TVS NTORQ 125 is the only scooter that provides a 3-valve engine in India. The TVS NTORQ Super Squad Edition BS6 produces a maximum power of 9.25 bhp at 7000 rpm and a maximum torque of 10.5 Nm at 5500 rpm. The TVS NTORQ 125 Super Squad Edition comes with a CVT-I transmission style. Currently, you will find two models of the TVS NTORQ 125 Super Squad Edition in the market - Two Eco and Sport modes. 
Coming to the colours and a little backstory now: 
The model of the Combat Blue colour carries blue, red, white tone sprinkles along with it. It also carries the number 41, which is the year 1941, the time of the introduction of Captain America. On each of the panels, there is also a Super Soldier badge. Next, the colour, Invincible Red, is influenced by the epic Iron Man and the scooter features the red and gold colour of the decals. The arc reactor is collected from both side panels, while the Iron Man's helmet is embossed on the leg shield. The TVS Raider motorbike has a split seat, a full-LED headlamp, taillights, bulb indicators, tank extensions, and an engine cowl. The bike has a sporty flare thanks to the strong tank extensions. The riding position is upright but slightly forward-biased because of the large single-piece handlebar and the slightly rear-set footpegs. A distinctive characteristic that sets it different from other bikes is the cutaway detail in the center panel, which lets you view the red mono-shock springs, the form of the LED headlamp, and the size and shape of the tail panel. Another distinctive aspect of the design is the under-seat storage compartment. The motorbike also has an engine cut-off mechanism for side-standing. 
The TVS Raider 125 also has an engine cut-off mechanism for side-standing. High-density foam is used to make the split seat, which is wide. Unquestionable comfort is provided to the rider as a result, particularly while attacking curves and on winding roads. The seat's (780mm) moderate height for shorter riders makes it perfect.
Engine

The new TVS Raider 125's powertrain and power come from a 124.8cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that cranks out 11.2 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 11.2 Nm of maximum torque at 6,000 rpm. The TVS Raider and TVS Ntorq both use the same engine. According to TVS, the engine has a substantial internal difference, giving it a 2 bhp advantage over the scooter's engine. Features
These days, it seems like every new Honda model introduction includes a heaping helping of additional amenities, but that's not the case with this one. Adding an engine stop button and transitioning to a DC headlight are the sole modifications. But you won't find any amenities like a digital instrument panel, a side-stand-down engine shutdown function, or an LED headlight. Even the new model doesn't include even Honda's new silent-start technology, a great feature available in new scooters and the new Unicorn's less-priced BS6 siblings like the new Honda Shine and SP 125. An LED headlamp with integrated LED DRLs, an LED taillight, a five-inch digital display, an idle stop-start system, two ride modes (Eco and Power), and a first-in-segment under-seat storage are all included as standard equipment on both types of the Raider motorbike. The Connected model also has a color TFT screen, Bluetooth technology, and a Voice Assist feature that integrates with TVS SmartXConnect. Incoming call and message notifications, voice assistance, navigation, and other features are added to the Connected version. There is a USB charger available as an additional accessory.

TVS Motor Company, Country’s reputed two wheeler and three wheeler manufacturer has all reasons to smile – Reason: The first ever 125cc scooter TVS nTorq 125 which the company launched is an instant hit in India frightening the Japanese two wheeler giant Honda in its own forte – the scooter segment. TVS nTorq 125 since its launch in the month of February 2018 has posted a consistent sales figure every month and has even overtaken the sales figures of Honda Grazia 125 – a new 125cc scooter which Honda launched back in November 2017.
In this article, we are going to post the review of all new TVS nTorq 125 which has been long due since May 2018. Having driven the Honda Grazia 125cc scooter we think we should be able to rightly gauge nTorq 125 in all fronts like performance, style, design, mileage, price and more.
First Impressions
Looking at the nTorq 125, one can clearly notice the uniqueness in terms of how the scooter looks and feels. It is totally different from what Honda is offering in its Grazia/Activa or what Suzuki is offering in its long lived “Access 125”. The nTorq 125 doesn’t feel like “Yet-another-scooter” in the market. Few things which we observed as soon as we saw this bike is the dual “125” sports badge in the front overlayed on top of checkered flag background, the nice looking alloy wheels, the unique “T” shaped LED taillamp with a special type of design beneath, the Smart Connect badging and the full digital instrument cluster.
  Design
Just like TVS Apache RR310 motorcycle, the tri-color India flag sticker is present even on this scooter. The “Matte Yellow” colored TVS nTorq is the character color and blends very well with the Black giving a nice sport appeal. The overall styling and design is made keeping youth in mind, you can see lot of sharp curves, details through out the body especially when you see this scooter from the side profile angle.

The design cues are carry forwarded even to the the exhaust muffler. The seats are nice and bows down nicely to easily accommodate the short riders.
Engine and Performance
The all new TVS nTorq 125 scooter is powered by advanced CVTi-REVV 124.79cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 3-valve, air-cooled SOHC engine. The very new engine which is exclusively made for the nTorq 125 is pretty well refined and is capable to deliver more than 9.5 bhp of power and a maximum torque of 5500 rpm.
Technically details apart, the scooter is outright very powerful and kicks in lot of torque when you even lightly touch the throttle.  One can neatly badge this scooter as a sports performance scooter because of the type of performance feedback it gives as you sit on it – you will for sure notice a nice engine noise as you throttle that is pretty welcoming for someone who enjoys riding.
The scooter is equipped with race grade instrument cluster that fancily shows you all the lap timers, fuel, speed, distance and what not?. On top of this, the scooter is “SMART” as it can instantly sync with your smartphone through Smart X Connect that shall help you in navigation, dialing a phone contact or to to note down something important during your ride. At this point, TVS is offering the nTorq app only to customers with Android phones and those with iPhones are left disappointed.
Ride and Handling
The ride quality of nTorq 125 is good – the power delivery is consistent and delivers that extra push when you want it. Rides great on traffic and city conditions  – no complaints when it comes to maneuvering the vehicle in and out and turning through the curves. The scooter is stable and handle balance is good and doesn’t make you tired.

During our test in rainy condition, the scooter felt very light  and we could have liked if TVS added some more weight to this scooter  – so that it remains upright when you are passing through tough winds.  The suspension and braking worked neat. Thanks to 220mm Disc brake in the front, which adds more confidence when you are braking this performance scooter.
This scooter is aimed for young audience and who seeks something extra in terms of on road presence, style and performance.  While we were not so happy with the mileage of this scooter when compared to the old-school Dio or Activa, we were satisfied on the performance side – well it is a trade-off between power and mileage as one would know.
Riding with pillion was comfortable and it offered a good position for pillion to rest their foot. On the downside, you might not have the benefit of grab rails to hold those during the humps.
Dimensions and Practicality
The TVS nTorq 125 weighs 116.1 Kgs which should sound good for someone who is looking for a powerful 125cc scooter which is lighter.  The length of nTorq 125 measures 1865 mm, width is  710 mm and overall height is 1160 mm. The wheelbase of TVS nTorq 125 is 1285mm which helps in cornering your scooter. The ground clearance of 155 mm is practical and you might not hit the floor to any bad pothole at ease. The fuel tank capacity of nTorq 125 is 5 Litres.
TVS nTorq 125 offers ample amount of space under the seat where your helmet/jackets can be stacked in. Like other TVS scooters like Jupiter, nTorq 125 too gets external fuel filling facility and also offers optional mobile charging features as well.
Price
The TVS nTorq 125 is priced at Rs 63,800  ( Ex-showroom Bangalore). With the recent IRDA rule, you are required to have vehicle insurance for at atleast 5 years mimimum. Along with RTO registrations and some accessories the on-road price of nTorq 125 could shoot upto Rs 80,000 or more ( Depending on which city you live).
Verdict
If you are planning to buy an updated, modern, stylish and powerful scooter in 2018/2019 the all new nTorq 125 can be your go-to choice.  The scooter scores really well when compared with Suzuki Access 125, Grazia 125, Activa 125 or Aprilia SR 125.  The engine is refined plus powerful, unique sports styling, alloy wheels,  eye-catching LED tail lamps, the SmartXConnect system which syncs with smartphone for navigation and TVS’s reputation in service and quality  – makes us to give a BIG thumbs up for nTorq 125. The TVS Ntorq 125 is the two in the one-two punch combo that TVS Motor Company has landed for 2018 - the Apache RR 310 being the one. The TVS Ntorq 125 sits smack in the middle of the 125cc scooter segment, which is touted to have a strong growth potential in a market so far dominated by 110cc offerings. Honda and Aprilia have laid down their cards, while the Suzuki Access 125 continues to lead the pack. With the Ntorq 125, TVS looks to bring its signature blend of performance and accessibility with a twist of connectivity. Is this enough for a knockout? Let's find out.
TVS Ntorq 125
Design and features
The Ntorq 125 has a sharp design with a front heavy visual bias. The front fascia on the Ntorq looks sporty with its sharp creases which will work for the youth, but the styling is restrained enough to have wider appeal. The front apron houses a large halogen headlamp with a bright LED DRL strip making up the chin under it. We would have appreciated it if the headlamp too would have been a LED unit.

The mudguard, apron, and instrumentation cowl all have a thick, glossy black stripe with matte yellow body panels on either side. This contrast looks great and we'd like to see the TVS Ntorq 125 in other bright colours, maybe even in a fully shiny contrast paint scheme
The panels to either side of the apron are matte grey and have large 125 lettering with some graphics in the background. Turn indicators are neatly integrated into the instrumentation cowl, and at enough height to be amply visible than would be if placed on the sides of the apron.
On either side of the footboard is a TVS Racing logo
The side body panels taper sharply towards the rear to make this scooter appear lighter and smaller grey panels near where the feet will be placed keep the bright bodywork from gathering scuffs. That said, the bright matte body colour options will require very regular cleaning to keep looking their best. The Ntorq features split rear grab rails.
The TVS Ntorq 125 has a distinctive rear-end with the faux vents, unique tail light shape and the wider tyres ensure that you'll always recognise it when you see it
The Ntorq features black diamond-cut 12-inch alloy wheels shod with 100/80 front and 110/80 rear TVStyres. The tyres have a wider profile than the competition and give the Ntorq a more performance-focused look. The best part of the Ntorq design is the rear, where the T-shaped LED tail lamp is complemented by afterburner style faux vents, which look like twin exhausts on a sporty motorcycle. The actual exhaust is a chunky unit mounted to the right side.
While its competitors have 12-inch wheels only at the front, the Ntorq 125 has 12-inch wheels at both ends, shod with wider profile rubber
On the features front, the Ntorq sports an engine killswitch, as well as a low-high pass switch. The killswitch means you don't have to turn the key if you want to switch off the scooter at, say, a long traffic signal. Underseat storage is ample at 22 litres. Still not enough for my full-size helmet but it will fit mostIndian-make helmets which have smaller shells.

TVS has also included a USB charging port as well as small storage area lamp to help you find little knick-knacks. The overall finish, as well as quality of plastics, is good.
Underseat storage can take in 22 litres, and also features a lamp as well as USB charging port. But the boot and fuel cap are unlocked through a separate keyhole on the left side panel. Having an unlocking mechanism for these integrated with the ignition slot up front would have been elegant
Smart Connectivity
The Ntorq 125 features a stylish digital LCD display with SmartXonnect. At its centre is a large speedometer, with a trip meter, odometer, and clock above. Telltales include turn indicators, eco/power mode indicator, and high beam. On the bottom row are the fuel gauge to the right and an oil temperature gauge on the left.
The central part of the display here is where all the fun lies. Pressing on the Mode button below the display switches between street and sport modes. In the latter, the odometer switches to a lap timer. You can also access your ride stats, lap times, and top speed here - not that any of these stats will come in handy in daily use.
Keep the Mode pressed for about 5 seconds and you can pair the Ntorq to your Android smartphone via a custom app. Using the app, you receive incoming call and message alerts, access turn-by-turn navigation, and even send an automated reply to all incoming calls.

The display's position means you will have to look down from the road to see any of the alerts, which may not be the safest thing to do while riding, but it is certainly a good system that eliminates the need to check your phone at every traffic junction.
With the app, you can also locate your scooter's last parked position, so hunting down your scooter in a mall parking will be easy. This works by saving the location at the time of parking, but the accuracy may vary as the GPS location is based on your mobile device, and a majority of such parking spots are in basements.
Engine and performance
The 124.79cc air-cooled single cylinder CVTi-Revv engine has a three-valve layout. This means there are two intake valves and an one for exhaust, similar to that seen on TVS motorcycles. This layout gives the engine a good blend of torque and efficiency, claims TVS. The engine produces 9.4PS at 7,500rpm and 10.5Nm at 5,500rpm. This power is transmitted via a CVT that has been re-geared to better handle the increased torque compared to smaller 110cc offerings from the company.
The Ntorq 125 is powered by a new 124.79cc CVTi-Revv engine. That red cooling fan is standard looks super cool and the scooter has an overload of faux carbon fibre inserts to push that sporty image further
The Ntorq carries its high 116kg kerb weight from standstill to 60kmph in 8.7seconds. That lands the Ntorq behind its main competitors, the Honda Grazia and Suzuki Access 125 in outright acceleration. The Grazia and Access 125 had recorded 0 to 60kmph times of 8.4s and 7.9s, respectively. The Ntorq does not feel slow, however. Its power delivery feels linear all the way to a claimed top whack of 95kmph. The refinement on the engine especially shines when rolling from low 20kmph speeds to 60kmph for that quick overtake.

Refinement, on the whole, is worth noting, with noticeable vibrations only seeping in through the foot board at speeds around 85-90kmph. There are small bar-end weights which seems to work well in keeping the vibes away from the rider's hands. The chunky exhaust muffler certainly does its job well, giving out a deep note that - dare I say it - is quite motorcycle-like. This will certainly appeal to younger riders.
In terms of fuel efficiency, the Ntorq delivers 50.2kmpl in the city and 60kmpl on the highway.
Ride and handling
The seating position on the Ntorq is neutral and very comfortable. The seat feels a little softer than that on the Grazia. For this 5 foot 10 reviewer, the handles did not graze my knees even when making a tight turn. However, the footboard width could have been slightly more, considering that if a small backpack or packet is placed here, there is very little space for the rider's feet. That said, sporty scooters do tend to have narrower footboards for a more streamlined shape.
Seating position is comfortable on the Ntorq 125 and has enough space for the rider to move around wihtout bumping into edges or the handle. The footboard area has two hooks to hold packets
Unlike all other offerings in the segment that have hand-me-up underpinnings from their 110cc siblings, TVS has gone with a completely new rectangular profile underbone on the Ntorq. This adds more stiffness to the chassis, resulting in a more confident ride. Its wheelbase measures 1,285mm, at least 20mm longer than its direct competitors from Honda and Suzuki.

Despite this and the weight, the Ntorq handles sharply. It is very flickable and seems easy to tip into corners, making it fun to ride through traffic snarls too. In fact, the added heft lends the Ntorq a surefootedness at speeds exceeding 80kmph, which is confidence-inspiring. The suspension setup with a telescopic front and hydraulic rear shock is firm, yet pliant. It absorbs a majority of potholes and undulations. It also doesn't thud over big potholes as harshly as some other scooters.
The 220mm front disc is larger than the 190mm ones seen on the Ntorq's competition
The Ntorq has a 220mm front disc, which is 30mm larger than the Access 125 and Grazia's, and 130mm rear drum brake setup. This results in a braking time of 2.8s to come to a standstill from 60kmph. There is enough feedback through the levers as well. The brakes only lead to tyre squeals at the very end of a pull-in, which means there are no surprises to be had in case of sudden braking. The tyres help here providing a fair amount of grip in all urban scenarios.
Suspension setup on the Ntorq is firm to offer a more connected ride. However, it is also pliant enough to be comfortable in day to day use
Verdict
The Ntorq 125 is a good scooter and veers well towards the TVS way of bringing out machines that offer ample but not extreme performance, a la the Apache RR 310. Performance, especially in terms of outright acceleration is a little lacking but this scooter makes up for that with its refinement, which will also find appeal among more than just the youth. Whether this is enough to trounce the current leader Suzuki Access 125 remains to be seen. The lack of an LED headlamp as well as its high kerb weight are issues for the Ntorq. But neither gets in the way of comfort or convenience.
At Rs 58,750 (ex-showroom, Delhi) it is priced just Rs400 more than the Access 125. For that price, there is a lot of standard kit on it including those gorgeous black alloy wheels and the SmartXonnect connectivity system. Its styling is sporty enough to find appeal amongst the youth, yet not extreme enough to be limited to just them. TVS, then, appears to have found a great balance with the Ntorq 125.
