Music keeps me alive. M.S. Chapter II
summery: y/n's father passed away, and she moved to Boston to finish school. She always keeps her headphones on, only she knows the reason why. What happens when she meets Matt?
Chapter I
As she arrived home, her mind couldn't stop thinking about how lucky she was to have met such kind people as Nick and Anna. She had only spoken to them for a short time, yes, but the fact that they had taken the initiative to approach her when she was alone and had continued the conversation until there was no more time was an act that would undoubtedly remain etched in her memory.
Her mother wasn't home yet, as her new job started at the same time y/n got out of school. Because of that, y/n walked to the kitchen, grabbed a piece of fruit, and returned to the living room. Without hesitation, she grabbed the TV remote, searched for Spotify, and played her favorite playlist. It was moments like these that she loved to enjoy some jazz while doing homework, reading a book, or simply enjoying some alone time to think.
The windows were shut, all the lights in the house were off, the only light visible was that coming from the fireplace in front of the armchair. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the vibrations of the music filling her ears. Everything was perfect... well, almost everything. Y/n had always loved being alone, since she never had anyone to show her the beauty of the moment, or anyone to share it with. Why has this changed now? Should it change? It wasn't necessary, she'd always enjoyed being like this. Y/n thought as the hours ticked by.
After a long time of pondering, Y/n realized it was quite late, so she decided to skip dinner and go straight to sleep. She went to her bed, after putting on her pajamas, and closed her eyes to drift off into a long, deep sleep.
The next morning, Y/n got up as usual, got dressed, ate breakfast, packed her backpack, and got ready for school. "You look very happy, honey. It's so nice that you're enjoying going back to school," her mother said. " Thanks, Mom, Nick and Anna seem like really good people and I'm so glad I met them," Y/n smiled. Her mother returned the smile and hugged her tightly. They said goodbye and Y/n started her journey to school.
On the way, thinking to herself and listening to music, she realized her mother was right. She felt happier herself the day she came back from her first day of school. But this had just started, and it was too early to say that she already liked going as much as when she was little, but you never know.
While swapping a few things in her locker and backpack, Y/n felt someone tap her shoulder. She turned around and quickly noticed Nick and Anna standing beside her, and a little further back were Matt and Chris. Y/n took out her headphones and let them hang around her neck. "Good morning, ready for your second day?" Nick asked with his usual kind and welcoming smile. Y/n simply nodded, closed her locker, and started a conversation with the four kids beside her, about some rather irrelevant topic.
Whenever Y/n spoke, she felt everyone's eyes on her, but Matt's were the most noticeable. He looked at her as if he were really listening, paying attention to every detail, every movement. And she also noticed that her cheeks were getting redder and redder, but luckily it seemed like no one had noticed, least of all Matt.
The five of them entered the classroom and sat in their respective seats, except Y/n who switched places with another boy to be closer to her new friends. The class went by normally for everyone, except Matt. Just like yesterday, he was distracted by the figure with straight hair and headphones in front of him, because the seat she had found was right in front of him. Luckily, no one noticed, or so he thought. "Matt, you're going to look obsessed with Y/n if you keep staring at her like that," Chris whispered in his ear. Matt just looked at him with a serious look, as if telling him to shut up. Chris chuckled lightly and went back to paying attention to the class.
“And you will have to form groups of five members to present the first big project of the year," Professor Thomas dictated. And suddenly, Y/n felt four heads turn to look at her, who was thinking about what she was going to do because she didn't know if they were really going to invite her. She was about to stand up to ask the professor if she could do it alone when she heard a deep but soft voice call her name. "Yes?" she asked. "Do you want to... maybe do the project with us?" Matt asked, clearly nervous, but she was too. It was the first time she had heard his voice, and damn, she was going to remember that voice, it was unmatched, its tone of kindness and gentleness, its softness and feelings, all in a simple voice.
She quickly accepted and sat back down at her desk, this time turning around to face her classmates. "If you want, you can come to our house today, my mom will be there and she can make us some snacks," Nick suggested. Anna and Y/n quickly agreed. Y/n's eyes quickly met Matt's and for a second she could swear she couldn't breathe. Her cheeks were burning, and the air was stuck in her throat. It was such an intimate moment, between the two of them, and public at the same time, since everyone could see. Her heart started beating faster, but all she did was smile. Matt quickly returned the smile, and they stayed that way for a few seconds that felt like years, studying each other, without caring about anyone else, just the two of them.
Their little moment was interrupted by Nick and Chris's shouts as they fought over who knew what Mom was going to cook when they arrived. "You don't even know if she's going to cook," Matt said, interrupting their fight. "Don't get involved, Matt," Chris said and went back to arguing with Nick, causing Matt and Y/n to laugh.
Later that day, Y/n sent a message to her mom saying she was going to hang out at Nick's house. It was the first time she was going to someone's house who wasn't family or a friend of her parents. And she was very nervous, it was a little noticeable. The five of them walked to the brothers' house and when they entered, they left their backpacks, Chris and Nick went straight to the kitchen to see what Mom had cooked, while Anna went to the bathroom, leaving Y/n and Matt alone for the first time. "Why are you nervous?" Matt asked, he didn't know Y/n, so he didn't know why she was nervous. "It's the first time I've been to a friend's house," Y/n confessed. As I said before, she never had friends, so this moment was very special to her. "Were your parents that strict?" Matt asked, trying not to sound too surprised, because he was, and Y/n was 17 years old and had never been to any friend's house before, which seemed strange to him. "No, they always let me go wherever I wanted, I just... never had... friends." Y/n said, so low it was almost like a whisper. She had never said it out loud, that's why she was 'ashamed'. Being 17 and having 0 friends was something she felt very ashamed of, not because she thought she was a bad person, she just wasn't very outgoing, or it was really because the place where she grew up didn't let her make friends because of how toxic it was. "I- Uh, I'm sorry, I didn't know," Matt started to say nervously, his words overlapped and his ideas crossed. "Don't worry, I'm so grateful to have met you." Y/n smiled at him and the knot of ideas in Matt's head was undone just by seeing her smile. He returned it and once again they stayed like that for a few seconds, the outside world didn't matter anymore than the two of them. Matt looked at Y/n's lips and then back at her eyes, he wanted to kiss her, and it showed, but he couldn't, they had just met. Y/n noticed and did the same, this time she looked at his lips a little longer than he did. The tension in the air could be felt, and they both felt this push towards each other. "Matt, Y/n!! Come to the living room!!" They both heard Chris shout.
Once there, they started taking out their folders and Nick brought his computer. "Okay, so we have to do a presentation on some monument and recreate it," Nick said. "Uh, I have an idea, what if we do the Statue of Liberty?" Chris suggested, "But so many people are going to do it for sure," Anna said. "Yeah, Anna's right, what about Christ the Redeemer in Brazil?" Nick said, "I don't know, I think we should do something with more history behind it, what do you think?" Matt asked. Everyone nodded and thought. "What if we do the monument at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park? I think the story is very interesting, I was reading a book about a survivor and it's very moving..." Y/n said but stopped when she saw that everyone was looking at her with a smile on their faces. "Um, is everything okay?" she asked nervously. "If you want, we can do something else..." She couldn't stop talking from nervousness, plus no one was saying anything and everyone looking at her made her even more nervous. "It's a great idea!" Nick said happily. And so, they all started thinking about how they were going to do it, what they were going to say, among other things.
After a long time working, they decided to relax a bit and play board games, as well as chat and chat for hours. They laughed a lot and shared a lot of stories, everyone listening to the other when they spoke. Y/n felt very happy, too much, and comfortable, being there, despite not knowing anyone well enough, she felt like she had known them for years.
At one point, Y/n looked at her watch to realize that it had gotten quite late, and walking alone in a new neighborhood at night... let's just say it wasn't a good idea. Matt noticed her worried face and asked, "Everything okay?" Y/n's gaze traveled from the clock to Matt's eyes, "Yes, it's just a bit late and I don't know if I can walk alone at this time..." "I can take you" Matt said, this took her by surprise, 'being alone with Matt always became... weird' she thought. But she also wanted to spend more time alone with him because she found him an interesting person. "No, it's okay, really" "Guys, I'm going to take Y/n home and I'll be right back" Matt announced. Y/n said goodbye to everyone and headed to the door where Matt was waiting for her. They went outside and got into the car, Matt opened the door for her and quickly ran to his. "Thank you, really, you didn't have to" Y/n said, a little embarrassed. "Don't worry, it's nothing to me. Besides, I want to have some alone time with you to get to know you better," Matt said, looking into Y/n's eyes and they stayed looking at each other again. "Uh, I think we should go" Matt said, interrupting the comfortable silence that invaded the car.
Y/n turned on the radio, as she hadn't listened to so much music all day and already felt like something was missing. "And now we'll be playing 'There's a light that never goes out' by The Smiths" the radio voice announced. "Uh, that's a good song" Y/n said and started turning up the volume. "Do you like The Smiths?" Matt asked, looking at her. "I love them" Y/n replied. The song started and they both began to sing along to it. "And if a double-decker bus crashes into us, to die by your side, is such a heavenly way to die" They both laughed and sang along with the song.
When they arrived, Matt got out again to open the door for Y/n, who thanked him and hugged him without warning, which took Matt by surprise, but he quickly wrapped his long arms around her waist and squeezed her gently. "Thank you for bringing me back." Y/n thanked him, pulling away a little to say goodbye and go into her house. Matt just smiled and watched her go into her house. His heart was beating very fast and happiness overflowed from his face.
V: Uhh I can feel the tension building 👀

Headcanon order (on the what he thinks of you part):
Fierce, reckless, territorial, soft to people close to you
You tried to tell Neige you weren’t interested in the National Arcane Academy Culture Fair, you really did. But your best friend is a lot less of a pushover than he seems to be, hanging onto your arm and pulling you right to the middle of the chaos. NRC is dark, dreary, and every corner seems to be black and covered with spiderwebs. Which, honestly, is quite the refreshing turn from the bright white glitter you’d gotten used to in RSA.
“Their science club is doing a cafe!”
The black-haired, starry-eyed boy points at a spot on the map. “It’s not too far from this place, maybe we can drop by and try out their treats.” he smiles happily. You look away (two years is not enough time to get used to the sparkles that magically appear whenever he beams) and sigh. “Where are the dwarves? Won’t they enjoy going to the cafe more than I would? I told you I was just fine sitting on a bench somewhere until the SDC.”
“Huh? Oh, you’re right. Where are they—” you pull him back as he turns, but not before he bumps into someone.
“I’m so sorry! I wasn’t looking…”
“Hm? It’s fine, oh hey, aren’t you that superstar on the news?”
The ginger is getting uncomfortably close to your friend’s personal space, so you get in front of Neige, shielding him from this nosy NRC student.
“Y/N!” Neige gives you a worried look, tugging on your sleeve, “I should apologize.”
“What? He said it’s fine already.”
“Ace, are you disturbing these visitors?”
At the sound of the new voice, the young man in front of you straightens up almost unnecessarily straight, back taut and expression nervous. A short student with strawberry red hair is accompanied by a tall student with glasses and green hair. The redhead seems very uptight, with the way he drags down this ‘Ace’ person to his level by the collar to chastise him from apparently ‘disturbing’ you. Neige waves from behind you, trying to stop them while making sure not to leave your circle of protection. “No, we bumped into him, it was my fault really.”
“Ah, I see,” he nods as he lets go of the other person’s collar, “my apologies that you had to see that shameful act. If you need anything, please let the culture fair committee members know, you will recognize them by this badge.”
“Cool, but we’re just going to the cafe. Thanks for the help, bye,” you cut the conversation short and pull Neige away.
“Y/N, that was very rude.”
You shrug, “What was I supposed to do? Didn’t you see that guy has an on and off switch for exploding like an active volcano? Did you want to be on the receiving end of his next outburst?”
“Don’t be so judgmental, Y/N, you barely know the person,” Neige sighs.
“I don’t need to know him.”
Exchange program:
It turns out that you did, in fact, need to know him. Neige somehow managed to convince you to sign up for an exchange student program between RSA and NRC, so you got sorted into Heartslabyul and the guy you insulted at the culture fair is now your housewarden.
Ace and Deuce are okay, if not a few cells short of a brain sometimes. You do enjoy getting caught up in their shenanigans whenever the dorm leader and his eight hundred something rules get a tad bit too stifling. At some point, their dumb (affectionate) tactics manage to work their way into your heart, so you begrudgingly call them friends.
You think Cater’s a good guy, if not a bit social-media-obsessed. You don’t mind having him nearby because he generally just chats about random things. As long as you manage to put up with him asking for a pic every once in a while, he’s not awful. Trey is a comforting presence. He may or may not have Pavlov’d you with the way he always has a sweet treat with him, making you calmer and more susceptible to behaving within his general vicinity.
Riddle is a whole ‘nother thing altogether; you make him mad. Er, madder than usual, at least. Something must be in the tea in Heartslabyul because you and the housewarden in the same room is a guarantee for a beheading. Usually you, but there have been a fair number of innocent victims who’d just happened to get caught up in your squabbles. Riddle is a flame and you’re a tankful of gasoline, always with a witty comeback or something else that’s sure to make every situation worse.
What he thinks of you (before the relationship):
Think a dry, wooden cottage smack dab in the middle of the woods and a wildfire. That’s how you and Riddle get along. You’re hot tempered; pot, meet kettle. You’re sarcastic and snippy, traits that he most certainly does not appreciate. Every time he’s lecturing you about something or the other, you speak. And every word that comes out of your mouth makes him want to collar you.
…Another one? How did his dorm somehow get stuck with the most ‘act first, think later’ individuals? You give Riddle a headache, but don’t worry, he’s all too used to it. He will bail you out of trouble and every stupid situation you find yourself in, but also, he will assign you a 5000 word apology essay each time he does.
Riddle gets it. It’s a sign of disrespect when people touch your things without your explicit consent, and he’d get mad too if it was him in that situation. Does, however, do a double-take when he sees you tackle someone to the ground after you hear them insult Neige, screaming something about “your people”. Turns a blind eye.
Since…since when have you and that duo been so close? He’s not mad (for once). But he does feel rather…upset. You’re always such a spiky individual, so to see you almost melting into the couch, head on Deuce’s lap as he patted your hair and legs over Ace’s, it’s almost surreal. He’s not angry, no, but then why does he still feel unhappy?
Love story climax:
“I just don’t understand. Why do I feel so uncomfortable when I see Y/N together with other people?”
Trey hums from where he’s standing in the kitchen, letting Riddle know that he’s listening while whipping the bowl of cream.
“You’re smart,” Trey chuckles, “you’ll figure it out.”
Riddle rolls his eyes and looks back down at the chopping board, cutting off the top of another strawberry. It wasn’t an illness, but maybe if he diagnosed it like one, he could arrive at a proper conclusion. He mentally retraces his steps and every unpleasant feeling that had welled up inside him. He feels okay, good maybe, when he sees you. He gets mad when you retort while he’s trying to discipline you, but even then, he seems to have started to find it rather…cute? And he gets unreasonably anxious when you’re so close to your friends.
…No. No. Absolutely not.
Riddle Rosehearts is not in love with you.
What he thinks of you (in the relationship):
You still make him mad, but now instead of being collared, you just need to coax him a little and this strawberry shortcake is ready to fold like a collapsible tent. Make it up to him by being sweet and loving him lots, okay? If it’s to other people, he doesn’t really care as long as it doesn’t get violent. You are exempt from the apology letters though, congrats (he thinks that time writing them could be better spent with him).
Riddle probably needs heart medication at some point, you’re going to drive him either insane or to his inevitable death. He gets a lot more protective of you now because you’re his partner, but please please please at least try not to get hurt. Or try to consider if you might get hurt before doing something. Or how about this, you call him up before you make any decision at all?! Yeah. Heart attack.
Honestly, he probably doesn’t realize that you have a tendency to be overly possessive and territorial of him. Riddle isn’t exactly the type of guy to frequently get love confessions (he should be), you know? So the only time he nottices is when you catch him in the middle of equestrian club meetings or something, and he’s just a step too close to some newbie. Tells you to keep it down and assures you, his love for you is real and unchanging.
Happy guy. He thinks he’s silly when he gets so giddy at the smallest things you do, like kissing the back of his hand, but he can’t exactly stop the somersaults his heart does whenever you’re being so affectionate with him. Regardless, it’s quite rude to make public displays of affection, so be reserved and try to keep it all in private. Will blush at every little thing until like, two years into the relationship.
“Oh I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to—”
Neige’s words are cut short when you tackle the hyena beastman to the ground. He looks at you, horrified, and was likely about to chastise you before you pulled out a familiar leather wallet from the beastman’s pocket. “Thief,” you hiss, “you picked the wrong students to mess with.”
“Tsk, [laugh with me].”
The hyena rolls around and you’re unable to control your own movements, rolling with him. You’re lying on the ground when the magic snaps but he’s already running away, Neige’s wallet in hand. “Oh no you don’t!”
You weave through the crowd of students and booths, trying to keep your eyes trained on the mop of caramel hair that was zooming farther and farther away from you. You finally spot him by one of the stages, where he sprints by a tall lion beastman who catches him by the scruff of his neck like a kitten. You come to a stop, panting lightly as you glare at the lion beastman. “Is this guy a friend of yours? He has something of mine, so you better have him give it back quick or I’ll—”
“Ruggie,” The lion yawns, “no stealing during the culture fair.”
“Finders keepers!”
“Ruggie.”
“Fine.”
You get Neige’s wallet back and immediately turn tail and leave. These NRC students are freaks (no stealing during the culture fair? then it’s okay to steal any other time?).
Exchange program:
Something something it’s better to make friends than enemies. While not a saying you’ve ever given a fuck about before, it’s hard not to care when it led you to where you are now. Due to a mass voting in RSA for whoever to send to the exchange program, you’ve been bolted out as the sacrificial lamb (that’s what you get for always picking fights). Savanaclaw takes you in because you wrestle one of their dorm members to the ground on your very first day.
Jack Howl is probably one of the closest things you’ll see to another RSA student in this place. You get along well with him because he doesn’t take your quips at face value (or rather, he doesn’t care for your insults and dry sarcasm). Ruggie takes a bit more getting used to, but he’s a really cool dude when you manage to keep all your valuables away from arm’s reach.
And Leona…he’s like a stray cat. And you’re also a stray cat. And you’re in the same dark alley, coexisting together. You ignore each other most of the time unless the other gets a tad bit too close. It’s not too bad when the boundaries are in place.
What he thinks of you (before the relationship):
He’s too tired and sleepy most of the time to deal with your temper. Not as if you can do anything about it though, try as you might, you can never win against Leona. You can talk crap about how lazy he is or whatever, he doesn’t care, but whenever you even attempt to fight him you’re already subdued one way or another. Leona thinks you should pick and choose your battles well.
While Leona is a big believer of instincts, there’s a fine line between believing and charging in like a bull seeing red at the first tingle of a gut feeling. He’ll let out a sigh but still, he’ll fish you out of trouble and claim you’re bothering his naptime and he’ll totally leave you to fend for yourself the next time the consequences of your stupid actions find you (he will not).
He’s a lion, of course he’s territorial. So he understands your need to stake your claim on a certain place or item, as long as it’s not something he’d already claimed as his own. Leaves you about it. Territorial about people though? Same thing. Do as you will, he can’t muster the energy to care.
A low growl is emitted from his chest, pupils constricted into pinpricks, ears and tail stiff—Leona isn’t dumb. He knows that the instinctual actions of his body mean something, and in this case, it means he’s annoyed watching you be all buddy buddy with Ruggie. You, the little porcupine you are, laughing so easily with the guy you swore was your enemy, it makes him gnash his teeth in anger (envy).
Love story climax:
He can’t get you out of his head.
The few months you’ve been at NRC, you’ve started to become an existence that he didn’t mind constantly having around. He’d found you annoying at first, so why is it that now, just seeing you so happy with Ruggie is enough to drive him insane? He keeps his eyes closed but he can’t sleep. You’re still lingering in his vision, a hazy mirage by the moonlight of the savanna. Why can’t he stop thinking about you?
Why can’t he stop thinking about your hair and how soft it looked to touch? Why can’t he stop thinking about how incredible your skin would feel on his? Why can’t he stop thinking about your lips…?
Fuck.
Leona rolls over in his bed, burying his face in a pillow. Maybe if he suffocated to death he wouldn’t be haunted by thoughts of you. But, if you’re so willing to be close to Ruggie, why not Leona? He could be your…friend too. Do you already think of him as a friend? You tend to run to him with that stupid smile and chatter away even when he tells you to go away, is that a sign that you saw him as some sort of confidant? Whatever.
Leona’s not good with emotions, but he’s the farthest thing from a coward.
What he thinks of you (in the relationship):
Okay wildfire, Leona likes it, but you need to tone it down a bit unless you want your ass handed back to you on a platter. No he’s not threatening you, it’s just that you should already know the folks in NRC aren’t scared of fights. No he doesn’t care that you’re not scared of fights. Stop picking fights. If you sass him back enough he will sling you over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
There’s a reason why he always has one hand on you, whether on your hip or the back of your neck. It’s not because he’s a clingy kitty (stop teasing, he’s not a cat!), rather, it’s so he can easily stop you when a situation arises and you decide on something he wishes you didn’t decide on. Now that you’re in a relationship, he’ll sit you down and start a long discussion on why you should learn to think before you act.
Let’s get something straight, you are part of his territory, not the other way around. He’s just as protective and possessive of you as you are to him, if not more, so pretty much everyone knows to book it when they see you two together. Any poor soul who has a crush on either of you quickly get the picture.
Tsk, you’re so clingy (affectionate). Unlike most guys on the list, Leona doesn’t give two shits about other people, ergo, he doesn’t care when you kiss or touch him in public. In fact, he encourages it. Go ahead, mark him up. But if he reciprocates, he’ll tell you he’s just doing what you’ve been doing, so you have no right to refuse.
You knew it was instantly trouble when the person he bumped into had all the tells of a bad mood. You push Neige behind you while he apologizes profusely to the stranger. “Sorry, I didn’t see you there, I’m so sorry!” His words obviously went unheard because this annoyingly tall NRC student only grimaced, and you know from experience that when someone bares their teeth at you, it means they haven’t forgiven your pitiful apology.
“You can’t see where you’re going, hah, maybe I should squeeze you ‘til your eyes pop out? Maybe you’ll see it then?”
Let it be known that though you were half this asshole’s size, that did not mean you were going to take this lying down.
“Hey, back off. He said it was an accident.”
You feel Neige tugging on your sleeve. “Hey, Y/N let’s just—”
“I don’t care if it was an accident, I’m in a slump and you just made it worse, y’know?”
“Well I don’t care if you don’t care. You better back off before I take your slump and shove it down your stupid—”
Another unfamiliar figure approaches, this one shorter than the asshole, with purplish-white hair and glasses, yet somehow looking just as dangerous with the kind smile he has on. He gives the guy in front of you a very pissed-off look behind the carefully maintained grin. You think he might be trying to whisper, but it’s not very quiet.
“Floyd! I told you to sell the drinks while Jade and I are gone, what are you doing here?”
“Ehhh, but I didn’t feel like selling drinks.”
They’re gone before you even know what’s going on.
The interaction only cemented what you’d known before you even got here; everyone in NRC is a weirdo.
Exchange program:
Apparently, someone’s great idea for a prank is signing you up to be an exchange student to NRC. So, hurray.
You’re plopped into Octavinelle because the very reliable headmaster of NRC drew lots from some magical (rigged) thing. It doesn’t take you too long to realize that the quick-to-violence guy you’d met a little while back is one of the frontrunners of the dormitory. Thankfully, your second meeting has Floyd in a better mood than before, and he decides that you’re interesting before bestowing you your very own nickname; catfish. You do not appreciate it.
Jade is easy enough to get along with, you’ve discovered it’s good to just do as he says and as long as he has nothing to gain from it, he won’t torment you (too much). Though, he does make your hackles rise every once in a while because dear Seven he gives you the heebie-jeebies, even despite the perfectly polite thing he has going on.
Azul, it takes you way too long to befriend. He starts off avoiding you almost entirely, like you’re a contagious disease (if only you knew). You’re not the type to suck up to anyone, and definitely not the type to force close proximity with someone who seems to hate you, so you leave him alone. Eventually, one potion explosion, two torn contracts, and one messed up lounge later, you and Azul become acquaintances. Friends, maybe. Uh, tentatively.
What he thinks of you (before the relationship):
Azul thinks you’re unnecessarily high-strung. Well, where do you get the energy to always be so combative and hot-tempered? He’d rather stay away from people like you when business isn’t involved. He’s one to always keep calm and cool after all, he doesn’t think he’d get along with you at all.
Your tendency to act according to your nature and intuition and just general however you feel like acting, it’s an enigma for sure. Azul prefers a plan and at least three other backup plans, so you running headfirst into any situation makes him sigh and take another step back from you. Sevens know it might be contagious (does not call you stupid to your face, but to your back? Absolutely).
The first time he saw you almost bite Floyd’s head off for just touching your things without your permission, it was enough for him to put another strike on his record. Oh dear, you really are a handful, aren’t you? Does not realize your territorialism extends to people until Jade showed him what happened to the last student that tried messing with one of the dwarves.
Azul thinks he needs new glasses. Is that you? Looking so sweet and cuddly with your friends? Really? He gets flashbacks to when you almost scratched his eyes out that time he tried roping you into one of his contracts. Now seeing you all clingy with that celebrity, he feels…uncomfortable. It must be because you’re acting strange (he’s not jealous, thank you very much).
Love story climax:
“Yeah their food is crazy good,” you grin at Neige, helping him choose a few items on the menu, “as long as the bill is paid, at least.”
While Azul is flattered at your actions to recommend the Mostro Lounge to your closest friend who’d dropped by for a visit, there’s an annoying, itchy, gnawing feeling in one of his hearts that makes him unable to sit still. He pushes your original waiter aside and approaches your table with his little notepad, shooting you the most charming smile he’s able to give. He taps his pen against the paper to get your attention. “Y/N, I’m so glad to see you stop by again. I assume you’ll have the usual?”
“Oh, hey Azul,” he does not fail to notice the way your tone gets softer with him, “yes please. And can you add some other dishes for my friend here? Maybe two or three of your most popular ones, just so he can try them.”
Azul nods, jotting down your order. Then, he places a hand over his chest, grinning, “Of course, and just for you, it’s free of charge!”
It doesn’t take him long to confess now that he knows you like him too.
What he thinks of you (in the relationship):
Thinks it’s hot 100%, he will die on this hill. While he still doesn’t appreciate you constantly getting into fights with other people, seeing you angry is so interesting to him. Also, you turn down the sarcasm with him, so he can fully enjoy seeing you tear someone a new one. Will not stop you unless it’s beginning to get physical.
His hair is about to turn white. Except, it’s already white. Anyway, the point is that you stress him out very much, as you being reckless means you tend to get into situations that isn’t in his Plan A. Or B. Or C. He bails you out of trouble with a calm smile and an eloquent speech, and it’s usually enough to resolve the situation. This doesn’t mean he likes you having virtually no self-control or self-reflection skills though, you’ll have to have a long talk with him (communication is key).
Azul thinks it’s cute when you let him pop your personal bubble, and he’s very happy to watch you try to pick a fight with anyone who gets too close to either you or him (keyword being try, he does his best to stop any actual fights from happening). He doesn’t mind you seeing him as part of your ‘territory’, as long as he gets something in return (and you don’t get too suffocating).
Watching you curl up into him whether in public or private gets him flustered, but especially in public. Angelfish, the big bad businessman has a reputation to uphold, you know? Still, he can’t find it in himself to push you off when you’re just so adorable like this, knowing how feisty you typically are. Do try to save it for private spaces though, he would also like to cling onto you shamelessly.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to!”
Something is off about the person Neige bumped into. Call it a gut feeling, or maybe it was the way the brown haired student was instantly alert, sweeping the white haired boy to a ‘safer’ distance before deciding on whether or not it was worth it to actually face you and Neige. You’re not sure what exactly is wrong, but your intuition is saying that this is not the kind of person your all-too-naive friend is supposed to fraternize with.
“It’s fine.”
His answer is curt, and he steers the other boy away immediately. You share a look with Neige, when you click your tongue and pull him along to find a map.
“They seemed nice.”
You hope there will not come a day when your friend is at the mercy of people with bad intentions, as it is very likely that he’d be eaten alive. “They seemed like bad news. Everyone here seems like bad news.” You reply, finally finding the botanical gardens where the cafe had been set up. You sit across from Neige at a table where some student takes your orders. Neige asks for a caramel macchiato with extra caramel and some macarons, and you opt for something a little less diabetic. “Don’t say that, Y/N. They didn’t even do anything to us, even though I was at fault for bumping into them. Isn’t that nice?”
You roll your eyes, “It’s nice that they didn’t, what, beat us up? Have higher standards, LeBlanche.”
“They seem like they’d make for good friends, that’s all,” he laughs softly.
“You think that of everyone.”
“Maybe you should give it a try.”
Exchange program:
Neige’s great plan to get you more “accustomed” to people is to throw you to NRC in the school’s newly-cooked-up exchange student program. You can’t stop him, because he really is only thinking of the best for you, but it doesn’t mean you have to like it, right? You get put in Scarabia because they have a lot of room.
Jamil is…okay. He’s a lot of things, but mostly, he’s not someone you’d ever find back at RSA. He’s a stressed out nanny most of the time, but there are a few moments when he feels more morally gray than people should probably be.
Kalim, however, you get along with splendidly. With him as your housewarden, you almost feel like you’re back with your normal circle of friends. Except Kalim is like, horrendously richer than them (and a bit more airheaded, though you think that could still be debated).
What he thinks of you (before the relationship):
Sorry, but most of your sarcasm is going to bounce right off Kalim’s head. He will not notice it unless you’re really blunt about it, in which case, why? It’s not easy to be mad at someone who’s so genuine all the time, and being unnecessarily mean to him is just, well, mean. It’s best to just go along with him. You can’t win against this type of person.
Twinning! No, seriously, you’re two cookies cut from the same dough, with the exact same cookie cutter. You and Kalim are exactly the same in this kind of thing, and it drives Jamil absolutely insane. Sorry to say but whatever trouble you stir up you’re going to have to face yourself; Kalim is no help, he rarely even has to face the consequences of his own actions, much less yours.
Kalim is the kind of guy to unintentionally get too close, like, all the time. No he doesn’t mean it, but it also doesn’t help when your instincts go nuts because he borrowed a pencil without asking. He does notice that you’re very protective of your stuff, but he doesn’t really notice what he does most of the time, though he tries to respect your boundaries. Does not notice it translates to people.
Oh hey! You’re hanging out with Neige, that’s so cool, can he come with? No…? You want some time with your friend because he’s only visiting for a short time? That’s cool…yeah, he can give you guys space. It’s not very often that the Al-Asim heir finds something that makes him feel disappointed or upset, but this is certainly one of them. And the worst part is, he doesn’t even know why.
Love story climax:
You’re such a sight to behold.
Kalim wonders if Neige knows how lucky he is, able to touch you and hug you like he does. You don’t even fight back, only returning the embrace with a smile. There’s a sharp pain in Kalim’s chest and he wonders what he has to do in order for you to let him that close. He’s your friend too, isn’t he? It’s…so unfair.
“Kalim?”
Jamil approaches him with a worried expression. “Are you okay? You’ve been staring at the fountain for a while.”
He sees the change in Jamil’s face when he notices that it’s you sitting by the fountain. “I see.” The words make Kalim laugh. He rests his elbows on the railing and leans forward, resting his chin on his palms. Of course, Jamil would know. Jamil would understand. Jamil can see the blooming feelings in his chest that he himself took far too long to get.
He wonders if you know.
What he thinks of you (in the relationship):
Being in a relationship does not make Kalim able to detect sarcasm. If you ever try to sass him, he will take it at face value. Anyway, now that you’re this close, it’s easier to understand that with his background, Kalim has never wanted for anything, and no one ever really says no to him. He has a tendency to not hear what you’re saying sometimes, only believing in what he wants to hear. You’re going to need to find some time to discuss this with him.
The only way that this would differ from when you were just strangers/friends with Kalim, is that Jamil is now kind of obligated to help you out when you find yourself in situations you can’t (and likely don’t want to) talk your way out of. At some point he just hypnotizes you to stay out of trouble, at least for a weekend, so he can breathe. Between you and Kalim, he’s probably about to overblot again.
Are you jealous? Kalim laughs it off and hugs you, promising he only loves you and no one else! It’s unlikely he understands the nuances, but Jamil assures you it’s better that way. Your protectiveness goes a bit unnoticed, if only because he’s used to bodyguards and being protected, and it’s also very unlikely that he notices your possessiveness.
Kalim lives for displays of affection! Physical touch, gift giving, words of affirmation—his most fluent language is every love language ever. You want to hug in the middle of a crowd? Sure, he might lose you in the throng of people, after all. Want to kiss? Why not? Make sure not to miss his lips, okay? Private, public, with an audience or alone, Kalim will love you and he will do it in a way that you will never doubt his feelings for you.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t—oh! You’re one of Vil’s friends, right?” Neige holds out a hand to the purple-haired boy for a handshake while you look on with a raised brow. “Um, Epel, I think, is what he called you?”
This Epel kid puts on a smile and shakes Neige’s hand, but it’s easy to tell it’s fake. He’s looking around nervously, as if to ascertain that no one sees him holding hands with Neige, and he takes it back as quickly as he’d put it out. “Right, I need to go, it was nice seeing you,” Epel laughs awkwardly and attempts to leave. He’s rooted in place once his name is called out by someone tall, blonde, and annoyingly pretty. You know from watching your friend’s works that this is the person who often played his rival; Vil Schoenheit. He does not give you the impression that he considers Neige a friend the way that Neige sees him go be.
“Epel, it’s time to go back for rehearsals,” he snaps at the younger boy, before putting on a perfectly practiced smile as he turned to Neige, “apologies for the trouble, we’ll leave you be now.”
And they walk away.
Your friend next to you is waving happily while you cross your arms.
(Clearly, that pompous-looking peacock has something against Neige.)
“It’s a shame, I wanted to introduce you to Vil, but he seems very busy.”
You scoff lightly, but at the very least, you try to mask your distaste. There’s no need for you to tell him that Vil likely hates his guts and the very dirt he steps on, not unless the other makes a move on it. “I don’t need to know anyone here,” you roll your eyes and hold onto his wrist, pulling him away, “let’s just find that cafe. Botanical gardens, right?”
“Right!”
Exchange program:
Due to a few…accidents, the faculty members of RSA have chosen you to represent the school in an exchange student program (they want you shipped off to NRC, like, bad). Pomefiore is the very lucky winner of the “which dorm should this kid be in” raffle, which means hell for you.
Epel is surprisingly funny. He’s probably one of the prettiest people you’ve ever met (and RSA is filled with pretty boys), yet his natural way of doing things is so crude, for lack of a better word. He feels good to chill with, and escape from all the prissiness that the dorm (and its housewarden) has to offer. Rook, though, you stay far away from. Sometimes when you’re alone, you feel like someone is watching you. And it’s probably him.
If there was anyone in this entire school that you absolutely loathe, it’s the world-renowned model actor blah blah blah Vil. He cannot stand your flippant attitude and you cannot stand his everything.
What he thinks of you (before the relationship):
Vil does not know who Jesus Christ is, but I assure you that if he did, the name would be on his tongue 24/7. You don’t stand a chance in a verbal or physical fight with Vil, so you’ve learned to settle for making stupid comments behind his back. That he can still hear. He finds you very frustrating to work with, but he does love a challenge. You’ll learn to be more elegant by the time he’s done with you (you will not).
Part of the ‘does not give a fuck’ club. Whatever mess you find yourself in is your business, do you understand? He’s not one for spoon feeding, potato, so all your problems are your own to bear. Vil thinks that basing everything off intuition and instinct is straight up barbaric, but unfortunately for both you and him, you can’t be moved to Savanaclaw.
What are you, an animal? He can understand not wanting other people to touch your possessions, but must you hiss like some sort of raccoon? Fine, he’ll back off if he must. Your possessiveness of people doesn’t escape him, he just doesn’t think it’s any of his business. However, your actions now, in part, reflect Pomefiore which is under his rule and jurisdiction. Watch how you act.
It’s such an ugly feeling, and one that Vil refuses to define. And it’s Neige again, why is it always Neige? He knows you’re close but must you be that close? You’re always against people being in your ‘bubble’, so when he sees you all over that doe-eyed rival of his, it leaves him seething. Stop holding his hand, stop whispering so close to his ear, stop ignoring Vil…please…
Love story climax:
“Mira, Mira, who is the most beautiful of them all?”
Since he already knows the answer, why does he keep asking? Vil’s never pegged himself as a masochist. Then, what the hell is he doing to himself?
“Searching. The account with most comments tagged as beautiful, Neige LeBlanche.”
…Of course.
Why is it that Neige can get what he can’t have every single time? He works just as hard, doesn’t he? If not more. Neige is the protagonist, Vil is the antagonist. Neige is the hero, Vil is the villain. Neige is your best friend.
Who is Vil to you? Do you even think about him half the amount of times that he thinks of you? Is he a stranger? An acquaintance? A naggy dorm leader that you wish to avoid as much as possible?
He’s come second to your best friend one too many times.
He’s not giving up your heart, not to Neige, not to anyone.
What he thinks of you (in the relationship):
Congratulations, you’ve been upgraded from annoying (derogatory) to annoying (affectionate)! While he doesn’t enjoy your cattiness too much, Vil does like a bit of bite. He’ll indulge you just a little, everything’s fine in moderation, after all. Just make sure you know when to tone it down, darling.
Vil is a responsible person, and he expects you to be responsible too. If you pick a fight all on your own, he has no qualms letting you face the consequences by yourself. But he’s not heartless. If it really is too much for you to handle, or if it’s not your fault, he’s more than happy to help you mediate things (or beat someone up idk).
Jealousy isn’t pretty, but he rather likes the color on you. This man is beloved by literal millions so you’ll have a hard time keeping him all to yourself. But if it’s any consolation, his love is all yours, alright? Vil wouldn’t mind a possessive lover just as long as you know your place. If you think of him as part of your territory? Well, why not?
Vil Schoenheit has a reputation to keep. He can’t just let you do whatever; he’s a public figure. So all your lovey dovey-ing will have to wait until you and him are behind closed, locked, chained doors with shut windows covered by heavy curtains, do you understand? If you do, then feel free to adore him as much as you want to. He will return your affection in kind.
“I didn’t notice you there, sorry!”
“It’s fine…gosh these normies are so clumsy, can’t even walk without tripping over their own feet…though I guess I’m not one to talk.”
Your sense of hearing has an impeccable range, at least, more than enough to hear this walking matchstick’s grumbling that he’d likely meant to keep to himself. You glare at him and push Neige back, rolling up your sleeves. This guy might be tall, but he’ll bend to your level with a nice kick at the groin. “What’d you call my friend, you blue-raspberry-flavored lightstick?”
“Y/N, stop it!”
He squealed, seemingly panicking as he backed away. “What the, I say a few words and you pick a fight irl? That’s so lame.”
“I swear to the Seven if another stupid word leaves your—”
“Threat detected.”
A cute, blue-haired (blue-flamed?) robot kid is pointing some pretty big laser guns your way, so you’re forced to take a step back, watching him slowly lower them. “Hello, please refrain from threatening my big brother, or I’ll have to annihilate you.” The kid warns you with a chipper tone of voice, but he’s glaring at you harshly.
“Y/N,” Neige whispers, “let’s just go.”
You weigh your options and decide that, even though you can probably take that six-foot gremlin, it’s very unlikely you’ll come out unscathed with the adorable death machine in the mix. You send the man one last glare while your friend pulls you away from possible homicide.
Exchange program:
The greenhouse going up in flames was definitely not your fault. Uh, totally unrelated sentence aside, you’ve been chosen to represent RSA to go on an exchange student program to NRC. Because no one from Ignihyde was at the meeting (physically), they couldn’t exactly turn you down. Most people ignored the panicking tablet, anyway.
Ortho is a sweetheart, you’ve found, when you’re not threatening to de-ball his beloved older brother. But the catch is that you can’t spend much time with him without also spending time with Idia. Which, ew.
Your housewarden is someone you barely ever saw. But you’ve taken it upon yourself to annoy him as much as humanly possible (no you’re not petty who said that), so you usually camp outside his door to spook him from ever leaving. This escalates to occasional talks through the door, which turns into him slipping you a controller, to him realizing you can’t play if you don’t see the screen, to actually letting you hang out in his room.
What he thinks of you (before the relationship):
Make no mistake, Idia’s tongue is just as poisonous as yours, if not more. The combination usually leads to trash talk that once made Ortho splash the two of you with cold water. He thinks you’re funny, but you’re both petty so most verbal fights turn to you two swatting at each other like children.
Bro, don’t you have a strategy for every level? You can’t win if you just wing it all the time, y’know? Idia’s the type of gamer who spends several hours at a game’s wiki page just to find the best route to the finish line, so you being as you are kinda gives him a headache. And look, he’s not helping you out, okay? None of his business.
What…you chill in his room but don’t let him have some of your honey butter potato chips? That’s lame af, but like whatever. He notices the people thing when he sees you through one of the cameras (that he did not plant nuh uh) in school, about to commit murder because someone called Ortho things neither you nor Idia appreciate. Hey, he’s rooting for you.
It took him like three weeks just to be able to sit two meters away from you without you bitching about it, so Idia is, understandably, a bit peeved when he sees you practically when he finds you hugging Ortho. He shouldn’t be annoyed, it’s Ortho, for sevens’ sake! But it’s not like he can just stop feeling frustrated. He can’t stop feeling disappointed. He can’t stop feeling…wait, what is he feeling? Jealousy? No! Absolutely not!
Love story climax:
He has to look away when you turn your head, lest he get caught in the act of totally-not-staring. He tries to focus on the game and on the way his character is moving on the screen.
But why is it that he feels like it’s a waste of time?
He loves gaming! The online world is his passion, his everything. But when you’re sitting right beside him, he thinks he’d prefer to admire you, adore you, instead of beating his high score at Kingdom Odyssey: Rise of Dragonheart. He takes another peek at your pretty face, glowing by the light of the screen. Your features morph into one of excitement, and he feels his heart lightening too when he catches your bright smile.
“I won! You lost, suck it!”
He doesn’t even mind you gloating, because your smug smirk is just…
Ew. Gross. Blegh.
It’s like he got turned into a shoujo manga character right there. Idia turns back to the screen. “Dumb luck, noob. Next round it’s gg for you.”
What he thinks of you (in the relationship):
He doesn’t fight with you as often…but he still fights with you. Nothing serious of course, but trolling each other has become as much of a love language as quality time is. Idia really does enjoy trash talking with you the most, if only because you turn it into a competition. When you lose, he makes you do something silly. Like uh, marrying his character in Sunfall Brookes…
Worry not! Idia, being the super awesome and totally cool genius he is, has whipped something up so that Ortho is behind you at every turn. He can’t support your stupidity irl most of the time, but having his little brother (who is fully equipped with deadly laser guns) back you up is probably good enough. So it’s fine, you’re fine, worse comes to worst Ortho’ll pick you up and fly you right back to your loving boyfriend (who may or may not be waiting to hear about your stupid actions).
While you do share your potato chips now, it seems to have become a bit more troublesome. Like, what do you mean does he love Moonkiss Eclipse the Magical Sparkle Girl more than you? Of course he loves you more (pssssst Ortho can you hide the body pillow before my s/o pops me into a body bag). Your main enemy will be the thousands of fictional characters that Idia loves, so good luck!
Idia’s not like, super great at public displays of affection. He’s not great in public, in general. Your clinginess and kisses and whatnot will have to wait until you’re back at either his or your room, ‘kay? It’s worth it though, you get to see a shy, blushy Idia with flaming pink hair.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going.”
“I AM FINE, HUMAN! YOU CANNOT INJURE ME WITH YOUR WEAK HUMAN BODY!”
Neige’s sheepish apology is met with a loud, annoying, obnoxious response. It makes you want to deck the green haired man in the face just for damaging your eardrums. “Hey, cut it out, will you? You’re loud,” you click your tongue, glaring at him, “and very annoying.”
“HOW DARE YOU CALL ME ANNOYING, HUMAN?! I WILL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT I, SEBEK ZIGVOLT, ONE OF MALLEUS-SAMA’S MOST LOYAL RETAINERS, AM A FIGURE OF—”
You figure you’re unlikely to get anything useful out of this student whose head seems very deep inside his own ass. Just as you’re planning your escape route (or how to get away with murder), a voice that successfully stops the blabber arrives.
“Sebek?” a beautiful horned fae intercedes from the sidelines, “I thought you were with Silver and Lilia.”
“MY LIEGE!”
This is probably your cue to leave.
With your hand wrapped around Neige’s wrist, you whisk him far far away from this school’s legion of freaks. As good as the eye candy (the horned fae) was, another word from the green weirdo is bound to have you arrested after socking him in the gut.
“Y/N? Where are we going?” Neige asks hesitantly.
“To the cafe,” you answer curtly, “then after that we’re going right back for your SDC practice, okay? I cannot stand one more second with all these NRC students around.”
Exchange program:
RSA held a very, very random name drawing for the exchange student program, and surprise, it’s you! And apparently, during a housewarden meeting, Diasomnia offered to be your dorm during your stay (no one needs to know Diasomnia’s housewarden wasn’t there).
You start sort-of acquaintances with Silver, but he’s actually an amazing antithesis to you. Since, you know, you’re always blazing in your fiery temper and he’s just…asleep. Maybe not antithesis. Anyway he’s a good friend.
Being in the same dorm as Sebek does not make you tolerate him more. In fact, you butt heads so much that Lilia’s assigned someone in Diasomnia to always be watching the two of you when in the same room. Lilia is cool, he’s cute, he’s super fun. You get along nicely with him once you’ve gotten used to being jumpscared.
Malleus, to be honest, you barely ever saw. He’s a bit stuck in his own world, and it’s not as if you cross paths often in your schedule. He’s more a bystander in your world before something (a fight with one of his retainers, you can guess which one) happens, and you finally manage to call him a ‘friend’.
What he thinks of you (before the relationship):
My, you’ve got quite some courage, saying those things in front of the Prince of Briar Valley. Malleus doesn’t mind though, in fact, he welcomes it. He sees it as a sign that you’re friends. After all, none too many would do as you do and sass him, saying such crude and bold words. As long as you don’t cross a line, the fae prince will smile with a ready retort in light fun.
He thinks your antics are amusing, to say the least. But you know that thing where his superiority complex kind of comes out every once in a while? Yeah, he sees you as entertaining. Kinda condescending. The good thing about this is that he doesn’t get mad at the situations you find yourself in, plus it only takes a snap of his fingers to clean up your mess. The bad thing is that you feel like half a court jester.
Malleus understands your natural instinct to claim some place and things as territory. He’s a dragon fae, after all, and those myths and legends of their greed do hold some degree of merit. This extends to people? How interesting. Watches on with amusement as you tackle a student to the ground for calling Lilia ‘weird’.
In all his years of living, this is the first time that anything has made him feel this way. There’s a bitter taste lingering on the back of his tongue, and neon green sparks curl and flicker around his fingers. It’s out of his control, he can’t help it; you’re so unbelievably unlike yourself right now it’s driving him insane. Why would you cuddle with Silver under a tree like this? Do you feel something for his knight? Thunder rumbles in the distance.
Love story climax:
“Beloved.”
The word is strange, weighing heavily on his lips. And yet, as he watches your sleeping figure, mind almost subconsciously erasing Silver from the picture, he finds it to be a word befitting of you. Lovely. “It will be dark soon,” Malleus whispers, and the prince is brought to his knees next to you if only so that you may hear his yearning, “it is best to return indoors and sleep there.”
Your eyes flutter open; you are a vision he cannot ever hope to erase from his mind.
“Sorry, I was,” you let out a soft yawn, stretching your limbs, “I got really tired from PE. Oh, I should wake up Silver.”
Malleus can’t help the lightning that zooms across his fingertips. You didn’t seem to notice the term he’d used for you, still addled from sleep. You’re focused on gently shaking his retainer awake.
It matters not, for you will be his soon enough.
(How could you ever hope to be more territorial than a dragon, dearest?)
What he thinks of you (in the relationship):
Being assertive and straightforward with your words is a great trait of rulers, beloved (yeah, in a relationship means he’s planning for marriage babe, keep up). Sass and sarcasm will have to be taken down a notch though, although he loves you, the faes in Briar Valley are old and not very accommodating of your hobby of wordplay. He does enjoy it, however, so feel free to speak as you wish when the two of you are alone.
In this kind of situation, he babies you a lot more. It’s not really condescension though, he believes that you can handle yourself especially since he now sees you as an equal. But Malleus is highly, if not overly, indulgent of the one he loves. Sees no need to change it unless something big happens. Is more liable to clean up after your messes, this time out of love.
Malleus thinks you’re so adorable when you’re jealous, with the way you get so fussy and protective over him. It’s not as if you really have a reason for jealousy, the prince is less ‘lusted after by many suitors’ and more feared. At least, that’s what he believes. So you only have Lilia and Silver to comfort you after a long day of fighting with his many many admirers.
Have a sense of decorum, dear, a public place is not suitable for displays of affection. Or so he says, but really, who is Malleus to stop you if you wish to be loving and sweet? He’ll melt faster than you can even say his name. He will have to hold back on reciprocating temporarily, but rest assured he has a mental tally and will be repaying you threefold once you’re in his private quarters.

Summary: Terry makes good on a promise.
Pairing: Terry Richmond x Black!OC
Word Count: 2.1k
Warnings: SMUT (18+)
Previous: At Last: Part Two
“I’m gonna fuck the glasses off your face tonight. Okay?”
A simple sentence. No fanfare. No lingering touch or a suggestive look. Not even a repeat of his matter-of-fact declaration despite the words nearly being lost to the pockets of conversation in Corey’s kitchen during a rowdier than usual Friendsgiving gathering. Terry calmly whispered the plain statement into Patrice’s ear as he passed by on the way out of the door to join the other men in the backyard.
Patrice tried to appear unphased while she sipped from her plastic cup of white wine. “Now?”
“I’ll let you know.”
He’d made up his mind to have her babbling incoherent sentences while he bent her over the living room couch before they could make it out of the house, but holding in his little secret had proven difficult. Terry wished he could blame it on the tequila shots or the haze of weed smoke blown out of mouths far too federally employed to still be dabbling with the plant. Either would be an acceptable lie because the truth was too trivial to share. It was the North Carolina A&T crew neck and black cat-eye glasses Patrice had chosen to sport for the night. His mind dreamt up all the times he’d missed her studying for exams in the sweater a hair too large, and glasses that made her look like a professor during office hours while she bounced around the room making small talk with people he hardly recognized. His social butterfly moving her lips a mile a minute when all he wanted to do was feel those lips on every square inch of his body.
Terry needed her in the worst way. The bathroom might’ve sufficed. Maybe even the backseat of his truck. But neither option provided the sound insulation he needed to fulfill his raging desire. He’d need the privacy of their home and a TV turned all the way up to avoid disturbing the neighbors.
The signal to leave came with a quick tap on Patrice’s hip in the middle of a spirited talk with her best friend, Vicky, about something he couldn’t care less about.
“I guess that’s my cue, girl,” Patrice laughed, trying to play her role as the chatty wife being called away by her quiet husband. “Talk to you later?”
Their exit featured hurried goodbyes and promises to return for the Christmas game night that they likely wouldn’t remember come daylight. Hands fumbled with keyfobs and door handles in their mad dash to somewhere a little more secluded. Blue lights from the dashboard reflected from Patrice’s glasses as they made out in front of their childhood friend’s house like maniacs, too intoxicated with lust to care if someone saw them from the open front door.
One hand on the steering and the other middle and ring fingers deep in warm pussy had Terry breaking speed limits and running stop signs to turn a twenty-minute journey into ten if he were lucky.
They didn’t waste time with light switches or picking up discarded clothing on the clumsy journey to the bedroom. A split second of clarity told Terry to flip on the lamp as Patrice made the descent to his dick one sloppy kiss on his chest and stomach at a time.
“What you got for me?”
More than he’d bargained for should’ve been the answer had she taken the time to use her mouth for anything more than making his muscled thighs tense like he’d been tased.
With a pillow folded between her legs while she lay on her stomach and eyes looking up at Terry over the rim of her spectacles, Patrice put on an oral demonstration fit for a professional. Her glasses fogged from the cold air and steamy situation unfolding on their marital bed.
The corners of her mouth stinging from the stretch of him and the ache building in her core kept her tethered to reality when she wanted to escape into the pleasure of seeing her man so vulnerable from her touch.
He hissed and cursed as she ran a flat tongue on the underside of his dick. “Fuck, girl. I knew I’d get all of this up out you one day. Damn…”
Gobbsmacked. Astounded. Sucked into oblivion. Terry had transcended time and space once Patrice made a home for him at the back of her throat over and over again. Spit coated her hands, chin, and his lap while she focused on leaving him too stupefied to utter anything that had more than one syllable. She could’ve swiped every dollar from his wallet, bank account, and retirement fund and he’d still thank her for inviting him into her mouth.
Low groans and rough requests for more sounded like applause as Patrice went to work on her lover. His approach to the mountaintop matched hers as she desperately searched for friction from the pillow below her.
“Hell yeah, like that, baby. You know what you doin’. Shit.” Praise came in heeps. Her silk press had long turned into reigns for Terry to keep her head stable. Tears mixed with saliva for extra lubrication. She looked gorgeous under amber light to her husband.
Up and down, up and down. Take it. Gargle it down. Breathe through your nose. Looping mantras played in her head as he took control to finish what she’d started.
His release came in a photo finish. His toes curled from pure ecstasy. Body seized up in beautiful suspension, each bulging muscle in his arms and torso on display. Head thrown back to direct his loud moan to the ceiling. Eyeballs rolled behind fluttering lids. Kids drained down the hatch, never to reach their full potential.
She cleaned up the remnants with her tongue, splitting her attention between Terry and the building orgasm as she swiveled her hips against firm cotton. He stared down at her, taking in the way her jaw dropped to form that ‘o’ he loved so much. Her brow furrowed once her teeth took hold of her bottom lip.
“That feel good to you, baby?”
“Mhmm.” Patrice tried to give a more accurate description of her mind state. All she could manage was a slurred hum in the affirmative while he watched her unravel at the seams without his help.
“Show me. I wanna watch.”
And watch he did. Dick in hand and back pressed against the headboard, Terry used his refractory period to watch Patrice turn his pillow into her personal fuck toy. Her hips bucked slowly under his attention while she searched for her first eruption.
His stroke matched her movements blow for blow while she admired her lone audience member. Siren eyes and a confident smirk, hands kneading bountiful breasts, and his name rolling from her lips kept him engrossed in her one-woman show.
The inevitable approached like a crashing wave against a calm shore. “Let me cum for you, Terrence. Can I do that? Tell me.”
Patrice knew the trouble she’d started. Using his first name, and asking for permission, it was all to elicit the reaction Terry so eagerly provided. He scrambled to his knees for the chance to hover over her with his forehead pressed so tightly against hers that they shared pools of sweat.
Intense blue-green eyes peered down at her, wordlessly edging her closer to paradise.
“Nuh uh, eyes up here,” Patrice instructed when the view of quaking thighs and waxed lower lips became too distracting for Terry. “Tell me when, my love. I’m all yours.”
Her voice climbed, sounding like a symphony to his ears. He waited and watched until she met the brink of too much stimulation. “Now. Right now.”
A rush of emotions forever intertwining two bodies flowed between them through a kiss dominated by silky tongues and Patrice’s swallowed mewls. Terry had perfected the art of kissing. Knowing when to suck at her bottom lip, when to wrap his large hand around Patrice’s throat to keep her head angled upward, and when to pull away for other pursuits.
Normally, hickeys were childish evidence of adult activities, but tonight they were trophies for a job well done.
“I love you so much.” Even in furious fucking where feelings took a backseat to more carnal desires, Terry refused to miss an opportunity to utter his favorite phrase. He sucked a nipple into his mouth, letting his tongue trace the outline of her areola to his heart’s content before pulling away to show the other the same attention. He listened to her sigh and smiled. “I love the way you sound.”
“What else?”
A lick up her sternum before a kiss. “I love the way you say my name.”
“Yeah?”
“I love your body. You’re perfect.” An open-mouthed kiss at the base of her neck as he gripped her waist. “I love the way you take dick. Especially tonight. Think you can take some more for me, pretty?”
Like a magnet, Terry’s fingers found their way to Patrice’s slick inner lips as he gathered wetness to drag skilled digits around her clit. Her breath audibly hitched from the contact, making him chuckle with his lips pressed against her cheek. Slow circles, maddeningly slow and gentle enough to feel like nothing at all had her willing to agree to just about anything to get off.
“Whatever you say, baby.”
Terry didn’t say much. It wasn’t his nature. Only short, honey-sweet directions for Patrice to press her chest to crumpled sheets and spread her knees wide. He made it so easy to comply. So easy to contort herself into any position he wanted because she knew what awaited her on the other side.
He had her at his mercy. Her sat ass high up in the air with her flower on display from a gloriously deep arch. Terry felt an animalistic switch flip to remind him of his promise. Pupils dilated and reinvigorated by the lewd image manifesting at his fingertip, he went to work.
A relentless pounding. Punishing strokes that made the bed creak from the stress of it all. The sheer force knocked Patrice’s glasses askew without an opportunity for adjustment. She could only claw at the foot of the bed and push her hips back into his to match the rhythm.
The sound of smacking skin and mixed moans created a soundtrack for rabid, desperate fucking. His thumbs left impressions on the delicate skin of her back, turning his knuckles white as he dug deeper.
Patrice took every inch like only she could, earning a rough smack as appreciation.
“That’s my girl,” Terry gritted through clenched teeth. “Stay with me. I feel you.”
It was all too much. The angle. The vision of Terry’s chest clenching and releasing for exertion as Patrice looked back at him. The way his brows knitted in concentration. The scent of his cologne wafted with every move. His tattoos glistened under dim lights.
“Oh my God!”
Early sparks of a white-hot release turned Patrice into putty, forcing Terry to hold her close.
One hand between her legs and the other putting soft pressure on the sides of her neck kept Patrice and Terry tethered on their quest for joint waves.
“I love you.”
“I need you.”
“You feel so good inside me.”
“Kiss me. Please.”
“Cum for me.”
Terry sank his teeth into Patrice’s shoulder as she clenched around him, no longer able to contain himself as she clenched around him. Shared euphoria. A once in a blue moon experience that neither of them had encountered.
Moans became indistinguishable. Eyelids clamped shut as hips sputtered. Glasses tumbled from the bed to the floor, having served their purpose. Bodies wrapped themselves around the other until they were spent, toppled over, and basking in the feel of each other.
“Good job, baby.” Terry praised, his voice soothing her mind while his hands rubbed the peaks and valleys of Patrice’s hips and thighs while they lay on their sides. He couldn’t bring himself to pull out, too engrossed in the subtle aftershocks deep inside her body. “You okay? Talk to me.”
Patrice breathed out a delirious laugh as she turned to look at him over her shoulder. “I can’t see! I can’t believe you fucked me blind. You’re insane.”
“How much time you got tonight? I got some shit I been wanting to do to you for a long time.”
“Like what?”
Whispers of new positions and marathon lovemaking made the hairs on her arms stand at attention. A second promise had entered the mix.
They’d make a baby or spend the rest of the night and into the morning trying.

Lovesick Fools - Barou Shoei x Reader
another (very late) contribution to @tetzoro 's Summer Olympics Collab!
Barou Shoei has two different sides to him.
There’s the King of Soccer, the one who dominates the field, who needs to do things on his own, even if it means becoming the villain of the story.
And there’s the Shoei you’ve gotten to know in all the moments he isn’t playing. A perfectionist. A heart with so many walls up, Fort Knox would be proud. A boy who didn’t believe love could be for him until it fell into his lap.
-
“We can’t tell anyone that we’re dating,” he announces one Friday afternoon after practice, his hair down for once.
“Okay?” You had expected him to come over, had cleaned the kitchen and prepped the snacks, your favorite cozy blanket already out for a snuggle season.
“I got the spot. For the Olympic team.”
“That’s wonderf-”
“If they know we’re dating they’re not going to ask you to come along.”
You blink. “Why not? It’s not like we can’t work together.”
“I asked if they knew which Manager would be asked to come and Isagi told me that Reia is out because she’s dating one of the players.”
You sigh. “They’re probably not going to ask me anyway. The team has some major games planned and even without you here they will need me.”
“Still,” he pulls you in, an earnest look on his face. “We cannot tell anyone, okay?”
“Fine,” you agree, slinging your arms around him.
-
The letter arrives on Monday, an unassuming white envelope containing the information you’d silently dreaded.
You’re one of the Manager’s called in. You’re going to be flying to Paris with Shoei. Oh, to experience one of the most romantic cities on earth with your partner without letting anyone know that you are, in fact, dating.
At this point, you’d have taken the L of staying back home if it had meant being able to hug him goodbye openly.
-
“What are we going to do about the others?” You ask, phone pressed against your ear as you’re packing your bags. “Half of the team knows we’re dating.”
“I told them to keep it to themselves,” Shoei grunts. “Is my Pajama at your place?”
“Uh, yes, should I pack it for you?”
“I’m coming to fetch it. I’m not sure we’re going to have a chance to switch it.”
You sigh. “I really wish we didn’t have to do that. It feels so dishonest.”
“We can pretend we’re falling in love in Paris.”
“Mhm, because you’re going to be so charming, sweaty, and stressed after practice.”
“You did fall for me like that the first time, so I don’t see why you’re complaining.”
“Meanie,” you stick your tongue out at him even though he can’t see it. He sighs.
For a moment he’s silent too, before he grumbles.
“I’m bringing my stuff. I’m sleeping over tonight.”
-
Somehow you make it through the first day without a slip-up.
Even though Bachira calls you “Missus Barou” - he apologizes immediately for the friendly teasing and you thank the heavens that no one important overheard - and Rin sends you weird looks when you make it a point not to sit next to Shoei during dinner.
But then you’re in your room with the other managers, unable to fall asleep without your goodnight kiss, the cardboard bed not helping the slightest.
“I just… uh… need to pee one last time,” you excuse yourself, wandering out into the dark hallway only to run into Shoei, hair down, scowl on his face.
“Can’t sleep without you,” he mutters and you’re thankful for the darkness allowing you to curl into his embrace.
“This will have to do,” you mutter, kissing him the way you would at home.
-
Practice starts early, despite the jetlag.
At least the breakfast is good - you take one chocolate muffin with you for later, unable to withstand the temptation of baked goods for long - and you’re promised to have the evenings to yourself to sightsee.
Paris is filled with tourist attractions. It wouldn’t be that much of a coincidence to run into Shoei if you’re both out to sightsee, right?
It’s only when he grabs your hand and you flinch away, scared that someone in the crowd could see, you realize just how stressed this situation is making you.
“Hey,” he grabs your hand again. “Please. I need this.”
“I know, I know.” You take a deep breath, try to calm yourself. “I’m just freaking out. What if anyone finds out?”
“You’re here now. They can’t fire you, right?”
You huff. “They might. I’m just a manager.”
“If they fire you, I’ll leave with you,” Barou promises.
Still. You keep PDA to a minimum until you’ve picked a spot for dinner, a table at the back of a cozy little restaurant, your faces hidden from sight.
-
And you might have made it out unscathed, with Shoei’s perfectionism and your anxiety working as a team, if not for your daily goodnight kiss.
The other managers are convinced you’ve got a nervous bladder with how you’re darting out of the room as soon as the lights are out, claiming you need to pee just one last time.
You don’t know what the boys are thinking, what Shoei tells them when he leaves to find you.
All you know is that it feels good to sink into his arms, to kiss him in the darkness where no one can see-
until someone turns on the lights.
You blink against the brightness, still very much clinging to Shoei.
Ego stares back at you, his features unamused as he walks past you toward the men’s bathrooms.
“Use protection,” he drawls out before closing the door behind him.
“Do you think we’re getting fired?” You ask, breathless with fear.
“No,” Shoei grumbles, pulling you closer. “I don’t think he cares.”
-
You don’t sleep much that night, which isn’t ideal because your first match is the very next day.
Not even the chocolate muffin tastes as good as it’s supposed to, anxiety weighing you down.
Shoei takes one look at the shadows under your eyes and marches up to Ego right before training.
“Can we talk for a moment, Coach?”
“No,” Ego drawls lazily. “You need to get ready.”
“About what you saw last night…” You wring your hands, too aware of all the other players listening in.
“Listen,” Ego turns toward the team, addressing all of them at once. “My Diamonds… I don’t care what you do after dark. But if you don’t show up at your best on this field, you’ll be cut from the roster. I don’t have time for lovesick fools.”
A few of them whistle through their teeth, realizing what this must be about.
Shoei glares at them until they stop before marching over until he’s by your side.
“Hear that?” He asks, barely able to contain the satisfied smirk. “You’re safe. I always play at my best.”
“Shut up,” you tell him, trying to sound stern but failing miserably. “You’ll just trip over your own Ego.”
“Never,” he promises, before kissing you, the whistling and whooping players around him be damned.

HIS MINI WORLD
ft: Leon Kennedy x Fem Reader summary: Leon experiencing fatherhood. From the day his little miracle's heart started beating to her first steps. warnings: Mentions of pregnancy, self doubts but overall this is just fluff and nothing more! wc: 1.4k author's note: Hello! This is me once again bringing dad Leon content. The last time I wrote him was for Christmas hehe. I don't really know what I did here since this like a combination between headcanons and mini drabbles but hey, it's something. Anyway, take care!
masterlist
Leon who ever since you announced you were expecting he switched to dad mode. All of his friends needed to know that he was now a father to be. Claire? The first one to know. Chris? He needed to know that he may as well be the godfather of his little blessing.
Leon who was next to you at every ultrasound appointment. He couldn't even make out where this little bean was but he already called them the most perfect thing. Because, after all, it's the perfect combination of both of you.
Leon who is the first one to buy parenting books. He often told you not so common facts as he read in the middle of the night. Do you know that babies are born with the ability to swim? He made sure to tell you even if you were fast asleep.
“Darling…” Leon gently shook you, his voice was hushed yet it was enough to stir you from your sleep and say goodbye to your precious dreams. “Mhm…? What is it?” Being woken up in the middle of the night wasn’t something you were looking for. Especially since you already grew used to Leon’s schedule. However, you tried not to show any signs of grumpiness. “Do you know that our baby can recognize music? So… if we put some headphones on your stomach they might know what we usually listen to!” His voice was barely a whisper but it wasn’t enough to hide his excitement. “Go to sleep Leon…”
Leon who has all the money in the world to buy the most expensive and glamorous crib, yet he wanted to experience how it was to build it. So, he made it from scratch. Of course, with Chris’ help. Even though both of them ended up with splinters in their fingers.
Leon who would rarely argue with you. But when the time comes when you disagree about something and go to bed a bit mad at each other, he would place a hand on your belly as he whispered: I'm mad at you, not at them. Eventually, both of you would forgive each other, even if the argument was just a silly disagreement.
Arguing with Leon was obviously something doomed to happen in your marriage. As much as you wanted it to be peaceful and problem-less, your personalities sometimes crashed. It never led to an actual fight. But Leon was… stubborn, even if he knew you were right, he'd never admit it. So, as you lay on your side hoping that sleep comes faster, you feel a strong and calloused hand over your belly. “I'm not angry at them so this is only fair.” Leon said, rubbing and caressing the skin that was starting to stretch as it gave the baby more space to grow. After a couple of seconds of silence, Leon started to feel guilty for not giving you attention. You were carrying his baby, he couldn’t act this immature. “Sorry…” Leon sheepishly apologized for his previous banter. An argument should never make them go to bed angry at each other. “I'm sorry too.” You finally responded as drowsiness started filling your mind and body.
Leon who responded “I just want them to be healthy,” when someone asked him about his baby. But he was a bit too happy when you announced to him that he was going to be a girl dad. In his mind, he wanted to have two beautiful princesses next to him. And now, heaven is allowing him to achieve his dreams and leave behind his sorrowful previous life.
Leon who may as well go bankrupt since he buys everything he sees at the shop. Tiny pink dresses and teddy bears are his favorite things to buy. His little princess deserves the world, she’s already his whole world.
Leon who would speak to your bump, his words full of promises and wishes for his baby. And even when you were asleep, he would go on for minutes, expecting his little miracle to hear him.
“You will be so loved… Everyone is waiting for you.” He said one night, a hand caressing the side of your belly. “I have already bought so many toys you will be playing with. Daddy loves you so much.”
Leon who has to go on missions, he can’t just quit. But, he keeps a photo of your ultrasound in his wallet, next to yours. A totem of his love, a physical item that reminds him he needs to return home.
“Shit…” He hissed as the nurse helped him sit down on one of the chairs. He had recently just come back from a mission which took a toll on him. It wasn’t especially hard since he had help from his new team, yet he believed his age was starting to show in his body. “Mr. Kennedy, your belongings…” The nurse spoke to him for the first time as she picked up Leon’s jacket which had fallen as he sat down. Leon thanked her before he started searching for something in one of its pockets. For a while, he paid no mind to the nurse ministrations. The alcohol swab stung just a bit as she cleaned an injury on his side. Eventually, he found what he was looking for. He pulled out his wallet and there they were, the photos he always carries with him. A proud smile showed on his face as he was reminded that he had succeeded in another mission which meant Heaven granted him one more day to live. He was alive and ready to continue living..
Leon who would practically faint when you told him the baby was coming, that the time has come. He had previously made scenarios about this situation, thinking that he was prepared but dear God… he wasn’t.
Dad Leon who sobbed when he heard his baby’s cries for the first time. However, this time, those sounds didn’t come from someone who was suffering as he is used to hearing in his line of job. Those cries were the living proof that he was once again, given a second chance in life.
The first one was when you agreed to marry him. He held himself from grabbing his daughter out of the nurse’s arms. It’s not that he didn’t trust the medical team, but he has waited almost 9 months to see, to hold his miracle. And even though a part of him fears that his hands are too stained from his job, from his past, and from the near future, he knows that his and your hands will be the ones guiding your baby.
Dad Leon who doesn't know what to do once you were discharged from the hospital. He couldn't spend one second away from the both of you, always checking if you needed something.
Dad Leon who speaks with his daughter as if she was already a grown-up. Her babbles and his words fill the living room as they both engage in a serious conversation.
“Bwaaah” “Yeah, I get it. But you have to understand my point too. If we increase the price of milk people are going to buy even less. “Bwah…” “No need to get so political, miss. I’m simply offering some feedback about the supply and demand of this product.”
Dad Leon who wears matching outfits with you and his daughter. Is the little one wearing pink today? Guess everyone else will too.
Dad Leon who tries so hard to teach his baby how to say dada. Da-da Da-da, that word is starting to haunt his dreams. However, life works in funny ways since his little one decided that her first world would be “No.”
Dad Leon who is terrified when his daughter starts walking. Those wobbly steps make him have a heart attack each second.
Dad Leon who hates it when his kid falls and cries. He would literally just look the other way for a second and boom, his daughter fell to the ground. Between the sobs of his little one, he could hear how she says she got a boo-boo. God, he hates gravity.
Dad Leon who sometimes cries from happiness. Watching his baby girl grow fills his heart with so much joy and pride. The world was a messed up place but whilst he lives, he’ll make sure that no danger ever comes across you two.

Werewolf landoscar request: both boys being clingy bc you’ve had to be away for a while (maybe in heat?)
Chuffed you’re in your Oscar era xx
-🥀
we don't talk about my oscar era🤠thank you for requesting!🫶🏽
.
It wasn’t your fault you couldn’t join them on the race weekend, it was your work’s fault.
Your boss seemed to have it out for you the day she made the rota and, despite the time off you vividly remember requesting and being approved, your name was on the schedule all weekend with no hope of you switching shifts with one of your colleagues.
The boys had been upset when you told them. Oscar had suggested showing the approved time-off form to your boss in a meeting. Lando had suggested quitting your job and letting them take care of you. You had taken neither boy up on their suggestions because you knew how each option would work out—and it didn’t seem worth the hassle.
However, between work projects and an overbearing boss, you hadn’t really noticed the shift in the boys’ behaviour on the calls.
It seemed normal whenever you managed to call them after your shifts, when they were curled up in bed and ready to go to sleep but stayed up to catch up with you. Lando would ramble away, taking over most of the conversation whilst Oscar was happy to just nod along and pipe in every few minutes. They could fight over who held the phone, who was taking up more of the screen, who got to say goodbye last.
It seemed normal because your boys were always clingy, so the amped up neediness wasn’t easy to spot through a screen.
But when they were back home? It was a whole other story.
You knew they had a late flight out after the race on Sunday. You knew they would be landing early in the morning, that they would probably be home when you woke up. You were looking forward to spending your day off with them after a week of missing your boys.
What you weren’t expecting to wake up in the middle of the night, the first cracks of daylight breaking through the horizon as you heard two voices whispering away to each other.
“Mate, you’re gonna wake her up.”
“Did you just ‘mate’ me?”
“Yeah, dude.”
“Oh my god.”
You blinked a few times, letting your eyes adjust to the darkness in the room before you saw both boys standing at the end of the bed. Their bags were nowhere to be seen—most likely abandoned by the door—and they were dressed in their plane clothes. They both looked exhausted, beyond the kind that you were used to seeing on their faces after races.
This was something else entirely.
“Too late, I’m already awake,” you grumbled, catching both boys’ attention as their heads snapped towards you.
In all honesty, you expected it to play out the way your reunions usually did. Lando would make some snarky comment about how lonely it must have been without them. Oscar would tell you how much he missed you, which would prompt Lando to do the same before he complained about the way Oscar moved too much in his sleep and you weren’t there to ground him like you usually did. And then they would crawl into bed, muttering away promises that they would shower in the morning when you scrunched your nose at the fact they hadn’t even changed.
However, instead of your usual routine, pitiful whines—ones that almost sounded pained—filled the room before both boys were crawling into bed next to you. You barely had a chance to say a word before the heat of two extremely warm bodies were pressed up on either side of you.
Oscar’s hands had already slipped beneath your shirt, pressing against your bare skin before he pulled you closer. Lando’s curls tickled your chin as he nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck, another whine leaving his lips as he tangled his legs between yours.
“Jesus,” you murmured, shifting a little but quickly freezing when both boys whined again. “What’s up with you two?”
“Just missed you,” Oscar mumbled, his lips grazing against your arm as he nuzzled himself closer into your side. “Don’t like it when we’re away from you.”
“And Oscar said no to shifting in the hotel,” Lando added, something like frustration in his voice because you knew his shifted form was a comfort when he was in one of his moods.
“Because you ripped the sheets and pillows last time,” Oscar retorted with a huff, and something about it made you smile as he pressed a kiss to your wrist between his words. “You aren’t careful.”
“Whatever,” Lando grumbled, because he knew Oscar was right.
“You can shift in the morning,” you promised because having them in human form where they already felt like furnaces was bad enough, you couldn’t imagine having a huge wolf curled into your side right now. “Get some sleep first, okay?”
“M’kay,” Lando muttered, already sounding half asleep as he snuggled further into your embrace.
“Love you,” Oscar whispered, quiet and a little doubtful as he tensed beside you. Like he needed to hear it before he could fall asleep.
“I love you too,” you whispered back, letting your hand reach down for his to intertwine your fingers. “Love you both.”

a/n: zayne my boo <3 im sobbing over the fact that the game killed off mc’s grandma and caleb 😭
.
ミ★ Love & Deep Space ミ★
pairing: zayne x fem!reader
warning(s): mentions of death, mentions of the explosion that killed mc’s grandma + childhood best friend (caleb) in game, spoilers(?)
Summary: Ever since that day, you’ve fallen in a deep, dark pit. Why did you have to be the one that they decide to destroy? Why did Caleb and Grandma have to die? Is it your fault they did? Zayne, as your primary care physician and a family friend, is concerned for your well-being.
“Sometimes, a small gesture is all it takes.”
The sound of the news on your TV, the thundering rain outside, the sound of the cars driving by your apartment—it all blurs out as you stared at the TV screen, eyes dead and unfocused on the news of the Wanderers attacking and the explosions. Some 22 casualties, two deaths. Grandma and Caleb. His necklace that you bought him as a goodbye gift when he left for the Aerospace Academy sits beside a picture of you, him, and Grandma on the coffee table, the cheerful smiles making you wished that you could revisit time.
Your apartment, once somewhat organized and clean, is now messy with things being knocked down and dirty dishes long discarded. You stare at the one last thing your Grandma left for you, some..tablet(?) with a final letter on it. You haven’t gotten the energy or the ability to open it. It pains you, seeing that you haven’t visited for so long yet when you do, this was the time her house had to explode right in front of you, flames engulfing the house and the only thing that remained was Caleb’s necklace.
“I miss you, Grandma..” You mumbled to nobody, rubbing the tears threatening to spill out your eyes as you glanced down at the item she left you with. Besides that, a small box of her old recipes of those notecards, and other small things that she had entrusted to you years before.
Around you was your laptop, papers and files on the latest Wanderer attacks around you. Yes, Captain Jenna dismissed you and said that you should take some days off to regain your energy, since you haven’t been getting the sleep or the energy you needed, but you just couldn’t.
Your door opened, yet you didn’t bother to look at who entered. “Still sitting in front of the TV?” A familiar voice spoke out, flipping the light switch on and shutting the door behind him. It was Zayne, a long time family friend and your primary care physician. “You haven’t eaten,” he bluntly says as he sets a bag of food on your table and walked into the kitchen. He bites back a sigh, knowing that you were going through a tough time, and people tended to discard everything and grieve and grieve their hearts out.
“Hello to you too, Zayne,” you replied as you shut off the news and got up off your sofa. You pile up all the papers and files you’ve scattered around and set them on the coffee table before you walk into the kitchen as Zayne is cleaning up your dirty dishes. He checks in on you whenever he’s free or when he’s off his shift. He looks back at you, only making a small hum of acknowledgment before cleaning up your dirty kitchen. You looked terrible—eyes red and puffy from crying, obvious eye bags, and the sparkles from your eyes were gone.
You yawn as you take out a bowl and some utensils for whatever food he brought in for you. You unpacked the bag as he cleaned up the dishes you couldn’t bother doing last week. Potatoes, avocado on the side, tuna salad, salmon and rice you said to yourself as you took out the food that he had carefully backed in those plastic containers for you. Then you took out the last thing. Cookie..dough? He remembered your favorite childhood snack. The kind of cookie dough you liked.
“Your grandma gave me a recipe for the cookie dough. She said that if she couldn’t make it, I should since it lightens your mood,” Zayne says as he puts your clean dishes back into the cabinet. He dries his hand off before walking over to you, watching how you stare at it like a piece of gold. Disbelief and shock were etched on your face.
Zayne puts his hand on your back, soothingly rubbing circles as you opened the container and took a bite. Your eyes almost brimmed with tears again. You could remember how your grandma used to bake in the kitchen and you’d always sneak a bite or two of the cookie dough, no care in the world if you could get salmonella.
“Thank..you, Zayne,” you finally said, turning around tightly hugging him. He was a bit hesitant at first, but he put his hand on your head, massaging your scalp as he looked down at you with a gentle look on his face.
“..You’re welcome. I miss her too.”
Zayne’s eyes looked away at the picture on the counter of your grandma. She didn’t have to go out this way.

Mockingjay
Hi guys!
Sorry for the wait but here is finally the first chapter for the Luna's Hunger Games :)
I don't know for now exactly how I will ends this, but if you have any suggestion please feels free to send them to me, I might take them for the next chapters.
Also a big THANK YOU to @w-owwomen for your help, you are lovely ♥
Please enjoy ♥
TW : Nothing much for now I think, please let me know if you're not ok with it.
Ona was nervous. Fidgeting with her fingers, she looks at the people on the stage as trying to switch the microphone on. She hates this moment every year, the one where they are selected : the next young people to go to the Capitol. And then, they need to fight for their life in the arena.
As she's in the oldest of the selectable population, she's in the front now. Her gaze left the people in front of her to look for her family in the crowd. Their parents aren’t far from her, standing next to her brother. Joan’s name never was raffled, their parents only needing to save one more child to be happy. And now he’s too old to be a part of the Games.
At least, that’s what people in the city say.
They also say that they won’t select a child of one of the best craftsmen of the district. But Ona isn’t stupid and she knows that it has nothing to do with that. Sighing softly, she averts her gaze again when she realizes that her mother is almost crying.
Ona distracts herself as they give their speech and video reminding them why the children must die for the Capitol. Ona hates them. It’s only when they call the name of the male tribute that she listens again.
“Tony Sanchez”
Ona knows him. He's exactly between her and Joan in age and clearly terrified as he manages to walk to the stage and face the crowd. He's more Joan's friend then hers but they'll still talk when he came to their house.
“Alright, thank you, thank you” the presenter says, stopping fake clapping. “Now, the girl!”
Ona looks at the man carrying the pot and at the presenter as she puts her hand in. She takes several seconds to mix the papers, before taking one out. Ona knows before she opens her mouth.
“Ona Batlle”
She can feel the weight of everyone’s gaze on her and it’s possibly weighs heavier on her than the fact that it’s her turn to go face her death. She remembers the first times she was standing here, holding her brother’s arm. He always managed to reassure her, whispering to her that he will take her place if it was needed. But today, he can’t. And Ona probably wouldn’t let him do it.
Ona looks at her family again when she’s up the stairs. Her ears are buzzing, making her unable to hear anything around her. Her mother’s crying, her brother placed an arm around her shoulders. And her dad might pass for impassive, but Ona can see the terror and sadness in his eyes.
After the presentations, Ona and Tony are taken to go to a room to say their goodbye to their family. Ona already knows that room for being here two years ago, saying goodbye to someone she loved. A simple look only informs her that nothing has changed since the last time she came here.
She doesn’t have time to look at it for very long though, the door opens suddenly, letting her family enter the room. She’s almost crushed in her mother’s arms, deeply sobbing. Just a shared look with her father makes her understand that they think the same things. The tributes from district 8, where she comes from, never stay alive for long in the Games. They aren’t prepared for what is happening during the fight, they don’t know how to survive.
Joan seems to think the same, too.
“Take all your classes about survival. Maybe learn to make a fire but don’t do it at night, it will attract your opponents” he says.
Ona nods. She doesn’t need to hear that, she already knows. They had watched the Hunger Games together since they are allowed by their parents.
“Don’t eat something you don’t know and if you have to eat something raw, eat fish not meat yeah?”
“Okay” she says softly, still in her mother’s arms.
She knows that too, but she has the feeling that it helps Joan to say all of this to her. Ona doesn’t want them to cry at her departure. She wants them to stick together. Her family is the thing that helps her survive and be at least a little happy these last few years.
“Are you going to watch me?” she asks anyway.
“Of course we are” her father talks for the first time. “And no matter what Ona, we are proud of you and love you more than anything.”
Her mother cries harder and despite everything, Ona can’t help but smile softly and rolls her eyes. She’s happy to mean so much for her family, but she doesn’t want them to cry.
“I love you too, all of you.” she answers, trying to have a look at her mother’s face.
Someone is suddenly knocking on the door and Ona feels her heartbeat getting faster. Is it already time to say goodbye? But no, it’s only her best friend who came to say goodbye too. She just wanted to give the Batlles’ some time alone.
Aitana takes Ona’s mother place in her arms and hug her so hard that she might break her several ribs.
“She’ll needs all of her body intact” Joan says, with a hint of amusement in his voice.
“Promise you’ll fight to come back” Aitana whispers in her ears.
Their eyes cross when she releases Ona and Ona only nods for an answer. Aitana doesn’t seems to need much, stepping back to let someone else have her place. Her best friend knows what Ona is thinking, their connection never having failed since they met when they were maybe six months old.
Ona loses track of time and soon her parents are talking at Aitana about something. Ona takes advantage, grabbing her brother’s arm.
“If I don’t come back, promise me you’ll take care of them. And of you.”
Her brother frowns and open his mouth to answer something, but Ona cuts him off. She knows that he probably will say not to talk like that, that she has her chances to come back and everything, but that’s not what she needs right now.
“Please.”
They look at each other, Ona’s brown eyes deep in her brother’s blue ones. He finally sighs, putting a hand on her arm.
“I swear. But you have to swear back that you will fight for your life, Ona. You are clever enough to survive. You might not have the strength of a bulldozer, but you are smart, quick and tricky”
“I swear too” Ona answers calmly.
They look at each other for several seconds before Joan nods and takes his little sister in his arms. He wants to say that he’s sorry not to be able to protect her anymore, but he knows that she doesn’t need to hear it to know it.
********
One and a half hours later, she’s in the train taking her to the Capitol. The journey is long, two days and two nights. It will be the first time that Ona will cross another district. It won’t be too long though, because of the length of the district 8. When she enters the train, someone takes her to her room and asks her about her clothes size. She will need to get rid of the ones she’s wearing now and have to wear what they are giving her instead.
Thanks god it wasn’t awful, even if it looks like they are keeping the nice clothes for the TV shows.
She’s sitting in the main room when Tony comes to sit next with her. It’s weird to be face to face with someone who will be your opponent in a few days. He seems unsure too, looking at her from the corner of his eyes.
“You’re little Joan sister, right?” he says finally after many minutes.
He knows who she is, Ona thought. But she takes pity on him, he always been friendly with her when he came to see Joan.
“Yeah” she mumbles. “And you’re Tony.”
“Yeah.”
Awkward.
“So, uh. What were you up to before coming here?” Ona asks.
The possibilities aren’t multiple in the district, but it’s always nice to ask, Ona thinks. Her parents' finances were pretty good. Ona was living with them in a pretty nice apartment in a pretty nice building. She knows it’s not the same for everyone.
“I was working in the Armory with my father” he shrugs.
Ona nods only. What can she answer? The good thing for Tony is that he probably knows about weapons now, unlike her. He doesn’t have time to ask her the question back, before the automatic doors of the wagon opens again.
Ona raises her eyes to look at the woman coming inside. Her long, blond hair looks like they are the softest she has ever seen, and she has to fight the urge to touch it. Her almond eyes are scanning both of them, before she smiles at them.
“Hi. I’m Alexia, I’ll be your advisor during the Games.”
Ona recognizes her. She won the Games five years ago, in an arena with the theme of an island. She was strong and never failed anyone.
“You’re not from district 8” Tony frowns.
Alexia doesn’t have time to answer before Ona speaks for her.
“We don’t have a winner who is still alive” she mumbles, rolling her eyes.
She doesn’t look away when Alexia looks at her, shrugging. Like said before, their district isn’t really lucky in the games. A small smile appears on Alexia’s face and it’s still here when she talks again.
“Ona’s right. That’s why I nominated myself to help you to change that.”
She’s still looking at Ona when she sits down, and the young woman can’t help but look away. She feels like Alexia is scanning her soul with her eyes and it’s quite disturbing. Alexia seems genuinely intrigued by her.
“First, I’ll answer your questions if you have some and then I’ll explain to you what will happen now. You’ll have several classes with options during your training, we can talk and choose which ones are the best for you. I think it’s more important to value your strengths and not try too hard to work on your weaknesses, we don’t have time for that. It’s important to know them, though.”
Ona likes the way Alexia seems to be thinking. She was scared she’d have to face someone who will tell her that she has her chances to win. She knows it’s wrong. She wants someone to help her, and Alexia seems the right person for her.
The three of them spend almost a full hour speaking together. Tony seems a little reluctant to open up to Alexia, which Ona thinks is stupid. She’s here to help. As a result, Alexia decides to talk to Tony one on one first.
“Don’t be shy to use the facilities of the train” Alexia advises her when she leaves the room. “I’ll meet you in your room in around one hour”
Ona decides to explore the train a little more before going back to her bedroom. There aren't a lot of windows on this train, probably to hide the road to the Capitol. Like she would be going back one day.
She passes a room where Peacekeepers are looking at some screens. Ona realizes that some are of places in her district as well as many she doesn’t know. She doesn’t have time to look at it for any longer though, because one of them suddenly sees her and harshly closes the door.
When she comes back in her room, she realizes that a bunch of other clothes are on her bed, neatly folded and ironed. They look nice and Ona carefully puts them in the drawer facing her bed. She then takes a look at the stupidly big bathroom with a bathtub that could probably comfortably fit three people. She decides to refresh herself anyway and when she comes back, changed and showered, Alexia is waiting for her on her bed.
“Oh, sorry” Ona mumbles.
“No problem.”
They look at each other before Alexia nods towards the bed, asking her to take a seat next to her. Ona obliges, sitting cross-legged and grabbing a pillow to hug it without really thinking about it.
“So. You are Ona Batlle, 17, both your parents are alive, same as your big brother.”
She waits for Ona to nod before continuing. Alexia seems to have memorized everything as she is not reading off anything.
“What would you say are your strengths?”
Ona shrugs softly, before remembering what her brother told her. He’s probably right, but she hates talking about herself.
“I can be tricky when I need to, I guess.” she finally answers.
Alexia looks at her with the same scanning-disturbing look that earlier. Ona bites her lip and searches for something else to say, but it’s Alexia that talks first.
“I hated that too, talking about myself. But you have to realize that it will be talking about yourself that will make Capitol and Sponsors love you. They need to see themselves in you. Sure, there will be shy people watching, but shy people won’t get you any bonus.”
Ona nods. Of course, Alexia’s right. The brunette doesn’t usually like when people try to scold her, but Alexia has the ability to make her understand her point without seeming condescending. She likes it. The blonde grabs a pile of paper behind her and gives it to Ona.
“Those are the questions that will help me to understand you better. Please fill them in so I can see how to help you.”
Ona takes them, frowning slightly. Her eyes roam them before she looks at Alexia again. The blonde smiles at her before making herself comfortable against the headboard of the bed. Grabbing the pen hanging on the sheets, Ona starts to answer the questions.
********
The next day, Alexia joins them at breakfast with a plan about the obligatory classes and the optional ones she is advising each of them to attend. A quick look at Tony’s sheets makes Ona realize that they aren’t sharing a lot of them.
“Isn’t it better to stick together at the beginning?” she asks their Mentor.
“It can, but I really think that if you want to work together, it’s better to separate your strengths. And we never know, you can be separated at any point during the Games. It’s important that you can survive alone.”
It’s a polite way to say that they could betray the other at any time, Ona thinks. She looks closer at her sheets, seeing that Alexia added some survival classes like Ona had asked her yesterday.
“I’ll protect Ona at any coast” Tony says, frowning deeply.
Ona raises her eyes on him, surprised and a little uneasy at this statement. She feels Alexia’s quick gaze on her before the blonde talks.
“Great. But she can handle herself and all of the classes will help you both be stronger as individuals.”
She doesn’t add anything while grabbing a plate to put some waffles on it. Ona looks at her sheets again without really seeing them. She’s grateful for Tony’s protection, but doesn’t like being seen as a poor little girl. Sure, she’s may be small and not very muscular, but like Joan said she’s fast. Alexia putted some physical trainings on her timetable, but she doesn’t know what it means exactly.
********
The train ride is a little boring until they pass District 2. The landscapes are way more beautiful than District 8 which is not surprising. Ona feels impressed by the mountains and the small villages with beautiful small houses. It is nothing like the endless buildings in District 8.
“Oh sorry” Ona says as she enters the TV room.
She wasn’t expecting Alexia to be here, looking at the black screen. The blonde turns her head to look at her but smiles, gesturing for Ona to come to sit next to her.
“The train is for everyone” she shrugs. “Do you want to watch TV?”
“I never managed to turn it on…” Ona blushes.
Alexia smiles but doesn’t say anything, grabbing the remotes to turn it on. Ona frowns when she sees a seaside landscape in front of her eyes.
“It’s District 4” Alexia comments.
Ona nods softly, looking at Alexia from the corner of her eyes. She likes her, in a friendly way. She loves her brother with all her heart, but if she had to choose a big sister, she would have picked one like Alexia.
“You are from District 10, right?” Ona asks softly, scared to cross a line.
But Alexia just nods, switching the channel to find a beautiful forest. Once again, very differently of her district where you have to fight to be able to see something green.
“What does it looks like?”
“Like this”
Alexia switches the channel again. It now shows a landscape with a lot of mountains and canyons, beige and red rocks. And in the distance, you can see the sea. The kind of thing Ona only saw in books when she was younger.
“It looks beautiful” Ona finally says.
“It is. It’s very warm though, I miss the sun when I’m in the Capitol. I live near the sea, with my Mom and my sister.”
“What about your father?” Ona asks.
“He’s dead.”
“Oh, I’m sorry”
She’s a little surprised by Alexia’s blunt answer. She looks carefully at her mentor, but she doesn’t seem mad. She’s not smiling of course, but her gaze is still inviting discussion.
“Don’t be. It was several years ago. He was sick. It was awful of course, but I try to do things for him now. I just hope he’s proud of me.”
“I’m sure he is.”
It’s maybe top direct, but Ona can’t imagine a parent who will not be proud of Alexia. Her answer makes Alexia smile though.
“Thanks.”
“So you are living with your mother and sister?”
“No, I’m living with my girlfriend actually.”
Her answer makes Ona almost jump. Homosexuality isn’t a thing that is appreciated in Panem. People usually hide it or get married to save appearances. Alexia’s smile gets wider this time, unable to hide her amusement.
“What? Don’t tell me you’re homophobic?”
There’s a mix of teasing and sincerity in Alexia’s voice. Ona blushes, but probably not for the reasons Alexia thinks.
“No, I… Quite the contrary actually.”
“Oh, so you have a girlfriend too?”
Ona bites her lip and shakes her head. No, she doesn’t have a girlfriend, but she doesn’t know how to explain things to Alexia. She doesn’t know if she wants to, to be honest. But she feels like she can trust Alexia, which is strange. Because except for her family and Aitana, she doesn’t trust anyone.
“I had one” Ona whispers.
“What happened?”
Alexia’s tone is the same as Ona’s, like she understands that it’s a sensitive subject for the younger girl. Ona takes a big breath before starting to talk again.
“Do you remember Jana Fernández? She was a tribute two years ago for my District. She was 15 at the time.”
“I do” Alexia only says.
“It was her. My girlfriend.”
“Oh. I’m sorry.”
Ona shrugs but doesn’t add anything. She doesn’t talk about Jana to anyone, even if her family knew at the time the nature of the relationship between her and Jana. Her parents and her brother have always been supportive about her sexuality and her choice. Her father said that he will love her no matter what and will crush anyone who will try to put a finger on her. She always felt safe with her family.
“I knew she only had a small chance, but it’s still hurt” Ona mumbles after a silence.
She’s not looking at Alexia, so she doesn’t see the sad smile on the blonde’s face. She’s surprised when she feels the other girl place an arm around her shoulders to hug her but she relaxes quickly, after the surprise has passed.
“It’s hard to live after the loss of someone you loved” Alexia says, waiting for Ona to hums before talking again. “I really think you never heal from it. You just learn to live with that part of you.”
“That’s right. I know she would have wanted for me to continue and maybe move on, but I can’t.”
“Maybe you haven’t found the right girl for now”
Ona shrugs once again, she doesn’t really know. And even if Alexia is right, it’s too late for her now. Her life is almost over.
They don’t say anything else, just looking silently at the different landscapes on TV. Alexia needs to answer a call at some point, so Ona goes back to her room to take a big, long, hot bath. Something she hasn't had a lot in her life. After that, she went to eat something with Tony and the team but left early to go to bed. The talk she had with Alexia exhausted her.
********
“Ona, come look at it!”
Ona groans when Tony calls her. She was all comfy, reading on the couch but stands anyway, joining him at the window. Ona realizes here that they are arriving at the Capitol and the view is like nothing she has ever seen in person before. Of course, she’s seen it on TV during previous Games, but it has nothing to do with being here in real life.
“It’s massive” she finally says.
Alexia hums, bored, from the couch where she was still sitting, leafing through a magazine. But Ona doesn’t look at her, captivated by the city in front of her eyes. Everything is shiny and bright.
They finally arrive at the train station and Ona wasn’t expecting people to come to see them but the crowd is massive and she lets Tony guides her with an hand on her back. They follow the Peacekeepers taking them to a white vehicle with no drivers. The tinted windows offer them the possibility to look without being gawked at.
“What’s now?” Ona asks Alexia.
“We will go to our rooms, then I’ll show you the other contestants. The training starts tomorrow.”
Ona nods, swallowing with difficulty. She still can’t believe that everything is really happening, that she’s slowly but surely preparing for her death. Breathing suddenly becomes shallow, so she tries to distract herself by looking by the windows. There is now way that she is having a panic attack right now.
Alexia’s comforting hand on her arm makes her jump, but she soon relaxes herself into her. Ona looks at the blonde from the corner of her eyes, but Alexia isn’t looking at her. She’s looking outside, but it’s better for Ona like this.
When they arrive at the place where they will stay, Ona’s mind almost explodes once again. Everything is so big and stupidly fancy. It makes her angry when she remembers that people almost die from hunger outside the Capitol. But she says nothing, she doesn’t know if the other members of the team are thinking like Alexia.
Ona’s room is big, with a double big bed. She has a TV, a drawer full of clothes and a proper bathroom that’s even bigger than the ones she had on the train. There are a lot of bottles of shampoo, shower gel and all different kinds of products for her skin and her hair.
“At least I’ll die pretty” Ona grumbles.
“The point is to stay alive, actually”
Ona jumps, hitting her knee on the furniture next to her. She wasn’t expecting someone to be here with her. She turns around to face another girl, brunette with a cocky smile.
“Hi. I’m Leila. I’m your fashion designer.”
“Oh. Hi.”
Leila doesn’t seem surprised by Ona’s lack of dynamic, she might be used. Fashion is never a thing usually in the District and for Ona too. Even if her parents works on that area, they work for the Capitol, not the Districts. They only are authorized to wear what the Capitol lets them.
“Alexia needs you in the living room. You will see your contestants and after that I’ll show you what I designed for you to wear for the different events before the Games.”
They were going to the living room while talking and Ona frowns when she hears that.
“What different moments?”
“Well the interviews on TV and the parade especially.”
Ona answers with a soft groan, not really fond of that kind of thing. She hates being in front of everyone. Leila seems to find this reaction funny based on her smile, but Ona doesn’t comment on it and lets herself fall onto the couch next to Tony. Alexia was standing next to the TV with a remote in her hand.
“Right, so as you already know, we have twelve Districts fighting during the Games. The districts 1, 2 and 4 are the career districts and of course they are the most talented and prepared for the Games. They will be tough opponents.”
“So it's probably best to have an alliance with one of them, right?” Tony asks.
Ona rolls her eyes and Alexia sees her gesture, making her smile softly. Tony doesn’t though and he keeps looking at Alexia with intensity.
“Maybe” Alexia finally answers. “But they don’t need you, unless you have a special something. They usually make an alliance between them.”
Tony nods and Alexia puts her attention back on the screen. She presses the buttons to present each tribute from each Districts. First the boy, then the girl. Ona looks at Alexia presenting the twins of 1, the psychopaths of 2 and the Nerds of 3.
“Now from District 4. Declan Smith. He seems pretty fast, and his father is one of the best fishermen from the District. He probably knows how to craft some interesting things, and of course fishing.”
Ona looks at him, he might be 18 or maybe 17, but clearly not younger. He could easily pass for someone older than 18 though. Alexia clicks on the remote again and a picture of a girl appears on the screen.
“Lucy Bronze. She’s Jorge Bronze’s little sister, the winner of the Games two years ago. If she’s like him, she’s a great fighter. Very strategic, isn’t afraid of a phsyical fight but clever enough to know when to hide.”
There is a moment of silence while they all look at her picture.
“She seems… impressive” Tony finally says.
It caught Ona by surprise, because she almost adds “beautiful” to Tony’s sentence. Her face card has probably never declined. She has beautiful green eyes; brown hair and her face is pretty even if she’s not smiling in this picture. Her muscles seem pretty impressive too.
Ona is so surprised at attraction to the girl in the picture that she isn’t really following what Alexia says after that. She just pouts a little bit at her picture, thinking they could have chosen another one. This one isn’t really pretty.
When she goes to bed several hours after that, she is still thinking about Lucy and it was really annoying her. She doesn’t even know the girl, why is she having such an impact on her? She’s almost eager for the training from tomorrow, where she will probably meet her and see how unbearable she is to help her to get over it.

*・゜゚・* high key just procrastinating my essay but…*・゜゚・*
sejanus plinth as your oblivious bestfriend
- this man is minding his own business too hard, like, doesn’t even take the fact you might like him as more then a friend as an option because he figured if it was, something would’ve happened by now (he’s deathly afraid of rejection)
- literally so happy to spend his entire life doting on you even if it’s just as your best friend
- you will literally walk around the academy holding his hand and press kisses to his cheek or forehead everytime you have to part ways and this man still thinks you’re ‘just friends’
- literally so beyond shocked when Coryo asks if the two of you are together and hits him with ten thousand questions about why he thought that
‘what do you mean, Coryo? Why would you think we’re together?’ Sejanus’s whole face had paled and his sandwich was getting crushed in his hand. What had Coryo seen that he hadn’t? Surely if anyone was going to notice something about you, it would be him, not Coriolanus.
‘they kissed you goodbye, Sejanus.’ Coryo scoffed, eyes rolling at his friends frantic behaviour. And they definitely don’t do that for anyone else.’ Sejanus wanted to ask if Coryo was sure, but he couldn’t get the words out without becoming a stuttering mess. He’d never thought about it that way befriend.
- spends months waiting for you to reach for his hand before he takes initiative and does it for himself the first time, and you totally freak but are super good at hiding it. Sejanus just takes this as he was right you were only being friendly.
- Coryo starts getting more and more sick of it, and finally decided to intervene by concocting a plan that would make even the shyest and sweetest of people (Sejanus) confess
“but I don’t get why.” you stressed, not really understanding coryo’s ‘plan’ that was supposedly going to push you and Sejanus together. it made enough sense but you weren’t sure it would actually help anything, not when you weren’t going to get anywhere when Sejanus only liked you as a friend. “if you want me to kiss you goodbye as well Coryo, you could’ve just asked.”
“it’s not about that, what I’m trying to say-“ Coriolanus didn’t have time to finish his works as he noticed Sejanus coming around the corner and into the corridor the two of you were stood in. “Kiss me, kiss me now, quick.”
more then anything, you wanted to be with Sejanus, and if Coriolanus truly thought this would make that happen, then you were willing to give it a try. Leaning up onto the tips of your toes, you pressed a long kiss to his cheek, making sure Sejanus had seen it before you pulled away. The second your lips left his cheek, he ducked his head and forced a blush to his face, hoping it would make Sejanus jealous enough that he would act on his feelings. However, Sejanus never said a thing, instead giving a pointed glare to Coriolanus and grabbing your hand tightly, pulling you away from the scene of the crime. As you turned to look back at Coryo in confusion, he simply gave you two thumbs up and a wicked grin.
- after Sejanus sees you press a kiss to Coriolanus’s cheek when you’d never done that for anyone else but him, some kind of switch inside of him had flipped
- low-key made him realise he’d never felt like this before and that he definitely saw you as more then just his friend (but had no clue how to go about telling you that)
- so he continued holding your hands and accepting your cheek kisses but now he felt more confident returning them.
“okay, I’ll see you later.” Sejanus had pressed a fleeting kiss to your cheek then turned and left the lunch table without another word, mainly in an effort to hide his flushed face but also incase your reaction was not what he’d predicted.
Coriolanus let out a loud laugh as he looked at the scene before him, your hand ghosting over where he’d just planted a kiss on you and a star struck look in your eyes. “Sejanus just kissed you.”
“Sejanus just kissed me.” You repeated in a far off, airy voice, a bright smile curling on your lips. “Sejanus just kissed me!”
- things only continued to escalate from there
- and since you were now certain he returned your feelings, you knew the only way you’d be able to make him understand was to be completely straight forward with it (because anything otherwise would just go over his head)
- it’s a gloomy, winter, Monday morning when it happens
you march through the doors of the academy, standing tall and proud with the confidence that what you’re about to do is going to give you the one thing you’d only ever dreamed about. it helps that your pretty sure things are going to work out in your favour too.
you walk straight past everyone from you classes, ignoring calls of you name from classmates in search of homework answers and a particularly belligerent Felix Ravenstill, who you’re pretty sure is trying to ask you to be his date for the winter formal. no one mattered right now except Sejanus. But then again, when had they ever? So, you aimed straight for him, not noticing the way Coriolanus seemed to try and ask you something as you approached the two, only taking in Sejanus who turned around to face you with a bright smile and a loving, “Good morning!”
“Good morning.” You replied closing all distance between you as you cradled his face between your hands and brought his lips to yours in a kiss. Sejanus takes a long moment before he begins to reciprocate the kiss, but when he does he drops his note books to the floor in favour of gripping onto your waist and kissing you back harder.
When you finally pull away from him, Sejanus looks totally frazzled - hair mused and lips red, face flushed and a smile so wide that his cheeks hold deeper dimples than usual. “What was that for?” Half the academy is currently staring at the two of you but this time Sejanus doesn’t have the mind to care. “I don’t get-“
“I like you, so, so much.” You tongue darted out across your lips for a fraction of a second but it was enough for Sejanus to find his gaze upon your lips once more. He could lean forward and kiss you once again but he wanted to listen to what you had to say - he figured he’d quite like it. “I want to be yours, if you’ll have me.”
Sejanus doesn’t know the word for it right then and there but it’s love that he feels for you, and that he will feel for you until his very dying breath. “Without a single doubt I am yours.” He answers, leaning in to try and kiss you again, though you pulled away as he moved in trying to meet his eyes. “I already have been for a long time.”
you let him kiss you when he leans in again.
- if Coriolanus had been annoyed by you and Sejanus dancing around eachother, he found himself even more annoyed now that you two were actually together
- somehow more handholding and kisses then before??? and you won’t leave each other alone???
- previously, if you had a class Sejanus didn’t, you’d leave him with a kiss goodbye in the canteen, but now that you were together, Sejanus would spring out of his seat the second he noticed you were grabbing your things, barely saying goodbye to Coryo as he took your hand and offered to walk you to your class
- Coryo was definitely jealous he was third wheeling so much harder then before (though jealous of who, he couldn’t decide) but was glad he didn’t have to deal with the two of you being in denial at least
An: hope you enjoyed!! If even a single person wants me to write Sejanus as your oblivious boyfriend I will <33

These Destined Ends
Part Twelve
Summary: Jessica fulfilled the wishes of the Bene Gesserits to produce a daughter. You’re now burdened with the task of not only marrying the na-Baron, but also bearing his child — the Kwisatz Haderach. Will you take your fate into your own hands? Or will it always belong to those who control you?
Pairings: Feyd-Rautha x F!Reader
Word Count: 3.5k
Warnings: goodbye to Giedi Prime, no foreplay, fucking with ✨a view✨
A/N: I was planning on making this a long(er) installment but my monkey brain needs the instant gratification of updating the story😂 Hopefully Part Thirteen will be up soon, too. Thank you for being patient with me!
Amongst the hustle and bustle of moving, servants rushing in and out with your belongings and Feyd barking out orders, you kneel down next to the synthetic plant. You check twice that no one is paying attention to you before reaching inside, running your fingers along the inner lip of the pot and past clumps of fake dirt. Finally you connect with something and a triumphant fissure erupts in you at the sight of the fertility necklace.
You clutch it in your hand.
While you don’t intend to use it, it’s the last link to your mother that you have. You can’t believe you almost forgot it — it seems like a small eternity since your wedding. You had almost completely wiped it from your memory since you hid it, remembering only because Jessica and the Bene Gesserits were at the forefront of your mind.
You drop the necklace into a pocket of your dress before anyone sees it.
“Do you know what today is, wife?”
You catch Feyd loping towards you, seemingly having forfeited his supervising responsibilities.
“Mm, the day we get a lovely chat with the Reverend Mother?” You ask, distracted by the weight of the necklace.
“Surely you haven’t forgotten.”
You blink, then center your focus on him, on the fleeting look of smugness he has. “It’s today.”
Feyd’s eyes glint. He pounds his fist to his chest three times, drawing the attention of the servants who stop what they’re doing and straighten in response. You wave them away, grabbing your husband by the crook of his elbow and pulling him into the corner.
“Must you insist on doing that so often?” You chide him. “We would already be on Arrakis if they didn’t have to keep pausing for you.”
The grin on his face tells you that he is not even the slightest bit apologetic. “Can I not dedicate servitude to my wife on our anniversary?”
“Our anniversary of one month,” you remind him.
“A perfect opportunity to laud you.”
“You can laud yourself over there to help that poor man.” You indicate a servant struggling with a particularly heavy trunk of belongings.
Feyd narrows his eyes. “He’s fine.”
“Feyd-Rautha.”
Your husband considers your tone, then turns and delivers another three-strike salute to his chest. He’s darting away before you can reprimand him for it, snarling for a second servant to help with the heavy lifting instead of himself.
Shaking your head, you can’t but smile privately. It warms you to see Feyd like this, the charismatic, alluring side of him that you so rarely glimpse. He usually deploys it in political situations, a switch that he can flick on at will, but it seems genuine today. Perhaps the anniversary of your wedding has lifted his mood in light of his brother’s engagement.
Either that, or the fact that the first step of your plan would be initiated today.
You liked to believe it was the latter.
It’s midday before you’re called to receive the Reverend Mother, and sweat beads between your shoulder blades. To calm your pounding heart, you think of Caladan: the spray of the sea against the rocky crags, the rare peal of your mother’s laughter, and how it all had been stolen from you by those like the Baron and the Reverend Mother. People who thought their agenda more important than the lives of those carrying it out for them.
Your vengeance keeps you sharp, your smile like a knife as you approach the Reverend Mother.
“Thank you for meeting with me earlier than we planned,” you greet her.
She replies, “You said it was urgent, though I sense that, once again, your womb is empty.”
“Yes,” you say, stifling the urge to choke her with those stupid chains. Hopefully the saccharine tone of your voice does not betray your inner thoughts. “I called you here for a related reason.”
“And what might that be?”
“You were wrong about Feyd-Rautha.”
The Reverend Mother visibly recoils. “Tell me what’s on your mind now, girl, I do not have the time for your vague accusations.”
“How do you truly know that he’s destined to sire the Kwisatz Haderach? He is…unpredictable,” you say. “Perhaps your calculations are wrong. It could explain why I am not yet pregnant.”
“Does he know you voice this concerns?” The Reverend Mother asks with a sniff.
Your lips press together. “Of course not.”
“Keep it that way. Feyd-Rautha is just as destined to sure the Kwisatz Haderach as you are to bear it from your womb.” You can feel her scrutiny from under her decorated veil. “You were defiant before about your arrangement. Why are you questioning his authenticity now?”
“As you remember, you assessed me under the Gom Jabbar. Feyd-Rautha has had no such assessment. What if he were to fail?”
The Reverend Mother considers this. “You suggest that we test him.”
“Yes.”
“Do you believe him likely to succumb?”
“I don’t know what I believe,” you reply, “only that his capabilities have not been proven by your standards.”
“You speak as if this is an oversight on our part,” the Reverend Mother says, rising to her feet. A bolt of uncertainty shoots through you.
“I mean no offense. I am simply voicing my concerns, as you said.”
“You leave soon for Arrakis?”
“In a few hours.” You try to look sheepish. “You can see why I demanded urgency.”
The Reverend Mother doesn’t immediately reply. You’re not sure what she sees when she gazes upon you. When she finally does speak, her voice is begrudging: “I shall see that Feyd-Rautha is tested by the Gom Jabbar, though I hardly think it necessary to facilitate now.”
“But what if he fails? I am wasting my time with him,” you counter, perhaps too quickly.
The Reverend Mother must mistake the haste in your voice for panic. “I will visit you on Arrakis in one week. We shall test him then.”
You dip your chin, acquiescent. “Thank you, Reverend Mother.”
The Reverend Mother has no sooner left before Asha scurries to you, her eyes wide. “I overheard everything. It won’t be ready by then.”
“It has to be.”
After your disconcerting dinner with the Baron, you made it your top priority to mend things with Asha. Albeit, less messy than your reunion with Feyd. Asha was only too quick to forgive you and gush her own apologies, which you reassured were not necessary. You had explained to her the plan you created with your husband that very night, while lying side by side in bed, voices whispered, his fingers dragging across your skin.
You had uttered plans to destroy his family like they were sonnets of a poem, threaded with love and unwavering devotion.
Asha, of course, eagerly agreed to assist you with the plan.
“These things, it takes time, and without having an actual reference —”
You lower your voice as not to be heard by anyone lingering nearby. “Tell them I will double their pay. It must be delivered to me on Arrakis in a week’s time.”
“Okay.” Asha hardly looks convinced.
“The promise of coin is an excellent tonic for idleness,” you say. You allow a small smile. “I wish it would change your mind.”
You had invited Asha to join you on Arrakis but she had swiftly declined, ever after you swore a higher salary. You would do anything to guarantee her company.
“I belong here, Y/N,” Asha says, “I know it must be difficult to believe. I imagine you felt the same about Caladan.”
You stiffen slowly. Oh, how lovely it must be to make your own decisions and live where you choose. Subconsciously, you know you could order her to join you and she would have no choice but to say yes. But you would not sacrifice her happiness for your own. “I understand.”
“Are you…disappointed?”
Feyd glances at you. You both stand in the whirl of a thopter’s wings, the force of it billowing your skirts and the red scarf you’ve draped over your head and shoulders in preparation for Arrakis. Your hand sits on your forehead like a shield for the sun — the last time you would see it, a dark, unblinking eye in the white sky.
The light casts Feyd in sharp contrast.
“What do you mean?” He asks.
“This…is your home,” you say, “will you not miss it?”
As if prompted by your question, he surveys the barren landscape, factories belching smoke in the distance as servants finish preparing your things for space flight. You think that he might not answer when he eventually says, “This place has always been more prison than home. I will be glad to rid myself of it.”
You want to reach out and grab his hand, but it feels wrong in this instance, when you wear your mantles of na-Baron and na-Baroness like armor.
Instead, you take to inspecting the same land that your husband does. You can’t even imagine the horrors he’s experienced here. And, unlike you, with your life scattered across several planets, Feyd had only known Giedi Prime — its cruelty and hardships and penchant for violence.
Though Arrakis is hardly a paradise, you hope he will find reprieve there.
“I can’t believe I’m going back,” you mutter. Your throat thickens. “And my parents won’t be there. I…I didn’t imagine it would be like this.”
“A soldier who dies in battle holding a weapon is guaranteed a place in the Heavens. If they were anything like you, they died fighting.”
You smile, blinking appreciatively at him. “I didn’t know you were religious, Feyd-Rautha.”
“I have little care for the Orange Catholic Bible. But there is comfort in knowing that there might be sanctuary for those who have spent their lives in battle.”
“Like you?”
You’re not sure what prompts you to ask it, but he turns sharply to regard you. His eyes scan your face, then the slightest of smiles graces his lips. “I’m afraid that there is no sanctuary for someone like me, jewel, but you’ve certainly ruined me by giving me a taste.”
Your chest tightens with emotion. You want to respond but it’s then that you’re beckoned over to the thopter. Feyd’s gaze flickers behind you and the moment is lost. “Be quick, wife.”
Be quick?
A pair of arms circle around you, making stumble. You automatically lean into their embrace while Feyd retreats to give you time to say goodbye, though you hardly notice with the tears springing to your eyes and blurring your vision.
You’re loathe to leave Asha here. She clings to you tightly, and you know that she wishes it could be different.
“You will come visit,” you tell her fiercely.
Asha withdraws an inch. “Of course.”
“And you will send me monthly — no, weekly updates.” You give her a stern look. “You will spare no details. I command you as your na-Baroness.”
“I suppose I have no choice then.”
You grin at her. “No you do not.”
Asha draws you in again, then whispers, “Your promise of coin worked.” She recovers, saying louder, “Now go. The na-Baron looks anxious for you to join him.”
“Thank you, Asha. For everything. You are my dearest friend.”
Asha offers you one last smile then bows to you. Aware that half of the fortress is watching, you spin on your heel and make your way to the thopter, to your na-Baron, and to your uncertain future.
“I can’t say it’s good to be back,” you report dryly as the heighliner descends. The expanse of desert stretches out before you, Arrakeen, shield wall visible just on the horizon. It shimmers slightly in the low lighting, duel suns casting a glow as they prepare for nighttime.
You’re escorted by a horde of Harkonnen soldiers in their all-black armor through a crowd of Arrakis natives. The handful of Fremen are easy enough to spot with their blue-on-blue eyes — you think them to be hostile of you, considering your Harkonnen marriage, but most regard you with curiosity. As you pass, you hear a rumbling in the crowd that you catch snippets of:
“…the Holy Mother of the Kwisatz Haderach…”
“I hear she’s no Bene Gesserit witch as they claim.”
“…does she already look pregnant to you?”
It displeases you, these vast speculations, but do your best not to reveal it. The truth of your education is not widely known. You were a shameful blot on the tapestry the Bene Gessrits have woven, and instructed by your mother upon first arrival on Arrakis not to tell anyone.
The prophecy foretold you to be part of the sisterhood, so that was the facade you upheld.
A Fremen woman twists free from the crowd. You’re too stunned to push her away before she lays a hand on your lower abdomen. Her blue-on-blue eyes shine vibrantly.
“I have touched the womb of the Holy Mother,” the woman says in a tremulous voice, “the womb which will bear our sacred Messiah.”
You stare, open-mouthed, as two Harkonnen soldiers grab under her arms and drag her away, still spouting heretics about your womb. The last you see of her is her feet dragging in the sand as she’s sucked into the crowd. Unease travels across your skin like goosebumps despite the stifling heat; you’re grateful to have worn the headscarf, as it hopefully masks your alarm.
“I should’ve had her hands removed for daring to touch you,” Feyd hisses under his breath.
He glowers the remaining way to the Arrakeen palace. It’s difficult to say if any of the remaining Fremen are eager to replicate the scene, but they’re surely discouraged now by your husband.
“That would’ve reflected poorly on us,” you say.
“I don’t care.”
You bump arms with him, stepping closer as not to be overheard. “You cannot blame them for their exuberance. They have been manipulated by the Bene Gesserits for centuries now. They believe our child to be their savior.”
A look of discomfort crosses Feyd’s face but he elects not to respond. Together you’re admitted through the airtight entrance into the palace, which is promptly sealed again. It takes a moment for your eyes to adjust but when they do, you’re rooted to the spot by confusion.
The palace is exactly the same. You’ve memorized it from your long days stuck inside, but the decor and furniture are completely different. You suppose you expected to see it mostly the same, perhaps ransacked or destroyed, a standing tomb from the life before — not this, a space crafted entirely new.
The Harkonnen soldiers dispatch, probably to sweep for spies, leaving you alone with Feyd for the first time since your exchange with the Baron.
Your brows furrow as you say, “I don’t understand.”
“I hope it’s to your approval.”
“You did this?”
“I thought it would make the transition…easier,” he tells you. “Everything that was salvageable has been taken to a storage vault for safe keeping in case you later feel so inclined to see it.”
Gratitude swells inside you. “The entire palace?”
Feyd indicates for you to continue onward. He trails after you as you explore the halls, amusement etched on his face as he observes you peeking into each room for confirmation. It’s only once you’ve reached the bedroom meant for the man and lady of the house that he stops you.
“I’ve deigned to move our personal belongings to the next biggest suite,” he says, “this room is considered off limits.”
Relief washes over you — you won’t have to stay where your parents slept, where your mother would venture nightly from her quarters to slip under the covers with your father. Your throat thickens. “I don’t know what to say.”
“Say nothing.”
His gesture moves you deeply, but it’s hard to miss the streaks of residual lasgun burn marks on the walls, the unfamiliar servants now in your employ. And you’re not sure if it’s your imagination or not but you sense a heaviness within the palace as if the weight of the deaths press on you from all sides.
The intricate care taken to packing your belongings is now undone over the next few hours. At least here everything is in color and there’s a human warmth that was always lacking on Giedi Prime. You sneak glances at Feyd on occasion to gauge his reaction, but he maintains his casual indifference to it all.
It would be impossible to tell if he’s masked his feelings or if he really doesn’t care. Either way, relief loosens your mind when night descends and the servants are sent away to rest, leaving you alone with Feyd. There are no pretenses you need to hold — not that it would matter if you tried. His attention is already fastened to you, analyzing.
“Let me help you out of your dress,” he offers in his rasping voice.
You obey, turning your back to him so that he may untie the laces running up your spine. You suspect that he would normally make quick work of such a task, it’s not like he’s unfamiliar with the process, but his fingers are clumsy, grazing. Feyd crowds close to you, his mouth hovering over the shell of your ear.
“Did everything go as planned?”
You nod, humming. It’s hard not to get distracted with him near you like this. “Yes. She will be here next week to assess you.”
“Perfect.”
“It truly could not have gone better,” you admit to him with a splash of self-satisfaction.
He drops a kiss to your bare shoulder as he eases the dress down over it. “I was talking about you, jewel.”
Twisting, you meet his mouth with yours. Feyd’s hands instantly grab at your waist and spins you the rest of the way until you’re pressed together. You allow the dress to slide down and pool at your feet, which you step out of as Feyd pedals backward, taking you with him. His kiss grows deeper. Attempting to take the lead, you tug him towards the bed, but Feyd has other ideas.
“No, no, come here,” he rasps. Like the tide eroding the sand, you let him guide you to the floor-length window. The glass against your skin is still warm from the twin suns.
“Here?” You gasp into him.
Feyd is too busy discarding his own clothes to answer immediately. “Let all of Arrakis see their na-Baroness,” he murmurs, mouth reuniting with yours with renewed passion.
His touch coasts down your side to your thighs, lifting you so that you can settle your legs around his waist. The vantage point giving your center access to his hardened length. Your body bows in response to him, ribbons of desire reaching out to capture you, binding you to him.
It’s without warning that Feyd drives inside you. He grunts as his cock splits your cunt, walls protesting at his size, the force of his intrusion. You bite down on his shoulder as pain intertwines with pleasure, muffling your cries until his thrusts have thoroughly slickened you. And Feyd never relents, bucking his hips into you with wild enthusiasm.
You’re not sure how it’s possible but every touch — every thrust, every kiss — catapults you to the edge of a precipe from which you willingly step over, languishing in the free fall. Someday you might hit the ground, but that doesn’t frighten you as it should. You would do it over and over again as long as he was the one to bring you there. All things considered, it was his hands pushing you off the ledge, prompting you to fall, to spiral down into the chasm he created — and his hands who ultimately catch you.
Feyd eventually lets you back down on your feet only to twirl you around again. His arms snake around you, hands cupping your breast. You moan as he pinches your nipples, rolls them between his fingers, his breath hot on the side of your neck. Feyd wastes no time returning his cock to your weeping cunt, using his knee to spread apart your legs.
It feels as if you can see all of Arrakis from here as Feyd pummels into you: the cresting desert beyond the city, the shield wall, lights flickering in the distance. You wonder if anyone can see you now, make out your blurred shape high above them getting properly fucked by the man who rules over them. The thought fills you with molten heat, pulsing over you in waves of pleasure as you imagine an audience to your fucking.
Feyd laughs like he knows this. “What shall we say when our people discover their na-Baroness is a whore?”
“It doesn’t matter,” you pant, “you’d kill anyone who even hints at it.”
He snaps his hip to you, grunting in approval.
It’s not long after that he coaxes your final orgasm from you, coming himself soon after. The lights of Arrakeen merge, brighten, as you unravel beneath him; the subsequent bliss of him coating you with his seed. Once he’s wrung his pleasure from you, he pulls you against him, your back flush with his chest. You stay like that for quite some time as you both catch your breath, looking out over the planet you inherited together.
“It’s all ours,” Feyd rasps.
“What an anniversary gift,” you reply, grinning as you watch him in the reflection of the glass.
“If you asked of it I would gift you the entire Known Universe.”
“I know,” you tell him. “Maybe next month.”

Title: Did I save you? ('Cause I know you saved me too)

Summary: When Cas calls on his empty deal, Dean grabs him and won't let go. The Empty takes them both. A few weeks later- after Chuck has been defeated- they return, but while the world's problems may be solved, their own are still waiting for them. And the Empty may have left more of a mark than they realize.
Excerpt: When Dean comes to, the first thing he notices is there's a sense of... wrongness to it. The disconcerting, misaligned feeling he always gets when he switches between realms, like his soul is adapting to the environment on a metaphysical level. It's the same kind of feeling, whether it's Hell or Heaven or Purgatory, whether he's coming or going. The funny thing, though, is there's a kind of... peace beneath it all. There's a panic in his body- in the physical- adrenaline and fear chugging through his veins, his heart beating like a war drum, but in the center of him, deep down in his very soul there's a warmth. A calmness, like he somehow knows, despite his terror, that's he's safe. The next thing he notices, then, is that he's falling, and a second later that he's hitting the ground. It smacks hard against his side- some sort of smooth, flat rock, though he's not going to try to guess what kind until he at least figures out what realm he's in- but there's something soft and warm wrapped around the front of his body, offshoots of it separating his waist from the rock, poking between his legs, going into his shoulder. The sound seems to begin all at once, scuffling and crackling and chanting. A second later, pain- something he'd been blissfully free from just moments before. It feels like he's hit the ground, sure, but there's more than that, layers of agony so deep and so sudden he cries out. His voice only starts halfway through the scream. Finally, light floods his vision; he's suddenly aware his eyes have been open the entire time, unseeing. It's hazy, but he recognizes it regardless- it's the bunker's dungeon. And then he remembers. \*\*Before\*\* "Why does this sound like a goodbye?" It's his voice, but it doesn't feel like it's coming from him. He's floating, somewhere, drifting away from his body. He's watching the scene before him play out, as if he's not a part of it. He's turned away, left it behind, but it still plays out in front of him, unchanged, unaffected. The dread sits heavy, an immutable fact of the universe, yet distant as a dream. "Because it is," Cas says. And then, "I love you." "Don't do this, Cas." The room presses in on him, feeling too small, even before the goo from the Empty begins to drip through the walls, before the door gives way to Billie. Cas' hand has barely touched his shoulder when his body, his whole being, just snaps, moving all at once. He wraps himself around Cas, refuses to let go. Cas tries to push him away, but he doesn't relent, not sure he could if he wanted to. He doesn't want to.

Tommy is a dumbass, but Buck loves him anyways.
Just because it seems warranted on tonight of all nights, I'm sharing a bit of my current WIP. This was all written before tonight's episode, so it doesn't match up with canon.
Subject to change before it gets posted to AO3 because I'm trying this crazy thing where I actually write the whole fic before I start posting chapters.
-------------
Tommy threw the strap of his duffle bag over his shoulder and wearily trudged up the front steps of his house, ready to sleep and wallow for the next two days until it was time to go back on shift.
He went to unlock his front door and paused as the handle turned easily in his hand. He wasn’t the type to forget to lock up and it didn’t look like the door had been forced. He cautiously pushed the door open and eased into the house. He set down his bag carefully and grabbed the baseball bat he kept propped next to the door. (Look, his neighborhood was safe enough, but this was LA and weird shit happened all the time.)
Gripping the baseball bat tightly, Tommy made his way down the front hallway, ear cocked for the noise of intruders. As he approached the living room, the sounds of a baseball game on the tv got louder.
“Goddamit, he was safe,” a familiar voice shouted, and Tommy eased up his grip on the bat. He set it down as he walked into his living room and spotted Eddie stretched out on his couch, a bottle of his beer in hand as he watched the Rangers losing to the Cubs.
“Diaz,” he said, “What the fuck are you doing in my house?”
“Kinard,” Eddie snarked back in return. “Just stopping by to see if you were going senile in your old age. See, my best friend, Buck, you remember him? Came to my house with a hilarious story about you trying to dump him. Given the fact I had to drag you past that jewelry store when you started staring at engagement rings in the window the last time we went out to catch a movie, I find it a little hard to believe.” Eddie took long drink of his beer as he cocked an eyebrow at Tommy.
Tommy huffed and stalked out of the room to go to the kitchen. If he’s going to do this, he’s at least going to have a beer. He yanked open the door of his fridge with a little too much force, knocking a few magnets loose and sending a handful of pictures to drift to the floor. He grabs a beer and sets in on the counter before bending down to pick up the photos.
Evan and him in a beach selfie, a shot of Tommy and Evan on either side of Christopher from the first time Tommy tagged along to the zoo, a photo of the 118 in their Halloween Fest finery and a shot of Tommy swinging Jee around in Bobby and Athena’s backyard. He stacks them neatly and places them next to his beer on the counter.
He wants to put them back up, where they belong. But they don’t really belong there now that he told Evan goodbye. He picks up the stack again and opens the junk drawer. He closes the drawer again and then sets the pile face down to be dealt with later. He grabs his beer and heads back to his living room and his ex-boyfriend’s best friend.
Eddie is still shouting at the tv when he returns. He waits until Tommy sits down next to him to pout, “Where’s my beer?”
“You invited yourself, you can get your own damn beer,” Tommy growls. He makes a point of relaxing back into the couch and keeps his eyes trained on the tv. “How’d you get in anyways?” Tommy would have remembered giving Eddie a key.
“Switched keys with Buck.”
Tommy turns to look at Eddie, confused. “Then how did Evan drive home?”
“Man, other then the key for your house and one for Maddie’s place, 99% of our keys are the same. I have the spare for the Jeep and he has the spare for the truck in case one of us gets locked out.”
Tommy shakes his head at this new revelation. “Anyone ever tell you how weirdly codependent you two are?”
“We are not codependent, we are practical and efficient,” Eddie said in an affronted tone.“Besides, where’s your spare key for the truck?” he asked, his smirk communicating that he already knew the answer.
“With Evan,” Tommy confirmed. “Which means you currently have it. You should give me those keys before you leave.”
“Nope. You’re going to have to talk to Buck if you want your keys back,” Eddie said.
“We could trade, Buck’s house key for mine?” Tommy tried.
“No deal. If Buck doesn’t want you to have a key, he’ll ask for it back. Besides, half of LA has keys to Buck’s place at this point.”
“What?” Tommy said, surprise in his voice.
“Well, dude gets hurt so often and usually doesn’t have a partner to help out so everybody pitches in. Off the top of my head there’s me, Maddie, Bobby, Hen, Chim, Albert, Ravi, May, Chris of course, Carla, and there’s a spare at the firehouse on the master key ring. Oh, and the neighbors across the hall have a key.”
“Why would the neighbors need a key?”
“Buck locked himself out one time taking out the trash on the super’s night off so he asked Rose and Ethel to keep a key just in case. Worked out, because they don’t mind watering his plants when he’s in the hospital for more then a few days.”
“Rose and Ethel? Does he live across the hall from septuagenarians?”
Eddie huffed, “Worse, trust fund babies. But they’re harmless. I’m surprised you haven’t met them yet.”
“Wait, does one of them have a septum piercing and the other one has pink hair?”
“Ironically, Rose is the one with the piercing. Anyways, stop trying to distract me and answer the damn question. What the hell, Kinard?” Eddie speared him with a piercing stare.
“I could kick you out,” Tommy said under his breath, although apparently not quiet enough.
“You could try,” Eddie scoffed.
Tommy side-eyed Eddie. He knew he could take the slighter man, but he also knew he didn’t want to. He wasn’t quite ready to give up on the friendships he’d made or rekindled through his connection to Evan. Sure, Eddie was acting in his role as Evan’s best friend right now, but they had their own relationship.
“Why are you here?” Tommy asked, frustration evident. He hadn’t expected that Eddie would want anything to do with him after he had broken up with Evan and he’d tried to make his peace with that.
“My friend is being a dumbass, where else would I be? Seriously, man, what’s going on?” Eddie asked, and Tommy wants to talk about it, but he can’t trust it will stay between them.
That was always the problem with his friendship with Eddie, it included Evan. He got that they were a package deal, and when he and Evan were good that wasn’t a problem. But now, he couldn’t just unload on Eddie and not expect it to get back to Evan.
“I’m not talking to you about this. I get that you want to help, but this is between me and Evan.” He tried to resist asking, but the curiosity won out. “What did he tell you?”
“Just that you blindsided him and started talking about taking some time apart, that he needed to get out there and explore his “sexuality” and how you didn’t want to hold him back. At least, that’s what I could make out before he doom spiraled and started dissecting the past month to figure out what he had done wrong.” Eddie narrowed his eyes at him. “You know he was expecting you to ask him to move in at that dinner, right?”
And Tommy can see how Evan might have come to that conclusion when he’d asked him over. They’d been together 8 months and Evan spent more nights at Tommy’s then at his own loft. Evan bought groceries and brought them to his house so he could try out new recipes and he’d started hinting about how the backyard was big enough for a dog and Tommy had realized that half the laundry he’d folded last week had belonged to Evan.
And he could see it, his future with Evan. A shared home, a supportive group of family and friends, hosting Thanksgiving because Evan really wants to deep fry a turkey and no one will let him try it at their homes. Marriage and kids and pets and joy. An end to the search, an end to being alone, the beginning of the rest of his life.
And he panicked. Because 8 months ago Evan thought he was straight, he’d never kissed a man other then Tommy and one day he was going to wake up and realize that he settled for the first guy to make a move on him. And then he’d resent Tommy and it would be the beginning of the end.
So instead of asking Evan to move in, he’d sent him away. At least, he’d tried to.
He’d stumbled through a standard break up speech, the kind of thing he’d heard dozens of times during his life. It’s not you, it’s me. This is moving too fast. I think we should take some time apart, explore our options.
And Evan had frowned at him, his brow furrowed as if Tommy was speaking a foreign language. He’d stuttered out a “Wh-what the fuck are you talking about?”midway through Tommy’s speech and then as Tommy kept trying to make him understand he’d started laughing. He’d actually patted the back of Tommy’s hand and said simply “No.”
It had stopped Tommy in his tracks. “No? You can’t refuse a breakup, Evan,” Tommy had said.
“Sure I can. I’m going to go and let you have your ‘time apart’ but this is not finished between us, Kinard.” And then he’d left and apparently headed straight for Eddie.
“Earth to Kinard,” Eddie snarked at him. “You want to spill what’s going through that fat head of yours? Because I, for one, can’t believe you are fumbling this. And I thought Buck was the idiot in your relationship.”
Tommy felt a growl in his chest at the insult to Evan, no matter how lovingly offered. Evan was not an idiot, he was brilliant. He was smart and funny and warm and so open and he was going to destroy him when he left. So Tommy left first.
“Eddie, I mean this with love, but leave it the fuck alone. You can stay if you want, catch the rest of the game but I am not talking about this with you.”
Eddie shrugged, “All right, bro. Just be prepared for your man to go full Buck on you.” He chuckled as he toasted Tommy with the dregs of his beer. He got up to grab another from the kitchen.
“I don’t know what that means,” Tommy yelled after him. “What does that even mean?” he muttered under his breath.

You Live(d) There Too
Author's Note: We're getting angsty😜 Sorry guys I was bored and had some free time. My brain produced this *not proofread* monstrosity.
Summary: You've been left in the dark about the events that led to Spencer's release from prison. When he comes to take you home, you can't find it in yourself to go with him.
Warnings: spencer x reader, BAU-level violence, season 12 spoilers, mentions of kidnapping and weapons, established relationship, angst with no happy ending (sorry)
You stared up at the ceiling, dazed by the events of the day.
One minute, you’d been at Spencer’s apartment. The nurse had come to relieve you. Diana waved you goodbye. You’d gone to work.
The next minute, Diana was gone. The nurse was gone. You couldn’t get ahold of anyone and Luke was dragging you out of Spencer’s place. Penelope begged you to stay in her apartment with your eyes and ears open.
That was twelve hours ago. You’d gotten the sense that her push for vigilance meant bad things were happening. When Luke dropped you off at her place, he’d left you with his gun. You weren’t even sure how to use it, and the weight of it in your hands made you absolutely sick.
You thought about calling, but you knew better. You lay on her bed, listening to every creak in the building. You thought of Diana in her frail state and your eyes watered. You weren’t even sure what someone might want with her.
Spencer would never forgive you for this.
Just as you were about to attempt to call Penelope for news, you heard it. The distinct sound of footsteps outside her door. You sat up on the bed, reaching for the weapon left on the side table.
You stood up from the bed, rounding the corner into her hallway putting you in direct sight of the door. The room was dark, and you could barely make out the shape of the door before you. Your hands trembled as you raised the gun at the doorway, unsure of who might step inside. After a moment, the lock clicked and the door swung open.
A figure loomed in the doorway, the light from the hallway creating a silhouette and obstructing your view of them. You remained silent, still aiming the gun at the intruder. Your eyes adjusted, and you could make out a single arm reaching around the wall for a light switch.
The light filling the room caused you to squint your eyes. You gasped when you regained focus and could make out the man in front of you. “Spencer,” you gasped.
He looked up at you, his appearance disheveled and his eyes wide.
You remembered yourself at that moment and panicked. You dropped the gun, it clattered on the floor as you approached him.
“What are you doing here?” you asked breathlessly. You were sure you must be dreaming, your brain playing some cruel trick on you as it had several times before.
Your eyes connected with his own as tears swam in his vision. “It’s over.” He said it so simply as if it was just a matter of fact. “I’m out.”
“Your mom?” you questioned.
Spencer nodded. “They found her. She’s fine. I’ve checked her into the hospital for the night, just in case the medics missed anything. They’re going to watch her.”
“I don’t understand what’s happening,” you said, shaking your head. “I haven’t been told anything. I’ve been here for hours.” Your whole body was shaking now, the stress and exhaustion of the last day taking over.
You struggled to speak. “Now you’re here. I don’t even know if you’re really here or if this is another dream. I just feel so confused.”
The tears welled up in his eyes began running down his cheeks. Spencer reached an arm out to you, beckoning you to sit down on the couch between the two of you.
You did as directed, and he set himself on the arm of the couch, turning to face you. Your hands trembled as you folded and unfolded them in your lap.
“I will give you answers soon,” Spencer explained, his eyes focused on you. “As soon as we wake up in the morning. I’ll tell you everything. But not tonight. We both have to rest tonight.”
You shook your head again. “Spencer, we have nowhere to go besides here. Your apartment is some crime scene-”
He waved a hand, silencing you. “It’s been processed. Since the case is over we can go back.”
We.
“I don’t-” you sputtered. “Are you sure you want me to go back with you?”
Spencer looked almost offended. “Of course you’re coming back with me, why wouldn’t you? You live there too.”
You looked at the floor, shifting uncomfortably in your seat. You felt his eyes on you, reading you like an open book. A look of realization came over his face.
“You don’t live there anymore, do you?” he asked. Spencer didn’t quite sound hurt, but seemed nearly defeated as his shoulders drooped forward even more.
You sighed and shook your head. “No, since this whole thing started I’ve only stayed intermittently to watch your mom of an evening. I’ve been living in a new apartment across town.”
Spencer stood from the couch, pacing back and forth slowly. “So you don’t want to go back to the apartment with me?” he asked.
You shook your head. “Not really, Spencer. The place just unsettles me at this point.”
He stopped in his tracks, turning to look at you. “You used to say it was your favorite place on earth.”
You shrugged. “Things changed, Spencer. When you went away I felt like someone was always watching me there. Now, after all this, I know I wasn’t totally wrong. Can you blame me for not wanting to return?”
Spencer put his hands to his face, muffling his words. “We’ll work it out. I’ll let the lease run up. We’ll go somewhere else.”
There was an awkward pause.
“You could just come to stay with me,” you offered warily.
He clocked your tone of voice immediately, narrowing his eyes at you. “But you don’t really want that, do you?”
You scoffed in an attempt to hide the truth. “What makes you say that?”
“I’ve been here, in front of you, for the first time in three months without some kind of physical barrier between us and you haven’t so much as attempted to put a hand on me.” He seemed to be growing agitated, his hand fidgeting with the end of his tie.
You couldn't defend yourself. He wasn't wrong. He took your silence as an answer.
“You don’t even want me anymore, do you?” Spencer said quietly.
You flinched at the implication of his words. The tears that had been clouding your vision were streaking down your cheeks now. “No, it's just that - Spencer, it’s been months. I don’t know who you are anymore. I just don't feel comfortable going with you right now.”
Spencer stopped dead in his tracks. You could already feel your guilt seeping in because of your harsh words. His tears were visible as he cleared his throat to limit the crack in his voice when he spoke. “Spencer, I didn’t mean to imply that-”
He shook his head. “I get it. I’ll go.”
Spencer walked briskly towards the door, shoes thumping hard against the wooden floor with each step. He paused in the door frame, turning to look at you once more.
“We will work this out,” he said. For the first time since he arrived, you looked at him. Really looked at him. He offered you a sad smile. “I’m sorry for everything. I’ll make this better for us. I promise.”
He turned away, slipping out the apartment door and shutting it with a firm thud behind him. For the first time in three months, you let yourself utter a broken sob into Penelope’s otherwise quiet apartment.

Eren Boyfriend Headcanons pt 2
Modern Eren headcanons for GNreader, a continuation of pt 1
*** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** ***
Texts you goodnight and good morning without fail, but sometimes the good morning texts come at like 12am bruh
He will buckle your seat belt for you
He will open the door for you and if you forget to buckle right away he'll just tell you to scoot over and do it for you before buckling his own
Thinks it's funny to tighten your hood around your face randomly
Absent-mindingly tracing hearts and shapes on you while cuddling
Will call you brat, which he started as a joke to make fun of Levi and now it is unironically a part of his vocabulary much to his dismay
He thinks you being hangry is the adorable even if you're a total demon because of it, in fact, the meaner you get the cuter because he can just poke all the more fun at you when he buys you food and you immediately switch up all sheepishly (which he also loves)
An extra careful driver with you in the car which can then lead to some road rage towards others who aren't, but it never goes past a mean look, the bird, and a couple insults in the privacy of the car. He also deffo does that hot arm hold to you when he brakes too hard and he'll give a little cheeky smile and apology after
Will play Pokemon Go with you and go on Pokemon Go dates where you guys walk the routes and go on hikes or walks around the city to catch pokemon and he always buys you snacks and lunch/dinner during srry but im still in my pokemon go phase
His favorite pokemon is Psyduck
yknow that video where some womans boyfriend/husband was covering the sharp edge of a table while she was on the verge of bumping into it all distracted?? Yeah, that's him. He will cover corners for you and always makes sure you won't clumsily hurt yourself and will watch your step for you depending on how clumsy you are
but at the same time he is constantly trying to trip you and shoves into you with his whole body while walking and tries to push you into puddles like a child
He is fiercely loyal of all of his loved ones and has/will fight anyone on sight for them, as we all know, but he is also very protective of their dreams
He keeps tracks of all his friends and familys most treasured goals/dreams and behind the scenes he is also helping make them come true if he can and/or congratulating them on their progress that no one else may notice and he even will send related things to them like articles or posts
so naturally, things you're really passionate about he will look into and maybe even get into it too
I feel like his mom would have enrolled Eren and Mikasa as junior life guards, she did amazing and really liked it and Eren had fun and was good but didn't care to do it again. Armin went to the wave/beach every day just to hang out with them still, and sometimes Eren abandoned duty or snuck away during a lesson to pick seashells with him
Speaking of, Eren has a mini seashell collection from him and Armin picking them together. He dates each seashell and has given you a couple that he thought you'd like
Because of the whole lifeguard thing, he knows CPR and some basic first aid and the friend group always goes to him if they need extra medical help and he goes straight into his rare mom mode
Him and Mikasa kissed once in a 7 minutes of heaven game in freshmen year of high school, and afterwards decided they were better as friends and never even told Armin until a drunken night of confessions between the three senior year, the night before graduation
He will and has sacrificed himself in little ways for his friends and family, and would do so in bigger ways if the situation ever called for it
He LOVES kissing you
Kisses every morning, before leaving, coming home, when he's bored, when he's excited, when he's sad, all of it. He could be leaving from the dinner table to go to the bathroom and would still kiss you goodbye
He loves making out with you and puts on a romantic playlist he made when you guys hang out and make out in his car he's so cheesy but in a cool way
He thinks you don't realize it's the same playlist but it only has like six songs that just repeat and you have to wrestle him to make you a partner on the playlist so you could add more
When a song you added comes up he'll stop whatever yall are doing just to tell you it was a good choice lmao
He likes flavored Chapstick, but his favorite is vanilla
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed!!

HAN JISUNG MASTERLIST
MAIN MASTERLIST
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"Welcome back to the 1 o'clock news. We wish we had a more hopeful message today today but the waters are rising, electricity is compromised and people are already dying. We ask you to remain vigilant, take care of yourselves and stay close to your loved ones. The record high tidal waves are en route to South Korea and our beautiful city Seoul and people are saying we could be living in what will be the new Atlantis. It is estimated we have 10 hours left but-"
"Too depressing," Y/N sighed as she flicked through channels. She already knew they didn't have much time left, so waiting and hoping for a news report to tell them the opposite was only hurting her soul even more. There was no time to say goodbye to loved ones, having to prioritise using their remaining electricity towards kitchen appliances to make sure they could eat, their mobiles having already run out of charge and they didn't have a landline.
Oh yeah, they.
Y/N lived with her best friend Jisung in an apartment for the last couple of years, and those years held some of her favourite moments and memories and to think those could all be washed away in the events of the end of the world... it wasn't a nice feeling, not at all. She constantly felt sick to her stomach knowing the impending doom they'd have to face.
"There is a prophecy! It could be one or two of you out there that could save the world!" a whimsical looking man with thick lens glasses perched upon his nose spoke into the camera.
"Oh they're talking nonsense!" Y/N exclaimed, sitting up to grab the TV control again and switch the channel just as Jisung ran in with a bowl of cereal.
"No, no, no, leave it on!" he spoke through a mouthful of cornflakes as he jumped onto the sofa next to her, some milk spilling over but neither of them cared. Trivial issues like that didn't matter anymore.
"Ji, there's no point now anyways, the picture is staticy and the audio is all-" Y/N rolled her eyes before Jisung muffled her mouth with his hand to shut her up, and they both listened to the crazy man on the TV.
"One thing will unlock survival. The key is in a place where many people have come and gone. It lies in a enclosed area that only the bravest can enter. Only those who are worthy can wield it's power and open the gate that knows all, that all know."
"A key?! What could that mean?" Jisung sat forwards intrigued, finally removing his hand from Y/N's mouth who shoved him away from her.
"The prophecy didn't say that we specifically had to find it..." Y/N stood up, taking Jisung's finished bowl of cereal into the kitchen and placing it in the sink.
"Come on, if we can really do something to help, we've got to try," Jisung followed her into the kitchen, tugging her away from the sink to make sure her attention was on him. He bent ever so slightly to make sure she was looking right at him.
"Ji, I don't know about this..." Y/N's seemingly bored and nonchalant manner had quickly reverted to her nervous side.
"And if I'm gonna do this with anyone I'd want it to be you!" Jisung grabbed her arms now, hoping she'd brush away her worries for just once and do this with him, for him, for them.
"Aw Jisung... I can already feel my heart melting," Y/N in fact did brush away her worries, at face value at least, and grinned sarcastically at her best friend. She skipped away from him, gliding gracefully with her hand on her heart before jumping and flopping onto the sofa.
"Gosh, I've melted the Ice Caps! That's the last thing we need with the world flooding..." Jisung dramatically gasped, grabbing a piece of paper with a pen and whacking it on Y/N's head as he sat next to her. She of course, did retaliate with slap on the leg.
"Jisung, shut up."
It almost felt like an endless cycle. Hope, worry, denial, repeat. Y/N hated broadcasts like the one they had just listened to. Anyone would be a fool to actually listen to the words of a so called prophecy and even think of attempting to save the world.
"Right we need to think... enclosed area, only the bravest can enter?" Jisung hummed, tapping the pen against his chin before scribbling down the jist of what had been said on TV.
And that was her fool right there. She loved him for it though.
"Jisung, come on," Y/N sighed, going to grab the notebook away from him but he held it tightly to his chest, wiggling in his seat to face her and sit closer.
"No you come on, work with me here, think, please," Jisung stood his ground firmly, brows furrowed in what could only be described as a pleading, Puss-in-Boots-like expression.
"Fine, fine... It's probably that club down town, what's it called? HooBAEs? No one would dare enter there, awful place, wouldn't mind if it got completely flooded," Y/N thought out loud stretching out and resting her legs on Jisung's lap, who didn't react apart from resting his notes on her calves without batting an eyelid.
"Yeah yeah! That place is horrible, probably is at least halfway ruined by now," he nodded in thought, scribbling down the name of the club.
"Halfway? It was dreadful from the start, remember that time someone pissed onto the floor in the middle of the night," Y/N reminded Jisung of the unfortunate time thet decided to go out on a Saturday night. Never again. They both felt like they much preferred a night in anyways watching crappy movies and making fun of the storylines.
"Oh yeah that was grim..." Jisung nodded, wrinkling his nose just thinking of it.
"Yeah horrible..." Y/N trailed off.
"Y/Nnie you've driven us off topic again."
"No I haven't!"
"What, you think we should try HooBAEs? We'll probably get a disease I don't wanna even think about if we go there..." Jisung shuddered, wishing his best friend never suggested the idea. The end of the world couldn't rely on a key being hidden in such a dodgy establishment, could it?
"Remember the prophecy, Ji, only brave people would go there. As much as I hate to say it, we should go there. We've ventured there before, why not now?" Y/N lifted herself up from the sofa and grabbed the keys to her apartment, stuffing it into the pocket of her hoodie.
"Not the worst idea... might need to put our wellies on though, the water is filling up," Jisung waved her over to stand beside him and observe the outside. She didn't even notice him move towards the tall glass windows of the apartment, but it was the smart thing to do, considering how high the water had already risen.
"Actually, we might need a boat," Y/N breathed out in sudden realisation as she joined his side. The water had risen to around half the height of your average door, from what she tell by squinting at the buildings across the road.
"Shit, you're right," Jisung groaned, hitting his head against her shoulder. Y/N patted his head sympathetically as they both prepared themselves, physically and mentally, to try and save the world.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The pair of courageous best friends were quite the sight to see. As luck would have it, there was a leisure equipment shop across the road, having all sorts of things they could steal because no one was going to work their job when the building was half flooded and when they knew it would soon be the end for everyone. Fortunately, the canoes were quite near the front of the shop, and they, well, Y/N, hauled it off of the rack that was still standing somehow. Jisung was too distracted by the idea of getting an inflatable pool.
"Jisung we don't need a pool! Just jump out this canoe if you want to swim!" you had huffed as you dragged the canoe towards the door as you waded through the water.
"I didn't wanna swim! I wanted to just float around," Jisung moped, doing a weird awkward jog through the murky water trying to catch up to you. The one where the force of the water weighs your legs down so you have to almost jump out slightly each time you take a step.
Once you both made it out of the shop you both clambered into the boat, Jisung taking the back and you sitting at the front. There were of course a few failed attempts of rowing down the road, neither of them having used an oar before. Did it tip over? Yes, it did. But that was because they both started rowing on the same side.
Eventually they did arrive along the top of the street of the notoriously grim club, HooBAEs.
"How do we park a canoe, shit," Y/N wobbled as she stood up, confronted with an odd dilemma she never thought she would be.
"Girl... never mind," Jisung side eyed her in pure disbelief before grabbing her to sit down, it was like she was trying to be a gondolier.
Jisung achieved their goal of not losing their transport, and helped Y/N out after he caught his own balance. He couldn't control the blood from rushing to his cheeks when she didn't let go of his hand, and she even readjusted the grip she held on his hand as they walked inside the club venue.
"Why would there even be a key here? A special key in a prophecy here? Plus it's not exactly an enclosed area..." Jisung gagged at the stench of the place. Bar stools were floating around, turned onto their backs like many people were the last time they both went on a night out here. Guess the pros are of the world ending is that the slippery floor means nothing now that the water is up to just underneath their waists. Wood from the pillars and bar had rotted, splinters of the material floating around in what now looked like a grotty swamp of cheap furniture. And that wasn't the only thing that was floating around.
"Is that a condom?" Y/N shrieked at the plastic floating towards them both, tugging Jisung back, her feet colliding with old music equipment that had long ago blown it's fuse.
"Focus on the issue at hand, Y/N!" Jisung chastised her, yet still allowing her to pull him back with her, not wanting to let go of her hand. Oh, he was so whipped. It was something about the way she matched his energy perfectly, his twin flame, you could say. She never failed to put a smile on his face, those plump lips that he wish he could just-
"Ew it's a used one! Quick, go! Move, Ji!" Y/N squealed in disgust and tugged his hand harder, essentially breaking him out of his thoughts. And with that they left the decrepid place, relieved at the same time.
Being the gentleman he was, Jisung helped her back into the canoe first, and as they rowed away, he gasped in excitement and suddenly started rocking the boat.
"Dude stop this isn't the time for messing around! I don't wanna fall in again," Y/N exclaimed, letting out small murmurs of discomfort and annoyance as she tried to stay sat down.
"Y/Nnie I know it! I know where it could be!" Jisung shouted feeling elated, having his lightbulb moment.
"Enlighten me, oof-" Y/N's voice wobbled as her body did too, before she ended up falling backwards into his lap, the boy automatically latching onto her shoulders to try and stabilise her but they were both already red as tomatoes.
"Umm sorry I-" Jisung stuttered, not knowing whether to let go of Y/N because realistically he wished that such an interaction would never be awkward between them and that he had confessed how he truly felt a long time ago.
"It's fine just umm tell me where you're thinking so we can steer this ship!" Y/N cringed as she spoke through a strained smile, taking her original spot once again. She tried to forget that just happened, because she never thought it would. She never imagined that her heart would race at the sight of his smile, blush from his teasing words or that her nights would be filled with thoughts of what would happen if they ever were a 'thing'. But here they were.
"Please don't say that again."
"Yeah you're right, it was ummm... yeah."
"I mean, I saw where you were going with it but it just didn't really hit-"
"Ok fine! Just tell me where you think the key is! I'm very embarrassed now!" Y/N stammered, staring straight ahead as her hands gripped the sides of the 'ship' as she wished she could rewind and never say what she did. If her thoughts were gonna take her down the route of a 'thing' ever blossoming between them, she could watch that sapling die right in front of her very eyes.
"That big house, on the outskirts of town..." Jisung trailed off, not quite remembering the name of the mansion he was imagining.
"Oddinary House?" Y/N offered weakly, now feeling composed enough to turn back around. As she did so she made sure the oars were resting in place.
"Yes that's the place! All you hear about that place are horror stories!" Jisung nodded enthusiastically when Y/N's words sparked his memory.
"And you think you're brave enough to go there?" she laughed, looking off to the side.
"Hey, this is for the prophecy! We could save this place! This city! Our friends!" Jisung insisted, desperation apparent as he shifted to look right into Y/N's eyes, the jostling causing water to ripple around them.
"Ji... Is it worth it for the prophecy?" Y/N sighed, her minds going off in all different directions, wondering if it was worth it.
"Yes! A chance at life! We need to do this, Y/Nnie," Jisung did his best to convince her, feeling her turmoil and lessening hope as the moments went by, especially when she turned back around to avoid him from seeing the tears that blurred her vision.
"Isn't it all pointless anyways..." she mumbled.
"It's not when I'm with you," Jisung hugged her from behind for a moment, and oddly it felt natural, far less awkward than before. "Now, come on, let's go, or shall I say-"
"If you say let's row then I am tipping over this boat," Y/N chuckled as she sniffed, wiping away her tears.
"Noted. I will not speak in fear of drowning," Jisung spoke robotically, the two of them laughing once more afterwards as they grabbed the oars once more.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
It was a treacherous journey you could say, venturing to the outskirts of the city, but it wasn't hard to see the old worn-down mansion which practically had a storm cloud hovering above it. Oddinary House, in all it's glory.
"What a glorious shithole," Jisung whistled out, eyes trialing across the rotting wood that was barely keeping the place together. It was a surprise his voice was even normal, considering the volumes that the impromptu karaoke session reached between the two of them.
"I know right," Y/N nodded along, squinting when she thought she saw someone floating in the water. They both rowed closer to the entrance of the house, gaining a closer look at the body. "Oh my god!" she gasped, "they're dead!"
"Damn, this place is fucked," Jisung's jaw hung open, even further when the body spoke back to him.
"Isn't it just?"
Jisung and Y/N both yelled out in shock at the person/creature that they thought was dead, suddenly speaking to them with an enticing melodic voice. They should have realised sooner than the swishing back and forth as they floated in the water couldn't have been achieved by a dead person.
"Wait... Oh my... it's the sexy scary siren! The stories were right!" Y/N put two and two together, remembering all the stories she had been told about who lived at the abandoned mansion and she figured out that this was the siren that many had spoken about. His alluring puppy dog eyes and gorgeous smile were just added bonuses to his hypnotising voice.
"Sexy?"
"Sexy..."
Jisung and the siren met eyes as they both spoke aloud at the same time, one of them sounding jealous and the other quite smug.
"Umm, right... Do you have a key?" Jisung abruptly asked, not wanting to waste any time.
"Don't just ask him!" Y/N turned away from the siren and whacked Jisung on the arm, scolding him.
"Well what am I supposed to do?!"
"I don't know introduce ourselves?!"
The siren chuckled as he watched the two humans in the canoe bicker. The back and forth instantly made him think of an old married couple playfully arguing yet they also had this radiant aura around them that could only be seen when they're together.
"Ummm, I'm Y/N and this is my best friend Jisung, please don't kill us, haha," Y/N falsely grinned feeling nervous even though her brain felt comfortable enough to blurt out earlier that she thought the siren in front of her was sexy.
"I'm Seungmin," the siren purred out, pausing in his floating to swim up to the canoe and rest his head against the edge of it. "Now, what's this about a key?" he inquired curiously.
"Did you not see the news?" Jisung huffed, not wanting to go through the prophecy anymore times than Y/N had already made him repeat it, just so that she could 'engrave it into her brain'.
"You really think we get signal out here? And in this climate? Bless your heart," Seungmin patronised Jisung, flicking water up in his face and making the boy squeeze his nose as some droplets has arrived up his nostrils. Incredibly salty water. That made it sting more.
Just then, a beautiful voice broke out, but no, it did not belong to the siren that was right in front of them, no. This voice, was female, and it was coming from above. Looking up at the stained windows of the second floor, and not in a pretty vibrant and colourful way, a figure almost glided down the corridor. They moved slowly, almost allowing for their voice to break out, becoming louder especially when they saw Jisung and Y/N.
"Oh gosh, you really had to set her off... We just got her to keep quiet!" Seungmin exclaims annoyed, a frown taking over his face as he pushes away from the canoe.
"Oh shit is that a banshee?" Y/N gasped, thinking about the newer rumours that had recently come of Oddinary House.
"No she must be the sexy siren you were saying about bestie," Jisung tried craning his neck to get a better look at who was catching his eye.
"No we already established that was me, obviously," Seungmin shouts back at them, before heading round to the other side of the mansion, swimming his way gracefully to the back garden.
"Ugh, Ji, you're getting distracted again," Y/N huffs as she whacks him.
"Hey that was you before!" Jisung folds his arms.
"Blah blah blah, come in, let's head inside," Y/N directs him as they row their boat inside the front doors, arriving into what looked like a reception room. Haggard, is what this place was.
"Hey! Umm, we're looking for a key!" Han dumbly called out.
"Dude ssshh, they could eat us or something," Y/N said feeling paranoid, wrapping her arms around one of Jisung's.
"Nothing will eat us," Jisung rolled his eyes fondly, letting her cling onto him still.
"I could eat you."
Shit. How accurate were these stories? How accurate were they to know that there was also a werewolf living at this mansion?! In fact, said werewolf was currently sat on the staircase, distastefully flicking water out of his fur.
"Please don't," Y/N gasped.
"Please do," Jisung gasped.
Everyone froze, looking back and forth between each other with confusion. You couldn't make this up, what was happening, it was just that bizarre.
"Ji, that's literally a werewolf," Y/N reminded him, pulling away from him as she stared up the creature who was smirking right back at them, one leg folded over the other, a certain smugness about him with his sharp features illuminated by a yellow light.
"Yeah but he's kindaaaa..." Jisung trailed off, scanning the figure.
"Hmm, yeah, I can see it to be fair," Y/N agreed after a few moments.
The werewolf cleared his throat after a few more starry eyes gazes were directed towards him, "if you're looking for a key, you need to find a gate to open."
"Duh! That's why we're looking for a key? Why is bro so cryptic," Han sighed in disappointment, could have been the perfect companion if it wasn't for his obvious remarks.
"Shut up he's helping us," Y/N reprimanded her best friend before trying to read the true thoughts and emotions behind the eyes of the being sat before them. "A gate... hold on, hold on, you know where this key is, don't you! You're gonna send us on a wild goose chase when we could be saving the world?!"
"Oh, haha, aw, how sweet, you think you can save the world? Well in that case... Head upstairs, might wanna avoid the banshee she's been a bit umm, stressed recently you could say... And then find the cyborg, his name is CB97. We used to have him downstairs but you know, water and electrics don't really-"
"Right thanks!" Han rushes past Minho and cuts him off, wading through the water and going up the other set of stairs. "Come on Y/N!"
Y/N really wished she taught him some manners. She had heard from some of his friends that he was a bit of a dick during his younger teen years but when she first met him he was sweet as pie. Well, until they got comfortable with each other and with roasting each other.
"Sorry about him, he's a bit... excitable," Y/N sheepishly walks past the werewolf, doing a weird wave and not turning her back in fear he'd suddenly turn and eat her up.
The pair were wary as they walked the floors upstairs, flinching at every sound until a door opening on its own terrified them.
"Ahhhh!!!"
"Ahhhh!"
"Stop screaming!!!"
"You stop screaming!!"
"Ji, shut up, look he's there, the cyborg," Y/N points to the hunched figure in the corner of the dimly lit room. He was hooked up to some generators, but more importantly, there was a clear box as part of his make, where a human's abs would normally be. And what was inside of that clear box? A golden, shiny key.
"Yes! We found it!!! Oh my gosh we're gonna save the world!" Y/N cheered as she and Jisung jumped up and down in each others arms, hugging tightly and pulling away to stare into each others eyes for a moment.
Jisung was the first to pull away
"Hey umm, Mr Cyborg, Mr CB... my 97 bro... Umm, where do we need to unlock this key?" Jisung waves his hand in front of the barely glowing blue eyes of the machine. After composing herself, Y/N stepped up next to him, also trying to get the cyborg to respond to them.
But it was no luck. The generators sparked as drops of water fell from the ceiling and caused a fuse, making CB97 the cyborg fully shut down, head hanging forwards.
"No, no, shit!" Y/N swore, tapping on the back of the cyborg with such vigor it was like someone was trying to fix an old television.
"Great that was real helpful... Now what are we going to do?!" Jisung stomped his foot, pacing back and forth with his hands on his head.
"Wait, give me a sec," Y/N rolled up her sleeves, ready to bust open the small door on the cyborg's body to retrieve the key. She slowly grabbed it, focusing all her strength on it til it opened all too easy and she went flying backwards and hit the floor with a loud groan.
"Shit, you ok Y/Nnie?" Jisung helped her up, rubbing her head gently and she responded with a nod.
"I'm fine, more than fine actually, I'm great. Look, the key, it's there Jisung!" Y/N dragged him back over to the shut down robot and grabbed the key, sliding it into her pocket and zipping it securely.
"We're actually going to do this... we're going to save the world!" Jisung gasped in disbelief.
They headed back down the corridors, walking down one flight of stairs and passing by a man with fangs peeking out from underneath his upper lip.
"Oh, by the way, your robot man friend went all sleepy mode on us," Y/N casually said, continuing to walk down the stairs alongside he best friend.
"What?!" the man yelled incredulously before morphing into a bat and zooming off upstairs, not before bumping into an old bear statue.
"Eh, not our problem," Jisung rested his hand on Y/N's back as he steered them outside, back to where their canoe was.
Oh how both of them wished that they'd be successful in saving the world, so they could tell the stories of entering the mansion to future generations, to their own kids- wait scrap that last idea, it's not like they'd ever end up together anyways.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Now it was time to trek back into the city. The sun was setting, casting a peachy glow across the faces of the pair. It seemed so scenic, only for it to smell horrendous. Jisung has convinced them to take a 'detour' because he 'knew a shortcut'. He didn't know a shortcut. And because of the route change they were both now forced to deal with the stench of the contents of the city's sewers flooding into the water around them. The putrid eggy smell consumed their lungs, and Y/N was sure she'd never breathe again.
"Smells like you after taco night-" Y/N plugged her nose with one hand as she laughed.
"Oi, Trouble, shut it!" Jisung kicked her bum lightly, trying not to laugh too.
Y/N loved being able to push his buttons, thus gaining her the nickname 'Trouble'. Jisung didn't use it all the time, but on the occasions he did it made her heart swoon. She knew she was getting under his skin and there was something so gratifying about him recognising that when he did use the nickname.
"You shouldn't have made them so spicy," Han pouted after a moment, mind still stuck there whilst Y/N had drifted to her nightly routine, despite it being closer to 6pm.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"I just can't think of where this gate is meant to be," Y/N groaned, looking up at the sky. Her arms were beginning to ache from rowing so Jisung insisted he'd take over to let her rest a bit.
"What did it say again?" Jisung stopped rowing, letting the canoe float.
"Oh come on! You told me I was silly for wanting to remember it off by heart!" Y/N knocked her head against Jisung's leg in protest, causing him to hold her head still as he looked down at her form laying down in the canoe.
"Y/Nnie, just tell me, yeah?" Jisung smiled through gritted teeth.
"Ugh fine, remember, it said a gate that knows all, that all know," Y/N reminded him.
"I just don't get how we're meant to figure that out, out of all the gates in the city how-"
"Jisung we're idiots," Y/N cut him off.
"Speak for yourself!" he huffed. The light in the day would soon be gone and there would be less chance of them completing their goal.
"Nope we're in this together. We're idiots. The city hall? That literally has a big gate and plus no one would really dare to enter there!! The place that knows all, that we all know! It's got to be that right?! All the official governing bodies go there, us common people could never just waltz in." Y/N scrambles up, rambling excitedly as her guess made more and more sense. Jisung had to help her to adjust her balance, and not just because of clumsy self trying to stand in the boat, but because of the waves seemed to be getting harder to handle. Only this morning it had been calmer and as the day went on the ripples turned to smaller waves that would rock the boat. And now they were straight up aggressive.
"But now we can," Jisung dangled the key in his hands.
"Hell yeah!" Y/N cheered with a newfound energy and she grabbed her set of oars.
It wasn't long until they made their way round to the city hall, going round the back of the historic building and finding the tall golden gates guarding an endless flight of stairs. It was said to have led down to an old pipe system that ran underneath the hall and the whole city.
"I wish I thought of this earlier, should have paid more attention in geography," Jisung shook his head regretfully.
"Right, who's going to swim down? Because I'll do this Jisung, I don't mind," Y/N turned to her best friend, gripping his hands tightly with promises exchanged between. The water had now risen further on their journey and if it rose anymore their boat would simply tip over the gates.
"No, I can't just let you do that!" Jisung exclaimed, frowning at the thought of the girl he loved going to do this on her own. It wouldn't feel fair.
"We need someone up here to keep watch of things!" Y/N tried to grab her hands out of Jisung's hold, who was now holding on tighter than ever not wanting to spend a moment without her.
"Watch what? Our city drown even more?!" Jisung cried out exasperatedly.
"No way," Y/N's heart dropped.
"Umm yes way, it's been like that forever!" Jisung grumbled, searching through Y/N's gaze to try and figure out what had really made her feel taken aback.
"No, look!" Y/N's eyes welled up in fear, pure utter fear.
There was a colossal tidal wave heading towards the city, already plummeting through several buildings in the distance and driving them down into the ground, destruction it's friend. Flocks of birds flew high in the sky, squawking as they retreated in fear. If only they were birds who could leave so easily. There only chance was this prophecy, it had to work.
"Oh shit," Y/N was frozen as she shouted loudly.
"Look, we've not got time, we do this together ok, I don't care what happens," Jisung grabbed Y/N's face between his hands, thumbs stroking over the tops.of her cheekbones as he tried to get her to focus.
"What if it doesn't work? This stupid prophecy?! We've got a key but what do we even-" Y/N trembled in Jisung's arms.
"No, no, no, sshh it's ok, Y/N. I got you, yeah? Come on, we need to do this now, ok?" Jisung stood up shakily on the canoe, pulling Y/N up with him.
"Together?" Y/N's voice cracked.
"Yes, we go down, now, at least we've tried," Jisung rested his forehead against hers, before they both jump into the murky waters with an all mighty splash.
It was lucky Jisung had a tight grip on the key as the pair of them rose above the water, took in a deep breath, and with one look to each other they nodded and swam down to the keyhole of the gate together. With all luck, this prophecy would be right. Maybe they'd be able to unlock the gates, allowed the water to flood down into the city's old pipes system and drain it all, so that they'd have at least one chance of survival.
Y/N helped Jisung stay down in the water to try and unlock the gate, as there was nothing to cling onto. He lodged the key into the hole and twisted it to the left, once, twice, thrice. He pushed the gates forwards and they shared a look of success, before it soon turned to dread.
They were expecting an empty staircase, for the water to flood down, but to their horror the pipes system itself has already been overwhelmed with flooding.
In that moment the huge tidal wave that had been hurtling towards the city hit where they were, and they were sucked down into the pipes system from the sheer force of the wave hitting on impact. The current hit them ferociously, dragging the two of them further and further down. There was nowhere to turn to, nowhere to run.
Jisung and Y/N we're freaking out, flailing in the water and trying to swim upwards for air but it was no use. The place was filled to the brim with water and by the time they tried swimming back up the endless amount of stairs, water would start to enter their lungs.
In fact, it already was.
The two heroes gripped onto each other as bubbles appeared in the water in front of them and the oxygen left their body. They were running out of time, something that seemed so precious until their world was doomed. Doomed from the very start. The prophecy lied.
Jisung grabbed Y/N's hands startling her out of her freak out and he rested both of them against his heart. She cried, adding her salty tears to the water they were submerged in, wishing this wasn't how it had to end. It wasn't fair. Why couldn't they have more time to confess? Why couldn't they have had more time to tell each other how they truly felt?!
He moved his hands to her face, holding her so delicately once more, and she, him. More bubbles were appearing but if they were going to share their last breath, they knew how they'd want to lose it. Jisung pressed his lips against Y/N's, something he should have done a long time ago. Their eyes closed when their lips met, and when they pulled away, they held onto each other tightly, love and despair in both of their longing stares saying 'we tried'.
And they did try. They tried so hard to save a world that was dying, leading to their own fated departures from the Earth. The world was destined to end but they were destined to be together, no matter what was thrown at them.
