I’ve been listening to This Week in Blackness for at least seven years. When they launched the subscription service in 2014, I got my finances together enough that I’ve been able to afford it since. (As in, I cancelled my SIRIUS account to pay for my TWIB membership.)

Recently, though, I’ve been really frustrated. My payments are still coming out of my account like usual, but every request I’ve made to join the Facebook group has been roundly ignored, and a recent iOS update deleted my feed password.

Their website is kinda janky from my perspective, so I can’t figure out how to get it back. I sent an email through the site’s help page, no luck. I went on Twitter and @’d their help desk account and the CEO directly, and the help desk account didn’t answer, but the CEO did. He asked me what the problem was, so I told him: no Facebook group, no password.

No response.

I love TWIB, and I want to keep supporting independent Black media, but I am so fucking bummed out. I know it’s convention season and they’re slammed, but this is just-

I’m really sad. I don’t know what to do. I’m thinking I’ll cancel my subscription and maybe sign up for the paid feed over at The Black Guy Who Tips, but man. My feels, they are hurting.

Like, seriously. I think I might cry.

Further they charged their employees a "costume" charge which caused their wages to fall below federal minimum standards. This just tells me the supervisors or managers were completely inept or sloppy. The Feds should have penalized them more money if you ask me. $233 isn't a lot of compensation, make it at least $500 you greedy shits. #mylifematters #hardwork #disney #news #blacktwitter #twibnation #tcot #blm #employment #labor
