The whole issue seems super disrepectful to the original creators. Like, they put the time and effort into creating a story and characters, only for some translator to go "yeah, but I want to write them my way and take ownership for the story." That's just peak arrogance, and I can't fault Japanese creators like Anno clamping down on changes made to the script if that's the attitude.
Anno?
There's changing the script - without justifying it by localisation reasons - and changing the script because some dude wanted to tell a story so used an already existing media as medium.
And then you end up with the lolcalised Fates, or the lolcalised FE16 - like, I don't think there is going to be a giant backlash at Treehouses for FE16, because people were completely but the supposed "grey morality" and the game itself didn't want to tank their waifu - so we have people still thinking, 3 years after the release of the game, after a dev interview, after Heroes (as a side material) comforting the devs and the general idea that no, waifu is wrong and lizard lady was framed to make the "twist" more impactful...
3 years later, some people still think Fodlan was ruled by the Church of Seiros, Faerghus doesn't deserve to exist and space lizards are the reason why everything is wrong in Fodlan.
Is it because of the lolcalisation? I don't think so. Were the lolcalisers the first ones unhappy with the game and they tried to "edit" it to make it more Cap* - friendly? IDK.
Why was this lolcalisation born? IDK.
But honestly, people like Kevin'n'Tommy'n'Jenny are really showing a bad image on the localisation business.
IDK how Bamco or major companies will deal with those wonky localisations - will they try to have some in-house localisation and we will return to the era of delays between a jp version and an US/European one - or trust independant localising companies again, hoping Kevin'n'pals will be fired?
I will always pick the OG voices, and subtitles, when available, because I grew up with the yellow subtitles - I thought I might switch when FE15 was released, but Rhage? Damn, here goes. Even if her tone and words don't match the script, I'll take Inoue over Leigh (as directed by Pat) everyday.

Guess which chick started playing Crestoria? That’s right, it me and I’m having so much fun.
Chaining together turns to figure out how get that gauge for that sweet sweet mystic artes? Addictive as hell.
Leveling system that is fairly sensible for even an unga bunga player like me? Thank you, we didn’t get the Zesty craft system.
Rate up chances higher than 1%? I can believe it and am grateful.
Getting to choose a SR or SSR from the get go? You have several best boys and girls to choose from. The combination of rate up and choice, gave me both my Tales crushes. I am SO content!
And the OST? *chef’s kiss* Vicious’ theme has no reason to be as much of a banger as it is.
I’ve been at it for hours hoping to start having my AP actually fill up but I’m still low enough level to be able to keep it going at a fairly quick rate. Maybe another day or so of playing might bring it to that. And I’m alright with that. I think the only thing I might have issue with is getting to a guild since I really don’t want one that’s heavy commitment. Also I don’t know if it’s a loading thing or what with the power up quests after ‘time is up.’ Shouldn’t it shuffle to the next day’s quests? But that’s more of a nitpick than anything.
Storywise, I was interested before it even came out. It gave P5 vibes in the whole rebelling, I won’t take this lying down thing. Also it really does give the interesting bit of...mmm, I’m not sure what it’s called but how quickly and callously that we can call for condemnation without even hearing the whole story.
What I will admit is that I don’t really care for Kanata as much. I mean, he’s a typical shounen, which is fine. But I don’t know, his personality just doesn’t jive with me. Goth thot, though. I am here for this walking disaster of a man. Oh man. Also here for Misella, there is angst and badassery in this one. I feel it. But this Tales and they’re very good at changing my mind about characters. Haven’t met the rest so I have yet for impressions with them.
In summary. I am running high with this game’s goings on and hope to be able to get a bit further. But juggling this and FGO, phew....

Tales of Crestoria.
This one didn't last long. I remember picking this up during my lockdown woes. Tales of Crestoria was Bamco's attempt at making a full fledged tales game on mobile devices, with the gacha models we know today. The gameplay wasn't much, but i really liked the character interactions, alongside the reappearing tales characters. I wasn't that much into the series at the time, but i recognized some of these faces.
The story is the main meal here, and it's good. The characters deal with one and done punishment for something they've done that was out of their control. You end up playing as a bunch of somewhat good hearted outlaws constantly on the run. It was fully voiced, with skits and all that. There was also an amazing animated preview for the game's story, alongside a full 15 minute CG animated feature that went over the initial moments of the game's story. Crestoria's story had some real love behind it. It's a shame they didn't get the chance to finish it within the game, but the team that built this world, these characters are pressing on and are still telling the story through other mediums i don't know about it. The fact that they're doing it is nuts. All of the characters birthed from this game stand tall with the other behemoths of the series. They fit right in. I'm glad they're still being worked on.
I have to thank and acknolege this game. Looking back, this was the game to get me into the Tales series. Without it, i would've never bat an eye at the sale for Vesperia. and other games...
This was a good one.
