i love both very dearly :) i draw dsprite a lot more partly bc of the self imposed sprite rules i made for my pc au. seb’s an exception, lets just say some kind of splinter bullshit happened lol.

pre retcon dave had that convo w jade abt ds. the way he talked abt him’s can be easily summarized by saing “hes me when it’s beneficial and not me when it makes me uncomfortable/ makes me need to confront some things.”

he’d totally just compartmentalize any interactions in that way lmfao. oh so youre a catbird sprite thing? alright im an ally do your thing bro i mean they. nepeta’s side of things wants to just PRY him open and the dave side’s like this is going to be so much fun. dps wants to fuck with him SOOO badly but also doesnt want him to run away from the egg crackification process. dave keeps avoiding dps not so casually but jade keeps looking at him disappointedly so they have to hang out. jade knows that theyre pulling something’s so tells dps to ease up on dave but thats literally an impossible ask.

here is tar'x laran!!

also known as cipher thirteen, he's the husband of suri sauthon, and father of vegoia.

backstory under the cut! + more of his biology and culture in the notes of the ugly second pic

tar'x laran was born on the harsh planet of iritran, one of the earliest colony world of iridonia. as the little world (almost as big as a moon) didn't have much to offer, and had a pretty rough environment, those first colonizers were left stranded, they then evolved into a subspecies, and then were found again thousands of years later by some falleens, member of the black sun. they quickly made an outpost there, to better disguise their illegal trades on ord mantell, but with their growing arrogance and power, and the diminishing of their need to hide, iritran officially became colony of the falleens.

his parents belonged to the mercenary class. even if it paid well, and was generally considered an upper class under the black sun's rule, the life of a mercenary was obviously dangerous, and his mother died on the job when he was about 13. his father, instead, had lost the lower half of his legs for the same reason some years prior.

the amounts of credits the couple had earned thanks to their job, though, gave tar'x some time to train before he had to start working to help his family. his father trained him very harshly for a few years, so that he could become an expert mercenary able to provide for his family - now consisting of the two and a younger brother, ram'tha, aged 3.

that was the plan: he'd become a mercenary like his parents, and he would provide for his father and his brother, whom he loved very dearly. it was mainly tar'x who took care of him. ram'tha was a strange kid, too - it's not that their parents didn't love him, or had other business to do, they just weren't naturally as good with him as tar'x was.

ram'tha was a silent kid, he didn't speak a word before age 4 and in a few weeks he started speaking with full, comprehensible sentences, as if he hadn't been completely silent for years before that. he would spend a lot of time going around - or wanting to go around - and for some time, his favorite hobby was "touching new things". tar'x didn't question it and just took him around and watched over him. sometimes he would bring home stuff for him to contemplate. he didn't know what a force sensitive was, yet, and he wouldn't have recognize the force even if it had shown itself through more blatant ways like telekinesis. ram'tha was very good with sensing abilities and was particularly well versed in psychometry, for his age. it was obviously a rougher and raw version of what trained force-users could develop, but it was enough to keep him entertained as a child. tar'x would've understood that a long time later.

the gentless of taking care of him made tar'x life bearable, after his mother's passing and during the harsh training. when the sith came to his town and took him away when he was just 6 years old, he immediately joined the imperial army. his skills as a mercenary made him stand out among the others and he quickly drew the attention of intelligence agents, who recruited him. he began as an informer, spying on criminal syndicates that would hire him as mercenary thanks to his family's reputation.

as he gained experience, his superiors decided to promote him to cipher, and he abandoned his name to become cipher thirteen. he thought that such a position would help him find his brother: without a name that could give away his reasons, and with more intel within hand's reach that any other department in the sith empire.

I'll slowly post some of his most important missions, i already have the one where he met suri in the drafts. i just wanna find some time to quickly sketch something to go with it. I'll link the rest of his story down here after they're posted! (if it doesn't work, he has his own tag)

excluding freak week entries (i love them all like they are my children), i think full moon, white honey. i love her so much & i miss her. can't wait for shardminds bday fic 2025!!!

5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?

probably jawbreaker! not experimental in terms of style but defo in terms of content. it held a lot of first for me! first collab between my dearly beloved & i, first organised event (even if it was just us holding hands, playing dead), first fic over 20k— i had so much fun with it as a whole! i loved rhys being a fucked up little freak, i loved diving into feyre's headspace, i loved exploring the whole fic in a safe little space and all the important conversations we had along the way. I hope marissa can say the same!

6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?

listen through the wall. it was my first jump into acotar fic before i found my footing and it wasn't even intended FOR a pairing as such (well... unrequited elriel, really) but i loved azriel being down abysmal and acting it out on a nameless stranger, and so did everyone else, apparently. it has the most hits out of all my fics from 2024.

7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)

corpse until sunrise. i shan't elaborate... ok, i will. i love that fic so much. i loved writing it, i love how much it fought us, i love how disgusting and depraved it is and how the loml and i spent the whole time writing it kicking our feet, giggling, in love with gwyn. i love how thin the line was for that one. i love azriel and i will torture him in everything i write. hope that's okay.

8. Who is an artist that inspired you?

@velidewrites, no question (velide, i love you so much! u insipre me every day!)

9. Who is an author that inspired you?

i cannot remember all of them off the top of my head but i read some banging fics this year / recieved some incredible advice from @damedechance, @separatist-apologist, @iftheshoef1tz @crazy-ache, @tunaababee and many MANY more. i wish i could list them all. i wish i'd kept a list!

10. Who is a new author you discovered?

please see above. i only started reading acotar fic this year after re-reading all of sjm's works in advance of hofas release. most impactful discovery was obvi my heart and soul, damedechance. did you know my first fic of hers was spare your blade? did you know she unprivated things mid-rewrite so that i could read it? did you know my first message to her on discord was GWYNRHYS RISE UP!!!!!!? is everyone sick of us yet?

11. Did you do any collaborations? How did it start?

DID I!? freak week took over our lives for like three months. and it will continue to take over our lives into 2025. (hell, we WILL finish your ass!) but writing with marissa was a dream. she gets me, i get her, it truly is a freak on freak alliance. i love her, truly. it was so FUN to write with her, and it continues to be! she's added so much colour to my life in the almost year of our friendship slash marriage slash codependency slash experiments in telepathy.

it was also a great excuse to send her a 2k bag of jawbreakers in the mail.

12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?

freak week, for sure. we wrote about 50k in a little less than a month!

13. What did you learn about writing or creating this year?

i learned to be a freak with it! to be a little strange and off putting! to write what i want to read and be okay with that!

i also learned that it's ok to propose in ao3 comments after reading 2 fics by an author, and also be a scoundrel in the tumblr tags. sometimes, it gets you a wife.

14. Any advice you’d like to share with new or aspiring writers?

people will read what you write or they wont, but the most important question is did YOU enjoy writing it? does it bring YOU joy? i hope so!

share your favorite memory of this year.

I can't really tell you anything but multiple flashes that I hold close to my heart-- my mother sitting up in bed laughing over something I said about my brother, my whole family dancing at my brother's wedding hand-in-hand, one of my friends saying wistfully it was so good to hear me & my teammate's voices on the phone, me driving home the first evening it felt like fall and watching the leaves swirl around the street, me seeing a tiger (!!!) in the spring. A beautiful year, if a hard one!

2. what was the highlight of your year?

Most likely my brother's wedding! It tinged the year in such a golden light.

3. list the top five books you read this year.

In no particular order (except for the Q love u Q), The Q, The Carrying, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating, and the entire Frieren series tbh.

4. list the top five movies you watched this year.

Past Lives (movie of my HEART), Twisters, Miss Potter (my first rewatch since childhood and 😭😭), The Fall Guy, and tbh Return to Me (I think of it often!)

5. list the top five tv series you binged this year.

Hmmmm....this is always difficult! I would say, Abbott Elementary (my beloved), Psych (extra points for watching with my brother), Summer Strike (peaceful show of my heart), ??????, I rewatched Makanai which I love dearly but I swear I cannot remember off the top of my head anything else I watched, liked, and finished.

6. what is the one new thing you discovered this year (could be a place/hobby/song etc)?

I started learning SQL and that somehow to me was such a joy! And after reading The Hurting Kind book Ada Limón finally got into my heart for realsies this time and I think that's magical.

7. top three albums that you played this year?

I think I'm going to do a ranking on all their own, but peeeeersonally I think the albums that most were There for me were Charm by Clairo, Vertigo by Griff, Positive Spin by Gretta Ray. (Honorable mention to TTPD that has been with me through it all, it just feels too vast for me to really put a pin in it for just this year, you know?)

These Walls – Dua Lipa, which I don't fully know what to say about it except that the shiny sparkly sound somehow makes me feel so bright and emotional at the same time.

It's not even from this year! But You've Already Won by Gretta Ray song of all time to ME. It can simply hold a whole life in its hand and I love that so. Also a little shoutout to Down Bad which can still make me cry 8 months 10,000 listens later.

11. what is an achievement that you are proud of this year?

not necessarily any singular achievements. I'm proud of how much time I've spent with my mom, I think. I'm proud of how much I've grown in regards of my work. It's been a year of quiet (if grueling) growth and I'm proud of that.

12. what are your goals for the next year?

My goals? I think mostly that I'm setting some writing goals (daily journaling, quarterly chapbooks, 20k of a book draft) and I want to pick up boxing again as I've let it lapse this month.

13. any three book releases you are excited for next year.

I'm soooo out of the loop here, alas. There's new Maggie Stiefvater that I will read, there's new Emily Henry I will probably read.

14. any three upcoming movies/tv series that you are excited for next year.

tentatively excited for new Superman, tentatively excited for second half of Wicked, always excited for more Abbott Elementary.

15. if you could change one thing about the past year what would it be?

very little! I had to go through it to come out of the other side of it. (And when it shines out it'll shine all the clearer or something of the sort.)

16. did you manage to stick to your new year’s resolutions this year?

Not even a little! I was going to use this year to try to draw something every day, which I failed horribly at, but I think that's only to be expected. Still, I want to use my resolutions to create more little spaces of FUN in my life again. I've missed them horribly.

17. do you have any new year’s resolutions for the next year?

My only real, true type of resolution is simply to have FUN. While I've still had lots of big, beautiful joys this year, I've not delighted as I ought to, and I want to bring that part of myself back. Learn some new dances, learn to make sourdough, things along that line. Just get back into the motions of living and find myself swept up by the verve of it all. That's my one bit of resolve.

I could not tell you the name of a meme right now if you told me my life depended upon it. I love the bit we have of using substitutes because we don't do suicidal ideation anymore here babes. I love the resurgence of the children's hospital red meme.

19. which month was the most fun this year?

The most fun?! I mean, probably...October? It's hard to tell because there were challenges in so many! But I laughed the most in October so it must be then.

20. if you could tell yourself something at the beginning of this year based on what you know right now, what would it be?

I mean...I think more than anything I'd just want to reassure myself of the past that it's really, really okay, and you have more strength and power within you than you might think. Also, even though it sucks and it's uphill work, if you want this to be a place full of love you have to be the one to put it there, you can't just luck your way into it, you yourself have to put your heart on the line and become love itself to the people you're given to care for. And that's something wonderful to take part in!

21. favorite viral trend of the year?

I looooove the international Mikus with ALL my heart. They're what make life worth living 💛💛

22. list any three new things you learned this year (could be recipes, a new skill, etc.)

This is the hardest thing for me to recall. I learned how to make arrozcaldo at last? And I started learning SQL as I said. I started properly, FINALLY learning the different forms of poetry at the beginning of the year (I know, I know, I'm shamefully self-taught) but a lot of it has fallen out of my brain. I need to set it more in my bones, I think.

23. how would you describe your year in a word?

Enduring, is a good one I think. It's been quite a year for gritting my teeth and bearing it, alas. But it's also been a year of fruitful, beautiful friendship and fellowship, a year of becoming greater company to myself and to others. Luminous would be another fitting word, actually! There's been a lot of beauty and grace granted to me, and I am very, very grateful. There's something bittersweet in leaving behind any year, and this year just as much as any! I'll never live it again. But I can live a new one, and that's just as magical in its own right. I hope I'm brave enough to meet it!

I made. So many guys this year. mostly little ones for uni assignments but also I made at least three that are near and dear to my heart so I'd like to introduce you to a girl who doesn't really have a name (because her story was written in first person and had no dialogue), but I toyed around with calling her Julia.

She's a 12-13 year old girl who loves frogs and was very excited about theme parks in theory, but became VERY disappointed when she actually had to deal with loud people and long lines and the midday sun while waiting for the flume ride (and with how slow most of the actual ride ended up being). She is not scared of the dark but has a projector night light that makes a bunch of pond fish and frogs swim around her room. She would rather wear rain boots than any other footware in any situation (socks bad unless they have some wiggle room) and has a big chew necklace she doesn't love fashion-wise, but can't argue with the practicality of having it Right There when there's. The Horrors (aforementioned people and sweat and lines and being forced to wear sneakers).

I was obsessed with her for like two weeks and I still love her dearly<3

Forrest isn't nearly as traumatized as Eden, but I mean he's lived for almost 24 years now so he has still had bad things happen to him :( He lost his father when he was 3, once he broke his arm after jumping off a moving swing when he was 11, and he was bullied in school quite a bit too because he grew up in a rough part of indiana, as an autistic trans kid. But he's cool now, since he has his mom - who is an angel fr, he's got lots of friends & coworkers (& Eden) who love him dearly, and he hasn't jumped off of any swings in almost 13 years lmao Not to mention has a boyfriend who indulges him in his kinks >:] So he's living a pretty great life, all things considered. As for some more lore,, Forrest is diabetic and has since he's a little squeamish when it comes to sticking himself, he'll always have Eden help him with his insulin pump (& his T shots lol)

what's your favourite sims death?

ngl i dont actually have one, im terrified of any of my babies dying so they never do...but i guess old age maybe? because that means theyve lived a long life and ive played with them for a long time?

alpha cc or mm?

alpha HANDS DOWN...i dont hate mm by any means dont get me wrong, but ill always be an alpha girl at heart. its the alpha hairs, they always get me.

do you cheat your sims weight?

only if it fits their character i guess? not usually in gameplay.

do you move objects

i move objects every single day.

fave mod?

ooofff i mean out of necessity? nraas. but just the one i love? hands down pose player. mostly because i was so excited when i finally got it to work (i was like 13 or something and before then i could not figure out how to get mods to work) so a lot of happy memories from finally getting my sims to pose.

first expansion/game pack/stuff pack?

my first ever was sims 2 glamour life stuff pack when i was a kid. if we're talking sims 3, i believe the first pack i got was generations, which is still my favourite sims pack ever.

i pronounce it LIVE, always have as far as i know.

well, its gotta be elodie honestly. she and eli are the longest sims i have ever had and i love them both dearly. in the sims 4, its gotta be my girl pippa. before tumblr? i had this family called the moretti's, i miss them and i think about them way too often. i loved them all.

oh yeah. loads of times. i think ive shared my sims 3 and sims 4 variations on tumblr (but they look really weird tbh). i love making myself, cause then i can wear all these clothes i cant afford in real life.

im mostly joking, but usually sims 3 hairs are a no go for me, except for some store ones and the hairs that are pulled back into buns always look really nice. for sims 4, only the newer ones. the older ones are not for me.

nope! well, actually one of my middle names is my grandpa's name, so i'm named for my grandpa!

2. when was the last time you cried?

last night, because cam bought me a necklace at target that hit me in a very emotionally vulnerable spot. i cry just about every single day though (i am a weeper from a long line of weepers and all that)

3. do you have kids?

i do not, but cam and i desperately want them. we are currently planning for one about 5 yrs 🫣 which is frightening but also very exciting. we're crazy too, like we already have a lot of baby clothes and cam's mom is handing down her cloth diapers and stuff. all very exciting!

4. do you use sarcasm a lot?

i don't, but i am someone who struggles to understand sarcasm haha so i also struggle to use it properly.

5. what sports do you play/have you played?

i have never played sports lol. i wanted to play hockey very badly as a child (and still now), but it's expensive so i couldn't. i was told i should do track & field (specifically shotput) but i didn't want to. now i have a mild interest in dogsports, haha. i like LGRA, dock diving, rally o, and treibball.

i agree with emmy about vibes, i feel like the first thing i notice is whether someone like. SEEMS nice or not.

in grade school it was english and history, but in college, i loveee any of my classes that are actually about my major, fish & wildlife. i loved my lab last fall semester, and i'm really excited for horticulture lab this fall.

Hello! Hope all is well. I will admit that did not initially notice the symbolism between Karin/Sasuke & Naruto/Sakura and after going through your explanations it makes too much sense which is why it is disappointing in the “creative shift” didn’t follow through. Karin and Sakura really are a yin & yang to each other which why I’m kind of more excited to see their story in this than Naruto & Sasuke (I know it will be great too). I went through your older post about the U twins and their twist and I have a guess on what that will be lol. Can’t wait for chapter 13 and chapter art too I can never predict it so that excites me!

As for Karin & Sakura being a foil to each other, well, it's simply Kishimoto's story mechanics: yin & yang mirroring.

Kishimoto often said that whenever he thinks about Naruto, in the back of his mind he also thinks about Sasuke. They were always tied, always connected to one another, mirroring each other's paths.

That alone gave us an insight into how Kishi's creative mind works, and thus, this is how you can tell that the things they had him say like "it was all a red herring" and all that stuff, is BS, because you can clearly see the inconsistency with his creative self.

If you look at many of the plots of Naruto that are happening, they're all a mirror of each other, just different elements that give them their uniqueness, despite the creative process being the same. :)

And I have to admit, unconsciously, that's how I built Sakura's and Karin's stories too in Kaika. And I say unconsciously, because at some point I did realize I was doing that because at the end of the day, what i'm doing is nothing more than mimicking the original authors' style, which is something that I intended in the beginning because I wanted to give it that feeling of familiarity that people had.

And from the reactions I'm getting on the manga chapters, apparently I'm managing so that makes me happy, honestly. :)

Because despite this being a fan project and me being disappointed in Kishimoto's choice of ending and being mad at him in the past, with the passing of the years I came to terms with everything, and now all I wanna do is give my own homage to the story I love so dearly, in my own way, alchemizing all that pain and betrayal I felt once into something peaceful and beautiful, and offer it to those people who were in the same predicament I once was, too.

Basically, Kaika is my way of making peace with all that Naruto's story meant for me, but done it in the way I do best - in a creating manner, since, after I'll be done with Kaika, I'll wanna fully focus on my own original story, too!

Those 7 books won't be writing themselves, lol.

Anyway, to get back to the second part of the question because I got carried away a little bit there, well, the twist with them i know it's not hard to guess. I'm being elusive for the funsies of it.

What I DO HOPE it will be interesting & intriguing is the way I'll go about it, the way I'll write them into the whole plot, especially in the context of a generation that had nothing to do with the Infinite Tsukuyomi & the aftermaths of that. I have a little twist that I'm proud of, to be honest, because I know everybody expects that twist related to the twins themselves.

But, like someone who tries to stay true to the original story's feeling, ya know as they say, it's about the underneath under the underneath, hehehe.

As for the arts, to be honest, I never try to be unpredictable. I just go with the flow & try my best to have it represent the things that I'm gonna touch in that respective chapter.

cassidy would take advice from his friends, but it would probably take him some time to actually do something with it. because he has very set ways of Doing and Saying Things he has to like. fit the advice in all his rules and scripts. and that takes a while LMAO but he doesn't like to be wrong or Decent at a thing when he could be Better so even if he doesn't like receiving the advice he WOULD make an effort to do something with it. he's very focused on being Perfect so anything that could help him achieve that is most welcome

he wouldn't take advice from people he can't trust. once you've shown him you're untrustworthy then he won't put any value to your advice anymore and takes it with a grain of salt <3 even if it's actually Good Advice but he just doesn't wanna hear it anymore

cassidy's parents died when he was eight years old so he didn't get a lot of time with them :/ one thing they taught him that he STILL hasn't let go of nowadays is that Cursing is Bad and you shouldn't do it. he doesn't really mind if others do it (unless they do it on purpose to annoy him or if it is a LOT or very intense cursing in which case he gets very overwhelmed and shuts down a bit) but he cannot do it himself. he says frick. and crap. and heck. if he DOES accidentally drop a "fuck" in there he sincerely apologizes to whoever is present in the room with him. i love him so dearly you don't understand

20) what do they like that nobody else does?

it's not really things that Nobody Else likes but. algorithms. fonts. he LOVES fonts he can mimic fonts with his handwriting. airplanes (he can tell what kind of airplane is passing over by the sound of the engine alone). natural disasters. he doesn't like it when they happen but he is just Fascinated by them. sticky notes. disassembling and reassembling his guns. rain. he's just fascinated by it all and can talk for hours about it if he trusts you enough and you let him

29) what recurring dreams do they have?

cassidy has many nightmares :( they're mostly about his parents and siblings dying. about the building he's in collapsing. about his adoptive father dying. the memories of all those events are still in his head and he can't get rid of them and the nightmares are so Vivid and it scares him so much :(

and he also regularly dreams about being stuck in a burning building even though that hasn't happened (yet) but yeah he's not having a good time

30) what would they do if they knew it would be forgiven?

OOF well once again. cassidy loves his rules. and if he can just do Whatever suddenly without consequences. his brain is probably gonna short circuit LMFAO i don't think he would be able to do anything at all honestly. he would feel very bad about it :( maybe he would scream the word MOTHERFUCKER very loudly once and then move on. that's about as interesting as it gets with him i think SGHFDJGHD
