Oh that's such a sweet idea... Does make me wonder tho if Otogiri has always been a fan of Soba or if that came after becoming a vampire. Like, since Johannes is still alive, it wasn't all that long ago, so they could've found Soba in presumably Germany (i have no proof of them being German, but Margarete is a German name and Hänsel & Gretel is a German fairy tale, so decent chance they are), but it could also have started after she joined her Japanese Servamp. Especially looking at the wild character switch Belkia jumped for instantly lmao.

One headcanon I have is that Belkia has slightly different nicknames for Tsubaki depending on the language he is speaking in that moment, when he's using English he'll call him precious tsu tsu, but called him Tsubakyun when speaking Japanese (yes this is totally so I can have both nicknames be canon)

I adore this idea. Yes absolutely give me Berukia using both Tsu Tsu and Tsubakyun!

(I hc that any and all languages and nicknames are canon. If it's got a dub, congrats, any nickname changes are canon to me. The only exception is when the language completely changes the actual name

I think we've only seen Shamrock and Higan kill humans, Sakuya killed a subclass, Belkia did drink blood from a couple people but I don't think they died, and Otogiri only stabbed dodo and it wasn't a fatal stab, she only ever strung people up even though this chapter showed she can very much destroy people with her strings.

Like I can see basic fight training being a requirement due to how dangerous being a vampire can be. But it wouldn't surprise me if the 'elites' of team M were the only ones that have actually killed. Like maybe they decided at one point that it was necessary to protect the other subclasses who didn't want to fight.

I'm really sure Belkia has killed before, considering the way he talks and acts... And the stuff from his duo song with Tsubaki is also very stabby-killy xD

Otogiri is true, though even non-fatal stabbing would be a big step or should I say stab? and I could easily see her as having hurt/killed humans before, just not on-screen.

T/N: So, in the Tsubaki & Higan dialog, Higan literally asks Tsubaki to “cheat well” or “gloss over” it, but that seems to mean “Tell Sham some good reason that’s not ‘I washed it’“ lmao. And Tsubaki’s answer is literally “there’s a limit to the amount of variations of an excuse for why the phone broke”, but that felt a bit redundant lmao. Also, Higan, pls. Check your pockets. I’ve washed money before, I think once or twice a DS cartridge, but...

Otogiri technically just says “The smell stays” or “the smell clings”, but while that sounded fine in Japanese, I felt like it was missing something in English. Higan’s last line in that dialog is literally just “Uncle feels inferior”, but I figured it’s because Otogiri sends him out when it’s cold (I’m on her side).

Also, he still uses “old man”/”uncle” for “I” a few times more often than I translated bc it sounded weird to me to let him say it Every. Single. Time.

That little pause before Tsurugi replies... T_T
