if you don't like raven centric stories or fics or even people who like raven why do you ship bbrae genuinely asking. there are other characters one can ship gar with?

i don't like raven-centric fics in the sense that it's raven-biased in a bbrae fic, like i said, i don't appreciate when a writer is so obvious in showing that their goal is to make gar as their self-insert and nothing else, honestly this applies to all fics i'm reading, like for example back in 2021 where i had to stop reading a levihan fic because they were bashing eren a little too much for my liking and dragging his already burnt corpse through the ground and putting the ashes into the wind in the end notes, this was like a modern au and they were still putting him through hell like i'm just saying if you don't like a character so much to the point where you writing them in the story is practically self-harm why do it all? it's your story, where's the creative liberty? i digress, my gripe is with the writers who write it that way, it's a matter of preference and as i said in the tags, garfield-centric stories are better because they respect both characters in a way and they're actually new and fresh but with raven they're always rehashing her demon-side and if they're not doing that they'll always start with her being mundane and free from the titans and then they'll rehash her demon side and trigon

i argue that what happened in the current Titans run is a matter of closure with herself and hopefully the last time we even see raven being influenced by trigon or having him as the reason why her demon is acting up in the first place, like raven has been running away from her father for years and when she does the writers will go okay, let's give this girl no break from the noose that is her father's blood, like okay i get it it's a hard thing to remove exactly but it's also very unfair for raven who keeps going through the same damn thing, i admit i do bookmark fics like that but only because they have their own twist of the story...and to be honest with you i'm also writing a raven-centric fic myself albeit this one's probably going to be very angst-filled, it's a story of a catholic guilt and religious trauma which is what i am full of. anyways,

to clear up i don't like those people who like raven because they're really weird, like what do you mean your username is raven's virginity...this is a character who was born out of rape WHO BTW is not the one on tumblr but rather on twitter who me and my friends spam reported because not only were they weird about raven they were also drawing CP of other characters or just in general but you can tell they were def drawing smth with err child raven

and it just rubs me off not to mention the whole post i made about people who like raven are editing her most vulnerable scenes...like it's romanticizing at best and in the wrong way, she was a minor too like...can we be serious, i don't like people who like raven because MOST OF THE TIME SOME OF THEM ONLY SEE her as what, gooning material? fine shyt? as they say? It's fine to like her but there is a certain line between actually getting her character instead of mindlessly going about how goth err mommy she is, it’s gross, not to mention my own male friends do this so it's very uncomfortable and again i do not hate raven i hate her fans the same way one loves mha and dislikes its fandom, the same way i like kori but not her fans because god knows they're always pitting her with someone whether it's from marvel or dc. i'm pretty selective in who i choose to hang out with or talk with that's why sometimes i don't talk at all, if you like raven that's okay but if you like her in a way that's well, really concerning to society then er...and as a raven fan would do i just sequester myself into this small bubble i'm with and make do with the people who like me enough and coax me to overshare and so on and so forth, i don't care if you're my favorite author, if i do not vibe with you, i will not vibe with you at all.

it feels wrong to say i even hate raven because i related to her most since i was 6, she's actually one of my favorite characters, a place that she usually fights with gar and dick in my head or the whole teen titans 2003 itself, i actually made tweets on her in twitter expressing my hatred of how so many people fail to perceive her as "eldritch horror, the foil of jesus christ himself, sacrificial lamb, harbinger of death" and so on and so forth and go on to see her as "big tiddy mommy goth gf" like...why is that her only attribute? i would say that this is the fault of teen titans 2003 but i love the series so i will blame it on the gooners.

also this is based on what i've seen but do how i see it, gar is well, he's really mistreated and downplayed a lot in fics or in media in general, i cannot even begin to express how much i hate the horse thing about gar, the writers treat him like how he was treated by DC when he got shot by slade.

and for the final point, i like bbrae because they're literally my OGs, i've shipped them first along with dickrae but garrae always comes first, but i like them when they're soft to each other and when they're perfectly understanding to one another, this is why i knew i liked them when raven hugged gar because i knew in the long run that these two who practically share the same livelihood, same traits and same demons and still have contrasts and all are twin flames, i cannot expect other ships to live up to garrae because first i have sentimental values to what i liked when i was 6, second i cannot see anyone understanding gar or raven the same way they do with each other, i cannot see anyone who would anchor and lighten up raven the way gar would and i cannot see anyone who would placate and keep gar on his feet like raven does, i'm sorry but this is asking me to buy something like chips in SnR instead of just buying chicken rolls and pizza, i also wouldn't ship a ship if i knew i liked the other more than both of them, which is why i ship lottieshauna instead of jackieshauna.

so long story short; i hate raven-centric media with bad-writing and little to no twists and is so blatant that gar is just their self-insert, i love raven because she is me, technically i am garrae's child, i hate people who like raven because most of them are GOONERS NOT STANS and they're weird ABOUT HER most of the time, they can't share an intellectual conversation with me about her at all unlike yk ACTUAL STANS and lasttt is i love garrae too much, bbterra wishes they weren't doomed, damirae wishes they were almost canon in every universe and dickrae wishes they had this much content to work with in canon, i will never let them go, you can pry them off my cold dead hands alas even my corpse won't let them go, they're coming with me.
