keigo’s secretary tells him that he absolutely cannot skip the department get together after work today. they’re welcoming a new employee to the commission, and he needs to show his face.
he’s so tired. he’s not in the mood. but he goes anyway—he’s president after all. at dinner, he’s all smiles, chatty and pleasant. he makes small talk with you, the new employee, and counts down the minutes until he can make an excuse and leave.
“karaoke, anyone?” someone shouts, and they’re met with excited shouts of agreement.
keigo’s forced to tag along with them to a nearby karaoke room, despite weak excuses that he’s too old for this, he’s in his 30s.
he sits and watches as his department eggs you on, pushing you to be first to sing as the newbie.
you’re good-natured about it, agreeing easily. you choose an upbeat love song.
when you begin singing, it’s like someone’s trailed their fingers up his spine. reached into his chest and sent a shock into his heart, jumpstarting his system.
he doesn’t have wings anymore. doesn’t have his enhanced sight, his sensitivity to sound anymore.
but maybe he’s still a bird, inside, caught as he is by the notes of your song, the sweetness of your voice.

pairings ↬ takami keigo x fem!reader
word count ↬ 3.8k
There have been moments over the past year where you wondered whether there was a need to keep trying? Holding dearly onto something that had been sinking for a while. The absence of your friends and family at the wedding should have been the first sign of bad luck. Yet, you blindly kept moving forward. Was there really anything left to lose at this point? Had you grown bored of your normal life that you needed such a drastic change?
All these thoughts flood to your mind as you watch him. It’s beyond the usual time you were meant to rest. Enji came to you last minute and announced that one of his friends would be coming over for dinner. There was no point in arguing. No matter how many times you tried to encourage him to communicate with you, he refused.
Enji’s face contorts in disgust, you could hear the faint sounds of his throat hitching. Rushing to grab a tissue, he spits out the food into it. He looks up at you, eyes burning into your skin with disdain.
“You put too much seasoning, again! Are you trying to raise my blood pressure!?” He whined, slamming the tissue on the dining table as if to threaten you. His anger was something you had grown accustomed to at this point, you’ve seen worse.
“It tastes fine to me,” Enji’s ‘friend’, Keigo, chirps up to your defense. “Relax, Enji.”
Keigo’s words don’t do much, only making Enji grimace and stare off into the void next to him. He never cared about others witnessing his horrible attitude, you sighed. The house was empty tonight: Shoto was busy with his buddies from school, Fuyumi was off traveling, and Natsuo was sleeping over at his girlfriend’s house.
Thankfully, they weren’t here. Fuyumi empathized with you during these times. She mentioned that the fights between you and Enji brought back uncomfortable memories for her and the brothers. Having Shoto defend you during Enji’s spells of anger was humiliating enough. Always stepping in before things escalated terribly; it must’ve been a response to protect you in ways he couldn’t do for his mother.
“Sorry,” You stand and gather Enji’s plates, still full of unfinished food. He wouldn’t touch it anymore. “I was trying to hurry but it was hard with you rushing me.”
Keigo watches over you like a hawk; he was always the worst at hiding his emotions well. You tried to avoid him, but he always found a way. When Enji’s eyes shut tight in annoyance, he becomes bold. Ghosting his fingertips over your legs as you bend over to reach for another plate. You shoot him a glare, nonverbally demanding that he stop. Keigo just laughed off your concerns in a small chuckle under his breath, only you could hear.
Begrudgingly, you trotted off to the kitchen to clean up. Enji looked too enamored with his 'friend' to hound you to cook something else. He usually did that when he wasn’t satisfied with your dishes. You prayed, for this one time, that he would leave you alone. His eyes burn into you again as you leave, you can feel them. Although, you’ve only been married to him for a short time — the feeling is something you are already aware of.
When you finally leave the room, Keigo decides he can safely speak his mind. “Getting mad all the time isn’t good for you, Enji.”
“What the hell would you know?” The last thing Enji wanted to hear was advice from a man who changed girlfriends as often as underwear.
“Not much,” Keigo shrugged, playfully raising his shoulders as if he was taunting the older gentleman. “Be nice. It must be hard to get used to her new life. Step-kids and all.”
"Hmph..."
Enji considers Keigo’s words, but only for a brief moment. The stress of hero work must have been catching up to him. He sincerely doesn't mean to raise his voice at you, it's just that you are the closest victim around. Even if guilt creeped up on him slowly, his pride stopped him from apologizing. Enji planned on buying you those bouquet of tulips you mentioned liking a few months back as an apology — the thought barely lingers in his mind.
Although Keigo would love to catch up with his favorite hero, he had other plans in mind.
"Gotta use the bathroom." Keigo stands from his seat, leaving Enji to wither in his own flames. "Might go check up on her too," He says, too fast and quiet for Enji to process his words before he leaves.
The path to the kitchen is familiar to him; Keigo has been in this house more times than Enji knows. Really, he should be counting his blessings with how lucky he has been. The traditional Japanese-style of the home was an eyesore to him. Keigo has been trying to convince you to spend the night at his, only once, but you couldn't. What sort of excuse could you possibly tell Enji for him to allow that? “It's simpler this way”, you tell him.
As he turns the corner, you're the first thing he sees. How could he ignore you? You hurry around the kitchen, clearing all the contents of this evening's dinner in the garbage. Running scalding hot water over the dirty dishes, you don't notice until a burning sensation touches your skin. Hissing out a swear through your teeth afterwards. Each plate needed to be scrubbed clean — white and shiny without a spec of food — before Enji raised his hand at you again, with those demonic eyes of his.
"He pissed you off a little, huh?" Keigo startles you with his presence at the door. You glance at him, only for a second as you didn't want to lose your focus.
Keigo's leaning against the door frame; his hands are in the depths of his denim pockets. The silver and gold watch you gifted him for his birthday last year sparkles in your eyes. He bought you a matching one shortly after that, but you refused to wear it — it would be too obvious! His tone doesn't sound empathetic. In the brief moment you see him, Keigo gives you his signature cheesy smirk.
"Yeah," You say and return to cleaning. The last thing you needed was to be disturbed — but he was perfect at accomplishing that.
Low vibrations and slow steps soon follow until he's right behind you. Keigo can sense you tensing; something’s not right. Instinctively, his muscular arms snake around your waist as he presses your back into his toned chest. Keigo rests his head into a free space on your shoulder. With every breath, his stubble tickles your skin gently.
“You know he can’t keep a wife happy,” He laughs softly into your ear, obviously poking fun at Enji's failed marriage with Rei.
“It really isn’t funny, Keigo…” Unamused, you catch a cup that slips out of your hands.
“Yeah, yeah… Don’t bark at me,” Keigo eases up off your shoulder, he straightens his back but the tight grip on your waist remains. “Jus’ hate when you’re sad, you know…”
“Don’t worry about me.”
One of his hands pinch your sides, while the other traces shapes into your clothes skin. “Can’t you smile for me, dove?”
“I’m not in the mood."
“Hm…?" He cocked his head to the side. "Fine.”
His hands glide down your arms, stopping at your wet hands. Although his own become wet and covered in suds, he doesn’t mind. Keigo holds up your ring finger, narrowing his eyes as he stares at the silver band. He usually loves shiny jewelry, especially the ones that glisten perfectly under the sun. They always caught his eye first, twinkling in a way that made it hard for him to resist. He always gifted you the finest jewelry that you kept tucked away in a small box, away from Enji.
Keigo hates your wedding ring.
“What- What are you—,” Keigo slips the wet ring off your finger and sets it on the counter.
He never understood why you chose Enji over anyone else. How could Enji be picked over him? Each time he asks, you mutter the same response. “You’re too busy all the time, Keigo. You’re never here when I need you.” It was the truth; he couldn’t deny it, but only make up excuses. Keigo tries to explain that his line of work doesn’t allow for him to have these freedoms, but it’s not enough to persuade you.
Drunk off the feeling of your love, he fills the emptiness in his heart with meaningless flings and relationships that won’t make it past three months. Somehow, Keigo tries to keep them hidden from you. There’s no point in making an announcement to his friends, anyways. Yet, you were aware of them. If you listened closely, you could hear their voices in the background of your calls with him. All of his past lovers gave the same excuse as you did. How funny was it all? They could tell his heart was elsewhere and their body was unable to fix that void.
“I know you hate doing it with your ring on…” Keigo's free hand slips under your skirt, trailing his fingertips on the skin of your inner thighs.
He plays with the waistband of your panties, just enough to not agitate you. Keigo waits for you to stop him, each time. For you to be reminded of your sacred union, but it never happens. You haven’t felt the sense to stop in quite some time. By now your movements are instinctive, your legs spread to allow him more space to continue as he pleases. Running his middle finger along your clothed heat, he leaves soft kisses along the nape of your neck.
"There's not enough time," Whispering this to him in a hushed tone, your pleas are ignored.
"You hate thinking of him, right?" With no time to react, his fingers dive past the silk fabric.
"Kei..." Your head tilts back next to his own, until your cheeks are touching each other.
Whimpering his name gave him enough motivation to act. All those years spent with the Commission didn't go to waste; with the memory skills he's been taught, he knows each of your favorite spots.
Keigo's middle finger find the hood of your clit, rubbing in circular motions as you unwind to his touch. His movements are aided by the slick dripping from your cunt and coating his fingers. By now, you've forgotten about the running tap water — grasping onto his brawny arms to urge him deeper. Keigo sinks his teeth into the nape of your neck, trying to muffle his moans. He doesn't want to worry about Enji finding out.
It's the first time he's made a move with Enji in the house. What better time than now? The pads of his finger push deeper into your bud, quickening his movements as his heart races. "You should get back to him now, baby bird..."
"Mmm~, not yet..." You can only pray that he can't hear your voices from. You can feel him smirk into your skin, giving a rest from marking you. Keigo had no other choice but to oblige. What kind of partner would he be to neglect you? No better than Enji.
Keigo's fingers dip lower, teasing you with the way he runs along your heat. You felt him pressing you further against the counter, trying to free himself from his skinny jeans. He always preferred to begin slow, not wanting to rush the quality time you two spent together — even if it was short. Focusing all your effort on staying quiet, you gasp as you feel him burying inside slowly and with ease. His thumb never leaves from your clit, keeping the same rhythm as before.
Reaching his free hand up to your shirt, he raises it by the hem and tugs it upwards enough for your bra to show. Keigo claws at the fabric, it doesn't take much effort to completely reveal your breasts to the cool air. The lace material peels off your skin easily; he doesn't enjoy the speed of things, for once in his life, but he gives in... for you. As his hand caresses your tits, his thumb dances over your hardened bud.
Keigo can feel it; as soon as another one of his thick fingers enters your walls, he can feel you quivering under him. Fluttering around his fingers with every pass he makes over your weakest spot. "s-shit, yeah, keigo... keep going...!" you cry in response to his words. Hips rocking into his hand, matching the rhythm of the deep yet slow thrusts of his fingers. By now, your essence has sullied your perfectly clean underwear and leaked onto every inch of his fingers.
Just as you feel yourself unwinding at his movements, he pulls away. Unwrapping his arms away from you and carefully slipping out of your sodden cunt.
"God," You scowl at him, embarrassingly loud. Keigo tries to make up for it with a quick peck on the cheek. You hated when he pulled little tricks like that.
"He should be here to see," Keigo helps you slip out of your lace panties. He takes the risk and stuffs them deep inside his pockets, hopefully you won't ask about them later. "Maybe he'll learn how to make you cum." Grasping tightly on your hips, he forces you around.
Keigo leans forward and takes his place back on your neck. Sucking and nibbling at your skin until purple bruises arise once again. You run your fingers through his honey blonde locks, urging him. His kisses continue to the valley of your breasts. Each of his hands grasp onto your mounds of flesh. Keigo suckles on your peaks, tongue dragging light flicks along your sensitive skin.
He continues his kisses, trailing them downward from your breasts to your bellybutton. Finally, Keigo kneels beneath you. Spreading your legs like butter with his hands, he says, “You jus' can't wait for me, huh?"
Keigo ghosts his fingers over your inner thighs. He bites his lips and gulps shallowly at the sight, cunt glistening under him. His amber orbs dilate as he takes in the sight, so shiny and perfect just for him. A nice long lick up your slick is enough to continue your trance. Keigo is too eager; he laps up all of your spilling nectar until it fully completely coats his tongue and dribbles along his pink tongue.
As he peers up, you can’t help but notice how beautiful he looks underneath you. Strands of his honey blonde hair fall perfectly on his sweaty forehead. Keigo fits on you like a missing jigsaw puzzle piece. Circling and flicking his tongue around your clit, your hands claw through his hair and force him deeper. Never minding his stubble rubbing against your sensitive skin.
Bucking your hips into him once again, Keigo loves the way you surrender completely to his touch. “ah~ fuck- fuck… i can’t… please, faster!” He’s happy to follow your commands. The rapid beating of your heart and quickening breath gives him enough of a signal, again. Through your quivering thighs and slurred speech, you manage to speak, “kei! i’m go- gonna cum…!”
This time, your hands hold his head in place — you won’t let him toy with you again, now. Spewing swears through gritted teeth, you tense up over him feeling the wave of ecstasy consume your body. Keigo stares up at you briefly, your expression is enough for him to threaten to spill in his boxers. Your head is thrown back with one very loud moan escaping your lips. He eagerly laps up everything as if it’s his last supper, refusing to stop until on his saliva remains on your skin.
Panting, he brings himself up to his feet. Keigo hisses softly feeling you palm him under his jeans. He pushes your hand away, with a newfound sense of vigor, he can’t wait. The jingling of his belt resounded in the room as he unbuckled his jeans. You could feel him rutting against you while his fingers were still deep inside you. Bulge protruding through his skinny jeans, begging to be released.
He frees his cock from its hold, just before you notice a damp spot of his precum. Always neat and well-kept for you, he’s groomed himself well just for tonight. Blood rushes to his rosy tip, the veins pulsate with every second that passes.
Stroking his cock for a few seconds, you help guide him to your core. Just like his fingers, he nestles inside you with ease. You wrap so tight around him, nearly swallowing him whole. So perfect, he can’t help but say, “always squeezin’ around me just right, dove…”
You wrap your arms around his neck, mesmerized by his blushing and sweaty face. A bead of sweat trickles down from his forehead to his collarbone as you shift some hair from his face.
Keigo gently rolls his hips, massaging your velvety walls with his shaft; so tender and affectionate, you easily got addicted to the feeling. He releases soft gasps with each movement of his hips, not wanting to break eye contact with you. He wanted to watch everything, every facial expression and cry that left your mouth.
“Waited so long for this,” Keigo presses his forehead against yours. “Hate havin’ to watch you two together…”
Softly planting a kiss on his cherry red lips, you reciprocate his feelings, “God, I missed you.” Nipping at his bottom lip before kissing him deeper, “it’s been too long.”
One of your legs wraps around his waist and lower back, pulling him deeper with his sudden sporadic thrusts. Keigo tries to keep his feelings together. That was a necessity in forbidden relationships like this. Yet, he doesn’t know how long he can do it. Smile in Enji’s face like a dear friend only to betray him when he was alone with you. It was a sickening feeling; he couldn’t keep it hidden any longer.
What should he do? Keigo’s too deep into everything now. The possibility of rejecting his feelings is something he couldn’t do. Especially now, as he hears your chants of his name spew from your lips once you two break away from your kiss. The glimmer of your wedding ring catches his eye when you cling to him. His hips slapped against your skin with sounds of sex echoing through the room. Oh, how badly did he want to be Enji.
The anger nearly consumes him, just for a second. He couldn’t accept the announcement of your marriage to him that day… How could you? How could you pick Enji!?
Keigo desperately wants to find his release, spill his scalding cum deep inside your cavern and smirk to himself as you limp back to your husband. But he couldn’t be satisfied only with that… Instead, he slows, just enough to keep him chasing his high.
He leans down to your ear, and whispers, “I’ve always wanted you… haven’t you realized?”
"F-Fuck, Kei... I know," You run your fingers through his messy hair, coaxing him even closer to your body. "I'm sorry..."
"Ho-How do you th-think I sleep at nights knowing you give yourself to h-him..?" Keigo tries to keep himself together, once again. It took everything in his spirit to not spill his potent seed. Not now, not yet.
"Mmmh~... 'm sorry, Kei...
With those feathers of his, Keigo could sense the trembling ground with his heavy footsteps only a few feet away from the door. It was all sort of funny to him, it must’ve been a joke. “I better start calling this pussy mine from now on. Shouldn’t I, Enji?”
“Nnggh… Wha- What…?” Of course, you decide to groan a bit too loud just as he was at the door. “Enji…!”
Poor Enji. He thought you had hurt yourself when he heard your noises only a few minutes before. He really didn’t mean to raise his voice at you. Lately, Enji has been trying to be a better person. You know, work through his anger issues for the betterment of his growing family. He slipped up tonight, yes, but he was trying. Keigo wants to feel bad, but he couldn’t spare any sympathy for a serial abuser.
Enji is frozen just outside the door. Blue eyes pierce at your bodies intertwined together. The messy clothing still that you still have on, his markings all over your neck, and of course, the expressions of pure ecstasy written over Keigo’s face.
As if the image wasn’t enough for the older man, Keigo reaches for your neck and forces you to stare at Enji. The only thing in common between the two of you is the horrified expression you make at each other as your eyes meet.
His pace of his movements began to pick up, becoming frenzied now that his favorite hero is here to watch. All the older man could do was gawk. You wanted to keep your composure, maybe even push Keigo off your body and run to Enji. It was just a little mistake! A mistake that has lasted since the day you two were married.
"Took you long enough..." Keigo knew Enji was getting on with age, surely his hearing wasn't affected as well. "Pu- Put on a show for him, pretty bird... Let him hear..."
"Oh~... God, I- I..." You somehow manage to croak out as Keigo moves his hand from you neck to your jaw, parting your lips.
"There we go. That's it, babygirl..." His hips drill into your core with an unwavering speed, plates scattered around the counter swayed with each thrust; finally, chasing his high. "Louder..."
Like an obedient dove, you obeyed. The harmony of your moans combined with his own bounced off each wall and into Enji's ears. Keigo's eyes refuse to leave yours. Instead, he positions your head until he was the only being in your view. Keigo's hips faltered with every one of his grunts, seizing up along with the rest of his body. He dipped his head down lower; his hot breath tickles the hairs on your neck. You knew what would happen next.
With a loud hiss, Keigo's eyes shut tight as he sinks his teeth into your skin. You could feel his body tense on top of you, feverishly grasping onto your flesh to draw you closer. A warm sensation pools through your cavern, you moan along with him as if Enji's presence is nonexistent. Speaking of the devil, he remained frozen throughout the entire ordeal. He blinks at the sight a few times, trying to process if he was dreaming.
But, of course, it was all reality. Enji finally accepts it, trailing his eyes to the floor beneath him.
“Come on, don’t look away now, Enji…” His seed drips down your inner thigh, joining your juices that have trickled onto the kitchen floor. “Pay attention, you might learn a thing or two about how to keep a wife…"

ᯓ★୭˚. ENEMIES OR MORE?
જ⁀➴ “what are we?” event masterlist
synopsis: he's a symbol of everything you oppose. loyalties drawn, paths set—still, there's an unspoken understanding, a reminder of what you might share.
pairing: hawks x f!reader
the city hums beneath you, the distant sound of sirens and hurried footsteps filling the air as night slowly creeps in.
you stand atop a rooftop, the cool breeze lifting your hair, your gaze scanning the streets below. tonight, you're here on business, but there’s always something more when it comes to him—hawks.
it’s been a while since you last crossed paths.
each time you do, it's like a game of cat and mouse. he thinks he has you cornered, but you always manage to slip away.
not out of fear, but because you know how to play the game better than anyone. after all, you’ve spent your life outsmarting heroes like him.
and yet, tonight, something feels different.
you can feel the shift in the air before you see him. the familiar flutter of feathers, the sharp sound of wings cutting through the night.
he’s here, and he's getting closer. the irony of it all isn't lost on you—the fastest hero in the nation, always chasing you, yet never quite able to catch you. he’s good, no doubt about that.
but you know his moves, his habits, better than anyone.
he lands gracefully on the rooftop opposite yours, his wings folding behind him.
you look over your shoulder, eyes narrowing, sensing the tension in the air. there’s something about this encounter that doesn’t feel like all the others.
“still running, huh?” hawks’ voice breaks through the quiet, a smirk evident in his tone as he takes a few steps forward.
his wings twitch slightly, as though itching to launch himself toward you.
you can’t help the smirk that tugs at your lips.
“running?” you say, stepping out of the shadows, your gaze locking onto his. “I’m not the one chasing after someone who’s always a step ahead, am I?”
his eyes glint, and there's a flicker in his expression. you wonder if it’s because of the way you’ve been evading him, or if it’s something more.
but you push the thought away. you’re not here for introspection. you’re here to keep him on his toes.
“you make it too easy,” he says, his voice holding a mix of annoyance and amusement.
“you know, most villains would’ve been caught by now, but you…you’ve got this annoying habit of being unpredictable.”
you tilt your head slightly, taking a step closer to him.
the moonlight casts a soft glow on his face, and for a brief moment, you find yourself distracted by the sharpness of his features, damn him for being this good looking.
“you think I’m a villain?” you ask softly, your tone almost teasing.
“maybe I’m just someone who understands the world a little better than you do. someone who’s not afraid to take risks while you hide behind your hero facade.”
he falters for just a moment, the flicker of doubt in his eyes quickly hidden. “maybe. or maybe you’re just scared. hiding behind all that power because you know the truth deep down.”
you scoff, crossing your arms. “you really think you have me figured out, don’t you?”
“I know I do,” he replies smoothly, stepping closer. “it’s not hard to figure out someone who’s always one step ahead of the law.
but what I don’t get…is why you never just accept what’s coming to you. why run? why keep fighting when you could stop? you could make things easier on yourself.”
the question lingers between you, pulling at something inside. it’s the same question he’s asked every time you’ve faced off—why do you keep fighting, when you could just give in?
the truth is, it’s never been about winning or losing. it’s always been about the chase.
about the thrill of outsmarting him and playing this game, where both of you know the stakes are high but neither of you wants to stop.
for a moment, you’re quiet.
the only sound is the wind rustling through the night air. you glance at him, his eyes locked on yours with an intensity that almost makes you second-guess yourself.
“you want to know why?” you ask softly, your voice barely a whisper. he leans in, curiosity in his eyes.
“because,” you continue, taking a slow step closer to him, “you’re always so sure of yourself, so confident. and I’ve always wanted to see just how far that confidence will get you when it comes to me.”
hawks smirks, the challenge in your words clearly not lost on him. “you know, that’s not a bad answer,” he says, his voice suddenly softer. almost…warmer.
“but, for the record, I’m not going to stop coming after you. no matter how many times you think you’ve outsmarted me.”
you laugh, the sound light and almost melodic. “maybe that’s what makes it fun.”
as you disappear into the shadows, leaving hawks standing in the middle of the empty alley, he can’t stop the small grin from tugging at his lips.
he adjusts his feathers, his eyes lingering on where you’ve vanished for a moment too long.
“fun, huh?” he mutters to himself, shaking his head as he launches into the air.
the wind whips against his face, but it doesn’t do much to clear the warmth lingering in his chest—or the ghost of your laughter still echoing in his ears.
by the time he makes it back to his apartment, hawks is still replaying the interaction in his mind.
he tosses his jacket over the back of the couch and paces the room, trying to shake the nagging feeling that’s taken root.
something about you always lingers—like the faintest melody that refuses to leave his head.
slumping onto the couch, he runs a hand through his messy hair, staring at the ceiling. “what is it with her?” he mutters, the question more to himself than anyone else.
his thoughts drift unbidden to your teasing smile, the glint in your eyes whenever you throw a challenge his way. he’s met plenty of people who are clever, who enjoy the game, but you?
you aren’t just playing the game—you’re rewriting the rules every time he thinks he’s got you figured out.
he groans, covering his face with his hands. “nope, nope. this is bad. really bad.”
it isn’t just your sharp wit or the way you keep him on his toes. it’s how, even in the midst of a chase, you feel like something more.
like a spark that makes him forget—for just a moment—that you’re supposed to be on opposing sides.
his hands drop from his face, and he leans forward, elbows on his knees, staring at the floor like it holds the answers.
“she’s gonna be the death of me,” he mutters, his voice half exasperation, half awe.
hawks isn’t used to being thrown off his game—he thrives on control, on always being one step ahead. but with you? he feels like he’s chasing more than a target. and it terrifies him.
because the truth is finally starting to settle in, whether he likes it or not.
he doesn’t just enjoy the chase. he doesn’t just admire your wit, your skill, or the way you always manage to slip through his fingers at the last second.
he likes you. really likes you.
“damn it,” hawks mutters, rubbing the back of his neck as heat creeps up to his cheeks.
the realization hits him like a ton of bricks, and for the first time in what feels like forever, keigo takami—pro hero hawks—feels completely out of his depth.
the thought of seeing you again, of hearing your laugh, sends a wave of excitement and dread through him.
because liking you isn’t just risky—it’s downright reckless. but even as he tries to rationalize it, to remind himself of the impossibility of it all, he can’t stop the smile tugging at his lips.
“guess I’m really in trouble now,” he murmurs, leaning back on the couch and staring up at the ceiling.
the days that follow the encounter feel different.
it isn’t just the heat of that moment between you and hawks lingering like smoke in the air; it’s the unspoken tension that still hums beneath your skin.
there are still barbed exchanges, the usual teasing and back-and-forth, but something has shifted.
you notice the way he looks at you when he thinks you aren’t watching—softened, almost as if he’s studying you.
and when you lock eyes, the challenges are still there, but now there’s something else. something delicate.
you try to tell yourself that it’s nothing. that this is just another phase in your endless battle, another game between the villain and the hero.
but it’s harder to believe that now.
there are even times when he shows up when you least expect it—just to talk, to exchange words that aren’t about missions or plans or orders. small things—like him telling you to be careful, or when he asks if you’re okay.
you scoff, of course, but the warmth in his voice, the underlying sincerity, is something you can’t deny.
you aren’t sure how you got here, where you find yourself questioning the motives of the person who, up until recently, has been your enemy.
maybe it’s because you start seeing him as something more than just a hero—a perfect, untouchable figure of righteousness. or maybe it’s because he isn’t what you thought he was.
you try to keep your distance, you truly do, but every time you see him, every time you hear his voice, it’s like he’s chipping away at the walls you’ve built around yourself.
and it isn’t just the things he says. it’s the way he says them. it’s the look in his eyes when he thinks you can’t see it.
the way he hesitates before leaving, like he’s waiting for something…waiting for you to say something, anything. but you can’t say what you need to say. you can’t even admit it to yourself.
weeks pass, and the line between enemy and ally grows thinner.
there are moments when you find yourself sitting in the same room as him—no fighting, no tension, just silence hanging between you like a fragile thread.
you can hear his breathing, steady and calm, and you force yourself to focus on anything but the heat rising in your chest.
still, you fight it.
but then, one night, everything changes.
it’s supposed to be just another mission.
but the battlefield is charged with an unfamiliar tension, thicker than the usual chaos. and hawks is there, too. and this time, he isn’t just another target. he’s in the way.
more specifically, one of his allies—the one you’re assigned to hurt—is standing directly in the line of fire. they’re a crucial part of the mission, and it isn’t something you can afford to back out of.
the moment your eyes meet hawks’, you know this won’t go as planned. his gaze is sharp, unwavering, and brimming with something you can’t quite place—determination, yes, but there’s something else buried beneath it.
he sees through you, understands the weight of your mission—hurt, not just steal or take—and it’s clear he isn’t going to let you succeed.
not this time. the ally you’re supposed to harm stands behind him, and you can see it in hawks’ stance:
if you want to get to them, you’ll have to go through him.
the fight is a dance—a deadly one that the ally exploits to escape.
your body moves on instinct, dodging, attacking, countering, each movement honed by months of training, and yet each blow you land against him is softer than it should be.
your heart is racing, but not from the fight. no, it’s the connection—the undeniable pull you feel whenever your eyes meet.
you can’t explain it, but you feel it in the way his every movement seems to hesitate just a moment too long, in the way his eyes follow you just a second longer than they should.
and then, suddenly, it happens.
in a flash, you find yourself on the ground. his wings, the great feathers that could easily crush any enemy, are now spread wide above you like a barrier, trapping you.
your chest heaves with each breath, but you can’t move. his feather is aimed directly at your throat. the cold steel of it presses against your skin, and for a moment, time seems to stop.
you can feel the heat of him so close—his breath warm on your face, his eyes dark, intense, full of conflict. this isn’t the man you’ve faced in battle before.
no. this is different. this is a hero. and you...you are still the villain. the one he is supposed to end. the one he has every right to kill.
your heart thunders in your chest, not with fear, but with an aching sorrow. a desire for something you’ve long buried.
for a fleeting moment, your guard is down, and you let the raw truth of your emotions flood your mind. you are at his mercy. and, maybe, for the first time, you don’t want him to kill you.
“do it,” you whisper, the words barely escaping your lips. your voice cracks, the edge of vulnerability cutting through the usual strength you wear like armor.
you don’t recognize it at first. how weak you sound. how resigned. but there is a quiet hope in it too. you are giving him an out, a chance to end this.
but hawks doesn’t do it.
instead, his hand wavers, trembling slightly as it hovers above you. the feather, once so steady and deadly, wavers—its tip brushing against your skin, but not with the force of death.
no, there is something else in that touch. the hesitation. the uncertainty. his eyes, usually so determined, are clouded.
you lock eyes with him. in that moment, there is no mission. no sides. no enemies. only the two of you. and everything that has been building for months comes crashing to the surface.
the connection you tried to deny, the feelings you buried deep down, they all come rushing forward.
the world around you spins, a cyclone of emotions, of truths unspoken, of desires too dangerous to voice. and then, finally, he speaks.
“I can’t…” his voice breaks like glass, and you can hear the agony in it. it shatters the silence, the weight of his words settling heavily between you.
the feather above your throat drops. his grip on it loosens, and the sharp tip that had once been poised to kill now quivers in the air.
his wings fold, the powerful appendages that could level cities now hanging limply at his sides.
and in that moment—just when you think the world is going to end, just when you think he is going to end you—hawks collapses.
he falls into you, his chest heaving with emotion, his face burying itself against your shoulder.
you don’t know how to respond. don’t know what to say. but you feel the tremors in his body, the weight of everything he is carrying.
it isn’t just exhaustion.
it isn’t just the fight.
it’s something that has been growing inside of him since the moment you first crossed paths. something that both of you have tried to bury but can no longer deny.
you hold him close, your own body shaking now, from the quiet, painful realization that neither of you can keep pretending anymore. neither of you can keep hiding from what you have become.
hawks’ arms tighten around you as if he could shield you from everything—your choices, his duty, the impossible chasm between the two of you.
his breath is ragged against your shoulder, the weight of unspoken truths pressing down on both of you.
“this…” his voice is hoarse, cracking under the strain of everything he isn’t saying. “this doesn’t change anything, does it?”
you close your eyes, a helpless laugh escaping before you can stop it. “no. it doesn’t.”
the reality of it hangs heavy in the air. no matter what has passed between you, no matter how tightly he holds you now, the world outside won’t care.
you are still on opposing sides, trapped in a war that doesn’t allow for feelings like this.
“then what are we doing?” he asks, pulling back just enough to meet your gaze.
his golden eyes search yours, filled with a mixture of frustration, confusion, and something that looks dangerously close to hope.
you hesitate, the answer caught in your throat. “surviving,” you finally say, your voice quieter than you intended. “even if it’s just for this moment.”
his lips press into a thin line. “you know we can’t keep this up. sooner or later, one of us will have to make a choice.”
the truth of his words stings, but you refuse to look away. “I know,” you admit. “but I’m not ready to make that choice yet.”
silence falls between you, heavy with everything you can’t say. the warmth of his touch jars with the cold reality of your situation, and for a moment, it feels like the rest of the world has faded away.
but it hasn’t. it never will.
“I won’t stop trying to bring you in,” hawks says eventually. “I can’t just ignore everything you’ve done, everything you might still do. but…”
he swallows hard, his voice softening. “that doesn’t mean I want to lose you.”
you let out a shaky breath, your hands tightening in the fabric of his jacket. “and I won’t stop doing what I have to. but that doesn’t mean I want to fight you, keigo. I never have.”
his name on your lips seems to cause a light blush to cover his cheeks, before he coughs. “so, what does that make us? enemies with...feelings?”
a small smile tugs at your lips. “something like that.”

christmas shopping
pairing: takami x reader summary: Keigo is a busy man, but it’s the holiday season, after all. wc: 1.4k event masterlist
The holidays were, arguably, the busiest time of the year.
It was also your favorite time of year, don’t get it twisted, but you were so incredibly busy. There somehow always was a new item on your to do list. Baking, cooking, planning. Attending dinners and parties, gift shopping.
And it might have been easier if your boyfriend wasn’t the number two hero.
If the holidays were busy for you, every day of the year was Keigo’s busy season. And you loved him for it, for dedicating so much of his time to saving others. Maybe he hadn’t had a choice in hero work at the start, but he kept with it even when you told him you would still love him even if he quit.
But Keigo, your Keigo, didn’t quit. He would never.
You just wished he could have helped you with your growing list of gifts to buy. You were letting him stick his name on all the gifts for your mutual friends, after all. Maybe it was selfish of you, but you wanted him around to entertain you while you shopped.
And maybe carry your bags for you.
After an hour of shopping on your own, you were growing bored. It didn’t help that Keigo had stopped answering your texts, either, and you were contemplating the possibility of calling it quits early and heading home when you saw it.
Something red, something fast, floating through the crowded shopping center.
A feather.
Smiling to yourself, you couldn’t help but scan the crowd for any sight of the tawny blond you knew couldn’t be far behind. The feather flew in close to your face, but you snatched it out of the air before it could tickle your cheek. Keigo was a tease.
“Are you going to show yourself or just watch from the shadows like a creep?” You didn’t care that you might have looked like the weird one, talking to a feather in the middle of a crowd. You knew for a fact that Keigo could hear you, no matter how far he was.
“You think I’m a creep?” Just like you had thought. He wasn’t able to resist countering your taunt, and made himself known directly behind you. “You really know how to hurt a guy, huh?”
Spinning on your heel, you rolled your eyes at Keigo’s dramatics, though you were secretly brimming with joy that he had managed to find time to meet up with you. Even if it was only briefly, you’d take every minute you could get with your boyfriend.
“I should have known you were up to something when you stopped answering my texts.” You ignore his taunt about hurting him, and instead opt to greet him with a kiss at the end of your sentence. He chased after you for one, two, more kisses before you had to set a hand on his chest and shove just slightly to remind him you were in public. Not that he ever cared about tedious things like that.
“Couldn’t pass up the chance to surprise you. And I figured I should give the other pros a chance to get their ratings up. With any luck, I’ll drop back down to where I’m more comfortable.” Even his explanation was littered with confident bragging. At the moment, he sounded like Hawks—but you wanted Keigo.
“Whatever gets you to help me with the shopping,” You pinched his nose in a teasing attempt to help him switch between his pro hero persona and who he really was. Sometimes, he struggled to do so, but after dating for so long you knew all the little tricks. “But I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to just duck out on patrol like this.”
“You’re my number one.” He smirked, always a flirt, and you hated that he was still able to draw a blush out of you like your relationship was only brand new. He winked at you as he deftly slipped the few shopping bags you had already collected from your hand, and you knew he wasn’t quite done just yet. “Just don’t tell Japan that.”
“So romantic,” You grinned, letting him take the weight of the bags. You were perfectly capable of carrying them yourself, but if he was going to insist, you’d let him.
Plus, it meant he was going to stay for the rest of your shopping trip with you.
“Is it always this busy around here?” Keigo asked, threading the fingers of his free hand through yours. You rolled your eyes playfully, brushing your thumb over his knuckles in a mindless show of affection.
“It’s nearly Christmas, Kei. All the shopping districts are busy.” You explained dutifully. You wanted to tease—it was hard not to, really—but you knew he was always so busy that he never had time for simple tasks like shopping. “C’mon, we’ve still got a lot of the list to get through so far. All I’ve managed is a few things for my family, and the night light you wanted to get for Tokoyami. Are you sure you don’t want to get him a real present, too?”
“Nah,” Keigo chuckled at his own joke, but you made a mental note to yourself to get something the young hero in training would actually enjoy. Keigo had him over for meals often enough that you knew Tokoyami wasn’t in the market for a nightlight. “Let’s get going on this list, shall we? Where to first, boss?”
“Well, if I can’t talk you out of getting a corduroy jacket for Best Jeanist, then—”
“It is him!” The not-so hushed whisper interrupted your sentence, and accompanying it was a group of teenagers eagerly approaching your boyfriend. Keigo wasn’t dressed in his hero uniform—a rare sight in public—but the giant red wings he boasted forced him to stick out in any crowd.
You might have been a little naive to assume that he would be able to help you get the shopping done without being approached by his fans. You never tried to stop him or get in the way, so you dropped his hand and stepped back to let him take pictures and meet with his fans. And after a few minutes they moved on, allowing you to slip your hand back into your boyfriend’s.
“Now that I have your attention again,” Keigo smirked like he hadn’t been the one to have been pulled away, pressing a sweet kiss to your cheek before you could think to argue against his words. “I was thinking about getting Mirko a hamster.”
“I’m not taking care of a hamster when she—”
“Hawks, man, I’m such a huge fan.”
A couple of guys in their late twenties were the next to approach, and you busied yourself by checking over the list you had made before leaving the house while Keigo tried to subtly end the small talk they tried making with the pro.
Except, a family with a few young children noticed number two Hawks at their local shopping center and wanted a photo for the kids. And your boyfriend wouldn’t have been the charming hero he was if he didn’t oblige them. It snowballed from there, until a line practically formed to greet Keigo and shake his hand.
You still hadn’t moved after nearly twenty minutes, but Keigo had managed to get the small crowd to disperse enough that he was able to talk to you. He looked a little embarrassed; clearly, he hadn’t planned on you having to stand by and watch him get fawned over.
“Why don’t we just go home and shop online?” He suggested, scratching at the back of his neck and momentarily losing his confident persona. Unable to stop yourself, you laced your fingers through his to stop his nervous habit.
“That sounds like a good idea.” You smiled, kissing his knuckles gently. The tinge of red on his cheeks only seemed to deepen in color, and you briefly prided yourself on getting such a sure hero to blush with a simple act of affection.
“Sorry to ruin your day out and cut it short,” He apologized unnecessarily and you shook your head. You wanted to tell him that he hadn’t ruined anything, that your day was only improved by his presence, but you figured that was too heavy of a topic for a shopping center Keigo could get mobbed by fans in at any moment.
So you settled for a teasing grin, bumping your arm against his as you walked towards the exit.
“At least you can’t buy a hamster online.”

╰┈➤ 𝐒𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐏𝐒𝐈𝐒 ✦ .ᐟ: Your three kids decide to surprise you and your husband on your anniversary with a show - a show starring the two people they love most in the world; their parents.
✦ 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒: You and Hawks are married, you have two daughters and a son, I gave them names lol, crack, fluffyyyy
✦ 𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒: Hawks/Keigo Takami x Reader
𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓: ✦
You and Keigo have been waiting outside the door of your bedroom, your three children very adamant about you not entering until they told you so.
It was your 15th anniversary, and though Keigo had a date planned for the both of you- your kids had other plans.
Suddenly, the door opens abruptly, and the two of you are met with your youngest daughter, Maya - the 6 year old looking up at the two of you with such an air of importance that you wondered what in the world your children were plotting this time.
"Welcome to the cinema." she says, flattening her back to the door to allow you and Keigo to step inside, ushering you to sit on the side of the bed facing the balcony before running out onto aforementioned balcony, and hiding behind the area that was obscured by the bedroom wall.
Your husband nudges you, an amused grin on his face. "It's been a while since I've seen a good show."
You chuckle, deciding to play along. "Mmm yeah, hopefully this one's good- you paid a lot of money for the tickets."
Keigo winks. "Anything for you birdie."
You smile warmly and lean against him, nuzzling your head into his shoulder as he wraps an arm around you like it's second nature.
After waiting for a few minutes, your son, Rylan pokes his head out with a grin on his face. "The show will begin shortly, I'm hope you're ready."
You chuckle and watch as your oldest retreats back to the side of the balcony, that obstructs your view, before watching your youngest daughter Yuna walk onto the "stage", with a suspiciously familiar bag in hand, just as Maya's voice is heard.
"Once upon a time there was a lady named... wait what's Mommy's not mommy name?"
"Y/N!" Rylan whispers and you stifle a giggle behind the back of your hand, Keigo's callused fingers rubbing circles on your thigh with an equally amused smirk on his face.
"Ahem, there was a lady named Y/N." Maya clears her throat and continues, as Yuna continues to parade around the balcony.
You giggle, nudging Keigo. "That's me!"
Keigo chuckles at your excitement, kissing the top of your head.
"One day, Y/N is alone in the big city...when she gets attacked by a villain!"
As Maya says this, Rylan leaps out and chases his sister around the balcony, the latter squealing as she grabs her (your) bag and starts whacking her brother's leg.
You snort, recalling the day yourself- you had been on the way back from work that day when you realized a villain was following you. The moment they got too close for comfort, you ended up smacking the life out of them with the bag you had on you.
Just then Maya runs on, looking absolutely adorable in Keigo's hero jacket, striking a pose and you almost want to take a picture.
"Don't worry baby girl, I'll save you!" She says, and your mouth drops open as you start to laugh, Keigo watches the scene, aghast.
"I did not say that!" He whispers to you and you roll your eyes.
"You most definitely did Kei." You say, and he pouts.
Yuna, aka you, delivered one last smack to Rylan, who ran off the "stage", and proceeded to give the sassiest pose, holding her bag like it was a weapon.
"Ugh, I don't need a man to save me." She says, with a disgusted tone, and now it's your turn to gape at her in shock.
"...I didn't sound like that, did I...?" you murmur feeling secondhand embarrassment, and Keigo chuckles, pressing a kiss to your temple.
"Afraid so baby- now you know why it look so long to get you to fall for me." He coos and you roll your eyes, contradicting your words as you snuggle into him further.
Eventually, the show progresses, until they reach the proposal scene. Maya's on one knee while Yuna's standing in front of her.
"I love you so much baby girl while you marry me?" Maya says, hilariously trying to mimic your husband's voice.
"Even my stinky feet?" Yuna asks and Maya nods seriously.
"Love your stinky feet so much, pookieface." she says, and you giggle, Keigo groaning next to you.
"I do not call you pookieface."
You shake your head. "No, your nicknames back then were much worse."
Just as Keigo is about to protest, Yuna aka, you, squeal out a "Yes!!" and starts fake sobbing in happiness.
Now it's your turn to frown, Keigo snickering as you pinch his thigh playfully.
"I did not cry that much."
"On the contrary, love-"
"Shut up Keigo."
Watching your children reenact you and Keigo's history together was...nostalgic to say in the least. Your heart warmed at the sight of the family you have created with the man you loved, surrounded by so much love and warmth - it was perfect.
As the show ends, you snuggle against your husband, who seems to have sensed your thoughts, pressing a loving kiss into your hair and watching your kids run up to you with equally wide smiles on their faces.
If there was anything your kids inherited from you, Keigo thought, it was that gorgeous smile of yours.
Staring at your content form next to him with those soft golden eyes, Keigo knows deep down that even if he didn't swoop down to save you that night, he still would've found his way into your arms, one way or another.

thinkin' about ;;
post-war Hawks, now head of the crumbling Hero's Public Safety Commission, having very little free time anymore. it's ironic really, the man who preached about wanting heroes to have too much free time now has not nearly enough.
it was fine, at first. long days were to be expected immediately following the end of the war. they had cities, a whole nation, to rebuild, laws to rewrite, heroes and villains(?) to take care of. Hawks was okay not having free time, not having a second to breathe.
but, then you came along.
the HPSC needed restructuring, needed to rearrange the hierarchy and positions of its employees to better serve the people of Japan. and there, among the stack of personnel folders on his desk, sat your file.
"interim head of interpersonal– jeez, I don't like this job position already." what a mouthful, he thought while thumbing through your file one late summer evening. a job title that long surely meant it was an important position (it wasn't, not anymore.)
"we need a new head of marketing," Mera Yokumiru drawled from his spot on the other side of Hawks' desk. "or at least an interim one."
marketing. making the heroes look good, showing the public who they are and why they should be supported. hell, why not you? you've an impressive file, one full of accomplishments dating back years with plenty of good graces to boot.
of course, you're the perfect person for the position!
"no, thanks."
Mera all but begged the floor to swallow him whole at your immediate dismissal, the sound of Hawks' surprised squawk not helping.
"what d'ya mean, no thanks?" the head of the commission asked, leaning over the desk you sat behind. "it's a promotion! one that gets you, and your pretty face, out of this dim office for good."
not even looking up, far too focused on your current position's work, you wave him off dismissively. "I'm good where I'm at," you said. "I don't need to be in the light, I'll live. find someone else."
he didn't. well, he tried to the best of his ability but no one was you. Hawks made it his mission then, when he wasn't busy being President Hawks, to convince you to take the promotion.
he tried gifts (they sat on your desk unopened or distributed to your coworkers), conversations (you frequently dismissed him), and even bribes! (Mera had to drag him away.) but, as time went on Hawks had a hard time making time for you.
it was frustrating, honestly. Hawks wanted nothing more than to find a way to get you to listen, to get you to pay attention and hear him out, but there was just no time.
he was going to change that.
who knew that it would take finding your file in a stack of a hundred that would finally make him fight for free time again.
♡ any likes or shares would be appreciated. thank you for reading, see you later. ☁︎

A Meaningful Gift

Ever since losing his quirk during the war, your boyfriend was never quite the same. Losing his wings the first time was hard enough, but at least they made somewhat of a return with his smaller and narrower pair. This time, his wings were completely destroyed with absolutely no chance of coming back. Those radiant scarlet appendages were everything; his identity, the source of his quirk, and his icon both as a hero and a person. Who was he without his flight? What good is a bird of prey if it falls to the level of its flightless kin? Lately, he’d been feeling useless and broken. But to you, his partner, he was the same man you’d fallen in love with; he always would be.
Recently, you spotted something online and knew you needed to buy it immediately. Luckily when you’d approached him and asked for his measurements, he didn’t bat an eye. Both Christmas and his birthday were approaching fast, and he’d made the assumption you were buying him some new clothes; he did need new shirts without holes in the back anyway. Of course you had bought some clothes as well, but this one was something special. You were crossing your fingers that this would make him happy- you’d been trying everything to bring that charming smile back onto your lover’s face, but you hadn’t seen it in so long you’d been starting to forget what it looked like.
If you were brutally honest with yourself…his change in demeanor was putting a strain on your relationship. You knew this was something he couldn’t help; it’s expected to be depressed from grieving over the loss of a sense of identity. But…the time you spent together started to dwindle. Not only were you going out together significantly less, but your life in the bedroom had taken a severe hit. Only months ago you were making passionate love for hours, but now he’d hardly even kiss you goodnight. Every time you asked him if he wanted to talk about his feelings or if you could help him in any way, he’d just brush you off.
Your heart and body yearned for the way things were in your early relationship, with burning devotion and a youthful giddiness. The way you felt about him was something you’d never quite felt with anyone before, and you’d do anything to keep from losing someone who meant the world to you.
As you’re sitting on the couch, your phone lights up with the notification that your order was delivered. You hop up excitedly to make your way over, opening the door and picking up the package. It looked so plain and unassuming- one would never be able to tell what the intimate contents were inside just from looking at it. Walking to the dining table, you find a pair of scissors to cut the tape around the edges and lift the lid, gasping at how beautiful it was in-person. You pull it out of the fancy tissue paper and turn it in your hands to get a good look at it.
An elegant red leather harness with small wings protruding from the back. Wings that looked so much like his.
-
“Hey birdie.” You greet your boyfriend as he gently closes the front door from being out making appearances- despite being retired, he still had quite a bit of publicity work to do. His face briefly tenses at the nickname; in his eyes, he’s not your birdie anymore. He’s not a birdie at all. He lets you continue to use it because he knows you find it cute, but on the inside he wants to say he’s not worthy of that name anymore. He silently gives you a small kiss on the cheek, gently placing his hand on your waist and stroking it for a moment before heading towards your shared bedroom.
“Wait.”
He stops walking and turns to you with a hint of inquisitiveness in his eyes. “Hm?”
You nod to the couch with your head, asking him to move in the direction. “C’mere. Sit with me. I’ve got something for you. For us, I guess.” You offer him an affectionate look with a soft smile. Now curious, he walks over to sit on the soft seat, resting his arms on his knees as he bends over slightly. Making room for large wings was second-nature to him, but he often forgot he no longer needed to accommodate for them. He sighs, remembering the empty space behind him, leaning back and crossing his legs. “What is it?”
You start to feel anxious as the reality of this was finally hitting you. Would he like it or would it just traumatize him further? Would he be offended? At such a sensitive time in your relationship, this could make or break everything. Well…it’s too late to back down.
“You know Christmas and your birthday are around the corner, and I found something online that made me think of you. I wanted to wait, but I got too excited.” You chuckle nervously as you reach under the piece of furniture, pulling out a medium flat box, adorned with a shiny bow. “I’m sorry if you don’t like it. Honestly, if it makes you mad…I would understand that too.” The box is passed to his scarred hands from your shaking ones as he takes in the pretty packaging. The golden eyes of the exhausted man observe the bow of the matching color, humming. “It’s pretty.”
You smile with a huff. “Yeah. The gift is on the inside, though.”
He snorts, the first time you’ve heard even a hint of a laugh from him for weeks. Your heart flutters with that same feeling it had every time he laughed when you had a crush on him so long ago, unbelieving it would ever be mutual with someone as wonderful as him.
He slowly unties the bow with his fingers, delicately opening the lid as if it were made of glass. He takes in a gentle gasp as his brows raise in surprise. He turns it around a few times and closely inspects the wings on the back, tears pricking in the corners of his eyes. He curls his lips in, trying so hard not to do what he’s been wanting to do most for so long.
“Oh my god.”
A single tear runs down his cheek and he knows he’s done for. The walls he’s had up ever since his career came down have finally begun to crumble as he leans on your shoulder, softly weeping into the crook of your neck. Your heart pounds hard in fear as you take a moment to wrap your head around what’s happening. “Did I fuck up? I’m so fucking sorry, I never meant-”
He drops the harness onto his lap, taking your face into his hands as he presses his quivering lips to yours. This is by far the most he’s expressed himself in a long time, and your intense pulse of fear switches to one of love. Your hands instinctively move to embrace him, one wrapping around him and the other weaving your fingers through his hair as the two of you share a kiss that feels like the first time all over again.
He loves it.
Parting from the kiss, your eyes meet with his and you let out a relieved laugh. “I was so scared when you started crying.” He chuckles in response, sniffling with a small smile. “No, no baby, I…it’s…beautiful. I don’t deserve you.”
“Yes you do,” you respond with a bump on the forehead and a kiss to his nose. “My pretty birdie.”
His smile fades a bit, his amber gaze falling to the floor; he chews on his bottom lip as the tears on his face continue to fall. “No…I’m not. I’m not anyone’s birdie anymore.”
You shake your head, tutting as you move your other arm down, wrapping him in a tighter embrace. “Hey, don’t talk like that. You’ll always be my birdie. Always.” You sit up, sliding your hands around to the front of his waist and wrap your fingers around the bottom of his shirt, pulling it up just an inch. “You wanna put it on?”
He sniffles again, nodding and wiping away a tear from his cheek with the back of his hand. “Yeah…yeah.”
Lifting his shirt up and over his head, you can see the major scars littering his back; the burns from the first time still clearly visible, as well as the ones from the final war. You place a few kisses to his exposed back before leaning in to whisper into his ear affectionately. “Thank you for letting me see you like this…I’m sure it’s hard.” He nods with a deep breath. You’ve seen his back a million times, but never after the last war. He pulls the leather straps over his head, finding the right places to stick his arms through.
He feels nervous and vulnerable as he sits and waits patiently for you to tighten the straps. When you're finished, you wrap your arms around him from behind, giving him a soft kiss on his neck. “You look beautiful, my love.” You place another kiss, smiling against his skin. “My birdie.”
You swear you hear him whine in response.
He turns his face slightly, his cheeks adorned with a red dusting as he smiles a little. “Yeah?”
You gently stroke his waist before moving your hands to his torso, petting affectionately. “Yeah.”
He reaches back, scratching your scalp as the blush on his face deepens. “Do you…do you remember that leash we used to use?”
You blink. “Like, during sex? I…yeah. What, you wanna…..”
He gulps. “Yeah….yeah, I miss that. It was nice.”
“You know, I gotta say…I was anticipating a lot of different reactions, but ‘turned on’ wasn’t one of them.”
You both share a laugh for a moment before your gazes meet and soften. He scratches the back of his neck awkwardly, looking away in embarrassment. “I know it’s been awhile since…we’ve done anything, it’s fine if you don’t wanna. ’Specially since I was just, you know, crying and all.”
“No, no, it’s okay…I want to.” Your lips find their way to his neck again, this time more sensual and lingering a little bit longer. You haven’t been able to kiss him like this in a long time, and now that he wants it, you can feel yourself heating up quickly. You kiss his neck again, biting down gently and sucking. This time, his whine is clearly audible.
Talking in a low and intimate tone, you speak softly against his neck. “Let’s go to the bedroom…I still remember where the leash is.” A small happy chirp escapes him- despite losing his quirk and wings, his subtle bird-like tendencies still ran in his DNA. You scoop him up into your arms, carrying him bridal style as he looks into your eyes like you hung the stars in the sky. His love for you never left- it was just buried under the rubble of the war. All he needed was a little help to dig up and find the surface.
You nudge the door open with your knee, setting him down on the sheets gently. You place a small kiss on his forehead with a smile, stroking his chest before standing up to make your way over to the closet and rummage around.
“Where is it….aha!”
The glint of the chain catches your eye, and you pull it out of the corner, awkwardly wiping off the dust with your fingers. It wasn’t anything fancy, just a silver chain leash with a black leather handle, but it was enough for the both of you to enjoy using. He was more of a giver in bed, and he especially loved when you’d attach the leash to a pretty collar and order him to do things to you while playing up on his bird-like tendencies.
“Hm…so this is what you missed?” You turn around, holding the leash wrapped around your fingers, wiggling your hand playfully with a smirk. Your eyes can’t help but take notice of the visible tent already present in his pants. Looking back up at his face, his blush has deepened and he has a bashful smile. He nods, acutely aware that you could tell how excited he was.
You attach the clasp to the metal ring on the center of his chest with a soft click as he looks up at you with the biggest innocent doe eyes you’ve ever seen. Putting him in this mindset again has him remembering just how enamored he is with you. You’ve always been so sweet to him, taking such good care of him and treating him like the pretty bird he is. He sighs and hums as you stroke his cheek, closing his eyes as he slowly falls deeper into subspace. “Hmmm…”
You chuckle, letting go of the leash for just a moment as you pull your clothes off and kick them to the side. Picking the leash back up, you tap his chin.
“C’mon baby bird, open your eyes. I want those pants off, now.”
He nods quickly as he lifts his hips off the bed, pulling down his pants and freeing his erection. He was clearly very excited by the way it stood completely upright, standing tall and proud with a reddened head. You lick your lips and gaze down at him with heavy eyes. “Someone’s eager, isn’t he~?”
He whimpers, nodding again rapidly, his painfully hard cock twitching at your words alone. “Didn’t realize how much I needed you. ‘S been so long. I need you bad, baby.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“What do you need then, hm?”
He swallows, his expression that of a needy puppy as he looks up at you with pleading eyes. “I need…I need to be inside you, please…I miss it so much…please…”
“....please what?”
“Please….master.”
“Good boy.” You finally join him on the bed, crawling up to the pillows as you lay on your back with open legs and pull on the leash, asking him to move on top of you. “Come.”
He instinctually responds with a choked whimper as he crawls on all fours up to you. You spread your folds for him to see, and his pupils blow wide from seeing you were just as excited as he was. He lines his now leaking cock up to your entrance, pushing in with a long moan from the both of you. You hadn’t felt the pleasant stretch of his cock in ages and it felt like heaven.
Once snugly nestled entirely inside of you, your eyes meet as you sigh. You hum softly as you stroke his cheek, and he leans into the touch with a subtle chirp. You sneak your fingers up to run your fingertips through his tawny locks, as soft as ever- he’d been growing it out again and it was almost to the length it used to be.
You pull his head down to meet his plush lips with yours; as your lips slowly press against one another, he starts to move his hips, slow enough that you could feel every inch every time it slid in and out of you. You could feel the perfect stretch on every inward thrust and it made you gasp every time. Parting from the kiss, you lean your head back into the pillow underneath you and keep a strong grip on the handle of the leash as you wrap your legs around his waist.
“Good boy…that’s a good fucking boy…”
Upon hearing the praise, he starts to thrust a bit faster and with more vigor, clearly motivated by your encouraging words. “Y-yeah? I’m your good boy?”
You chuckle, nodding as you moan a bit louder, your body being pushed back and forth with the force of his body moving against yours. “Oh yes, so good for me, my pretty birdie. My good little baby bird. Keep going, you feel so good…”
Your praise and motivational words make him even more eager to please you, wanting to make up for every moment of intimacy you both had lacked for a while. He places his hands on your hips, thrusting as hard as he possibly could, feeling his sanity and ability to hold back slipping away.
“W-wanna make you feel so good, master…a-are you feeling good?”
You could barely make out words anymore as your eyes roll back into your head with the intense pleasure, only being able to respond with a meek nod and a few shaky words. “G-good…r..rub my clit…please…”
He nods, reaching a hand down to press his thumb against the sensitive bud. You respond with a loud cry as you pull on the leash, craving his lips on your exposed skin. He complies obediently, placing warm and wet kisses along your neck and collarbone while continuing to fuck into you like his life depended on it; right now, every bone in his body wanted only to please you. Nothing more, nothing less.
You feel a familiar tightening in your core, and you don’t even have enough time to warn him before your climax crashes over you. One hand grips onto the leash and pulls him impossibly closer, the other wrapping around him and holding onto the harness for dear life as your orgasm completely takes hold of your body. He closely follows suit, pressing his hips against you as hard as he can, filling you with his cum with a drawn-out shaky moan. A wave of euphoria synchronizes your bodies as you both orgasm simultaneously, uniting once again after such a long time without.
He stays inside you for another minute, laying on top of you with a satisfied exhale. “Fuck…that was incredible. I love you so much.”
Your fingers find their way into his hair again, and you turn to look at him with a tender and loving smile. “I love you too.”
You reach down to unclip the leash, but keep the harness on; it was clear that wearing it would help him cope a little easier. It seemed that all your boyfriend needed was just a little reminder that he would always be loved, no matter what.
Wings or not, he would always be your pretty birdie.

Keigo Takami.
The #2 Hero.
The Winged man that goes too fast in his line of work and in life.
Yet every time he stops by your place; your shared place, he goes at a somewhat normal pace. The norm of being with you made him want to relish in every moment spent together.
Letting the balcony doors open to let out the steam of cooking was one thing. Being his personal doorway in was the better fun option.
The place was always cozy and warm when it's you two.
But dating a pro means lots of patrols, late nights handling cases, and dangerous missions facing criminals and villains from all walks of life.
Like right now.
The worldwide operation of defeating the terrorist cult organization Humarise from activating their Trigger bombs designed to release gas that drives all Quirk users who inhale the gas to go berserk as their chemically enhanced powers toxically overwhelm them.
The World Heroes Association mobilized heroes around the world to seize those bombs along with every member and ally of the group.
Thankfully, the bombs were defused.
The world was averted from disaster.
Despite the official reports the news covered on the event, in your heart, you knew there was more to it.
So you felt your heart soar over the moon when the sight of red and yellow was caught from the corner of your eye by the balcony.
“Hey baby bird.”
Standing right there outside, he bowed to you, a gloved hand offered to you.
“Miss me?”
Your feet moved on their own. Water clouded your eyes. He caught your running self jumping into his arms with ease, swinging you side by side, gently squeezing you in kind.
“I did.” You mumbled in his neck, kissing his skin showing there, feeling his warm beating pulse against your lips.
“I missed you too. So damn much.” His stubbled chin brushed your cheek before planting several smooches there.
The anxious tension filling his heart ever since this Humarise operation began would not rest until he saw you again with his own eyes. And it did.
“Congrats on the success of your mission.” Your proud smile beamed up at him, earning a blush tinting his ears, his neck, and his cheeks.
His bashful grin rewarded you. “Thanks. It was a worldwide team effort, though.”
“I love you Kei.” Your tight squeeze of a hug made your birdman wheeze out at the surprising strength it held.
His wings surrounded you as he squeezed you right back. “I love you too, Y/n.”
You two would spend the remainder of the night cuddling, a comfy blanket shared by you both, as you let the TV run in the background, until you both finally conked out.
Tonight he got to spend with you safe and sound in his arms at last.

a shiver ran across hawks’ skin as he lay in bed; after such an eventful fight with a villain beforehand, it was a real wonder that he’d managed to get so much time off, rut symptoms aside. regardless, once he’d tossed them at the policeman waiting, he’d taken off, calling the hpsc as he did to tell them his rut was imminent ( as in a couple hours away at best ) so they could black out his schedule, and they’d done so. keigo had returned to his penthouse and had taken up his right to bask in the sanctity that lay between his lover’s legs, his animalistic urge to breed taking over only forty-five minutes after he arrived home. he’d found her already ready, as she always was, and then the needs had taken over.
his memory was always fuzzy after they did, and he always depended on y/n to remember everything to retell it to him. she was the only person he had ever allowed to spend his ruts with him, so that alone was enough for him to trust her completely when it came to her informing him of what happened whenever he went under.
he glances at the screen of his phone as it lights up with one of a million notifications, his eyes catching the date as well as the mention of the league of villains having been spotted in the kanto region, but he turns away. y/n had made him promise no work when he went through his cycles, he’d even used to lock his phone away in a little automated lock box to make sure he kept to it — he couldn’t be weak now, she was here, in his bed, wrapped in his bedding and his clothes and his scent.
“keigo?” comes his lover’s voice from behind him, and he takes a deep breath before completely relaxing into the arms that snaked their way around his body. that’s right, he wasn’t hawks here, because he didn’t have to be — he was just keigo. y/n’s keigo.
with a smile on his face, he carefully rolls over in her arms, his eyes shining when they meet hers. she’s still tired, the fog of sleep clinging to her eyes, but still she worries for him despite not even being completely aware of her surroundings. her sense of urgency when it came to him always made him feel mushy inside; no one had ever really bothered with him in that way before.
“hey there, sweetheart,” he says softly through a half-assed smile. she squints at him slightly, reading his face with an ease that had made him deeply uncomfortable at the beginning of their relationship that now only served to strengthen it; hawks knew now that her knowing how he was feeling without him saying it played well into both of their strengths and weaknesses at this point.
“what’s wrong?” she asks quietly, her scratchy-sounding voice echoing the sore throat that was the result of the strain that had been put on it after the brutal facefucking she’d received from him only a few hours before when his rut had been at its peak; the merciless breeding he’d put her cunt through had had her screaming, which was probably also a contributing factor, and while his inner beast preened at the knowledge that her hole was well-bred and still leaking his cum, keigo couldn’t hold back the stabbing guilt that coursed through him. his gaze darkens as he looks down at the bruises littering her throat where he’d gripped it as he’d fucked his fourth load in her, and the stinging sensation of oncoming tears overcomes him.
she was in pain, and it was his fault — his fault for not holding back his urges, for using her like a tool when she was nothing close. it didn’t matter that she’d genuinely asked for it, had begged for him to let her help him through his rut cycle as always, she always ended up worse for wear, and keigo always swore it would be the last time… but he always fell back in the cycle for taking out his more animalistic urges on her, and she always paid the price.
just like they had always told him, he was bad. only bad people hurt the ones they loved. was he even worse than his parents? they hadn’t loved him, so he had to be. he was.
the realization hurt.
“why do you love me?” hawks whispers, tears shimmering in his eyes. he just can’t comprehend why she ever would. he expects a quip of some kind, possibly a little rude remark to tease him, or even her maybe miraculously ignoring it — she did so hate it when he asked questions like this, but hawks knew that she would never ignore such a handful of words just as surely as he couldn’t help saying them. it didn’t matter if she told him how deeply she cared for him once or a million times, he’d always be surprised when she uttered those three words to him.
her eyes are soft when she replies, “because you’re a good person,” and her words are all it takes for his stiff body to collapse into her hold as he begins crying earnestly into her shoulder. he can feel her wrap her arms around him, her voice soft as she shushes him gently without the intention of actually quieting him.
he doesn’t deserve this, doesn’t deserve her, hawks knows that. it doesn’t matter that he can be keigo to her, or that she most definitely is the only takami to actually love him, no. she deserves better than him, the son of two penniless scumbags who used their useless, waste-of-space child as a bargaining chip for their own freedom… but she chooses him. it doesn’t matter if he rages, because she soothes him. when he falls apart, she puts him back together again. when he finds himself missing something he doesn’t quite understand, she offers herself up as the perfect piece to fit the jigsaw puzzle of his life.
it takes some time before he’s calm again, but eventually he is, if a little shaky. “h-happy valentine’s day,” he whispers into her bruised throat, speaking of the date he’d seen when his phone had lit up, and she chuckles lowly while running her fingers through his hair and nuzzling her nose against his temple.
“happy valentine’s day, keigo,” she murmurs into his hair, and he sniffles as a new onslaught of tears threatens to overtake him. he didn’t want to cry again, really he didn’t…
“i love you,” he whimpers, unspeakably vulnerable, and he feels her hum lightly against him..
“i know,” is her only response, and he crumbles again, clinging to her like a lost man to religion — because that’s what she is, really. keigo spends his days, his life, worshiping her as she more than deserves — her, the deity he’d follow blindfolded with all senses stolen from him.
her, the only one who had ever stayed.
“make love to me, please,” she asks quietly, interrupting his thoughts. he protests at first, sure that she was too achy for something so trying, but she locks eyes with him and insists, her wants and desires clear. and fuck, even if keigo couldn’t be the man she deserved, the least he could do was make her happy as best he was able. if lovemaking was what she ( and, truthfully, he too ) wanted, then lovemaking she’d get.
he carefully eases his cock, currently hard from the need that was already creeping up on him again, into her soft cunt, and she sighs softly as he fills her out perfectly. keigo squeezes his eyes shut, taking deep breaths and fighting off the whine at the back of his throat at how good she felt around him before slowly beginning to move, his hips pulling back only to slowly meet hers again. soft sighs and moans of pleasure left her lips, pairing beautifully with his own light grunts and groans as the muscle beneath his right eyebrow began to twitch; it always did this when he was close, and he always came so much easier during his cycles, but he had to hold out for her — he wanted her to cum first, wanted to watch her fall apart in his arms, so he holds himself back.
“you’re so, so good, keigo,” she murmurs breathily, a soft whine to her words as pleasure courses through her body. “so good, so sweet.”
“m-mine!” he whimpers into her flesh, softly mouthing at the line of bruised bites that ran across her collarbone, and she sighs happily with a simple smile on her face.
“all yours, my dove,” she whispers, her head tilting back as she gives up any further attempts to speak. keigo is all moans and whimpers anyway, and her point has been made regardless of whether or not she spoke any more.
before long y/n finally cums around him, long past the point of overstimulation and easily aroused, and keigo follows suit. the thick cord that had drawn tighter and tighter in his stomach at every gentle thrust of his hips against hers had snapped just as the knot in y/n’s own tummy had been pulled taut so suddenly moments before. keigo fills her yet again with a long, drawn out cry as she spasms around him, his cum seeping from her insides around his cock with each bout of her tightening up, and his heart races against hers through both of their ribcages.
he presses their foreheads together as they both come down from their respective highs, their noses slotted perfectly as their chests heave in tandem. his eyes are open, hazing into her own as she looks up at him with stars in her eyes, a smile in them just as bright as the sun though her soft lips are slack and at ease as she studies him. she breaks his gaze as she dips her head forward to kiss him, her own soft ones clashing ever so slowly with the wind-chapped skin of his own. they stay like this for a long moment, simply basking in one another’s existence as they share their kiss, before y/n slowly pulls back ever so slightly — not even half an inch is between them, and their lips still touch, but regardless it is enough.
“i’ll love you forever, kei’,”she whispers into his lips, and a new, single tear falls from his cheek to hers before dripping down, soaking slowly into her skin as keigo closes his eyes.
“and i you,” he whispers, before kissing her again and whispering a soft, “forever,” into her mouth.
yes, forever. that sounded perfect.

Are we human, still? (have we become something more?)
This is how it feels to take a fall - series masterlist here
pairing: takami keigo x reader (gender neutral)
length: 1.3k
genre: hurt/comfort
warnings: allusions to death in that it's abt being a pro hero and not being able to save everybody, how are you supposed to save other people when you can't even save yourself
a/n: you all have to suffer more hawks from me forever and ever I'm so sorry it never goes away
"You can't save everyone," Keigo's voice feels louder than it should, pushing past the rushing of blood in your ears as you stand and stare at the scene in front of you.
"Fuck you," is all you respond with. It was supposed to be harsh, but there's a tired breathiness to your voice that you can't shake. He doesn't hold it against you.
"Dove? Hey - look at me. It wasn't your fault," Keigo says firmly, tearing one of his gloves off to gently cup your face in his hand, trying to ground you and get you to listen.
The lights of the police cars bathe his face in blue, then red, then blue again, and the sirens wail loudly enough that they almost drown out the voice of a woman crying - a woman who just lost someone she loved because you couldn't get to them in time.
"The press is waiting for me," you say in lieu of addressing anything real. Keiog's eyes flit over your face wildly.
"I'll make a statement for you."
"I don't think that's how it works."
"It is today." He doesn't give you much time to argue it, leaving you in the hands of the paramedics who need to check you over while he makes his way over to the swarming press. He's worried about you - desperately so. He's never seen you like this - not in the short time that you've been together and certainly not before that, when the two of you were merely rivals, competitors on a public stage.
There's a thrumming under Keigo's skin, a burning sort of itch that ignites him as he waves down the swarm of press, angling it all away from you. It's this need he has to take care of you, to use his hands for something good. He wonders, in a sort of panic, if this is what love feels like. Fortunately, he doesn't really have the time to think about it.
By the time he gets back to you, you're sitting in the back of the ambulance, a never-ending back and forth of the paramedic laying a shock blanket over your shoulders and you shrugging it off playing before his eyes. An assistant from your agency is talking to you, frowning and shifting on her feet as she types away on her tablet and you stare vaguely past her.
"Hey, you," Keigo says gently when he gets to you. He almost feels bad about pushing past your assistant, about moving in front of her so that he can lean down to look at you - but the way you look at him, through him, changes his mind. "You all cleared?"
"They couldn't find anything wrong with me," is how you answer, and Keigo finds himself relieved to know you so well, to be able to parse the jumble of words that have your assistant humming in confusion and tapping her nails against her tablet.
They couldn't find anything wrong with me, and Keigo can almost hear the part that you didn't say. The problem is just me. There's nothing to explain it, nothing to justify it. It's just me.
"It wasn't your fault," he says again, like it'll make some kind of difference. Somewhere in the background, a police officer pushes the crowd back and your hands twitch in your lap. "You did everything you could."
"I don't think that matters," you shake your head, moving it like it'll rattle out the memories of today. "It wasn't enough."
"It has to be," Keigo says, and he surprises himself with the earnest tilt to his voice. It has to be, because it's all we're capable of. Because I can't lose you to this the way that I've lost myself.
"And what happens when it's not?" You fire back, and Keigo would be relieved at the light that's starting to come back to your eyes if the question didn't catch him so off guard, if he had some kind of answer to give you - to give himself.
"That's…" he starts, and when he catches his reflection in the ambulance window, he has to stop himself from flinching. "That's something that we have to figure out, I guess," he finishes haltingly. Something in you softens, brings you back to where you should be as you watch his wild eyes flit around, the way his wings twitch nervously against his back as he shifts and stands taller.
He's never dealt with this, you remind yourself. It's not that he's never been here, been the one to fail, but he's never really dealt with it before. Maybe you can't expect him to be able to deal with it for you when you can't.
"It's ok, Hawks," you say gently, and a pointed look at the assistant still hovering has her stepping back, clearing her throat and announcing that she has to make a call before she disappears around the side of the ambulance. You reach forward, letting your fingers brush against Keigo's clenched fist while he stares at you.
How am I supposed to look at you, he thinks. How am I supposed to be anything to you when I can't even be anything for myself? Your hand brushes against his and he wills his fist to unfurl, lets you tug off his glove so that you can intertwine your fingers with his and feel skin on skin.
It's almost like I'm human, his brain supplies weakly. It's almost like I'm something real and worth touching.
"Love -" he starts, his voice lurching as he looks at you. You, sitting in the back of an ambulance with a blanket draped over your shoulders, another fight that you couldn't win today, and he's panicking and spiralling and pulling away. The police lights flash around you, blue and then red and then blue again - but Keigo's frame blocks the light from you, lets you look up at him in the unwavering white light of the back of the ambulance. He wonders, in a panicked sort of way, what else he's sheltered you from. As you pull his arm forward to plant a delicate kiss to the inside of his wrist, he wonders if this shield of his is really such a good thing.
What sort of light am I keeping from you, he thinks. What sort of love am I hiding in the dark?
"Keigo," the name is whispered so softly against the soft skin of his inner wrist - so quietly that he can feel your lips moving more than he can hear it. Any other time, he'd be tempted to chide you for using his name where others could hear. Now, though, it feels like too much of a blessing to be known for him to want to complain.
He says your name in return and a police siren wails loudly. He almost feels like he's human. You almost look like you are, too.
"I think it's time to go home," you say gently, and the weariness in your voice has him wiggling his wrist out of your grip to step closer to you and hold your face in his palms, eyeing the fatigue in your eyes and the slump of your shoulders.
Home, he thinks, hears the word with a rattling sort of clarity as you reach up to cup your hands over his where they hold your face. There is somewhere to call home for us, after all.
Maybe you need to be reminded of it, too. Maybe that's where that layer of desperation in your voice comes from. Keigo tugs you up, pulling the blanket off your shoulders and tucking you under his wing, instead, and you find yourself a bit closer to home already.

birds of a feather | takami keigo
synopsis ↬ keigo adores your wings
warnings ↬ none ! a short idea of hawks and a winged reader, a few swear words
pairings ↬ takami keigo x winged!vigilante!reader
word count ↬ 4.5k
Working in Kyushu, Keigo was not a stranger to the impressive and unique quirks possessed by its citizens. Some strange and practically useless while others seemed to the epitome of wasted potential. He learned this all from observing the bustling city while perched at the highest points of skyscrapers. Staring down with his golden orbs, hidden from the view of cameras and nosy civilians. It felt refreshing to take a break. To exhale the stresses of the day and reminisce on his failures while hoping that tomorrow would be better. His red wings, although covered under the dark night sky, seemed to glow as they tucked into his body.
Keigo watched and waited for a call of despair. Someone to bring him out of his thoughts as he swooped down to aid them. Yet it never came, and for one night he could rest peacefully.
The morning soon approached, and he found himself lounging in Endeavor’s office. For the first time, his heavy wings seemed reluctant to unfold and fly to his destination. He didn’t want to return to the headquarters of Commission, that could wait until later. Keigo’s role model didn’t seem too pleased with his sudden desire to distract himself from work. He would’ve forced the young hero out of his office, but knowing how persistent Keigo is, Endeavor allowed him to stay.
Until the flatscreen television hanging on the brown walls began flashing with breaking news:
‘School Attacked by a Lone Villain in Kyushu. Students And Nearby Residents Injured’
Keigo could feel the blazing heat erupting from the skin of the older hero as they both watched on, stunned. A chilling sense of guilt erupted through his spirit. While the town he swore to protect was crumbling, he was nowhere present. A news anchor reported that the heroes in the area were in need of assistance and the Number 2 hero was missing. Unlike his usual demeanor, Keigo was too transfixed on the bright screen to listen to his surroundings. The young hero that seemed to take life too 'fast' found his wings bound and stiff, scared yet unmotivated to move.
“Endeavor, the heroes in Kyushu are requesting back up!” A lime-green haired sidekick burst through the door unannounced. The flames on her head flickered in distress and anguish. “There are reports of more villains in the area!”
“Got it. Dispatch the other sidekicks to Kyushu.” Endeavor turned his head towards Keigo, who was surprisingly still resting in his office. “Hawks? Hawks...?”
Calling the avian hero’s name was a waste; the words went in one of his ears and out the other. Instead, his eyes were glued to the screen. As every second passed, there were new images and updates appearing. Keigo’s shattering heart failed to take notice of Endeavor’s presence. His wings began to seize up briefly; they weren't moving but felt as if they were constricting his lungs.
As he soon began to reawaken from his thoughts of self-loathing, a picture emerged on the television that regained his attention — even making the flame hero next to him stare on in curiosity:
There you were, arms full and clutching numerous children as you escaped the burning school behind them. Each of them clung to your body in desperation as if it would be their last day. You pulled them closer to you in a painfully tight embrace while shielding them from the explosion behind, too scared that they would somehow injure themselves. As the image zoomed out, he felt his heart jitter at the sight of falling feathers coming off your back.
Your wings expanded and stretched out covering the students in your arms. The size could easily compete with his own; Keigo was certain that you surpassed him in width. You were holding them mid-flight, suspended in the air and fleeing from chaos. He didn’t understand why your face filled with an expression of pain until he noticed orange patches of flames cover some of your feathers. He knew from his own experience that they would eventually turn to ashes, but you didn’t seem to care.
In the photo, your face was covered by the dust and rubble of exploding debris. Your head tilted downwards, only displaying a large frown and gritted teeth. Some wounds on your body gushed with blood — a sharp contrast to the children who were unscathed under the shield of your wings. Only your body, which unnaturally contorted in an oddly graceful position, could be seen clearly. Your clothing was a cheaply made costume. It was quite obvious that you weren't a professional or well-known, but your movements showed nothing but pure skill.
The news aired more videos of the attack, your wings were the center of attention for Keigo's eyes. After rescuing the children in your arms, you immediately flew back into the school. Moving too fast for the camera, too fast for Keigo to see your face and majestic movements. Only a blur of your wings was captured by the cameras. You kept going, although your body ached. While the heroes in Kyushu were too busy keeping the villains at bay, your prime focus became saving the lives of the children.
Endeavor's fingers wrapped tightly around Keigo's arm before shaking him violently to pull him out of his trance. He shouted at the younger man and dragged him from his seat to accompany the rest of his sidekicks on their quick trip to Kyushu.
As his wings braced the harsh sky, they flew with an unknown sense of vigor. Soaring past tall skyscrapers that blocked his route to your destination. A glimmer of red was the only thing caught by the eyes of passersby. Keigo desperately wanted to know your identity and see you flying in person.
When he landed on the scene, one of the first heroes to arrive, the cries of some injured civilians first caught his attention. Red feathers plucked from his wings hooked under each person, raising them off the ground, and taking them to safety. Endeavor, his sidekicks, and other heroes dealt with the villains causing terror while Keigo and a few others prioritized rescue. Bustling to try and aid every wounded person, he couldn’t help but search for your majestic wings in the process.
You were no where to be found.
Vanishing into the cloudy sky once you finished your duties of the day. You made sure every single student was cared for and taken out of the building to a safe location. As if his luck was nonexistent, you took off just as he landed. If his gaze was focused on the clouds, he would’ve seen you floating above them like an angel.
The rescue finished with ease and all of the villains responsible were captured. Another routine day on the job for the others, but not for Keigo. The image of your expanded wings covering the children replayed in his mind over again, making a chill run down his spine and causing his wings to shudder. Of course, he wasn’t the only being mesmerized by your heroic performance.
From the media, to hero agencies looking to scout you, and to the parents of the students you saved wanting to thank you; everyone was transfixed on learning about the new avian hero. You were the first to arrive before anyone else, faster than Keigo who received harsh criticism for his disappearance. There was no hero name assigned to you and every single picture of you in action had your blurred your face.
The headlines of the news for the following days of the attack only focused on you:
‘Unknown Hero Bravely Rescues Students from Blazing Building’
‘Has A New Avian Hero Appeared? Shocking Details Emerge of Kyushu’s Next Hero Who Saved Children Resulting in No Casualties’
‘Is The New Winged-Hero Related to Hawks? Reports From Kyushu Believe That They Will Become His Replacement’
Of course, you were now obviously linked with Keigo. His coincidental arrival after your departure only caused these rumors to spread like wildfire. Various ones suggesting that you two were siblings or even married. Neither was true. You’d never met him before, only seeing him on television a few times just like he saw you.
Upon arriving to Commission’s headquarters, Keigo demanded a search for you. At first, they seemed reluctant but seeing his frantic state, they obliged. After extensive searching, finally they managed to retrieve a profile of someone who matched your details to a perfection. The giveaway being your stunning wings outstretched for a mandatory photo displaying your quirk.
Your name, address, age, and birthplace were all accessible for him to see. To his surprise, you weren’t from Kyushu — only passing through the town briefly. Your movements were always sporadic, a new town every few days and rarely captured on camera. Apparently, there were other sightings of your wings during minor altercations with villains or civilians in danger. Yet, you constantly wore a mask that covered your entire face. Then, Keigo realized…
You were a vigilante.
Unlicensed 'heroes' that acted without focusing on the law; no wonder Commission tried to keep you a secret from him. Although you wanted to stay hidden, they managed to collect vast amounts of information about you. Every single detail they could get their hands on. Apparently, they wanted to offer you a position as a hero under them, just like Keigo. To train and mold you under his wing; each display of your actions made them more interested in you.
In exchange, any pending charges on you for your illegal hero work would be erased. There was no way you could refuse, and even if you did, they would keep pressing. You were an opportunity that no one wanted to waste.
Commission last captured you entering a small clinic in Kyushu. Keigo figured you were still in the area, the burns to your wings were too severe for you to ignore. You weren’t seen leaving any exit of the clinic; it was only a matter of time before you flew off into the clouds again.
His wings moved before his mind was set. Unsure of where you were, Keigo knew he had to find you before you disappeared again. It wasn’t possible for you to go far, he thought. The burns on your wings made him wince; it was the enemy of your kind. Flying past the tall skyscrapers and through the dark sky clouding over Kyushu. Keigo’s flaw was being fast, just ‘too fast’. Not even his own sidekicks could keep up.
The clinic was in his view, right under him. A few of his usual fan girls screamed out his name once they saw him land. The Commission would be on him any minute if they knew what he did — a quick greeting before brushing past the eager fans wanting pictures and autographs.
There was no time, you had to be here. Just as he came to the front door, Keigo was spotted by another fan working inside.
“Hawks!? What are you doing here?” A receptionist asked, nearly spilling her drink. “Do you need help?”
“No, no… I’m looking for someone.” Keigo proceeded to tell her about you, your appearance, and the majestic wings that took his breath away.
“They were just here a minute ago. You’re too late. They wanted treatment for their wounds but refused to give identification.”
Too late. The first time he’s ever heard those words used in the same sentence as his name.
“Shit.” The receptionist kept pressing him, but Keigo was already behind. “Thanks, but I need to go.”
As soon as the cold night’s air hit his face, he was in the air. Extending his crimson wings at their full length as he entered the sky. Keigo scanned every corner and rooftop he could. You needed medication for your wings, so you most likely couldn’t fly. It shouldn’t be hard to spot you, if that was the case. The blinding lights of Kyushu strained his tired eyes, he wouldn't have a problem with that on a usual workday.
Where could you be? Always just a few seconds faster than he was, but he couldn't seem to catch up. Keigo pushed through his aching eyes; surely there was no way he would miss you again.
The glimmer of your wings caught his attention first, and then he saw you. They were tightly bandaged together, along with a few scars presumably from when you rescued those kids. You walked down a dark alley between some rundown buildings. Keigo took a chance, swooping down right into the alley with you.
"Hey," You heard Keigo land with a gust of wind sweeping under your feet. He didn't seem to appreciate your refusal to acknowledge him.
"What?" Every time you turned on the television or opened your phone, you saw him. Of course, you knew who he was.
"Gosh, do you know how hard it was to find you, baby bird? You could at least give me a warmer welcome." Keigo smirked up at you with his hand outstretched. Don't tell me he wants a hug or something, you thought.
"What do you want?" The answer to that... he wasn't sure.
"Jus' wanna have a talk with you," He points out to your wounds. "What happened to those pretty wings of yours?"
"Why do you need to know?"
Truthfully, you had no intention being rude to him, but the entire encounter made you feel odd. The flashy heroes like Hawks were the ones you disliked the most. Sure, you could respect them for their dedication and diligence, but something about it was off-putting. You didn't want to sound like Stain — you didn't think they should be killed for it — the legitimacy of their work frustrated you the most.
"I'm sure your aware of the villain attack at the school that occurred a few days ago." His tone changed, no longer sounding as friendly as he did in the beginning. "You were there, weren't you?"
"I was." Those damn reporters and their cameras. Trying to cover your face during the entire time was enough of a problem.
"Then I'm sure your aware vigilantism is illegal."
"I know. I'm willing to take that risk."
"Then let's make this easy for ourselves. I don't want to report you." Feathers fall from his wings, pointed directly at you and ready to act.
"You're really gonna fight me?"
Now, you realize why you have a disdain for heroes like him. They always acted like puppets for the law, who didn't really have a care in the world for them. To risk your life in such a pointless way. Rules are rules, fine. But how could you agree to those regulations when they impeded your morality?
"If I don't have to, I won't." If he tried, it would be over quickly. Your wings can't do much in attack, only for rescues and fleeing. They are bound to your back and if you ran, he would surely catch you.
"Seriously? I don't believe you."
"Why would I try anything? You and I are the same." Keigo didn't want to hurt you, but his job left no choice if you resisted. "I don't believe in kicking a dead man down."
It's not often that he sees someone with the same quirk as him. Keigo won't let such a pretty bird like you slip under his fingers again, just like in the past. He has you here now, and he refuses to let you out of his sight — no matter what happens.
"Then? How do you suggest we solve this?"
"Those wings won't heal if you keep them like that. I know you're trying to treat them on your own." His feathers return to his wings, and he stretches his arms out in a welcoming manner. "If you come with me, I can help heal them."
"No thanks, I'm not stupid enough to fall for that." You start to turn away from him, but he calls for you.
"I'd never tell a lie to you, birdie. I can take you to my house and give you any medicine I have. If you change your mind, just tell me and I'll let you go."
On a normal day, you would've gone home and treated yourself, but these burns were taking forever to heal. It could easily become an infection if you weren't careful. You sighed, bracing yourself for your arrest and the end of your career as a vigilante. Keigo wouldn't let his happiness slip out as you reluctantly nodded along to his agreement.
In a swift move, he lifts you up bridal-style off the ground and takes off into the night again. It's been too long since you had flown, Keigo has pity on you. Although, this was your first time being carried in this way. He was gentle and soared slow enough for you to take in the beauty of the city at night; you've always been 'too fast for your own good'.
Seeing your eyes fill with wonder at the sight of the city, Keigo says, "I take it you don't fly here often?"
"Usually, I don't. I try not to get spotted. Can't really stay in one place for a long time."
"It's a shame, pretty bird. I'm not sure what I would do if I lost my wings like that."
"Whatever, they'll grow back."
"That's not what I mean," He dips down, expanding his wings for a soft landing. "Those who can fly, should fly. We shouldn't keep ourselves trapped to the ground."
Keigo sets you down carefully. He lands just outside a small building in a region of Kyushu that you haven’t explored yet. Scanning the environment, it’s quiet here; the noise of traffic is faint and hardly any citizens walk freely. You can hear the soft sounds of crickets chirping nearby. It wasn’t the most aesthetically pleasing environment, but it was suitable for the peace Keigo needed.
He leads you to the front door, you two walk to the side of the building. The entrance is tucked away, out of the view of any passersby — although there seemed to be none. Keigo briefly thought about bringing you back to the ‘fake’ apartment Commission gave him when he first started working for them, but the idea was quickly shot down. Who knows if that place had been bugged?
The flights of stairs downwards and the maze of hallways makes your head spin. Ah, fuck. He was probably taking you to some secret place where the police would ambush you or some shit. If it wasn’t obvious to you now, it was certainly over.
When you reach the entrance of his apartment, he fumbles in his pockets for the keys. After unlocking the door, Keigo motions for you to go in first — he was trying to be a gentleman of course. You refused to move though, and he couldn’t blame you. He would be on the edge too if he were you.
He took the first step inside his apartment. The familiar scent of his surroundings made his mind ease, but only for a second.
There were no other people inside, as you previously thought. It didn’t take much to realize this, anyways. The whole apartment lacked something essential, furniture. For such a flashy hero, you were shocked. Surely this wasn’t his. The living room only contained a rug, a small desk on top of it, and a singular cushion for him to sit.
You peek around the corner to find the kitchen, the only appliances are an electric tea kettle and a microwave. There was no need for you to look through his other rooms; you already had an idea of what they might look like.
“Jus’ let me grab my first-aid kit first.” He ushers you to sit down on the soft cushion.
There’s a small night table in the corner of the room. The lamp on the table and ceiling light were the only sources of light in the whole room. His home is located underground, there are no windows. It didn’t seem real at first, you thought he was lying to you.
Keigo opens the drawer and pulls out a first-aid kit. Most of the items have been used, but thankfully you don't need those. Commission purposefully included medication that was needed to help manage his wings.
"It feels like an asylum in here." You manage to say, trying to feel at ease in the cramped space.
"I don't spend much time in here, so I never felt the need to decorate." Keigo walks to you, holding a jar of ointment in his hand.
Carefully, you remove the bandages — some are completely red and damp with blood. When did it get this bad? You were used to enduring the pain, but maybe you took it too far?
"Doesn't it feel lonely in here?"
"Well, not if I've been working all day." Keigo tries to apply the substance to your wings, but he pauses at the sight. It was hard to believe that the once grandiose wings that protected those victims, could get ruined like this. "Dove, you haven't taken good care of yourself..."
His voice sounds... disappointed. You haven't dealt with an injury like this before and your friends, who were also vigilantes, had no idea how to care for you. That was how rare bird-types like you and Hawks were. A once in a lifetime encounter, especially in Kyushu.
"I realize that now..."
"This might hurt a little. I'm all out of painkillers." He really doesn't want to do this, but he's left with no choice. "There's too much blood. They didn't heal properly." A sharp stinging pain erupts in all the places he's plucked your feathers. Keigo places them in a small pile on the ground.
Finally, he can some flesh that's been hiding under your feathers. Raw and charred from the fire. Keigo applies the ointment on his fingertips before massaging it into your skin, gently. Your body tenses up at the uncomfortable feeling, but it isn't anything that you aren't used to. Once he's finished, he wraps the wounded areas in new bandages while allowing for some to breathe.
"Thanks..." You rest on the floor for a while. Keigo puts away all his materials back to their spot.
A few minutes pass; you two have started a new conversation now. He tries to ask more about your personal life, but you gave vague answers. Despite the fact that he was kind enough to heal you, you still couldn't trust him. Keigo makes his home more welcoming for you; there's no need for you to worry about the Commission or police, they don't know about the secret home he's made for himself. In fact, you were the first guest to enter — not even brief hookups or close friends knew.
Keigo was aware that it was wrong. If Commission learned that he allowed a vigilante to become this close to him, they would light a fire under his ass. Yet, he got rush from it all. This whole time, he was worried about his impression on you, but could he even trust you? It wouldn't be a smart choice for you to deceive him under these circumstances. There was something about you that he found exciting — the fact that you were not caged.
Free to stretch your wings as far as they could go without being held back by any institution, Keigo was jealous. Not a care in the world; nothing to hold you back from helping those in need.
Simply being near you gave Keigo a surge of adrenaline that he wanted to be high on, forever. He's already decided that he wants to keep you. After all, he can't help but get what he wants.
When you were finally ready to leave in the morning, he just couldn't accept that. Following you around on his free time like a lost fawn. Didn't he have work to do? He tells you it's all assigned to his sidekicks and someone name Tsukuyomi, there's no need for you to worry. You aren't interested in a friendship. Well, you might’ve considered if he hadn't been so pushy. At first, Keigo claimed it was just a way for him to monitor your progress with healing. But as your feathers grew back over the next few days, fuller than before, he wouldn't budge.
Of course, Commission has kept their eyes on him. It's against the code of conduct for a hero to be aware of a vigilante, but refuse to turn them in. Whichever way he wanted to look at it, the entire relationship shouldn't have gone this far. Surely, he would've been scolded by the Commission at some point. Keigo came up with the perfect lie:
"It's just for work and nothin' else. We could make a great team. It's a good opportunity now that we have been trying to scout them for so long..."
It was true; Commission had their eyes on you for a while now, even willing to overlook your lack of licensing. They were capable of pulling a few strings, just for you. Even considering forging documents and finding loopholes in the system to exploit and have you on their team. Each time, you declined. Keigo had respect for you. He didn't have much of a choice on his outcome in life. He gave you praises for being firm.
All he needed to do was win you over.
His detective skills were immaculate. After you completely healed your wings, you went back to your vigilante work. Thankfully, your schedules were too conflicting for him to keep up. As he was making progress with the League of Villains, he had less time dedicated to you. That took a while, you thought. Now it was all over...
Hawks was one persistent fucker. What he wants, he gets. That was certainly a strong motto to live by. It didn't take long for him to hear news of villain attacks. He always learns of it first; news travels fast, just like him. They all happened to be villains you were fighting and investigating — he really went out of his way to screw up your work. You couldn't do anything with all these heroes around!
Each time, he soared with you in his arms. Pretending as if it was the first time he'd ever flown with you. He knew you could handle yourself at this point, but he just wouldn't let go this time. Scooping you up like a damsel in distress. You tried to slap his arms away, but he wouldn't budge. Even if it was difficult for him to fly with your heavy wings taking most of the space, Keigo didn't mind. Fed up, you slapped his chest and ordered him to put you down:
"Hawks! Put me down! God, why can't you leave me alone?" This time, you yell into his chest as he pulls you tighter to him.
"There's a simple answer for that, dove. I want to say that we're the same. But that's just not true, you're more resilient than me." Keigo slows down and lands on top of the highest point of a tall, skyscraper. He won't give up and release you, though. "Birds of a feather, gotta stick together, right?"

Smudged
Keigo "Hawks" Takami x Reader
Summary: A dressed up night is unusual for you and Hawks, yet all you want to do is go home and relax together.
Word Count: 1.3K
Warnings: Suggestive themes but nothing NSFW, Hawks being a flirty shit, fluff<3
A/N: Just for my special Nem Nem! I've actually been on an MHA kick so this works in my favor. Enjoy some ~shmexy~ Hawks! -Birch<3
Prompts used:
1. "Hold on, let me fix this for you."
17. Standing still as your lover rubs smudged lipstick/lipstick stains off of your skin, catching them off guard by pressing a kiss against their fingertip.
Waiters and waitresses rushed by your table, platters of fine wines and cheese charcuterie boards bustling past. For one of the fanciest and highest-rated restaurants in Japan, you somehow felt uncomfortable.
Your husband, Keigo, sat across from you at your premier seating arrangement. Your view was gorgeous, you couldn't deny it.
It was a red brick rooftop overlooking the city below, with the sun setting across the skyscrapers, painting them in soft shades of lavender and baby blue just as the sun was sinking.
The city below you was alive, it was Friday night after all. Horns honked on the roadways below, everyone rushing around to meet up with friends or get home to watch the newest episode of their favorite show.
The best view was the one sitting across from you- Keigo. Leaning back in his chair, he seemed completely unbothered by the looks the two of you were getting.
It wasn't hard to see why he was the best sight around. His blonde curls were soft and smoothed out of his face, just a stray curl falling out of place to lay on his forehead.
His hair was longer than usual, but you didn't seem to mind. You preferred to run your fingers through the feathery pieces when they were longer, as it gave you a way to draw him close to you.
Keigo's skin was clear and ever so slightly dewy from the heat of the night, the bastard. Paired with his golden gaze and dark, thick lashes, he was glowing.
The part that seemed to have you bewitched was the white button-down covering his torso. It was a plain, white dress shirt, yes, but Keigo made it look like it should have been on a runway.
The sleeves were rolled up neatly to his elbows, showing off his strong and thick forearms. To fancy up his outfit, he even wore his newest watch, the silver glinting with the rays of the sun.
As if that wasn't enough, a few bands of silver covered his fingers, the rings enhancing the length and thickness of the digits, which you had to keep steering your mind away from.
Keigo seemed to be on a roll trying to distract you because in addition to his arms and hands looking inviting, the top two buttons were undone around his collar. His defined clavicle poked through, the necklace with your initial hanging around his neck making your heart flutter every time you looked at it.
To top it all off, well-fitting black slacks and dress shoes pulled the whole look together. And he had the audacity to sit across from you and not even realize he was a heaven-sent angel.
"Hey love," his voice rips you out of your trance, "I'm thinking I either want the grilled chicken salad or the pork shogayaki. What do you think?"
His eyes flash up to meet yours innocently, his golden gaze genuine as he gauged your reaction. He gets distracted looking at you though.
There you are, looking shy and uncomfortable, yet breathtakingly beautiful. Your hair was pinned up on your head, leaving your neck accessible to the air to stay cool.
Small bits and pieces of jewelry donned your ears, wrists, and neck, but nothing too flashy. Even though Keigo promised to take you to the fanciest place in Japan, you didn't feel like standing out.
A black dress was your first choice, the cut tight around your waist but flowed out around your hips, the fabric perfect for getting twirled around the dance floor.
Keigo's favorite part about your look? The deep burgundy lipstick that glimmered almost too much on your lips. They just looked so kissable, so bite-able, that he was completely distracted from ordering.
You look back at your husband, giving him an uncertain smile before mumbling, "Oh, that all sounds lovely, but..." You trail off as another set of waiters hustle by, and you scooch toward Keigo to avoid them.
His hand immediately comes up to rest on the back of your chair, his gaze following the wait staff to ensure none of them touched you by accident.
When the coast is clear and he turns back to you, your face still holds a hint of nervousness. He smiles at you softly and asks, "Spit it out, love."
You close your eyes and huff before picking up his golden gaze and murmuring, "I kind of just want to go home."
Before he can say anything, you wave your hands in front of you and protest, "And it's not because dinner isn't going to be good or I don't enjoy the view, or that I don't appreciate you bringing me to this really fancy-" "Y/n/n," he cuts you off.
He gives you a wide and cheeky grin as he replies, "Doll, I was waiting to see how long it took you to break." Your mouth falls open in shock as you playfully swat at him, but he chuckles and catches your failed attempt.
Instead, he clasps your wrist and hauls you to your feet, walking you around the tables to the edge of the restaurant. His wings poof out behind him, and he releases your hand to step up onto the edge of the roof.
Then, Keigo turns around to face you, well aware of the gazes of everyone around you glued to his spectacle. He grins wickedly before offering you his hand and stating, "My lady?"
You roll your eyes as you take his hand, and just like that, you are whisked off into the sunset. You can't help the laugh that falls from your lips as he wraps his arms around you, the wind tugging at your clothes and hair.
Keigo tries flying as smoothly as he can to get you home comfortably, but he also enjoys the time he can have you wrapped up in his arms without a care in the world.
The second you land on your specialized balcony after your short flight, he sets you down gently, wrapping his arms around your waist. Keigo gazes down at you softly and whispers, "I don't care if we go out to the fanciest place to eat or stay in and order KFC. I just want to see you smile and be happy."
Your hands come up to play with the hair at the base of his neck as you whisper back, "I am happy." He smiles at you gently, leaning in to kiss you before he freezes.
His sharp gaze manages to see a smudge of lipstick at the edge of your bottom lip. Must have bumped something on the flight home.
You pout as he pulls away from you, and it takes everything in him to not lean down and smash his lips against yours at the plushness of your lips. Keigo just chuckles and says, "Hold on baby, let me fix this for you."
Your body stills as one of his hands comes up to cup your cheek gently, his thumb swiping against your bottom lip to clear off the small red stain. Just before he can completely pull his hand away, you ever so slightly lean forward, pressing a soft kiss to the tip of his finger, painting it red.
You can feel his body pause against yours, and you giggle at the red suddenly dusting Keigo's cheeks. "Good to know I still have that effect on you after all these years," you joke, tightening your grip on his hair.
"Oh love, you have that effect on me every day. And in this dress?" He whistles at the end of his sentence, his gaze flickering up and down to take in your appearance. Keigo's words are flirty, yes, but his eyes are full of love as he leans into you, gently nuzzling your nose against his own.
"Keigo Takami, are you just trying to get in my pants?"
"Y/n Takami, are you always this enchanting?"
"C'mon bird brain, show me how you'd like to clean up this lipstick."
"I can think of a few different positions~"

first date places
dabi
the roofs. he loves watching sky at any given time actually, he especially loves stargazing. when he was a kid, he had a telescope and about a hundred books about space, so til this day he's very invested. and another funny thing about him is that he still has that 'dude who was born rich' mentality, despite the fact that he lived on the streets for literally a decade. he wants everything to look like he hasn't tried (and he doesn't want to try) and he wants it to be literally perfect at the same time. so he goes for an obvious solution, being bringing you to watch stars together. it might be difficult to do in a such large city, but he knows places, and he knows a lot of them. he wants to show you the night city in all it's glory as well. he's a bit sentimental, so he shares a lot of stories of a particular places in which he lived - nothing in detail, just to entertain you. despite all his aloof demeanor, he's really proud of himself that he succeeded in impressing you. and if you're truly interested in astronomy as much as he is, then it's over for you, his nerdy ass won't shut up. it has it's pros: it's simply unfair how adorable he looks while telling you everything he knows about stars.
shigaraki
it's his bar for this very special occasion. he's very nervious and the fact that he already left his room is some heroic (pun unintended) shit for him. he needs somewhat comforting surroundings to collect himself better. i believe he's also a romantic at heart, so with help of the lov he'll decorate his place, so it'll be something really nice, not some messy area they usually live in. there will be music (in general he hates music, but he'll tolerate it just this once, because a, it's toga who plays guitar, b, it's for a mission (date)), there will be candles (he went through some real shit trying to steal scented ones and they smell bad anyway for his taste, and even yours), there will be an attempt at decent dinner (please don't eat it, your stomach will probably die). and however awkward it might look, with lov lurking in the background cheering you voth on, those awfully scented candles, somewhat nice music and tomura standing right in the middle of the chaos of this all, it still feels...genuinely nice? such a warm, fuzzy feeling, that you are so welcomed here. he really went out of his way to do this all for you.
hawks
congrats on pulling the hottest bitch in town, now good luck actually catching him for a date. the thing is, he's a second for a reason, he's booked and busy, going on missions saving people and so. the most foolproof plan here is to bring him on a date in his own apartment. it's difficult even like that, bc frankly, he's rarely there. he never had any desire to return here, tbh. it doesn't even look like someone lives in here, more like a hotel room, which is also pretty empty and dark. there's little to no furniture, some bed to sleep on, a couch, a table and a TV. very sad. so it's on you to make it cozier and it doesn't have to be much, not at all. he doesn't like fancy things in general, he just doesn't care. whatever you want to make with his place is fine by him. and he's not romantic at all actually, but he appreciates the effort you make to simply spend some time with him. it's a big deal for him, that someone is willing to spend their time not only to tidy up his place and all, but to actually do it for a date which is the direct invitation to spend more time with him. which means, someone really, really wants to spend this exact time with him. wild, don't you think? and this scene where you lit up all the candles you've brought and then sit right next to him, pulling a blanket over you both and asking which movie he chose in the end - that makes it for him.

Get Your Shit Together (So I Can Love You)

Tags/Warnings: One Shot, Gender Neutral Reader, Smidge of Angst, Double Agent Hawks, Implied League of Villains Work, Medical Procedures, Wounds, Reader Is Implied to Have Some Sort of Medical Training, Not Really Friends To Lovers But On the Cusp of It
Summary: Hawks shows up at your door wounded and unwilling to explain how he got that way. Again. You know he’s up to something bad, something dangerous, but all you can do is put him back together again and wish things were different.
A/N: AAAHHH JESUS FUCK A GIANT SPIDER JUST RAN ACROSS MY CHEST WHILE I WAS CREATING THIS POST
Okay. Okay. I’m alright. It’s good. Everything’s fine.
Anyway so this is a fic I wrote a couple years ago after suddenly waking up in the middle of the night only to type it and pass promptly back out once it was finished. I was going through my fics to go back and start working on another older one when I saw this, re-read it, and decided to post it.
On TV, Hawks always seemed sort of… small. Zipping through the skies so fast the eye could barely catch him. Or standing between the mountain that was Endeavor and the lean height that was Best Jeanist. But now, standing in your living room at 2am, Hawks seems larger than life.
You blink owlishly up at him as he steps through the threshold of your door after offering little more than a “hey, kid, sorry it’s so late, but can I come in?”
He was the number two hero, you certainly weren’t going to tell him no.
“Keigo, wh-“ You stop short as you glance over him and notice red staining the lining of his jacket. A moment of panic bursts through you, and you squeal out a distressed “Keigo!” before settling into work mode.
You grasp his arm firmly and guide him into your bathroom, settling him on the toilet, always careful of his wings, before digging under your sink for medical supplies.
“Do I even want to know?” You ask as you help him out of the jacket and then shirt, assessing the damage. He gives you one of his signature cheeky grins, but you can see it’s strained with pain. He’s got a long gash running from his ribcage to his hip, and it looks deep.
“Probably not.”
You sigh. “And why are you darkening my doorstep at two in the morning instead of at the hospital?”
You’re sure you already know the answer. This is confirmed when you look up and his face has turned grim.
“You know I can’t tell you that.”
You allow frustration to leak into your voice. “I know you won’t tell me that.”
“Look, kid-“
You hear pleading in his voice, but you ignore it and hold up your hand, interrupting him. “Yeah, yeah, I know. Listen, this is bad, and it looks like it needs stitches, which I am not trained to do.”
“But you know how to do them anyway,” he says with a lopsided smile, “and really, who needs a hospital when I’ve got the best nurse in the world right here?” You give him a disparaging look and go to scrub your hands.
Grabbing some antiseptic, you begin cleaning his wound. He hisses and you see his stomach muscles flex as it stings, but you don’t stop. If he was going to play stupid games, he was going to win painful prizes.
“This is going to hurt worse, you know.” You pull suturing supplies from your kit and he grimaces knowingly and nods.
He’s being uncharacteristically quiet, and you stop threading the needle momentarily to look him over. He’s looking away from you, staring into your shower. Even still, you can see exhaustion clinging to him, purple crescents stamped under his eyes and visible despite his eyeliner. A small sigh escapes your nostrils and he glances up at you.
“Here,” you say, and your voice seems too loud to you, echoing off the walls, “brace yourself on me, and I’ll try to make this as quick as possible so we can get some ibuprofen in you.”
You finish threading the needle and grab his hands, placing them on your hips. His grip is light at first, almost tentative, and he doesn’t look you in the eye. Which is fine, because just now, in the quiet of your bathroom, you’ve noticed how intimate this has become, and you can’t meet his gaze either. You set to the task at hand, and his grip tightens considerably.
Once you finally finish, you carefully clean up the remaining blood and bandage him up. You finally let your gaze drift to his face, and find he’s already looking at you. You’re both quiet for a moment. You search his eyes for anything at all that might give a hint as to what he’s thinking. You do not find it, but do find yourself falling into those pools of liquid gold.
You realize he’s still holding onto your hips when his grip tightens. His touch burns you through your pajamas.
“Kid…” his voice trails off, and you suddenly realize how close you are as his eyes trail down your face.
A sudden crash from the living room makes you jump away, almost guiltily, and then neither of you can look at each other anymore. You don’t even investigate the noise; you can hear the bell on your cat’s collar jingle as she runs away from the scene of whatever crime she just committed. You turn to your medical kit and briskly put everything away, cheeks feeling like they’re on fire.
“I’ll get you some clothes,” you say, putting the kit back under the sink, “and then you can crash on the couch.”
You start to walk away, but his grip on your wrist stops you. You look back at him questioningly. The look on his face is intense- far more intense than the carefree hero persona he usually dons.
“Thank you. For everything. You know I- I don’t know how I’d do this without you.”
Your eyes soften, and you twist your arm until you’re holding his hand. “Of course. I’m here any time you need me.”
You squeeze his hand gently, and then go off to find the pair of sweats and t-shirt you keep just for nights like this. Back in the bathroom, you help him to get the shirt on around his wound and his wings, and then leave to let him finish changing.
You’re just finishing setting up the couch when you feel a presence behind you. You turn your head slightly and then jump out of your skin when you see that he is right next to you. You mutter a curse and give him a look. “I’m going to put a bell on you, just like the cat.”
He grins, and you help him settle onto the couch. Glancing at the clock, you realize it’s now nearing four in the morning. He follows your gaze and looks guilty.
“I guess I should really let you go back to sleep now. I really am sorry for waking you.”
You shake your head. “You should get some sleep. You need rest if you want that to heal. I’m going to stay here for a while and watch you to make sure you don’t die.”
You make him take some over-the-counter pain meds, and sit down next to the couch to watch him as he falls asleep.
He wakes several hours later to your head on your arms on the couch next to him, fast asleep. He can’t help the small smile that spreads across his face as he reaches an arm out to rest his hand on your head.

Hawks Gets Flustered.
Pairing: Takami Keigo x Reader
Warning(s): None Words: 1552
A/N: hawks my husband, please tell me if there are grammatical errors, english is not my first lenguaje! also remember this was writed by an AI, i just make a few corrections to make the story make more sense.
Summary: Hawks is a flirtatious bird who doesn't know how to act when her crush respond him with the same energy.
Hawks had always been a bit of a player, always flirting and teasing the girls around him. But there was something about Y/n that made his heart beat faster every time he saw her. Maybe it was her fiery spirit or her bright smile, but he couldn't help but feel drawn to her.
So, he would flirt with her every chance he got, always making her blush and giggle with his suggestive comments. But one day, Y/n decided to turn the tables on him.
"You know, Hawks," she said with a sly smile, "you're not the only one who can dish out the flirting. Maybe I should start giving you a taste of your own medicine."
Hawks was taken aback. He had never heard Y/n speak so boldly before. But instead of feeling intimidated, he found himself intrigued. He wanted to see what she was capable of.
And so, she began to flirt with him in earnest. She would make playful comments and tease him, always with a glint in her eye. Hawks found himself both nervous and excited by her sudden change of attitude.
He tried to keep up with her, but he found himself stumbling over his words and blushing bright red when she said something particularly suggestive. It was a side of Y/n that he had never seen before, and he found himself completely enraptured.
But as the conversation continued, Hawks began to feel more and more nervous. He wasn't used to being on the receiving end of the flirting, and he wasn't sure how to respond. Finally, he decided that he needed to take a break.
"I, uh, I need to go," he stammered, his wings twitching nervously. "I'll see you later."
And with that, he took off into the sky, leaving her laughing behind him. But even though he had been caught off guard by her sudden change of attitude, Hawks knew that he couldn't wait to see what she had in store for him next time.
Hawks flew through the air, his heart pounding in his chest. He couldn't believe how much Y/n had gotten to him. He had never felt so nervous around a girl before.
As he soared above the city, Hawks tried to shake off his nerves. He had to get his head back in the game. He was a hero, after all. He couldn't let a little flirting throw him off his game.
But no matter how hard he tried to focus, he couldn't get Y/n out of his head. He kept replaying their conversation over and over again in his mind, trying to figure out how he could have responded better.
Finally, Hawks landed on the rooftop of a nearby building, panting slightly from the exertion of his flight. He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down.
"Okay, Hawks," he muttered to himself. "You can do this. Just go back down there and show her what you're made of."
With that, Hawks took off into the air once again, flying back towards where he had left Y/n.
When he finally landed, he saw her standing there, a smile on her face.
"Hey, you made it back," she said, still grinning.
Hawks took a deep breath, trying to summon up his confidence. He was a hero, after all. He couldn't let a little flirting throw him off his game. And so, he approached Y/n with a sly smile on his face.
"I see you're still trying to keep up with me," he said, his voice low and teasing.
Y/n laughed, a sound that made Hawks' heart skip a beat.
"Oh, you have no idea," she replied, her eyes twinkling.
And with that, the two of them launched into a playful banter that lasted well into the night. Hawks realized that he had never felt so alive, so excited, so...happy.
The next day, Hawks was doing his daily patrol of the cityl, his mind was still on Y/n. He couldn't believe how much she had gotten under his skin in such a short amount of time.
He kept replaying their conversation from the previous day in his head, trying to figure out what it all meant. Did she really like him, or was she just toying with him? Hawks was so lost in thought that he didn't even notice when he landed on a rooftop next to another hero.
"Hey, Hawks. What's up?" asked the hero, a woman with long black hair.
Hawks snapped out of his reverie and looked over at her.
"Oh, hey, Midnight," he said, trying to sound casual.
Midnight raised an eyebrow.
"Is everything okay? You seem a little distracted," she said, her voice tinged with concern.
Hawks sighed.
"I don't know, Midnight. There's this girl… and I just can't stop thinking about her," he admitted.
Midnight nodded understandingly.
"I see. And how does she feel about you?" she asked.
Hawks shrugged.
"I don't know. She's really flirty and teases me all the time, but I can't tell if she actually likes me or not," he said, feeling frustrated.
Midnight smiled sympathetically.
"Well, maybe you should just ask her," she suggested.
Hawks felt his heart skip a beat at the thought of actually asking Y/n how she felt about him.
"Really? You think I should?" he asked, feeling nervous.
Midnight nodded.
"Absolutely. It's better to know for sure than to keep wondering," she said.
Hawks nodded, feeling determined. He knew that he had to talk to her and find out once and for all how she felt about him.
And so, he took off into the sky once again, his heart pounding with anticipation. He was going to find her and finally get some answers.
When he arrived at Y/n's apartment complex, his heart sank in disappointment. He had seen her with a guy, and the way they had hugged and said "I love you" to each other had made him feel sad with jealousy.
He was about to fly away and forget about the whole thing when he heard a voice calling out to him.
"Hawks, hi!" Y/n's voice cut through the air.
Hawks turned around and saw her standing at the entrance to her building, looking at him with concern.
"Is everything okay?" she asked, walking up to him.
Hawks tried to act casual, but he knew that he must have looked upset.
"Yeah, everything's fine. I just...didn't want to bother you," he said, his voice trailing off.
Y/n looked at him quizzically.
"Bother me? What are you talking about?" she asked.
Hawks hesitated for a moment, then decided to come clean.
"I saw you with a guy, and I just assumed...well, I don't know what I assumed," he said, feeling foolish.
She looked at him, realization dawning on her face.
"Oh, you mean my brother? Yeah, he was just dropping me off. He's in town for a visit," she explained.
Hawks felt a wave of relief wash over him.
"Your brother? Oh, I see. Sorry, I guess I just jumped to conclusions," he said, feeling embarrassed.
Y/n smiled at him, her eyes sparkling.
"It's okay. I'm just glad you came back. I wanted to talk to you," she said.
Hawks felt his heart skip a beat. Was this it? Was she finally going to tell him how she really felt?
He followed her inside, his mind racing with possibilities.
As they settled down on the couch, she took a deep breath and looked at him.
"Hawks, I wanted to tell you something," she said, her voice serious.
Hawks felt a knot form in his stomach. This was it. He was finally going to find out how she felt about him.
But before she could say anything, Y/n burst out laughing.
"I'm sorry, I can't keep a straight face," she said, still giggling.
Hawks looked at her, confused.
"What's so funny?" he asked.
She composed herself and looked at him, still smiling.
"I'm sorry, Hawks. I didn't mean to tease you like that. But the truth is, I like you. A lot," she said, her eyes sparkling.
Hawks felt like his heart was about to explode with joy.
"Really? You do?" he asked, feeling incredulous.
Y/n nodded.
"Yes, really. I've been trying to tell you for weeks now, but every time I try, you always fly away or something," she said, her tone playful.
Hawks felt himself blushing.
"I'm sorry. I just didn't know how to react," he said, feeling nervous.
She leaned in closer to him.
"Well, maybe you could start by kissing me," she said, her voice low.
Hawks felt his heart race with excitement as he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers.
It was everything he had ever wanted and more.
As they pulled away from each other, they both couldn't help but laugh.
"I can't believe it took us this long to finally kiss," Hawks said, feeling giddy.
Y/n smiled at him.
"Better late than never, I suppose," she said, her voice playful.
Hawks knew that he was never going to let her go. He had finally found someone who understood him, someone who made him feel alive. He was grateful for every moment he spent with her.
