Abigale Rewritten Epilogue

After the failed conference,Abigale had nowhere to go. Her hometown was already destroyed by Bill and she couldn't stay in the Anti Cipher Society bunker either as she would surely starve there once she ran out of rations. Staying out in the open wasn't an option,as she would get arrested for being a genocidal terrorist after all of the crimes that Bill made her commit while he possessed her body. But she still had her Adriel persona and she still had her father's old clothes which she used to travel to Thurburt's address despite being a wanted criminal,so she decided to use her male alter ego and lay low for a while.

Until she met Percival Northwest at a pub one day. She was eventually able to trust him enough to reveal her true identity as a woman,which made Percival even more thrilled as he always wanted a wife and or female companion that was not only a pretty face but had a brilliant mind as well. Abigale became great friends with Percival and she enjoyed hearing him talk about medieval history together as he revealed that he was actually an academic historian until he later told her that he was in love with her and that he wanted to marry her so he could take her to his massive mansion. Abigale didn't have any other prospects besides drinking her sorrows away,so she agreed.

She moved out far west and married into Percival's impressive fortune while moving into his massive mansion. Percival was a nice man who treated her well and he often showered her in lavish gifts. He even let her continue her engineering pursuits as he valued a woman who has a brilliant mind like him despite what the other noblemen thought of her. Although he only let her tinker in private as he didn't want his dear Abigale to be treated with hostility by other rich folk. Abigale felt happy again even after she lost her hometown and lost contact with her friends after the conference,Percival gave life to her again despite losing everything and she was thankful for that.

Although as wonderful as Percival was,he wasn't what he seemed. He had secrets that he didn't want to disclose to even his most trusted confidant and wife. But Abigale wasn't a fool,she saw the signs of her husband acting strange and not seeming like himself. He started to disappear more for "quick outings",he stopped coming home from his historian work at night and he instead came back in the mornings with suspicious red liquid that seemed to be blood on his face. When Abigale confronted him about it,Percival told her that he was attending private meetings with fellow historians but she knew that wasn't the case although she let it slide rather than prying further. Then one night when Abigale decided to follow Percival during his mysterious outings which lead to a secret library passage behind the manor,where she finally discovered what her husband was up to and it was horrifying.

Tapestries of Bill covered the walls,triangular statues were at every corner of the room,and at the center was a blood sacrifice of a poor innocent virgin woman whose neck was being slit with a dagger by none other than Percival himself. Abigale was terrified of the revelation that her husband was actively worshipping the very creature that destroyed her life behind her back and she tried to flee in hopes that she would be able to escape the demon once more but Percival saw her after he heard footsteps coming from behind him. Percival desperately tried to explain himself and convince her that his muse was a well-intentioned fellow but Abigale had already decided that her husband wasn't to be trusted as any associate of William Lucipher was an enemy of hers.

Percival then accepted his fate that his wife wouldn't trust him anymore as he then let her leave. Only for him to pin her to the wall and put the dagger against her neck as he figured that if he couldn't convert her into believing his dear muse then he can we use her as another sacrifice to appease the Great All-Knowing All-Seeing eye. Abigale didn't know what to do as she didn't have any of her mechanisms on hand nor did she have a gun she could use to channel the countless marksmanship lessons that her dear friend Jessamine gave her,so she accepted her fate that she would die in that very moment. But then she felt that Percival stopped etching her neck with the dagger and she saw his eyes glow yellow while she hears a familiar high pitched shrill voice come from her husband. Abigale exactly knew the one who possessed her husband and she grabbed the dagger from the man's hands as she prepared herself to deal with the demon once more.

Bill then grinned a disgustingly wide smirk at her as he watched the sheer hatred in her eyes as he then walks towards her. "AHAHAHA! AHAHAHAHA!. Oh it's been a while since i've seen you,Goggles. Heh,why such an angry look?. Aren't you glad that i saved you from ol' Northwest over here?." Bill says as he saw the inventress glare at him with such malice.

"Oh please. I wouldn't think that you'd save me out of the goodness of your heart if you even have one,Cipher. You must need me for another one of your mechanisms again." Abigale remarks as she pointed the dagger at Bill as he began smiling even wider from her comment.

"I see that you still kept your brilliant mind,even when i reduced your dumb fleshbag life into nothing. Anyway,i do need you for something. I'll give you one last chance to help me with the transdimensional gateway,or else i'll leave you to die from 'Percy's' hands." Bill remarks as he maintained his strange grin while the woman keeps glaring at him,trying to bargain with the inventress again as he wanted to play with his pawn for a little bit before moving onto another genius.

"So i'll help you again or else i'll die by my traitorous husband's hands. A tempting offer,but how do i know that this isn't another trick?." Abigale replied as she kept pointing the dagger at the triangle,being set on destroying the triangle but she was willing to hear him out.

"Come on,Goggles. Why would i lie to you again?. I'm already out of options. I've already used up the other members of that cute Anti Cipher Society you had,the fact that they STILL didn't want to join me even when i've reduced them to desperate husks is laughable really. Why would i lie to you,when i have no other plans?." Bill explains as he was half bluffing,as he DID have no options left but he could just wait for another few thousand years for the next impressionable dummy to manipulate into doing his bidding but he wanted to keep playing his own game for a while before moving onto the next pawn. Abigale then dropped the dagger as she figured that the triangle was actually telling the truth for once,strangely enough,although she was still suspicious and she knew that she herself had other options unlike the demon before her. "True.. However i'm already happy with my husband,and even if he turned out to be a traitor i could still keep his wealth if i kill him with this dagger while you're still inside of him. You don't have anything i want anymore. I reject your offer to make another deal,Cipher." Abigale says as she grabs the dagger once more and points it at Bill,with the triangle sighing in disappointment as the woman doesn't want to keep playing his game. "Fine. Well i'm out of here,have fun dealing with this insane freak." Bill replied as he then escaped the man's body,leaving Abigale to deal with Percival's crazed state. "Hey wait!- I still have to destroy you!-. Ah, bollocks!." Abigale exclaims as she saw the triangle leave the nobleman's body who then tried to tackle her only for her to stab him in the chest as he fell on the ground in agony. She then stabbed him a few more times in order for him to stay down,stabbing him for a total of 12 times as she then burnt the body with a match while burying the ashes twenty feet underground so that no one will ever find them.

Then she burnt all of the Bill worshipping decor and hid the others in the deeper part of the attic after finding out that not just Percival but the entirety of the Northwest family have been following Bill for centuries which was how they gained such power and wealth due to finding an ancient book with entries from the Northwests dating back to the 1300s while looking for other triangular artifacts in the library. The ancient book was also how she found out about the room full of evidence regarding the Northwests' misdeeds (the same room in Northwest Mansion Mystery),discovering that all of the Northwests were cruel and opportunistic bastards although she chose to ignore the evidence and leave it alone as exposing the Northwests' true nature would ruin her already stained reputation even more not to mention she'd lose the only things she had left which was the manor and Percival's wealth.

Instead of ruining the Northwests' reputation along with her own by revealing the evidence to the public,Abigale decided to falsify a will that Percival supposedly made for her to inherit all of his assets including his wealth and his enormous mansion. She continued her mechanical endeavors and showcased her works as her Adriel persona so that she could regain the success that the male perpetrator and the demon robbed her of,which she succeeded in as everyone finally praised her brilliance once more like all those years ago when she was a young lady. She adopted a young nameless peasant boy called "Shiner" so she could teach him the ways of technology and thus continue her legacy,she found him polishing shoes on the street one day and later discovered him tinkering with a small robot helper he made which was what made her realize that the boy was the perfect successor despite what the other nobles said about a "filthy peasant" not being fit for the luxurious noble life.

Abigale redefined what being a Northwest meant by teaching her son Mortimer Jr. (she renamed Shiner) that he could be anything he wanted to be and that he didn't have to value success over everything but value his happiness instead,she taught him that money can't fix all your problems (which was hilarious coming from her) but hard work and perseverance can. She also taught him that he shouldn't be selfish or manipulate others just so he could get what he wanted,as only hard work could achieve that. Thus Abigale made a new era for the Northwests by preventing her son from becoming one of those opportunistic Bill worshipping bastards,although her efforts to change the Northwests' nature would be forgotten in the coming years once Mortimer Jr.'s grandson comes along (that man is the precursor to Nathaniel Northwest) plus the Bill cult was unearthed at the same time.

She was finally and truly at peace with her life after knowing that there's no more Bill or crazy triangle worshipping husband to ruin it anymore,she happily lived in the Northwest manor tinkering with her machines that she showcased to the nobles by having her cousin Adriel present them on her behalf while watching her son grow to be a great and kind man who became an inventor as well as architect that taught classes in engineering when he grew up.

No one found out about Percival's sudden disappearance actually being a murder nor the fact that Abigale was a genocidal terrorist,and she was perfectly fine with that.

However the inventress hadn't come into contact with her fellow Anti Cipherites in a while except for that one time her dear friend O'Pimm visited her to explain his supposed death,and the few times that Thurburt sent her letters detailing how happy he was with his dear priest. Abigale kept being a brilliant tinkerer until the end of her days,when her only son and a few associates from nobility came to her funeral while knowing her as an honorable woman a loving mother and a great inventor.

sketch! this idea came to me right away, no other drafts. loved the idea of loki creating yggdrasil and how he used it to make a world (worlds? timelines??) for his friends to live in... even tho mobius is too heartbroken to know what to do with it😭

and finally, color thumbnail! ngl im not too happy with this piece lol... i think the composition is pretty cool but it didn't really hit the emotions i was going for 🥹🥹 colors are also kinda wonk. maybe ill go round 2 for loki fanart... i really loved this show!

anyway.

WAITT im in a ranting mood ok. im actually rlly Happy NOT HAPPY uhmmm satisfied but NOT SATISFIED EITHER ughh. im. glad the choice was for mephone 4 to leave. i like that its left open, for the same reason i like why marshmallow leaving in ep 11 was written so definitively. she wanted to get away from the show. and so she Did, completely. she wasnt even in the Comics after that!! she got what she wanted, kind of, sort of. and i feel the same way abt mephone too. he NEEDED to step back from it all, for himself and the people around him, imo. i mean, like he says, he only Made the show to get one up on cobs, and now cobs is gone and mephone needs to figure out who he is Without cobs' influence anymore. i think this is ultimately good for him, the best that couldve happened. and im not upset the contestants aren't sad enough, or whatever. becuz mephones story is Explicitly one abt parental abuse, and like it or not he kind of did the same thing to the contestants that cobs did to him, just in ykno. kind of different ways. they have complicated feelings towards each other and im not surprised most of them didnt react. i doubt most of them knew What to do at all given the situation! i think it was a rlly good choice, narratively speaking. i think it represents the kind of mixed emotions that parental abuse can cause, esp when its in mephones case where it was rlly just a super unfortunate circumstance. ik mephone isnt rlly their parental figure and the crew has stated that he isnt their dad, which i agree with! i like how complex their relationships all are. they feel more real that way? i guess? idk.

sorry this is all becuz i saw a post that read how someone was sad mephone left his support system. but like. the contestants dont rlly Want to be that for him, and not even rlly for each other all the way either, and they dont Have to be. a lot of the cast arent friends and i like that perspective! yeah it sucks that mephone left them, but they all have rlly mixed emotions abt each other, i feel. mephone was in a position of authority that he would occasionally abuse, just out of inexperience and naivete. so the feeling left over is complicated. MUCH LIKE [insert anecdote from my childhood. waves hands nonchalantly to avoid revealing too much abt my personal life].

it resonated with me. i can see a lot of my own relationships reflected in mephone's with the contestants. so YEAH i think the ending was rlly good ^_^ it reminded me a lot of the sturggles i have both as someone with. Not Ideal but also Not Terrible parents. like cobs was inarguably awful, and i think partly mephone thought he couldnt be as bad becuz he wasnt Like That, but it made him underestimate his actions and he ended up overlooking a lot of stuff and hurting his contestants in more emotional ways. Not That I Would Know Anything About That Ha Ha. and now he feels bad. but he doesnt know how to fix it, because you Cant fix it, not without significant personal growth that he seems to recognize Isnt going to happen if he sticks around. so he leaves. for himself, but i think for the contestants also. he doesnt know how to apologize, and i think he feels really guilty too. and the contestants cant say anything becuz Its True and Hes Right, and hoenstly a few of them are probably Happy to see him go too, so they let him leave. idk. its just weird living in that middle space where someone who deeply loves you is also someone whos caused a Lot of your problems. I think part of mephones problem too is that he views them as characters on his show. not like entirely, they're People to him of course, not like how cobs treats his creations. but they also serve a purpose to mephone, to be his friends and entertain him. i do think he genuinely cares about them but i think he also probably has kind of an objectification of them in his mind? uhm. Not That I Would Kno- [gets shot]

tl;dr like. mephone didnt mean to hurt the contestants, but he did because of tragic events beyond his control. but that cant excuse his actions and its a hard situation to fix. tbh there isnt rlly a solution. so him leaving felt profound and understandable. there COULD be a reconciliation, another spin-off series to elaborate and write in a redemption arc. but for now there Isnt. and i dont think there rlly Has to be? i like the bittersweetness. idk. anyway rant over Probably Maybe Idk
