you know no shade to the original Barbie filmography but I do feel like the 2023 Barbie movie about a doll that suddenly becomes aware of her own mortality which sets her off on a quest to repair gender trauma and realize her own humanity while also leading a resistance coalition against a tyrannical Ken government is way more accurate to the absolutely unhinged way we actually played with barbies, like it鈥檚 not quite the level of making your Barbies conspire to run someone over with a car and hide the body before getting into a fight over a decades old affair but it鈥檚 closer
