Ayyyyy! Hunger games! Side question: do u know/memorized/heard the hanging tree song? Have u ever sung it as a lullaby to a child or a loved one as they sleep?

Also, the title slaps. The HUM of the TRACKER JACKER?????? It is giving me FEELS.

Thank you so much for this very extensive ask, Quo! I fricken love talking about the Hunger Games so this is very welcome. Also stop, now you’re making me blush.

Okay, to the task at hand… My plan for this fic is to follow Peeta immediately following Katniss blowing up the forcefield. So getting left in the arena, being taken by the Capitol, tortured, manipulated, hijacked, etc. Then rescued by District 13. I’m not sure how far much further I’ll take it but yeah!

In regards to the Hanging Tree, that song was my childhood ANTHEM. My best friend and I were obsessed with the Hunger Games so we would sing it practically constantly. I’ve never sung it meaningfully, more so while traipsing around the bush pretending we were in the arena or hunting squirrels in the forrest or whatever…
