical resemblance to Grimm from Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders.

His final, three-headed form is presumably based off of King Ghidorah from the Godzilla or the Hydra, a three-headed dragon from Greek mythology

Cuphead call him "Wawel Dragon". It's a famous dragon in Polish legend.

• In The Cuphead Show Grim Matchstick is shown to have a child, implying that he might have a wife. Season 1 Episode 10 " Dangerous Mugman" Grim save his child from Porkrind ( How cute!)

Wally Warbles is inspired by the giant roc in Popeye the Sailor Meets Sinbad the Sailor 

• Wally's name may be a reference to Walter Lantz, founder of Walter Lantz Productions and creator of Woody Woodpecker.

• Wally looks similar to the buzzards from the 1931 Silly Symphony cartoon The Cat's Out.

The vehicle that his son, Willy, uses has a similar appearance and model to Bowser Junior's clown car.

Penelope Peaowl's song " I don't want to miss a thing " is refence to Aerosmith, rock band who they singing that song.

Final phase her showtime, she resembles Harpy, a half-woman and half-bird from Greek mythology.

In knockout, her boa choking her is similar boa constrictor - a species of snake from the constrictor family, one of the representatives of the boa subfamily.

Cuphead jokingly says that she and Rumor are lesbians.They really aren't.

Werner Werman is inspired Mortimer Mouse from the 1936 Disney short Mickey's Rival.

Due to the nature of the battle and inclusion of Katzenwagen, Werner's boss fight is a reference to the iconic Tom and Jerry cartoons.

• Werner's screaming similar to the iconic screams of Tom

• In The Cuphead Show Season 2 Episode 10 " Rats All Folks!" is most likely a parody of Tom & Jerry. ( Wener Werman is the main antagonist in the episode . Also he is small)

Werner's colour scheme, the shape of his muzzle, and his habit of constructing machines make him similar to Wile E. Coyote from Looney Tunes.

He also seems to be very similar to Vladimir from Nickelodeon's My Life as Teenage Robot, as they're both villainous rats with heavy accents (German for Werner, and Russian for Vladimir), and they attack their foes by using various weapons and automatons (Werner using his own soup-can tank, and Vladimir using Jenny, albeit only in his debut episode).

Werner speaks German accent.

Captain Brineybeard is a direct reference to Bluto from Popeye.

Brineybeard lost his legs by Cala Maria ( Sea Gorgon) to save his daughter ( in my version)

• In The Cuphead Show season 2 episode 3 "A High Seas Adventure! " he as stone by Cala Maria lost his legs by Mugman ( by accident)

• He is madly in love with her ( Yup. He is simp)

Brineybeard's song ,"Yo, Ho, Ho (And a Bottle of Rum)" is refence to Treasure Island, where pirates singing that song.

Cala Maria was human, and she have job as archaeologist ( reference to Lara Croft from Tomb Raider), and then she was possessed by spirit and transformed to giant monster aka Sea Gorgon ( or Sea Beast in The Cuphead Show) referencing to Enchatress (June Moone), super villain from DC Comics.

• Luckey, she was back to normal by Dr Kahl.

Her have last name "Neptune", that reference to Neptune ( Poseidon), god of sea.

Her level name is incredibly similar to that of a level in the game Crash Bandicoot: Twinsanity, named High Sea Hi-Jinks.

She is most likely inspired by Ariel from Disney's The Little Mermaid, as evident to being both mermaids

• Her skin color is similar to that of Ursula from The Little Mermaid.

• Her electrocution is similar to the former's death, as when she is killed, her skeleton is also seen. Additionally, the eels helping her may be referencing Flotsam and Jetsam, two eels who act as Ursula's henchmen.

Cala Maria's second form is based on the infamous Gorgon Medusa from Greek mythology.

• The fact that this is an air battle against might be inspired by the battle with Medusa in chapter 9 of Kid Icarus: Uprising.

• Her floating head form in the final phase is a reference to Medusa being decapitated by Perseus in Greek mythology, which has also been referenced in other video games featuring Medusa, such as the Medusa Head, a recurring enemy and boss in the Castlevania series.

When transforming into her third phase, her body turns to stone and her arms fall off, making it resemble the famous statue, Venus de Milo.

She has a similar name and color pallete to Celia Mae from the Disney Pixar film Monsters Inc., another gorgon-based character who has snakes for hair.

Mugman falls in love with her.

• Cala Maria and Mugman being love interests in the latter's book in “The I Scream Man“ in The Cuphead Show Season 2 ep 6 "The I Scream Man"

Dr. Kahl was inspiration from other mad scientists in other platforming game franchises, such as Dr. Wily from Mega Man, Dr. Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog, or Dr. Neo Cortex from Crash Bandicoot.

His robot similar to the Iron Giant from The Iron Giant ( He haved GIANT, but now gave FRANK)

• Dr Kahl's phase of the fight seems to bear a strong resemblance to the battle with N. Gin from Crash Bandicoot: Warped.

The Robot's presentation is ancillary to Rayman 2 The Great Escape, where the Seller visits Razorbeard and introduces Grolgoth as the Pirate's solution to Rayman's problem.

The invention of the "Beauty Machine" refers to the video game Banjo Kazooie, this machine works and managed to make Cala beaty and normal.

Robot say "BITE MY SHINE METAL ASS" is refence to Futurama, when Bender say same.

Rumor Honeybottoms was inspired to Honey Woman, an unused boss character from Capcom's Mega Man 9.

Security Bee seems to be inspired by a policeman ant from the 1940 cartoon Ants in the Plants, as both have similar designs.

• His design may have been inspired by Buzz the Bee, the Honey Nut Cheerios mascot.

• Also inn The Cuphead Show!, there are multiple security bees, but these security bees come in both genders and their colour schemes appear more green-ish. Their presence may suggest that Rumor Honeybottoms may be present in some way.

Sally Stageplay may have been inspired by Sally Swing, a blonde character from Betty Boop. 

• She has a similar color scheme to Sally Brown from Peanuts, who also (albeit coincidentally) has her given name.

In Cuphead Show season  3 episode 3 "Cupstaged", Sally Stageplay enters the theater pretending to have rabies to demonstrate what acting is. ( I love Marcia Gay Harden, who she voiced Sally ! 💖)

The Phantom Express is an homage to the Ghost Train from Final Fantasy VI. A musical nod to this train is included in Railroad Wrath

Za nami już sto wspólnie przeczytanych książek! Uczestnicy spotkań i sympatycy kieleckiego Klubu z Kawą nad Książką wspólnie wybrali najlepsze z lektur, z jakimi mierzyliśmy się w naszym klubie. Oto podsumowanie oddanych głosów!

Niekwestionowanym zwycięzcą okazała się nasza setna wspólna lektura, czyli Pan Lodowego Ogrodu. Tom 1 Jarosława Grzędowicza. Zaraz za Grzędowiczem, z równą ilością głosów i wynikiem drugiego miejsca, uplasowały się dwie powieści napisane przez kobiety: nieco metaforyczny Sen o okapi Mariany Leky oraz Gdzie śpiewają raki Delii Owens.

Twitter Blue je placená předplatitelská služba platformy, která umožňuje komukoli získat modré zaškrtnutí u svého jména, pokud zaplatí 8 dolarů měsíčně a potvrdí své telefonní číslo. So, on Thursday, 4/20, Elon removed all the "legacy verified" blue checks. The assumption was clearly that, despite all their blustering, when push came to shove the power users would nut up and pay for it, if only to avoid their fans being scammed using their likeness.

That didn't happen. As of 4/21, only weirdo Elon stans had blue checks. Those stans immediately got mad, because they had intended to purchase access to an exclusive club, and all the cool kids left as soon as they arrived.

To make matters worse for Elon, several influential shitposters began posting about #BlockTheBlue, a movement to block all paid Twitter bluechecks, and some even released scripts that would automatically block all bluecheck accounts for you.

However, some people retained their blue checks who swore they hadn't paid for them -- in particular, Stephen King and LeBron James, who had tweeted that they would refuse to pay.

Elon admitted that he had paid for these users' blue checks out of his own pocket. Is he trolling? Is it a weird simp move? Hard to say.

Now, as of 4/22, a whole mess of famous people have bluechecks who aren't paying for them. This seems to be a move to confound the automated Block The Blue scripts. Lil Nas X is tweeting angrily about how he doesn't want his blue check. People are speculating that a new policy has been silently rolled out to automatically assign a blue check to every user with over 1 million followers. Several people have pointed out that this amounts to false endorsement, i.e. implying falsely that a notable person uses or endorses your product without their permission, which is a crime. Blue checks have been posthumously assigned to Anthony Bourdain and Terry Pratchett, whose estates my money is on to be the ones to actually sue.

dril, famous shitposter and Black The Blue promoter, keeps being assigned a blue check as an apparent punishment for crossing Elon, but you can lose your blue check by changing your display name, so dril just keeps changing his display name every time they bluecheck him. Elon and dril have been engaged in this game of cat and mouse all day. The "Elon bans dril and we all throw trash at him like New Yorkers defending spiderman" meme will probably come to fruition today or tomorrow.

Crítica de ‘The Iron Claw’ – Zac Efron surpreende no drama de wrestling

Apesar de toda a glória do wrestling profissional, uma onda de tragédia lança uma longa sombra. A morte e o crime horrível cometido por Chris Benoit e o acidente que tirou a vida de Owen Hart são apenas dois exemplos num mar de manchetes sombrias. A Vice até fez o seu próprio programa de TV sobre esse aspecto do wrestling, The Dark Side of the Ring. Destas histórias, a história da família Von Erich, cinco irmãos, tempo e tragédia reduzidos a um, deixa um impacto duradouro. Trazer os Von Erichs para a tela grande exige muito tato. É um alívio, então, que The Iron Claw, de A24 e do escritor e diretor Sean Durkin, retransmita a verdadeira história da “Maldição de Von Erich” com grande respeito. Impulsionado por performances transformadoras do seu elenco, The Iron Claw é uma meditação comovente sobre o amor e a fraternidade que permanecerá com o público muito depois de os créditos terem rolado.

Assim que o primeiro Von Erich morre, The Iron Claw atua como uma espécie de acidente de carro cinematográfico em câmara lenta. Ver como os irmãos lidam com a tragédia é de onde vem grande parte da emoção potente. Como novato, o ator Stanley Simons assume muito na sua atuação. Ele faz cara de corajoso e tenta participar do legado da família, mas simplesmente não tem coragem para isso. Uma certa transformação que acontece com Mike exige muita expressão física de Simons. Em ação, é angustiante. Enquanto isso, a estrela de The Bear, Jeremy Allen White, chama a atenção positivamente como um atleta que já foi bem organizado e agora está a desmoronar, ficando furioso e negando o que está a acontecer com a sua família.

Aquele que realmente mantém The Iron Claw à tona em todos os momentos é Zac Efron na performance mais poderosa da sua carreira até agora. Desde o início do filme, o seu intenso amor pelos irmãos fica evidente. É tudo o que ele fala quando conhece Pam, de Lily James. Isso beira a ingenuidade, o seu simples rapaz texano de olhos arregalados, despreparado para a tempestade que está prestes a cair. The Iron Claw vê Kevin de Efron a tentar aguentar com todas as suas forças, tentando manter uma família unida que está fraturada sem possibilidade de reparo. Efron praticamente exige empatia enquanto a tentativa de suprimir todas as emoções possíveis passa pelo seu rosto. Particularmente atraente é o seu relacionamento com Fritz, que de certa forma reflete Whiplash, com a figura do mentor levando o seu aluno além dos seus limites. Só que isso vem com um tipo de estímulo mais reconhecível, em vez do vilão absoluto de J.K. Simmons e em vez de perder amizades, Kevin perde a chance de sofrer.

O cineasta Sean Durkin retrata Kevin como um ser humano preso num pesadelo do qual não consegue acordar. Kevin costuma ser mantido a uma grande distância do espectador em planos abertos, dando a impressão de estar no centro de uma tempestade que parece não parar tão cedo. Sem dúvida, The Iron Claw é uma situação difícil. Às vezes, pode muito bem ser uma marcha da morte, embora altamente convincente. No entanto, faz uma escolha ousada durante o desfecho para permitir a entrada de alguma luz. No final, porém, Durkin e Zac Efron mostram que a cura está próxima. As cicatrizes sempre estarão lá e não será fácil, mas os Von Erichs sobreviventes perseverarão. ── Obrigado, Prongs  ── disse, a voz ainda rouca pela noite anterior. Esfregando a garganta com uma das mãos, Remus inclinou-se e usou a mão livre para abrir a mochila que Remus tinha deixado sobre a mesa. Só pelo tato conseguiu identificar uma das poções de alívio, que rapidamente tirou ali de dentro. Já tinha se medicado, mas suspeitava que uma segunda dose de analgésico mágico não poderia fazer mal.  ── Minha nossa, comprou o festival inteiro? 

Essa era sua maneira de demonstrar que reconhecia o gesto. Sabia que James negaria qualquer agradecimento mais extenso e sabia também que já tinham passado desse ponto há muito tempo, muito embora Remus vivesse sempre com agradecimentos entalados na garganta. 

── Escute, é assim que sei que você é mesmo meu amigo. Poderia ter ficado lá fora e está aqui comigo  ── observou, virando o conteúdo de um dos frascos para dentro da garganta. O calor súbito aliviou um pouco a sensação dolorida em seu peito, mas logo ficou quente demais e Remus precisou levar a mão enfaixada ao peito para apaziguar a sensação de queimação.  ── Na verdade, pensando melhor, talvez seja melhor marcar um psiquiatra pra você.  ── Dando uma risada leve, Remus pegou um dos chocolates de dentro da mochila e começou a abrir a embalagem.  ── Viu mais alguma coisa interessante no caminho? Estou supondo que não encontrou Lily...

Com um simples feitiço murmurado para permitir sua passagem, James afastou a lona que marcava a entrada da barraca que dividiria com os amigos nos próximos dias, uma quantidade generosa de comida ainda quente guardada na mochila que carregava. O interior da tenda era amplo, enfeitiçado para se estender diversas vezes além do que aparentava vista de fora, e equipado com mobiliário aconchegante para abrigá-los confortavelmente nos intervalos entre as incontáveis atrações do evento. A exploração do festival propriamente dito, entretanto, teria que esperar até o dia seguinte, já que James se sentia praticamente moído em seu cansaço pós lua cheia e estava mais do que satisfeito em simplesmente recuperar as energias, que definitivamente precisaria se quisesse aproveitar o restante do Witchella. Sem muitas cerimônias, depositou a mochila sobre a mesa de centro e esparramou-se sobre uma das largas poltronas distribuídas pelo espaço, ao lado do assento ocupado notoriamente por @rxmlpin​. “Trouxe comida suficiente para alimentar um pequeno exército, o que é mais ou menos o que consumimos normalmente depois de uma noite de probleminha peludo. Algumas poções, também, caso precise de algo.” Atencioso com detalhes como era, duvidava que Lupin se esqueceria de tomar suas próprias poções, mas James também sabia que a proximidade da lua cheia deixava Remus mais errático; de toda forma, preferia pecar pelo excesso do que pela falta, especialmente quando seus amigos estavam envolvidos. “Sorte sua que não está zanzando por aí lá fora, Moony. Só no caminho até aqui já fui visualmente escandalizado de umas quinze maneiras diferentes e olha que sou uma pessoa de morais bem flexíveis. Estão levando muito a sério essa história toda de sexo, drogas e rock n’ roll.”

A verdade era que os três jovens responsáveis por Prince eram ótimos guardiões do animal, que davam a vida para fazer um cachorro feliz. "Estranho porque nós namorávamos unilateralmente." Não evitar de rir. "Na minha cabeça era um relacionamento e na dela era um rolo mais sério. Mas acho que foi um problema de comunicação nosso mesmo e deu no que deu." James, no entanto, não guardava mágoa alguma e tampouco pareceu sofrer mais do que uma semana por um relacionamento falido. Tirou o óculos de grau, pressionando a ponte nasal entre os olhos com os dedos em um gesto exagerado. "Lily, você deveria ter me contado isso antes de me pedir em namoro. Casa segundo dessa conversa nosso relacionamento se torna mais insustentável. Insalubre, tá?" James tinha um tato especial para encenações dramáticas. "Pra pilotar só sendo o meu piloto." Cantou no ritmo, estalando os dedos lembrando da melodia da música. "Música foda, tá? Foda!" Fazia questão de salientar como gostava de música. "Não é? O cara tem o molho, o carisma." Deu um gole no seu copo. "Vai, me diz mais alguma coisa que eu preciso muuuito saber."

“Hey!” Lily falou um pouco alto para chamar a atenção de James. Estava com sua câmera em mãos e tirou uma foto dele no momento em que ele virou em sua direção. “Nice party.” Voltou a olhar para a câmera, esperando a foto ficar pronta.
