Swiftwire: Updated Appearance
..... She really needed a fresh new look, due to all the shit she's gone through, and just generally smooth out the rough edges of her lore, which I'll do as part of a full bio later, since it's gonna be a long post.... So I'll just do her main details here for the sake of putting only what's important here. XD But also JUST LOOK AT HER!!! 😭 SHE'S SO BEAUTIFUL!!
This was done by the amazingly talented and legendary Torrent/torrentarts on Tik Tok!! So if you ever see this, THANK YOU AGAIN, HONEY!! >w<
(Also a version of her without her kanga/scarf, her flags or her earring~)
Swiftwire Asya Zahara Mutheru of the Maasai Tribe
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ * ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Her story is still generally the same, but just added a few tweaks to make her blend in better with a more canon aligned world (i.e; Earthspark and a little bit of IDW/Lost Light), but I'll reveal it at a later time, once it's fully fleshed out.
~*~
In short.... Swift is still a former human (originally named Asya Mutheru) that was turned into a Cybertronian, doing so by having her body digested by the Energon within a Cybertronian protoform's hollow spark, burning away her corpse to pluck her soul out and turn it into the spark that brought Swiftwire to life, all thanks to her birth father, Jeremy Omari.
~*~
Personality wise, Swift is still as maternal, goofy, vain but kind, and as flirtatious as ever, and is generally the "Mom Friend with gremlin energy" within any group she finds herself a part of.
~*~
Deep inside her psyche, however.... the monster that Swift's body was supposed to become is still alive.... He's just taking the backseat instead of dominating and controlling the body fully like Swift is now. This is purely because Asya was supposed to die and pass on when her human body became the cadaver powering her spark... But instead, her soul took over and changed the Cybertronian husk into her new body, one that became female presenting instead of male.
~*~
That monster is Talos, a Beastformer designed by Jeremy to take on the appearance of a blue Minotaur Spartan Hoplite soldier in the form of a manmade Transformer.
~*~
Talos's presence is still inside Swift, and only truly comes out when she is angry and starts to "see red". That saying, in her case, is literal, as her eyes change and her jaw elongates to show who is slowly taking over her (as seen in the image above Swift~).
This change is known as 10% Corruption Mode, where Talos takes over only a small part of her and dominates only her face and her instincts. The more of her body that changes, the more the "corruption" reaches 100%. When it reaches that mark, Swift will no longer be in the driver seat of her own body and mind, and both will then be fully under Talos's control.
~*~
Talos and Swift are like Jekyll and Hyde, but instead of them simply sharing a mind, Swift and Talos are both Transformers with their own root and alt-modes, existing in the same body. Talos has his main form (the Spartan Hoplite) and his Beast alt mode (the Minotaur), while Swift has her main form/root mode and her jet alt mode. So Swift isn't really a Triple or a Quadruple-Changer.... Talos exists within her with his own root mode body that takes over Swift's, and her jet form becomes the Minotaur form he transforms into.
~*~
When Talos takes over Swift's body, her frame colour changes from glittery orange to a dark midnight blue, starting from the head and bleeding down her body. It is a painful process each time, as it feels like she is being ripped apart from the inside out, especially when she tries to keep Talos locked inside, but before this happens, the first two things that change are her eyes and her jaw, the 10% Corruption stage....
~*~
Her eyes are always the first to change before the colour of her frame switches. Usually, they are blue with black sclera, and white slit pupils that were once round, before Talos first emerged and forced her to change. They remain slit to this day as a remnant of his presence within her, and so when he emerges.... They turn from white to red. The blue of her irises then vanish into the sea of black of her sclera, making her pupils the only thing that stand out in her eyes, and show that Talos has now taken over her mind.
~*~
The next to change is her face.... Her cheeks bear a line across them that is another permanent remnant of Talos's influence, and so that line opens and forcibly stretches and exposes the metal muscles and sinew that connects her jaw to her skull, but it doesn't damage her jaw or skin in any way. Her cheeks heal every time she returns to normal.
~*~
If the changes progress any further from here and reaches above 40% Corruption, then Swift will be locked inside herself and Talos will fully front without any further resistance, and assume full control over the body. If Swift does manage to resist and stop Talos before reaching 40%, then she can regain control and revert back to her own body.
~*~
If not..... Then her body will fully turn blue, her Seeker form becomes masculine and beefier, and Talos will then stand in his full, armored, Spartan Hoplite form with split-hoof bipedal legs, Swift's dreadlocks now forming the iconic mohawk of his helmet (also turned black and blue in hue) and her wings flat and fused together to act like a cape, with Talos's split-mouthed face hidden in his helmet, as the body now presents itself as his.
~*~
As his Minotaur Beast alt-mode..... The wings and dreadlocks are packed away, and his upper body becomes that of a bull with long, curved horns pointed forwards, a thick silver ring in his snout, and his maw still filled with fangs and his arms bearing Swift's claws... Which become blacker and travel further up her arms the more she allows Talos to take over.
The only way to bring Swift back is to knock Talos unconscious.
~*~
It should also be noted that Swift's height is 17 feet... Talos's main/Spartan form is 25 feet tall, while his Minotaur form is roughly 22 feet. (All using Earthspark heights for comparison)
Also..... This is his voice claim.... Everything he says is canon to what Talos is like and how he speaks to Swift in their shared headspace~

Of course, we already have an established image of Pyrrha in Ever after, but I wanted to make my own version of the armor for her. And yes, I took Malenia's helmet, but the armor itself was inspired by Ornstein from Dark souls. And since she no longer has a Spartan motif, she is now a Bronze Guardian, which is a reference to Talos - a bronze automaton that guarded the island of Crete, which had a weakness in the form of a nail in the ankle. And as for the story of this Pyrrha, during the battle on the Bacon tower, Jaune flew in on a locker there and managed to detain Cinder long enough for Ruby to arrive, but unfortunately Jaune himself did not survive. After Pyrrha goes through her journey with NPR and RWBY, but in the Atlas Pyrrha manages to detain Cinder and Neo on the bridge and transfer the relics to the Vacuum, and she falls into Everafter and plucks the clock fruit, after which she meets Jaune from the original timeline.
The idea of time lines that fit on top of each other in Everafter was taken from the same Dark souls, where, as in Everafter, time twists into a spiral, which is why the same events can intertwine into a knot, and people from different eras are able to meet.

Like the author Pressfield you mentioned i also read a book called "the shield of sparta" by valerio massimo manfredi. He tells the tale of two Spartan brothers: Brithos, the elder of the two, a strong and healthy boy and Talos, a crippled and weak. Because of the rigorous Spartan laws, Talos must be sacrificed to the wolves of Mount Taygetus as his physical weakness would not permit him to help the military city of Sparta during its many wars. However, the young Talos miraculously survives. Nobody would have imagined that the two brothers would ever meet again and even less so that they would meet on a battlefield.
The story was interesting to read and had also a mystical vide with mythology and priestesses. Also it was accurate in describing the life of ancient Sparta, since the author is also an archaeologist. A good example of retellings that respect the source material. ☺️
Oooh I don't know about that! I will put it in the recommendations tag, if everyone agrees! Hopefully he did some good research there! How was it a retelling? Of what story?

MQ: Imbros the Parched
Once again my formatting is MIA... dreamwidth is looking like more and more of an option. Anyway, Kassandra and the first non-Talos the Stone First mercenary (incidentally, the first mercenary I ran into as well, and ranked only one higher than me at the time)!
-
In Kassandra's defense, she had meant to head back to Barnabas and the Adrestia as soon as she was done in Megaris. Nikolaos was out of the picture and his helmet weighed heavily in her sack, and while he wasn't dead the Spartans--and second General Stentor in particular--didn't actually know that. The sooner she was out of Megaris and away from the potential arrowstorm from an angry phalanx, the better.
But the young farmer had a contract, and it was well ingrained in her to never turn down a contract, no matter how small. On Kephallonia any amount of drachmae was not just useful but could make the difference between eating for the next week or scrounging for scraps, and while the farmer didn't have much to offer by way of coin he had given her a few vegetables and strips of dried meat, with a small note and a promise of payment from the merchant she was delivering the letter to.
If that meant skirting the border with Boeotia and her fearsome military, then Kassandra would just have to expand and expound on her stealth abilities.
A day later she was heading back towards Megaris, a few hundred drachmae richer and belly stuffed with dinner from a grateful merchant. Much of Hellas was in turmoil, but there were still some towns and cities that had avoided the worst of Eris' touch and had some plenty to share with weary travellers and skilled mercenaries. (Taking care of that pack of wolves on the way in hadn't hurt her initial meeting with the locals, either.)
Another few hours would bring her within sight of Panoramos, and hopefully the Adrestia would still be at anchor. Barnabas had said his life--and ship, and crew--were at her beck and call, but just bringing her to Megaris was more than most captains that sailed by Kephallonia would do to even the debt. For him to stick around this long would be unimaginable. With the sun beating down hot overhead and only sparse shade along the road, Kassandra whistled for Ikaros and settled down under a small copse. "Break time," she crooned as the eagle settled on her raised knee, chirping at her before taking off to find his own prey. The loaf of bread and handful of figs didn't make a substantial meal, but it was more than enough to keep her going until Panoramos. And resting for a while wouldn't hurt. It would be easier to enter Megaris in general and Panoramos in particular after dark, when most of the Spartan forces would be resting and those awake on guard wouldn't be able to see as far. Not that they were any equal to her sight at their best, and with Ikaros flying above they didn't stand a chance.
If the Adrestia was still there, getting to her during the night would be easiest, even if they waited until sunrise to depart. And if she wasn't... sneaking through Panoramos towards Megara would still be easiest at night. The part of her that had been trained from birth for warfare called for blood, to fight her way through the Spartan camp and shower the ground with red. But the rest of her--who grew up under Markos' spotty guardianship, who had to learn how to play nice, make friends, negotiate, and keep her head down just to survive--prioritized safe travel over violence.
Ikaros landed arms length away, a small rodent clutched in his talons as he tore into it. Kassandra smiled at him, ripping off another piece of bread with her teeth. "Such a swift hunter, Ikaros." He chirped at her again, acknowledging her compliment before returning to his meal.
Moving around the copse of trees to the side away from the road and mostly hidden, Kassandra reclined on an elbow and gazed over the landscape. Megaris was in ruins closer to the beachhead, but up here in the foothills was largely untouched. Almost peaceful. The sun was warm on her skin, Ikaros was keeping watch nearby, and she actually had a mostly full stomach for the first time in weeks. It was the perfect opportunity for a nap.
She awoke to Ikaros' screech near her ear, the brush of feathers over her face. Kassandra snapped upright, grabbing for her broken spear as she landed in a crouch, Ikaros leaping up to settle on her shoulder, wings flared and talons digging into the armour there. She started to scan the area, ready for danger--and stopped.
A fire had been built to ward off the incoming darkness of night, though the sun still sat low in the sky. Across from Kassandra crouched an armoured man, the chestplate of a different design and age from the pteurges and the bracers. His head was shaved and, overall, he looked like he had spent the last few years on the road, living off the land. But the armour was well tended and clean, and the sword at his side was clearly recently cleaned.
"....misthios," the man greeted, poking the fire before settling down to roast what looked like a small gamebird over the fire.
Kassandra eyed him, debating whether or not to leave... but it wouldn't hurt to talk to someone more familiar with the land. "Mercenary."
"Imbros," he offered. "That's a beautiful eagle."
"...Kassandra," she greeted and stored away the broken spear as she finally sat down, Ikaros shifting his weight to accommodate her movements. Might as well double check this... Imbros hadn't stolen anything before she took off. She could still make it to Panoramos before sunrise if she left in the next few hours. "This is Ikaros."
Ikaros squawked once, then set to preening her hair, tugging strands out of her braid. Kassandra let him; ages ago she'd tried to stop him, but that just made him more determined.
Imbros nodded, turning the bird on its spit. "So. You new around here?"
"From Kephallonia," Kassandra replied, rustling through her sack. Nikolaos' helmet was still there--the most important thing in the bag--and everything else she'd collected since Elpeanor had shown his face. Including the food. Ah, the food. Not much drink left, though she hadn't left the town with much in her wineskein to start. "Just landed before the Spartan and Athenian battle in Megaris."
Imbros hummed in recognition. "Aaaah, so you were the Mercenary the Spartans hired. We heard about the battle and came to offer our services, but by the time we arrived it was already over."
"For Sparta, or Athens?"
Imbros eyed her warily. "We are Mercenaries. Does it matter?"
Well... no. For all that she was Spartan by birth, Kassandra hadn't felt Spartan in years. Not since Taygetos. She hummed noncommittally, and then, "We? You travel with other mercenaries?" The only other she'd had experience with was Talos the Stone Fist, and the general policy there was avoid at all costs.
He nodded, picking at the meat to check doneness before returning it to the fire. "Occasionally. I'm new to being a Mercenary too, so it's easier to follow a more experienced misthios. But I'm getting better. Almost good enough to take bounties on my own." He stared her down, and for one brief moment Kassandra worried. Nikolaos had left the Spartan camp but at least she had held herself back from killing him. Surely Stentor wouldn't have put a bounty on her if there was no body, no death?
But then he shrugged, returning to cooking the gamebird. "Those who survived say you fought like ten men, killed or wounded many more."
To boast or to be demure? "On Kephallonia, there was only enough jobs--and space--for two mercenaries. We had to be good." And now there were none. Maybe she could suggest that to Imbros, get him out of the Peloponnese (and out of her hair)?
Imbros nodded slowly. "There's more room here, though, more jobs. More mercenaries to compete with. You were good before, but are you good enough to rise in the Tiers?"
Tiers... implying a ranking system. Talos had been older, more experienced, and she had partially modelled her way of finding contracts and getting work after his methods coupled with what actually worked on Kephallonia for a child from the sea and raised by a professional conman. If there was any sort of ranking system there, Kassandra supposed Talos would have been above her. There hadn't been, though. It was first-come first-served for all jobs and no one particularly valued one misthios over the other when it came to who would take the job.
A ranking system meant there was some kind of formality to it, an organization or structure or rules that mainland Mercenaries followed. She'd never been particularly good at rules--fighting, finding, protecting, yes, but rules? Yet... if she wanted to actually earn a living doing Mercenary work, she'd probably have to at least try.
Barnabas seemed to know his way around Hellas. Maybe he knew some of these structures and rules.
Something must have shown on her face, as Imbros started chuckling as he pulled the gamebird out of the flames and started picking at it. "Having second thoughts?"
Kassandra snorted, reclining onto one elbow. "Trying to figure out these... Tiers."
"Make a Name for yourself, and you're in. Every time a Mercenary ranked higher gets taken out by injury, illness or death, everyone below them moves up. Move up enough and you get bumped into a higher Tier, gain some notoriety, get some perks."
"Get more people after me."
Imbros chuckled around a mouthful. "Only if you kill people in broad daylight."
"Ah, so rule number one: be subtle when I kill people," Kassandra retorted.
"Or just... don't. Unless there's a bounty?"
"Difficult to complete a kill bounty without actually killing someone."
Ikaros chirred briefly, nudging the side of her head with his beak before taking off with a single powerful sweep of his wings. Kassandra and Imbros watched him soar into the sunset for a moment, but then she pushed herself up to her feet. "Well, time to go find a contract."
"You're... not staying here for the night?" The other novice Mercenary shifted, putting one foot flat on the earth as if to stand. "You're travelling in the dark? Where are you heading?"
Kassandra took the time to eye him, now, stretching her arms above her head and making no effort to disguise her appraisal. Travelled before with at least one other Mercenary, could have made it to the next town with only another hour of travel but stopped when he stumbled across her, admitted to being new to this line of work, was clearly nervous.... "I'm back to Panoramos, to meet with a... friend." Or close enough, anyway.
Now Imbros was on his feet, kicking dirt onto the fire as he shoved the last of the gamebird into his mouth and the carcass and spit into the copse nearby. "Panoramos? But that... why did you come out here if you're just going back to Megaris?"
"Because a contract I took brought me out here," which she thought was rather obvious, especially for a fellow Mercenary. You go where you need to, even if it takes you out of your way. Or, technically she could make it to Phokis overland if she just kept going North-West, but between the fighting, Boeotia's forces, the bandits, and the wild animals, there was no telling how long it would take her to get there. If she survived the trip at all.
His brows were furrowed and now that there was nothing to occupy his hands with, Imbros was wringing them, glancing between Kassandra and the road towards Panoramos... and then trailing back, focusing briefly on the road away from Panoramos before focusing on her again. He opened his mouth as if to speak, then snapped it closed, repeating the pattern of Kassandra-Panoramos road-Boeotia road.
She rolled her eyes, digging in her sack for a loaf of bread and something to drink. The bread was quick to hand, but all she had for liquid was the wineskein, and she wasn't about to give that up. "Look, Imbros--take this, and some dried figs, they should get you through. Another hour or so towards Boeotia is a small town, lots of friendly people. Ask if they need help--there was at least one huntress who mentioned that her sister was recently widowed, they could probably use another pair of hands--make friends. They'll give you room and board if you help out until you decide to move on. Are you any good at hunting? There's packs of wolves around that need clearing out. And be careful not to get too close to Boeotia's borders, the warriors there don't exactly like Mercenaries."
He was outwardly gaping at her as Kassandra shoved the bread and figs into his hands. Okay, time to head off before she actually felt responsible for him. "Safe travels, good hunting. And, uh, sorry for the lack of drink. I only have the one wineskein."
"Oh, no, it's... fine," he muttered, visibly shaking himself from his reverie and running one hand over his mostly bald head. "Uh, safe travels to you, too."
Kassandra waved over her shoulder and whistled for Ikaros, sending him scouting ahead even as she remained in the here-and-now. "Until we next meet, Imbros."
She was almost at the next bend in the road when hurried footsteps came up behind her. To absolutely no surprise, the other Mercenary greeted her when she turned to check. "Wait--Kassandra--" He gulped down a breath, then held out a small wooden token with rows of characters on it. "For Mercenaries. It's not a contract, but in Megara, there's a Temple. Mercenaries gather there."
Oh, she knew that Temple well. There was one less Mercenary that was likely to visit, now.
"Take it, show it to whichever Mercenary is there. If--if you want, they'll take you under their guidance," and at seeing her sneer at the idea, "Or--it will work as an introduction between you."
She didn't really need to go to Megara. But it was the largest city, so if Barnabas hadn't waited it was the best place to find a captain who might be willing to take her... even if it meant crossing the Diokoles. And if she was there anyway.... Imbros was new, and clearly still finding his feet. Maybe a more senior--no, a higher ranking, higher Tiered Mercenary--would no doubt have a better grasp of the rules.
"Fine," but she took the token with greater gentleness than her tone of voice implied. "...thank you."
"No, no," he waved her off, "Thank you," and he was back up the road, heading to Boeotia at a speed that would get him to the town well within the hour if he kept up the pace.
Kassandra hid beside a boulder and followed him with Ikaros' eyes, marking Imbros in their combined mental map. She waited until he was well away before returning to her own body, standing and stretching again. If she moved as quickly as Imbros was, she'd be to Panoramos before midnight, and on the Adrestia not too much later. By then, the other Mercenary should be well ensconced in the border town and hopefully getting into his cups and forgetting all about her presence. And name. And Ikaros.
The eagle chirped above her to signal he had caught up again, and then she was off. To Phokis, to Elpeanor... to the Truth.

The ancient Greeks clearly understood the concept of autonomous machines. They had "Talos" and an early version of the Steam Engine. Also, we have very very few actual sources about the Helots, just that they existed, and were part of the Spartan property system. They might have been a breed of domesticated animal, like Heifers. They might have been machines. It's pure speculation that they were human beings with moral agency and rights.
Hey man, I ain’t mad. I kinda like your shtick, at least in small doses; it can be funny to watch Tumblr try and totally fail to figure out how to respond to someone with your level of shamelessness. But I don’t buy for a nanosecond that it isn’t an act.

Wettbewerb: Unser Erbe vom Antiken Griechenland
Ich meine – was soll’s?
Marlon Brando
Was zählt, ist

Welche „Vorbilder“ verdienen Millionen in unserer Gesellschaft?

I’m having a kinda meh day so I’m gonna ramble about some shippy stuff for my characters a bit.
I don’t think I’ve posted much about what makes Arth and Ragnar’s relationship tick, and I’ve been thinking about it for a while so I probably need to Do That. They’re kind of an odd couple, but they get each other on a very deep level and have been through some shit. Their relationship survives the revelation that Arth used to be Thalmor and has been lying about his past, as well as Ragnar’s remaining family members giving him the cold shoulder because they don’t approve of him shacking up with an elf.
Their initial meeting was tense. Arth was a newcomer, a stranger in town, not even really sure he would stick around yet, and he went searching for a specific plant for alchemical purposes. While he did find the plant in the woods, he also found himself staring at the tip of an arrow, a surly-looking Nord holding the bow. And that’s how he discovered there was a hunter named Ragnar who lived alone like a hermit and didn’t appreciate people trespassing on his territory.
Their next few encounters were brief and awkward, as Arth got a job at the tavern and Ragnar occasionally came in to get a drink. Arth just assumed that like most other “traditional” type Nords, Ragnar didn’t care for elves, especially since he’d ticked the man off by blundering onto his turf, and even though Ragnar never stated such Arth was nervous around him. This went on for a couple months, until one day Arth realized that Ragnar had not come in for his usual drink and further investigation revealed he’d been missing for two days. No one really knew where to start looking, since Ragnar avoided people and had no close friends, so Arth took it upon himself to use the Clairvoyance spell and find him.
This led him quite a ways from Falkreath, to the shore of Lake Ilinalta near a secluded Talos shrine. Ragnar was unconscious by the water’s edge, having been waylaid by bandits who, for some reason or another, neglected to kill him. The arrival of a fierce storm prompted Arth to drag Ragnar to a small cave nearby, where he administered healing spells and kept the Nord warm with his own body heat as well as a makeshift fire. He pondered why he had decided to do such an uncharacteristic thing all the while, since it went against his philosophy of self-preservation, and realized he felt a strange kinship with a fellow outcast.
When Ragnar woke up things got really awkward. He was sore and unsteady and ashamed that he needed saving, bewildered as to why an elf would go so far to help him, but he managed a gruff thanks and admitted that ever since the Great War, in which he had fought as a Legionnaire, he felt suspicious and uneasy around elves. He then apologized for judging Arth unfairly. They went back to Falkreath together and acted more relaxed around each other from then on, to the point of greeting one another on a first name basis and readily conversing during Ragnar’s visits to the tavern.
THEN there was the followup incident where Ragnar lost a bet with another Nord, losing a family heirloom in the process, and Arth challenged the winner to a drinking contest to get it back. He won, but ended up staying the night at Ragnar's place due to how utterly wasted he was. Not exactly a date, but it did serve to bring them a bit closer.
As for what made them fall in love… It started slowly, since they’re both cautious when it comes to feelings. On Ragnar’s part, at first he felt guilty and like he owed Arth for what happened, but then while attempting to pay the debt he figured out he genuinely liked the guy rather than just caring about the debt and his own honor. Instead of being annoyed with Arth’s tendency to be nervous and dorky he found it endearing; he’s also aware of Arth’s insecurities regarding his appearance and doesn’t find him unattractive at all. Basically, his taste in men pretty much encompasses a lot of what Arth is. And he may act like a stoic loner, but Ragnar is actually pretty sensitive and loves having another sensitive soul to bond with.
Arth means well and has a good heart but he can be difficult to deal with at times due to past trauma destabilizing his mental state. This is also something Ragnar understands, the whole reason behind him being a hermit is that when he came back from the war he was so tormented and chaotic no one really knew how to handle him and he’s been lowkey regarded as the local crazy guy ever since. He’s learned to deal with his own demons, mostly, but Arth is still learning and struggles with addiction to the things he uses for coping. Ragnar won’t deny him those things, but neither will he let Arth ruin himself because of them. It’s a lot of patience, empathy and teaching.
Arth may look kinda rugged but he loves comfort and his personality is neither overly masculine or feminine, falling somewhere in the middle. This contrasts with Ragnar, who tends to be “manly” and has been living in a Spartan fashion for years. They get on well when they decide to live together, though, since Arth has been spoiling Ragnar with epicurean sensibilities for a while and they end up obtaining a house that’s more ergonomic than Ragnar’s cabin.
Also, they’re very romantic with each other to the point where one is rarely seen without the other in public unless Ragnar is out hunting or Arth is running his own errands. It's weird for Ragnar at first since he used to be so solitary but once he gets used to Arth being a constant presence, he wants to keep that closeness. And as for Arth, he was a loner in his own fashion before -- always keeping people at arm's length despite being friendly, lots of secrets to hide -- so he delights in having someone so familiar with him, who wants to be part of his life. They're both weary and worn in their own ways and they find solace in each other, some small measure of peace together.
the only really big threat to their relationship is Arth having kept quiet about his past as a Thalmor, and eventually his own guilt gnaws enough at him to fray his sanity a bit and he just blurts everything out to Ragnar in a self-destructive nervous frenzy. naturally this is..... Not well received on Ragnar's part and they separate for about a week, during which Ragnar takes to the wilderness to hunt and think things over by himself and Arth starts planning to skip town because he's so ashamed and grieving. But Ragnar returns from the wild with a fresh perspective and, while he's upset he's been lied to, he understands why it happened. They don't split but they do spend a while learning to trust again, with Arth working on his honesty and Ragnar dealing with remains of his old antipathy toward elves (which becomes an issue because he's got cousins and other relatives who find out he's living with an elf and act like it's ludicrous).
There's a lot more but im on mobile and I can't think of much more at the moment, haha.

2. Who is your favorite Roman emperor?: Marcus Aurelius. No, he wasn’t perfect, and he made some terrible decisions (e.g. naming his worthless son Commodus as his heir). But his “Meditations” is one of my favorite works of literature from antiquity. You can sense the inner struggle between his desire to be a wise, peaceful philosopher-king in the Platonic/Stoic mold and the practical necessity to be forever at war, fending off the barbarian incursions that were destabilizing the Pax Romana. (And that’s not getting into the horrendous plague that struck the Empire during his reign, or the fact that one of his trusted lieutenants, Avidius Cassius, betrayed him and tried to usurp the throne.)
9. What are your top five OTPs?: Crates and Hipparcheia; Julius Caesar and Cleopatra VII; Odysseus and Penelope; Orpheus and Eurydice; Hero and Leander
17. If you could recover one lost work, what would it be?
Greek: Any of the philosophical treatises of Chrysippus of Soli, but especially the περὶ καθηκόντων (”On Appropriate Actions”). Chrysippus was a tremendously prolific author and incisive thinker who laid the groundwork for all subsequent Stoic thought, but his works survive only in fragments preserved by later authors, some of whom (e.g. Plutarch and Galen) are overtly anti-Stoic, and hence present a very distorted picture of Chrysippus’ views.
Latin: Ovid’s Medea. Not only would I love to see how Ovid tackled drama, but it would give us something besides Seneca to draw upon in evaluating tragedy of the Roman Empire.
18. What is your favorite movie or TV show set in ancient Greece or Rome?
Serious answer: “Jason and the Argonauts” (1963). It may be over fifty years old, but no film since has done as good a job of capturing the sheer wonder and awe of Greek myth. And Ray Harryhausen’s stop-motion animation is *phenomenal*. (Highlights: Jason’s battle with the skeleton warriors and the appearance of Talos.)
Fun answer: “The Giant of Marathon” (1959), an Italian/French “sword and sandal” movie starring Steve “Hercules” Reeves. As the title suggests, it’s ostensibly about the Battle of Marathon, but it’s so relentlessly unhistorical that it makes “300″ look like a BBC documentary. Check out the Spartan cavalry who inexplicably save the day! (For the MST3K fans out there: “Giant” was riffed by Mike, Kevin, and Bill during their short-lived stint as The Film Crew. It’s a riot.)
20. What do you love most about studying classics?: The challenge of understanding a world that’s both the recognizable ancestor of our own and also profoundly different.

Swiftwire Mutheru Bio- 2023 ver.
(Original template made by @stuckedwithstarscream, hopefully this will help me not make a SUPER LONG post about Swift for once. ;3; She deserves a proper bio. Original BLANK template can be found here: How to Build a Cybertronian)
Name?
Swiftwire Asya Zahara Mutheru of the Terran Maasai Tribe (Goes by Swift) [She/Her]
2. Age Level? (How long did your character exist?)
Young by Cybertronian standards, so to avoid suspicion Swift will usually claim to be 40 thousand years old, when really she's (currently) 45 in human years.
3. Alternative-Form/Vehicle Mode? (What´s the vehicle/animal they can transform to?)
An S-35 jet, which she most likely believes was stolen to make her body. She is unable to scan for a different jet for her alt-form due to her not having the scanning ability.
4. Where do they come from?
She was originally born in the far north of Maine in America, but has since rejected her birth nationality due to her past and considers herself a Maasai-Kenyan instead (her mother's nationality). She now lives in Vos on Cybertron and calls herself a Terran for simplicity’s sake.
5. Faction?
Autobot, but became neutral after she left her old job as a politician, scratching out her sigil upon belly plate as a symbol of her good faith but proof of her neutrality. She still wears it in memory of her adoptive father, Borealis.
6. Caste?
Mid-High Class: Post-War Politician turned Ombudswoman, but mostly works as an artist for income.
7. Personality traits?
Swift is entirely driven by her moral compass and instinctually follows her heart/spark over her mind, which has often led to her being a bit of an overbearing Mama Bear. However, when she isn't being the Mom Friend, she's usually dazzling the crowd and being a slightly vain “prima donna” the moment she enters a room. From her sparkly orange frame to her colourful Kenyan jewellery, Swift simply adores the spotlight and will happily help and support those she believes deserve to feel it too. Her lack of stage-fright also aids in her being all too happy to advocate for those who cannot voice their problems. Which is why she became an Ombudswoman of the Iacon Council after she quit her old job as a politician representing Vos, due to the racism and bullying she faced from the other Senators.
However, behind the loving, fanged smile hides a deeply rooted shame for what she is and the original purpose for her creation... which is why she is content to have lost her humanity over her sense of agency, even at such a hefty and traumatizing price.
(It's also worth noting that Swift is bilingual and will use any given chance to slip in a word or two of her native tongue, oftentimes calling those she cherishes "mpenzi" or darling, her catchphrase every time for everyone's nickname from her.)
8. What did they do before and during the civil war/War for Cybertron?
(Warning, this is a LONG read, so TL;DR: Swift used to be a human named Asya, but became a cyborg Cybertronian when she was killed to become the battery powering the spark of a reverse engineered protoform. If TALOS had won and Asya died at the hands of her own father, then she would have become Talos Alpha, a mechanical Hoplite or Spartan designed to kill all Cybertronians living on Earth, a dream Jeremy was determined to complete due to his hatred for the alien race, to finally gain his "perfect soldier". By sheer willpower or blind luck, Asya's soul held on and she lived to become Swiftwire, at the cost of her family.)
During the final few years of the Cybertronian war, Swift was originally a human on Earth, an eighteen year old at the time, named Asya Mutheru. Her loving mother, Gasira Mutheru, fell gravely ill and victim to the neglect of Asya's abusive father, Jeremy Omari, who was the head of a scientific-military division known simply as TALOS. He sent Asya away to a military boarding school the moment she was of age, forcing her to stay and be deployed as a soldier abroad, even after her mother died and had a funeral that Asya was forbidden to attend by her father to ensure she focused only on her studies and deployment. After serving her ten years and becoming a commissioned Sergeant, Asya left the army and returned home, now in her late twenties, and confronted her father for the cruelty he put his only child and baby-trapped wife through, before she came out as a transwoman during a shouting match. Their verbal fight quickly became physical and it ended with her beaten, bruised, scarred over one eye, and abandoned in a snowy forest to bleed to death.
That was when she met and was rescued by Borealis the White Wolf (Bori for short) and his fellow pack of Maximals; Minerva the Deer, who patched Asya up and taught her how to be wise and maternally kind, Artemis the Hound, who taught Asya how to defend herself physically and verbally while also teaching her the true meaning of loyalty, the slightly insane Beetlevise the Stag Beetle who taught her how to be silly and have fun by simply being herself around those she trusts, and Azure the Peacock, a proud mech who adored his appearance and eagerly helped Asya through her transition into a woman, and taught her how to love and be proud of herself and her accomplishments, no matter how small of a step forward they were.
They soon became her family, with Borealis treating Asya like a daughter while the rest of the pack became her aunts and uncles, who were soon joined by a pair of Decepticons who originally kidnapped Asya to trap the Maximal refugees as prisoners of war… Only to befriend Asya due to their similarities and learning that life could be better without the threat to their lives by their warlord. Those two Cons soon joined the pack, with Knockout becoming their medic alongside Minerva, and his Conjunx Breakdown becoming their scout and protector. And due to their similarities, Asya fell in love with both Knockout and Breakdown and began a romantic relationship with them both, forming her first polycule~
However, when the Cybertronian war was announced to have finally ended, Asya was kidnapped and imprisoned by TALOS on the orders of her father, who planned on using her as a battery for the spark of his life's work... Project Talos Alpha, the mythological robot of his obsession made real through stolen Cybertronian body parts and technology, including a vat of Energon supposedly from the Well of the Allspark. Determined to finally be rid of his runt of a child, he shot her three times but only grazed her arm and leg, while the third bullet cut open her head from the temple along the side, before he finally shoved into the vat in frustration at failing to kill her yet again and sealed it.
Swift still remembers the burning pain of her body melting and breaking apart, of seeing the world vanishing into a black void as silver liquid metal engulfed her, then nothing. It wasn't until Bori's voice woke her up, allowing her first memory with new eyes to be meeting the gaze of the wolf she loved as a father, sensing something imprinting within her as her own eyes turned blue, and her large, silver hands breaking the vat that held her as she spilled at the feet of her father and her maker. Instead of a first breath, her transformation from a blank, smooth silver shell into a newborn Seeker came with a scream and the ripping of metal flesh to make way for wings and wire dreadlocks. The moment she gained claws for hands, she used them to kill her maker and the one who caused the most pain in her life, the taste of copper still lingering on her tongue when she suddenly awoke back home with her Maximal family with no memory of when she passed out... But from what Bori told everyone, all Swift could apparently see was red, and nothing could stop the hunt until silence and human blood filled the empty halls of TALOS.
Her old life as a human, alongside Jeremy's lifetime of work, was now dead and gone, her body nothing but a cadaver with its soul still bound to it, hidden deep within the spark of a handmade Cybertronian Seeker, with all her scars transferred over during the experimental process of her growth, both the physical and the mental kind.
9. Did they experience a moment of great tragedy or trauma that haunts them?
The final attempt on her life from TALOS still haunts her to this day... For even after she embraced her identity as Swiftwire, since she finally looked feminine and had the defining features she always yearned for on the body she wanted as a woman, her past was still chasing after her to take away everything she worked hard to gain.
Only a few months after Asya became Swiftwire and finally learned how to walk and get used to her new height and needs as a Transformer, Beetlevise reported strange readings all around the mountain and underground cave they called their base and home, signals that were the same kind used by the technology created by TALOS. Before Bori could order Artemis to track where the signals were coming from, the tunnels leading to the central command room erupted in a fiery explosion, sending rock, metal shrapnel and flames everywhere. One by one, each pack member helped Swift get to the entrance of the cave before they each fell to the crumbling rock, fire and the explosions of the bombs hidden throughout the cave, before it was only her, Borealis and Beetlevise left alive.
When Swift and Beetle made it outside, the Seeker saw Bori holding up a fallen boulder that would have crushed them had he not stopped it, the flames of the cave slowly spreading behind him. Swift pleaded for him to let them help, but as the fire began to burn through Bori’s fur and he started to struggle against the weight of the boulder above him, her father simply smiled and told Beetle,
“Take her to the stars for me, brother. Our home deserves her spark.”
The flames vanished when the boulder fell and created a rocky avalanche, sealing the cave and their pack’s fate inside. The last thing Swift remembers of that day, and the same moment that haunts her dreams years later, was the sound of her own voice screaming as she pulled against Beetle’s firm grip to reach for the cave, her words echoing the entire forest as she wailed for her father,
“YOU PROMISED YOU’D STAY, BABA!! YOU PROMISED!!”
10. Did they experience a moment of great joy that´s still in their memory as a precious moment?
The happiest moment from her past was the day she had her first sparkling, and forming her now massive family of four spouses and eight kids… (Beware, another long one... there's a LOT of kids...)
Believing that she was infertile due to her being made by human hand, Swift’s dream of becoming a mother lingered in the back of her mind for the first few years she started living on Cybertron with her Conjunxes, Knockout and Breakdown, even more so after rescuing a teenaged Seeker named Conduit from surviving in the ruins of the Hydrax Plateau and adopting him as her son. In a twist of fate, after Conduit settled into his new life and began training under his fathers to become a medic like them, Swift and Knockout shared a moment together in a field of cobalt flowers to escape the chaos of their busy lives. A month later, the two found a second spark growing in Swift’s chamber, and Swift has never screamed as loudly with excitement and tearful joy as she did then. They named the little spark Sira, in memory of Swift's mother, Gasira.
However, when she was only in the middle of her second trimester, Swift suddenly felt a horrible pain as she began to bleed rivers of Energon from between the plates, her entire chest breaking apart plate piece by cracked plate piece. Conduit rushed her to the hospital where Knockout and Breakdown helped to deliver their daughter, but found that she was born without vocal cords, but was otherwise healthy for such a premature baby. And yet… For three full minutes after that, Swiftwire flatlined and became grey. When she returned to life thanks to Conduit’s electrical power shocking her very spark back to full brightness, Swift was left with permanent chronic pain and a scar of thin, lightning-like cracks all over her chest plates…. And the news that she would most likely never be able to have children again.
That was… Until she met Elbent and Verglaust (@tigracespace's OCs). After the miscarriage of Elbent’s firstborn child, Firefly, Swift began to use her political position to help the tiny Grounder in her research to bring back fertility to all Cybertronians, not just because she had fallen for Elbent… But because she too had miscarried a child she never even knew she had, one she named Hyacinth, who she lost only a week before she met Conduit. After that, the two couples became a married polycule that welcomed Ferrous and Indicolite into their family, making the headcount of kids add up to four. Many more came along through Elbent, Knockout and Breakdown as they played the role of the carrier to each child…
For after the twins from Verglaust and Elbent, Swift and Verglaust had Bori, a grey and turquoise dire wolf Beastformer that Knockout was the surrogate carrier to.
Then, after discovering that a child could carry up to four traits of CNA, Elbent became the carrier to hers, Knockout’s and Breakdown’s daughter equally, naming her Alexandrite after her purple frame that bore the blend of their three colours, before another colourful child was born between Elbent, Knockout and Swift; Empyrean, a spoiled brat of a daughter due to her sunrise ombre colours adding to the flawless beauty inherited from her sires, including Swift’s dreadlocks.
Finally, after begging her medically worried spouses, mostly Knockout due to his mother hen instincts, to stop worrying about her and allow her to simply try after all these years… Swift worked together with Verglaust and Breakdown to be the carrier of their final triple-CNA child, a white and blue dragon Beastformer named Grimfrost.
(In case you're stumped and need a recap of all the kids.... In the order of eldest to youngest: Conduit, Sira, Ferrous and Indicolite, Borealis, Alexandrite, Empyrean and Grimfrost) 11. Is your character able to drive a spaceship? Where did they learned it?
No, simply due to Swift having a jet form that’s able to traverse the depths of space easily. But she does take a ship when visiting other planets, simply due to how exhausting it is flying in lightyears by herself.
12. Did your character met one of the Cybertronian leaders? What were their thoughts about for example Optimus Prime or Sentinel Prime?
For a short time, she worked alongside Rodimus when he first became Prime, helping to finalize the details for the new council of Cybertron and attending the same congress meetings as him about the mundane issues across the planet, now that it was settling into a peaceful new era. But, she saw him less and less as he began his plans for his quest, his thirst for adventure and a legacy driving him out of the role of a political leader and into the spotlight of a celebrity seeking a legend. She does miss their playful banter and exchange in past-life stories of their shared experiences on Earth sometimes, but like Rodimus with the crew of the Lost Light, she found her life's meaning in her frame paintjob and canvas art studio, A Touch of Terra, and has never regretted leaving her old job since.
As for the more famous names... No, she has never met Optimus or Megatron or any other past Prime. But she has learned to hate the face behind the emblem she still wears due to the war doing more harm than good.
13. Best Friend(s)?
After marrying Knockout and Breakdown, it was originally Rodimus before he left Cybertron. Then it became Elbent and Verglaust before they formed a polyfidelity married group, or a polycule strictly between all five of them.
Beyond her family, Swift is close to her surviving uncle Beetlevise and is doing her best to befriend Elbent's friends, Nicole and Drillburst.
14. Greatest Enemie(s)?
Her birth father, Jeremy Omari, and all those who survived her mad slaughter of the TALOS group.
15. Preferred weapons?
Her Seeker claws, her fangs and her dreadlocks. Her dreadlocks have the ability to stretch to unmeasurable lengths and move like snakes, just like Medusa's hair, due to the fact that they're wires coated in a soft, rubbery casing that are connected to her brain. It takes only three of them to lift her up off the ground, and oftentimes she uses that ability to prank others by crawling up to the ceiling and popping down suddenly while hanging upside down. When used in fighting, they can be shot like javelins when kept straight, or like whips when allowing them to bend and move freely. Her main heavy attack is often an aerial one using her dreadlocks, where she will fly in jet form as high as she can go, then go back into her root/bot form and spin in either a curled up (Sonic the Hedgehog) ball or in a circle while standing as she falls back down, becoming a circular saw capable of cutting through armor if she has enough momentum and speed. Another ability they have, due to the Talos Alpha Project's design, is their ability to tap into any and all forms of technology with a computer or terminal, with each dreadlock bearing a port key of every known piece of technology Swift has seen in her lifetime... including the brains of Transformers. The last time she used this ability was when Conduit was kidnapped by protestors who demanded that Swift be removed from her seat in the council. After finding and capturing a protestor, Swift pierced his eye and searched his memories for where they hid her baby boy, lobotomizing him into a frozen but conscious state where his bodily functions were still working but he would be trapped in his own mind, unable to speak or move forever.
Out of guilt from the Mama Bear anger that drove her to such cruelty, Swift tried to destroy the dreadlock that bore the psychic patch needle, but found that if she had succeeded and damaged the interior of the dreadlock, she would suffer major brain damage and possibly die from the shock of the pain it would bring her... so now, under her full mop of dreadlocks, there is one with a tip that is black from fire damage, a dreadlock she has since sworn never to use again.
16. Do they have a team, a partner, or someone that´s often with them?
The entire MnM Gang or her polycule!! Knockout is the one who often spends the most time with Swift, but if it's not him due to work, then it's Elbent. But, no matter what, Swift always tries to spend time with all her spouses equally.
17. Do they have sibling(s)? How´s their relationship to them?
As far as Swift is aware, she has no siblings.... However, one of the few survivors of the TALOS slaughter was in fact Jeremy's son from another lover he had before Gasira died.... Swift's half brother, Zaire Omari. The two have no idea they are related through the same man that Swift killed before his eyes, and Swift has no intention on returning to Earth until she truly feels homesick enough to do so. But so far, she is happy where she is.
18. Do they have a sparkmate? How did they get to know each other?
Again, Swift has four Conjunxes. Knockout, Breakdown, Elbent, and Verglaust. See above for how they all met, but to put it simply here....
As Asya the human, she met Knockout first when he kidnapped her as a prisoner of the Decepticons. During her imprisonment, she stood her ground and was sassy and flirty with Knockout and Breakdown, until the three of them simply started speaking and growing closer emotionally until her rescue. After that, they began to meet in secret where their feelings grew and developed despite their species, until the end of the war came and Asya helped KO and BD to be free of the Cons and join her family. Their relationship soon became romantic, even before she became Swiftwire.
After the death of her family by the TALOS bombs, KO found an old ship and brought the surviving family members to Cybertron to start fresh amongst their own kind, where Swift first travelled around the planet for the sake of her mental health but instead both lost and gained her first child, before she returned to her family and moved to Vos to train as a politician for the sake of a better future for her children, and to help promote her vision of building equity for all, no matter a person's origins. During her training, she was told to hire a bodyguard, and the biggest one there who caught her eye just so happened to be Verglaust, a giant mech who immediately made her spark flutter with familiarity and attraction (cue Moto Moto song~) purely because he was a Beastformer, the only kind who had ever shown her love. Swift, KO and BD soon married, had Sira, and during a gala to promote her vote for becoming a Senator in the Iacon Council, Swift was introduced to Elbent on the day she lost Firefly. After KO and Conduit helped Elbent to deliver Firefly's stillborn body, Swift was finally able to reunite with Elbent and got told of what happened... The grief became their link to forming their bond, as Swift used her Senator position to become a patron to Elbent's research, and soon enough the two femmes fell in love and introduced the idea of forming a polycule.
Thus the MnM gang was born.
19. Overall Look?
(Right here~)
(Her earring needs a minor change, just to represent her spouses: Red for Knockout, Dark Blue for Breakdown, Light Blue for Elbent, Green for Verglaust, Orange for Swift ..... Also heels. She deserves killer heels that can echo with every step.)
20. Bonus: What´s the song that represents your character the most?
youtube
¬w¬ You know damn well why this works... We all know why, don't we mutuals?~
#I DID IT!!! BABY GURL FINALLY HAS A BIO!!#Hopefully this will cover everything anyone needs to know about her background and not be overwhelmed with an infodump#But HERE SHE IS!!
Xbox Game Pass [APK]

¿Cuánto cuesta jugar a Xbox Game Pass

ANOTHER self-reblog but with added lore about Talos... Cause I forgot to add stuff about his personality.... Whoops 🤭
And again, in case you don't wanna scroll, here's his voice claim.
When Talos emerges from the headspace, Swift is still there, but is forced to take a backseat perspective inside her own mind. When this happens, Talos is supposedly docile and only ever truly comes out when Swift needs his help to defeat a greater threat she alone cannot handle with her power as a Seeker...
~*~
The moment the danger passes... Talos will eagerly turn on those Swift trusted him to protect, especially the children, and attack them. Swift CAN AND WILL try to reign him in and regain control, but by this point she is physically too tired to fight him, making the corruption of Talos's full takeover much easier and quicker to occur. The moment the orange fades into blue-black, no matter how much Swift physically beats herself up to try and weaken him.... Talos has already won.
~*~
As his true self... Talos is manipulative, sadistic, sociopathic, feral yet intelligent in an unhinged way, and he only has two main goals.... To gain independence from Swift by claiming either her body or gaining one of his own, and getting his revenge on Swift by destroying everything she loves with every chance he has, when he is in control, and breaking her mentally and emotionally in order to finally take over without her resisting.
~*~
On a normal day, when Swift's mental state is weak due to a bad mental health day or she's feeling exhausted.... Talos will whisper in her mind all the things she did in the past, about how she killed her father, slaughtered those humans who made her become this way, and how he longs to make her suffer by watching those she loves suffer by her hand. He plagues her dreams sometimes with nightmares of his desires... But it's thanks to Elbent and the constant distraction of maintaining her mental wellbeing that keeps Talos at bay.
~*~
In the IDW AU.... He will kill everyone on the Lost Light, if given the chance. And because he's bigger than Megatron, he would be Talos's first target. Then Ultra Magnus... Then Starhawk and Rodimus. Then Elbent, Verglaust and Swift's whole polycule and family, and finally the kids, both Starhawk's and Swift's, and he would make Swift watch to truly break her.
~*~
If the crew manage to knock Talos out and bring Swift back in control, before any of that happens, she would IMMEDIATELY imprison herself and fight Talos into submission in the safety of her prison cell, all by literally throwing herself against the walls and hurting herself over and over and over again... Until she can outlast the agony of her broken body and make Talos pass out and submit into returning back into his space within her psyche.
~*~
If Chromedome ever tried to tap into Swift's mindspace, he would see Talos in an old, battered, but sturdy cage made of broken glass, with Swift- as her human self- huddled up in a far off corner and connected by a collar Talos wears as well, on a long, spooled silver chain.
