Sanada’s adding people to the War Dogs without input from Sucky Charms or Gedo. Me definitely thinks they’re going to kick that nepo baby out as leader.

If Sanada had to turn heel, at least let it be in service of getting lesser Finlay off my tv screen.

Okay, now we’re getting somewhere! Next match on the NJPW anniversary show was a 3-way tag match between War Dogs and Just [I lost count] Guys. And guys…this match was just silly. This wasn’t meant to be comedy wrestling, but I got a huge laugh at the end of it all.

The laughs started at the beginning, though. Chris Charlton on English commentary said SANADA was “making a lot of statements” as he was walking to the ring and…yeah, he certainly was.

Yeesh.

I will say that I do prefer SANADA with facial hair (though I arguably say that about ALL men). I was hoping he’d grow back his floofy LIJ beard, but he’s rocking the stubble look. Keep it up. And for God’s sake, look in the mirror next time you dress yourself. Or don’t. You’re clearly being a silly little guy right now.

I normally hate Gedo because he’s a slime ball, but he was actually really funny in this match. The way he bullied TAKA since the match started was just so goofy. But yeah, Gedo’s still a slime ball.

Taiji Ishimori is still a total babe, rocking that jacked HIIT bod that’s unfortunately hidden under a lame War Dogs shirt. Which reminds me: when did Ishimori dissolve from Bullet Club Vanilla and go full-on War Dogs? Was he always with War Dogs? BC has become so fragmented, it’s hard to tell who goes where anymore. At any rate, Ishimori naturally hasn’t lost a thing as his athleticism was a highlight for me in this match, especially after landing a BEAUTIFUL handspring on Taichi.

But the best, funniest, and most STUPID part of the match was the fake-out SANADA did with his dumbass guitar, causing the ref to disqualify poor Yuya Uemura and making War Dogs the victor. The way SANADA pulled it off was so beautifully DUMB that I can’t help but chuckle. I don’t remember him being such a douche during his LIJ days, but hey, that’s what a heel turn does to a bitch.

Gonna love seeing Yuya crash into him during the New Japan Cup. Kick his silly little ass.

"I think you are hot too." Drilla blinks. "Huh?" In front of him, Ishimori looks very calm and he's smiling. The empty dressing room suddenly feels a whole lot smaller. Ishimori is still smiling, though, and it would almost be cute if this wasn't someone he knew could probably bench press more than him and was a monster in the ring. "Thanks?" Ishimori chuckles. "I heard what you said on commentary. I liked it." Oh.
