The morning light shone through my bedroom window as the sun risen to greet the day. I grind the sleep out of my eyes, trying to mentally prepare myself to get out of bed. I look at my alarm clock and see it flashing 2:30. Crap! The storm must have knocked the power out for a bit in the middle of the night. My eyes snap open in shock as I see my wall clock indicate it was 9:15, more than an hour late for work. Shit!

With lighting speed, I fling the covers off my bed and get dressed. As I cross the room, I see in the corner I have a stack of dollar bills. I seem to have close to 200, maybe 300. Sweet, I thought. With this and my next paycheck, I can afford to take a day off to spend the day with my best friend for her birthday. No one knows exactly why, but for some reason these last few years, everytime someone makes a person laugh, that person would magically get a dollar. You wake up and right in your bedroom you would see a small pile of cash, a dollar for every person you've made laugh. It's still a mystery how it happenens, some people think it's good karma for making someone happy, others think it's to soften a blow after something embarrassing happens to you and everyone laughs. Either way, many people just sorta accept it. Who could argue with free money? On average a person may get 10 dollars on a regular day, give or take a few. By now I'm sure you're curious why I have about 200 dollars.

Well for one thing, I'm in an improv group. Yes I know, laugh it up. Anyways, many of us in the group have made up some characters from some of our shows, and sometimes we perform in character. Well every year we do a charity show we come up with together, we sorta do a funny stage play we would base off a popular character we've done during the year. Well, by some luck, my character Wacky Jackie ended up being the fan favorite, so this year I, or rather Wacky Jackie, ended up being the star of the show. While 200 people coming to the show may not seem like a lot, it was only opening night. Word travels fast in a small town, and we're doing another performance tonight and next week, we're sure to have a packed house this evening. I loved performing as Jackie. In a way, she's like me, but in some ways she's the opposite. She's goofy, fun, sassy, while in real life, I was timid and shy. However, my silly side does come out a lot when I'm with my friends or people who know me. I initially joined the improv group since I found out my best friend Jodie was in it and I wanted to see her (sometimes our work schedules make it impossible to see each other otherwise), but I ended staying because I really enjoyed it. Jodie had noticed I had come out of my shell a bit, and I made some friends with some of the other members. I really liked performing onstage, and honestly, I wouldn't mind making a career out of it.

I got dressed and grabbed my phone (which I realize was off, I decided to keep it that way until break) and I stuffed about 20 of the dollars into my purse (for bus fair and lunch). I'll deposit the rest of this money at the bank later, I thought. Out the door I ran to catch the next bus to the mall.

As soon as the bus left me off the corner, I ran inside the Build a Bear where I worked, apologizing to Mrs. Dailey, the boss, for being late.

"Nevermind that!" dismissed Mrs. Dailey, "Just put on your apron and help someone stuff a bear." she demanded with a wave of her fingers. I did as she said and met my friend Marli at the cashier counter.

"I loved the show last night btw" she said as she was sewing a brown bunny with a hole in his seem. "Mrs. Dailey liked it too, she just won't admit it."

I smiled. "Who knows, that's probably the only reason I didn't get fired or something." I walked around taking inventory. It was a slow day, but then again, it was only morning. There were some people who went in to look around, but only a couple bought anything. We expected to get more customers later today when the kids were let out of school. A couple people looked at me a bit odd. I didn't think much of it, that is until about an hour later, an 8 year old girl with her Mom entered the store.

"Hi welcome to Build a Bear!" greeted Marli. The girl smiled and went straight to pick out a bear to stuff. She choose a pink princess bear.

"It's her birthday." said the Mom.

"I'm 8!" said the girl with a wide grin, holding up 8 fingers. "School let out early today, so Mom took me here! Said I can get any bear I want!"

"Aw happy birthday!" said Marli. "Janet can help you stuff your bear." I led the girl and her mother to the stuffing station. As I helped her with getting the bear stuffed, the girls eyes lit up.

"I know who you are!" she said. "You're Wacky Jackie!" I was a bit surprised, but I smiled.

"That's my name, don't wear it out!" I said in Jackie's voice which made the girl smile. "Did you see the play last night?"

"No, but we're going to see it tonight." answered the little girl, who burst into giggles. "It was so funny when you slipped." That was weird, I thought. I had unintentionally slipped in one part in last night's performance. I was embarrassed for a second, but I got up and saved it, which the audience thought was funny. But how could she have known if she didn't see it?

"Wait, I thought you didn't see the show?" I said a bit confused.

"Well, I saw a video on YouTube." she answered. "I saw you on the posters and recognized you. If that part was funny, I can't wait to see the rest of the show." Someone posted a video online!? I felt my hands get sweaty and my heart pounding a drum solo.

"Its online!?" I manage to say stuttering. "I didn't post it online!"

"Well somebody did!" said the little girl. My head felt like it was running a million miles. After the little girl and her Mom were done shopping, I went up to Marli.

"Hey, can you cover for me while I take a break?" I asked. "It's an emergency!"

"Okay sure I guess." she said "What's wrong Janet?"

"I'll explain later." I said as I went into the storage room with my phone. As soon as I turn my phone on, I got flooded by messages, mostly from Jodie, a few from family members and some Facebook notifications. I call Jodie back and she answers on the first ring.

"Um Janet, I don't know how to say this, but you've gone viral!" she says.

"How!?" I manage to say, barely catching my breath.

"I'm not sure, but I think a fan recorded the performance on their phone or something. They seem to have recorded a few clips apparently, but this one got popular somehow! Here I'll send you a link." she said. My text notification went off as I got Jodie's message with the video link. I opened the link, and got sent to a video marked "Wacky Jackie Slips! (So Funny)" Oh no!

In a somewhat blurry phone cam video, here I was onstage in my polka dotted pink dress with my yellow apron. It was at the beginning of the play, I had ran on the stage excitedly with a mic in hand. "It's the Wacky Jackie Show, starring me, Wacky Jackie!" I announced, but for whatever reason, my heel ended up caught on the edge of a rug or something, and I ended up slipping and falling hard on my rear end. A bunch of people laughed, probably thinking it was part of the show. At practice, we were always taught that any mistakes we made, we're supposed to play off as if we did that on purpose, so that's exactly what I did. I chuckled, stood up, smirked as I put my hands on my hips and said "I meant to do that!" which earned a round of laughter and applause from the audience. With that I went into my routine, business as usual, and the video ended. I saw the views of that video was in the 100,000's. This was crazy.

After splashing some cold water on my face, I went back to work. As the day went on, more and more people began to recognize me. The store soon became packed as people wanted to see me. The rest of my day was a blur as I went home. I wanted to rest a bit before tonight's performing. When I opened the door of my bedroom, I saw the small pile of 200 dollars had quickly filled up the whole room. I've never seen this much cash in one place. How many views did the video get!? I went to find the video again (it ended up on the top 10 trending list). The video had 10 million hits!

Well money is tight right now and I'm shopping around for a new auto insurance. I live in CA and so far the cheapest one I've found is Mercury insurance. Hi, Me and my fiancee currently own and insure a Rover 25, V reg, 1.4 ltr, through Quinn. I'm the main driver and she's a named driver. We currently pay about 400 for tpf&t for the policy, and this has been roughly the price since we started the policy about 2 1/2 years ago. We're now looking at getting a second car as we will be working in different areas. My Grandma offered me her old Nissan Micra (1.3 ltr, K-reg) for us to have. I phoned up Quinn to get a quote for this car and they quoted 2,020!! I can't understand why it's so much more expensive, it's ridiculous! The lady I spoke to couldn't give me any adequate explanation of why it was so expensive, though she mentioned that we wouldn't be able to use a NCB on it as it would have to be an entirely new policy. But we took our first car policy with no NCB and that was a fraction of the price. Apparently the micra is called a Super-S or something, though it is not suped up or a fancy model or anything. Could that be it? We've tried a few other insurers and they also give expensive quotes (1000+) though not as ridiculous as Quinn. Any ideas why it would be so expensive? What could we change to try to make it cheaper? Change each car to have one named driver ony? Try a different car? Find a multicar insurer?
