“I was a physics major when I was at MIT, but after hearing all the stories from my grandfather about his time in the army, I guess I sorta felt like I wasn’t doing enough. So I signed up, and now I’m here.”

“Hold on, lemme get this straight. You attended MIT, one of the most difficult schools to get into, and left to come disarm bombs?

“Makes ya rethink the genius idea, don’t it?” Jack shot out.

“Honorable? Hell yeah, but smart? Hell no. I’m here right now for college, and I didn’t even get that.”

“My parents woulda beat the shit outta me if I dropped out of college before joining up. Yours didn’t say anything?”

Mac shrugged. “My mom died from cancer when I was five, and I haven’t seen my dad in just about eleven years. If he didn’t care about me when I was ten, I doubt he’d care about me when I’m twenty-one.”

“If it makes you feel any better, I’m happy to have got to met you. You make me feel like a fucking idiot all the time but you’re a pretty cool dude.”

“I appreciate it. I don’t think my dad even wanted to be a dad. I don’t remember much from when my mom was alive, but he never really gave me the time of day when I was growing up; always working and throwing me at my grandfather, and then just left when I turned ten. Don’t know where he is or what he’s doing, and I don’t really care to be honest. If he didn’t show an interest in my life, why should I show an interest in his.”

i'm worried you guys have overestimated my writing skills a tad. first and foremost the old religion fic would still be about merthur. it would also, however, be about nimueh and (most likely) ygraine - a type of unrequited love. there would be other (original) pairings mentioned, but not too in depth. it would also have morgwen. but!!! i don't know how much justice i can actually do to the entire concept of the old religion. the original idea was to write it about love as a curse. through nimueh/ygraine/uther. how the high priestesses, and others with great power, haunt the land - powerful, lost and alone. it's meant to be a reflection on the original storyline of 'love can't save you, it can only bury you deeper and leave you a shadow'. it's about getting trapped, lost in the steps of a land you were supposed to cherish and nurture, a land you no longer recognise, doomed by your choices that hold weight over others and damned by the ones you trusted and loved. it's through the looking-glass of old religion. you must understand.

thinking back to a year ago when i was having a mini meltdown because it was 43 division time and i was worried their dynamic would fade over time and they would only ever joke in passing about one another and. now. over a year later, lando played cards with him in some burger restaurant for 3 hours and presumably stayed at his home in perth for a mini vacation. jesus fuck. how did we get here. i feel like i could break something

things i know how to draw and want to better:

-human head from the front that looks alright as an artstyle

-eyes

-hair but not really curly one

-some hairstyles, as long as it isn't braids

-gradients

things i kinda know how to drawa dn want to improve:

-anatomy, but only front and sometimes the hands suck and the feet are always wrong

-swords and other sharp things, love 'em, i get the proportions wrong half the time

-basic clothing, t shirt and pants and boots, no folds tho, apart from when i draw an athenian chiton i think the word is

-hands they're stuck in the limbo of sometimes they're good but not often

things i don't know how to draw but want to learn how to:

-backgrounds, the patience does not exist

-most shoes, that involves proper anatomy for the feet and ankles and also are more complicated then boots

-objects, i focused too much on the human body

-clothing folds

-food, any food

-poses, the anatomy is off
