ALPHA WIFE:

𝙼𝙴𝙻𝙸𝚃𝚃𝙰 𝙺𝙽𝙴𝚆 𝙾𝙽𝙴 𝚃𝙷𝙸𝙽𝙶 ,      and that was she would never survive this again.    (   𝘩𝑒𝑟 𝘩𝑢𝑠𝑏𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑏𝑒𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑚𝑖𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔  )      she had suffered in her long life.   and yet nothing compared to the emptiness of knowing that Rex was out there somewhere.   that he was suffering.   their bond let her know that,   she could feel everything that happened to him.   and it was breaking her.   luckily though,   her brother had this innate ability to track anyone,   ANYWHERE.

 SHE  LOOKS  OVER  AT  HER  FATHER  IN  LAW ,    understanding his pain.       𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝘩𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 𝘩𝑒𝑟 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑠𝑤𝑒𝑟𝑠 .       it wasn’t a situation she was used too.   but she was the alpha queen now,   and with her husband missing,   every responsibility fell on her.

    “    my brother and i have found him.   AND WE’RE ABOUT TO LEAVE TO GET HIM.    ”        she hoped her words were soothing.   worked to ease the pain.     (  …   WHILST HER OWN STILL FLARED TO LIFE.  )              “    you are staying here and controlling the pack   .  .  .  .    no arguments  !!  ”   she makes sure there is some force in her tone as she speaks.   knowing  he would argue with her.   and if she was honest she understood it.   BUT THIS WAS HER STANCE.

   “    i promise Roy.    I’LL BRING HIM HOME.   we’ll both come home.    ”        what she wasn’t saying was she knew who had Rex.   who the demon was that was hurting him.     (  …   AND HAD HURT HER FAR TOO MANY TIMES.  )        but this was her fight.   and nothing,   not even her father,   would stop her from getting her love home.    she had too.    FOR THEIR FUTURE.

He couldn’t stand just doing nothing, waiting helplessly as his son was out somewhere - God knows what was happening to him. In the name of honor, he couldn’t go against the orders he had been given, but damn it to Hell if Roy Howard wouldn’t snap at any moment if something didn’t change and soon. That’s what was going through his mind as he stood by his wife, Carolyn’s embrace around him being the only real thing that kept him from storming off. Steel blues - like that of his son’s - stared intensely at Melitta as she spoke, his heart pounding in his throat. There should have been some relief - he felt the weight of his wife shift as they were finally given some good news - but Roy couldn’t let himself feel any comfort, not until his son was home. In his tragic absence, the former Alpha had done a lot of thinking - the constant state of worry gnawing at his mind as he couldn’t stop himself from fearing the worse. In this time, he came to some conclusions - revelations that he hoped had not been too late.

There was no verbal response from him, he could only nod as he drew his beloved in closer, hugging her tight.

MEANWHILE...

Footsteps stirred him awake, a form appearing in his hazy vision. He growled, through it was weak and raspy. Pain once again grasped him as he was backhanded across the face, his head throbbing and a ringing sounded off in his ears. Though frail and sickly, Rex continued to resist his assailant, spitting globules of bloody saliva at the man’s feet. 

“Fuck...you...”
