Hi Sun, hi Moon! :D How do you guys attend to the children? I know Sun had that Killcode, I imagine since it's a complicated code to derive from your normal programmed coding, it took a while to separate? I'd assume if it was like, super progressed, most likely it'd have taken.. at least a few weeks or maybe a month/more? :P
Also can I hug you guys :3
Sun: Oh!! Our first ask!! How exciting!
Sun: Okay, okay, I practiced this, okay, *inhales*
Sun: Here in the Superstar Daycare, we offer a safe and clean space for the children to play in! We provide toys and activities, such as arts and crafts, games, read-aloud times for books both entertaining and educational, movies and television shows, healthy meals for lunch and tasty treats for snacktime, and plenty of indoor playgrounds for the children to run out their energy! We have castles, the many tunnels of our play places, slides, and the ballpit of course!
Sun: I supervise the children at all times and ensure they’re always playing safely and having fun! I lead during activities, and help ensure all of our little superstars have something to do and are comfortable! I’m equipped to care for children with special needs, or various allergies or conditions! In the event of an injury, I’m programmed with first aid training.
Sun: And after hours, I clean the daycare and keep it washed, sanitized, and spotless!
Sun: And MOON–!
Moon: …
Sun: …
Moon: …
Sun: …
Sun: –Isn't here a lot of the time.
Moon: Nope!
Moon: I just supervise naptime. (I think you mean I supervise naptime most of the time.) I make the kids lay down and sleep. (I usually end up doing that cuz he doesn’t show up for WORK very often–!) If they don’t wanna, moondrop candies work WONDERS. (At least that’s one of the NICER ways you deal with the kids.)
Moon: I dunno what you want from me, I’m not good with kids.
Sun: Says the guy I’ve caught reading bedtime stories and singing to the kids.
Moon: *AHEM* They also want to know about the killcode and how we separated.
Sun: Oh… they do? I don't, I don't, uh…
Moon: I can take this part.
Sun: Yeah… please…
Sun: …You're better at the sciency stuff anyways!
Moon: Alright, about that.
Moon: The only thing I will say about Sun's Killcode is that IT wasn't the issue when it came to separating.
Moon: What sucked about separating was that Sun and I were built in such a way that everything we were was intertwined. Our minds, our codes, all of it was built to rely on both halves being there. The body itself was designed to have two separate AIs, and it was a HUGE RISK for the body to only have one AI after one of us left. (In their infinite wisdom, whoever made us designed us that way intentionally. The dick.)
Moon: Sun and I were so entangled that separating was a massive risk to us; if we weren't extremely careful, our minds could be damaged when being pulled apart from each other. So that was one thing, making sure we could unwind our codes without breaking either of us.
Moon: The Killcode wasn't a big deal when it came to this; that thing was just one bit of code among a million others.
Moon: Then I had to find a way to make sure Sun's body could survive only having the one AI instead of two, and THAT was a whole thing...
Moon: I started researching this as soon as Sun and I stopped fighting You really wanna know how long it took? It took over a YEAR! A year of research trying to figure this out, only a few hours each day, in the short periods of time when I was able to move when the lights were out. Once the lights came back on and Sun was back out, I couldn't DO anything.
Moon: It was HELL.
Moon: ...
Moon: But, as for when we finally had everything ready, the actual procedure itself only took about a day…
Moon: We were sitting around, hooked up to the computer down in parts and services, and the computer combed through our heads to make sure everything was in the right place.
Moon: (At least, that's what it was SUPPOSED to do... Except now we find out it might have made an error and given me too much of Sun's code... his killcode...)
Sun: (Um...)
Moon: As for the Killcode, all you need to know is it's gone now. Sun doesn't have it anymore.
Moon: That was a fair question to ask though.
Sun: *AHEM!* Okay, okay, that’s all they need to hear about THAT! Moving on!!
Sun: …
Sun: Oh yeah there's one more part to the question!
Sun: They wanna know if they can get a hug!
Moon: Oh do they.
Sun: If you want to, sure! I give the kids hugs all the time, so why not!
Moon: No you may not. Don't touch me.

Sun in my Killswap AU! A Swap AU that explores the canon TSAMS storyline if Sun had the Killcode instead of Moon.
The Killcode behaves a little differently, so here’s a rundown:
Most of the time, Sun was perfectly safe to be around. The Killcode only took effect in response to certain triggers happening to Sun: the primary trigger, and the emotional heart of this AU, is a response to him being mistreated or abused -- by anyone, but especially by Moon. The Killcode would trigger when Sun reached a certain threshold of negative feelings like anger, helplessness, or pain (which Moon dealt out in spades when he was stuck without his own body.) It didn’t happen every time; Sun had to be pushed far before it would take effect. But when he was pushed to a limit, that’s when the Killcode kicked in. In this AU, it is a symbol for “taking revenge against those who have hurt you,” which is a mentality Sun desperately fights against, fighting against stooping to that level or continuing the cycle, but the Killcode is like a switch that flips and his personality changes. He fears his own negative emotions because of this, even after seemingly getting rid of the code.
Sun does not want to be a violent or vengeful person, and does not want to hurt or kill anyone, but he feels negative emotions just like anyone else – and the Killcode reacts to those emotions. A truly unfair situation.
(The Killcode’s second primary trigger is when someone breaks the rules too much, which is “disrupting order” – Sun's dedication to the rules, cleaning up messes, and organization taken to the extreme, and also Creator's secret intention for making Sun this way.)
Sun sometimes got stuck in this Killcode-influenced state, and would only turn back to normal when the lights shut off and Moon came out, which was like flipping the switch back on Sun’s personality and he would come back to himself.
When Sun and Moon decided to separate, Sun wanted to get rid of his Killcode and snuck it through the transfer process into Moon’s new body. And thus Eclipse manifested inside Moon… That fragment of Sun, trapped and tormented inside the chaotic mind of the one who had abused him.
And that’s the foundation for Killswap Sun! From that familiar starting point with the three main leads (the twins and Eclipse), things branch out and there are a lot of new things:
How Moon’s abuse of Sun gets dealt with differently in this AU, how it factors into MOON’S overall arc too;
Sun’s relationship with Eclipse, where HE’S the one who inadvertently created him; Sun feels guilty over realizing he abandoned Eclipse to a miserable situation, but then, he also hates him when he becomes their primary villain;
When Solar is implanted by Eclipse into Sun’s head, and how Sun interacts with this new person who is in the same position Moon was ages ago.
How Sun reacts when the Sun-variant Killcode regenerates and evolves to gain sentience, and how he deals with this.
Sun learns Eclipse had created TWO MORE MURDEROUS AIS inside of Moon that Sun can blame himself over: Blacksun, the Burn Twins.
I’m having fun with this AU and would love to start writing or drawing it out.

TSAMS Killswap AU Part 1 (second half)!
The first half is here.
Uh oh. Looks like there's something a little off with Moon. Poor Sun had to suffer the Killcode before, but now it seems Moon has a fragment of it? It definitely makes him act strange. And poor Sun looks really nervous about it! But who can blame him?
But, surely it's no big deal. It'll all be fine, right? Moon's weird behavior is nothing to worry about. That's toootally normal.

TSAMS Killswap AU Part 1 (first half)!
The second half is here.
As you can see, Sun and Moon are having a GREAT time ever since they separated, and everything is fine in their lives! There's nothing sinister happening! Just brothers who have a healthy relationship and go on adventures!
Right?

Moon in the Killswap AU, to go along with Sun! This Swap AU explores TSAMS if Sun had been the one with the killcode – and by extension, Moon is the one Eclipse manifests inside of.
The twins’ backstory is almost the same as canon. Moon was born with no control over the body, and was angry and lashed out at Sun for this (and was an asshole to pretty much everyone else when he did have control.) Sun was afraid of him, but still tried to reach out. They came to an understanding, became brothers, and found a way to separate.
Where the backstory differed is with Sun. His killcode was like a switch that activated when he was pushed to a limit, reacting to abuse, mistreatment, the breaking of rules. Moon’s abuse was one of the things that could trigger Sun’s killcode, which emotionally destroyed Sun every time he came back to himself to find someone dead by his hands; during these early years, Moon was so bitter about his circumstances that he sometimes egged Sun on and mocked him for his efforts to not kill people.
But eventually, he knew Sun was not to blame, and wanted to change for the better. He wanted to help Sun suppress his Killcode. So, he separated them, so they could start a new chapter in their lives.
But Sun considered himself too weak to ever fully control his killcode – so while they were in the process of separating, he secretly snuck it through the datastream into Moon’s head, who he thought would never be affected by it.
And Eclipse manifested inside of Moon, who was “Sun” trapped alone within the mind of his abuser…
And a year later Eclipse shows up and begins his crusade to ruin the brothers’ lives and to find the Star to bring order to the world! While inside Moon, he starts amplifying Moon’s faults. He eggs on his abusive behavior towards Sun, his assholish behavior to others, and, one of Moon’s biggest struggles: his controlling nature.
Because these are all faults that Moon has, and Eclipse shines an especially strong light on them. This causes tension between the brothers as they try to figure out what to do, when Eclipse keeps hijacking Moon’s body in search of that Star.
(Especially when Sun’s killcode starts regenerating, and as with before, when Moon is abusive towards Sun, that is one of the big triggers to make the killcode’s influence stronger and stronger until Killcode as a sapient entity is strong enough to be born. For Sun’s arc, the killcode is like a metaphor for “taking revenge and hurting the people who hurt you back,” which Sun desperately wants to fight against.)
And so, one of the big parts of the AU is Moon having to learn to be a better person – to keep changing for the better -- to unlearn his abusive patterns. That will be the key.
Because one thing’s for sure: Sun is the most important person in Moon’s world. Even during the times when he hurts him, he still loves him more than anything. He vows he WILL protect Sun (and the rest of his family that come later), he will keep Eclipse from the Star so he can’t use it to kill them, he will save Sun when Solar is implanted in his head (and later, protect Solar when he is their brother), he will find a way to remove Sun’s killcode when it regenerates and becomes sentient.
(But it won’t be that easy. And, well, when things keep NOT going his way, Moon might end up with a very unhappy arc that ends in disastrous consequences the way it did for Sun when Sun killed Bloodmoon…)
And that’s an overview for Moon!
Some other notes:
Moon has very little knowledge of Magig. Sun is the master magic user.
Moon is the one who suffered July 16 because of the Blacksun Burn Twins, and boy is he mad at them.
Roxanne replaces Monty and is Sun’s close friend. Whether there is a crush or not, Moon still teases Sun about having a crush on Roxanne.
It’ll be fun to write how Moon interacts differently with Solar and Killcode when they control Sun’s body. (He first realizes Solar is in there when Solar isn’t good at acting happy and jittery like Sun.) (But he haaaaates Killcode’s guts sososo much you guys.)
(It will also shine a light on Killswap Moon’s difference between Old Moon and New Moon from TSAMS canon.)
That’s him! I should probably draw Eclipse next!

Premise for the AU:
Welcome to the Killswap AU! This is a swap AU for The Sun and Moon Show!
Here, Sun and Moon have the same personalities and backstory as in TSAMS canon, but Sun was the one created with the Killcode instead of Moon; and as a result, "Eclipse" (here, Lunara) manifested inside of Moon. And the story plays out from there! The other characters are swapped, and a lot of story beats are similar but change over time!
How does this blog work?
The story is shown through a mix of art and writing! Some parts will be full comics, single images, a written chapter, answered asks, etc.
In-universe, Sun and Moon run this blog, having started it to share their crazy lives with the world before all the bad stuff starts happening. So in many posts, they will speak directly to the audience! (But as with the Show, the audience gets an omnipresent view of their lives, even things they don't post themselves.)
This is also an ask blog! As the story unfolds, you may ask the characters questions, and they'll answer them! Doing so could also help push the story along! (The story itself will continue regardless of whether there are asks or not.)
If you send in an ask, tailor it to where we are in the storyline! Questions like "watch out, X villain is going to do THIS in the future, you have to stop it now!" or "In a few months, X character is going to do THAT!" would be spoilers and not match the flow. But you can give suggestions and point things out that the characters might listen to!
And overall, have fun!

Been getting really into my idea for a TSAMS Swap AU, the "Killswap" AU, which explores what happens when Sun had the Killcode instead of Moon.
Some ideas I'm playing with are like
Things in the AU start off mostly the same as canon -- Sun and Moon have the same personalities and backstory, the main difference being that, when they were in the same body, Moon never killed anyone (though he WAS still the same sarcastic asshole and was mean to the kids), and Sun is the one who ended up killing people. The Killcode works a little differently in this AU: it only takes effect inside Sun when certain things trigger it.
There are a couple ways to trigger it, but the primary one is the emotional core in this AU, which is that the Killcode reacts in response to Sun being mistreated by others, when he reaches a certain emotional threshold of anger or helplessness. It represents "hurting someone who has hurt you back"; the idea of revenge. Sun understands this is happening to him and desperately pushes back against that mentality and doesn't WANT people back, but the Killcode is like a switch that flips and forces this drastic violent behavior onto him. Sun fears having any negative emotions because he is afraid to snap and hurt people; even after seemingly getting rid of the Killcode, he is scared to feel anger. It feels almost like a monster inside him; especially later on when the Killcode regenerates and especially later gains sentience.
Sun wasn't dangerous the vast majority of the time, still loved and worked well with the kids, and was the twin who was out the most. (He would kill humans when the second major trigger of the Killcode took place, which is reaching a certain threshold of rage at people who "disrupt order" aka his anger at rulebreakers taken to the extreme. He took to so quickly banning people from the Daycare after they broke rules as a defense mechanism to not let things escalate to the point they got dangerous.)
(Sometimes Sun would get "stuck" in his Killcode-influenced state, and the only way to flip the switch back is if the lights went off and Moon came out. Moon coming out acted as a switch to turn the Killcode back off and Sun would come back to himself. This ties in with Moon's character arc for this AU, which I won't go into yet, but the best thing to highlight for it is "control.")
That's how things went in the backstory.
Then, Eclipse is born because Sun tried to get rid of his Killcode by secretly giving it to Moon when they were separating, which means Killswap Eclipse is a "Moon Variant" in this AU. (Free of the Killcode for a year or two, Sun and Moon live the same as they do in TSAMS canon up until Eclipse starts to make his move, and Moon begins to show concerning behaviors.....)
But after that familiar starting point, more things are different; characters are swapped around in a more traditional manner (Lunar and Solar, Roxy and Monty), or some characters who are either a Sun-types or Moon-types have their alignments shifted to the other one (the Bloodmoon Blood Twins become the Blacksun Burn Twins, etc).
Oh and Sun is the master magic user trained by Golden Freddy in this AU, and Moon has no idea about magic or how to incorporate it into his hypergenius technology. Because I said so.
I'm having fun with this one, I'll definitely try to make some stuff for it sometime.
